I read this entire fucking manga and I still can't understand where the whole "too much fanservice" discussion is coming from, is it strictly something from the anime? Because I've been thinking these people read the wrong manga Soul Eater had more fanservice in its first chapter than most of Fire Force, what the fuck are people talking about >Oh but how could this man write Maka and then write Tamaki Tamaki is not even THAT much of a fanservice character, Blair was WAY worse, and literally all female characters in Fire Force grow a lot Not that I dislike it, btw, I love fanservice but think it can be done badly, like 7 deadly sins, this wasn't even close, not enough to even be mentioned on the same breath

Blair actively and confidently exposes herself so they consider it "empowering" which makes it okay. Tamaki's gimmick is that she constantly gets forcibly stripped naked shamefully. It's meant to humiliate her and plays into the female submissiveness appeal. They consider that degrading to women which is a big no-no (of course, they won't have any problem with fanservice that's degrading to men).
