The Bugle Call/ Sensou Kyoushitsu Anonymous 04/21/2025 (Mon) 10:46:59 Id: d4e7e0 No. 37809
What do you think of its little spin on the "ancient advanced" civilization trope? I've been enjoying this manga so far
(478.53 KB 1096x1600 26.jpg)

>>39950 This was the page about the power of Zoe, her upgraded power was about moving ahead in time than the opponent.
>>39055 >>39237 I honestly wish it would take more notes from World Trigger.
>>40109 Would Zoe start using that to skip her cooldown?
>>41907 i never read world trigger. what does it do different? >>41912 that only happens when she's flowering and I think she still had a massive cooldown afterwards
(53.79 KB 346x688 1740752718266584.jpg)

>>41912 You mean using her flowering power to skip ahead, while she is sleeping from using her base power, to shorten her sleep time? Can the rami use their powers while sleeping?
>>43461 that would mean she would have to flower while sleeping and then knowingly speeding up the sleep. I have a feeling Zoe is gonna use her flowering powers to get her mental age to catch up to her physical age.
>>45625 >catches up mentally >lose all interest in Lucas
>>48244 >catches up mentally >becomes a shotacon see beyond, my friend
>>37809 Last few chapters really ruined the setting, like it took it down from a respectable fantasy to something of the tone of a shock bait and switch ishitkai. But even before then, the characters had insane plot armor, and for a series that tries to play itself as "mature and gritty where people die", having none of the cast killed off or even incapacitated, while the enemies get clowned on left and right, is a really bad look.
>>48908 it has only been what? 33 chapters? if any of the main is going to die, they won't die this early unless it's one of those bait and switch edgy mangas that pretend to have a main cast only for them to be killed off for shock value. i'd also argue that considering the pope and lucas are strategic minds, they can preserve the main cast better and the most recent threat is literally just village people. also, isekai doesn't apply here. the cast is native and its really a matter of time rather than a magic portal/reincarnation to a separate world.
>>48908 I agree to some extent. I haven't lost interest but the reveal was a bit jarring, even if I do believe it was fully planned from the start. Regarding characters not dying I'm fine with it so far but I do hope we see some deaths fairly soon. Feels like some kind of betrayal is incoming (looking at you poppy) and I hope it actually has consequences
>>49128 >it has only been what? 33 chapters? Keep in mind each chapter in bugle counts as 4 weekly shounen chapters, only that instead of getting one chapter released every week we get 4 chapters released at once every month So by weekly chapters comparison, this serie is on its 132th weekly chapter right now
>>51428 It averages ~60 pages so 3 weekly chapters.
I read this recently and found it very enjoyable. I started reading because someone said the author(s?) were inspired by Sora no Woto. You can kind of see it, but funnily enough I think they miss a lot of the charm points and sort of resort to superficial similarities rather than trying to hit same tonal points. I don't mind because the good parts about the manga are far outside the SnW influences and it's clearly just doing it's own thing. There's something a bit campy about the entire manga that I can't exactly put my finger on. And sometimes it feels a bit thin when it comes to worldbuilding and characters. I think those are the things that keep it from being "great" and just "very enjoyable" territory for me. Best part about the manga is that literally every bad thing can somehow be lead back to eternal anglos. Subscribe to my blog etc
>>51972 >Sora no Woto guess i'll read this too now knowing the next chapter is gonna take a month
>>51812 Which weekly series with 20 pages do you read? Most of the ones I know average between 13 and 15 pages for chapter
>>52919 The raws drop around the 5th of the month, and the chapters are usually translated two days later, so it's around 13 days for the next chapter

>>51972 >Best part about the manga is that literally every bad thing can somehow be lead back to eternal anglos. Lol
>>52968 Centuria
>>39565 >Miura base power is about speed ^ >>39565 >Miura base power is about speed, so would his upgrade be just more speed? Or speed turning into energy? Or stopping time for him alone? Do you know about the flash and speedforce? Whatever it is, i hope it have nothing to do with time travel... Fuck this shit stupid ancient civilization plot twist. Now that idea that miura can run so fast he travel through time is possible. What next? Miura flashpoint? With zoe's mother as the batman and lucas is an emancipated supertwink?

>>52919 >read It's an anime original so you shouldn't touch the manga, it isn't very good. Also tonally very different as I said, but they both feature the sort of ancient technology fantasy Europe with the main character in war just wanting to play an instrument. It's fun, I hope you like it. >>52994 It's even better because iirc the whole tower time travel shenanigans were also started by the Brits
>>37809 For me the biggest appeal was 'medieval x-men battle it out'. With some of the trippier self-consciously 'shonen manga' aspects to the power system being fun - like The Mirror's power or Zoe ripping through panels to skip dying, being very welcome and fun. The trip to the future village was surreal in a good way, but most of the Future Plot stuff isn't really that appealing to me, in general. And characters tied to it, like Akira or the Pope, aren't my favorites by a long shot. In fact I kinda dread Akira appearing because I really don't enjoy his character or how he distrupts the tone of the series.
>>39565 >>39950 >>40109 Zoe's ability clearly isn't just about "borrowing time". She was able to skip her own death when fighting the Mirror. So whatever her ability is, no one actually knows it yet. Probably not even her, given that she's pretty retarded.
>>53965 The futurist things feels like it would take a long time to get interesting seeing as how it feels so foreign to the setting but the fact that ayy lmaos are real in this universe makes me a little more interested but in a different way than when i started reading.
>>53965 >most of the Future Plot stuff isn't really that appealing to me, in general. >>53996 The almost annoying thing with the future people village side story, is that we still have no idea what are the goals or motivations of the real future people, because these guys we saw are the rebels who are betraying their nation to side with the enemy, we still haven't seen the real future people who give orders to the Pope Are the normal future people as much bored with their endless time as the rebels? Or not? Since the normal futurists didn't side with their own enemies, does that mean they found a different thing to keep themselves occupied or to be loyal towards? What are their plans to face the empire? And so forth We still got nothing about them
>>55593 i think their goal is still the original goal that the pope explained which was eliminating the empire and reworking the current history to be written back as close as possible to the original timeline.

>>39565 >space warping >time warping >black hole >Akira can also see in the future hmmmmmm... How does Luca's tought control fit with the theme
>>60053 the mind or soul is somehow related to space probably. mind/soul warping?
>>60132 >the mind or soul is somehow related to space probably. What do you mean with it being related to space?
>>60147 All the flowering powers are clearly related to time and space in the physics sense and I guess they are related
(495.72 KB 589x602 1646430165791.png)

>>60149 So the thought lines which Lucas sees how would fit in there, as just information moving without medium?
>>60147 Fuck we need Einstein or Hawking to figure this weird plot out
Souls were mentioned few times in the story, either as the consciousness of the people stored in the towers, or as the base over which the rami powers are anchored
(49.74 KB 245x158 zzz.png)

When did you guys started to think Poppy was an enemy agent? The last chapter basically confirmed it
(291.47 KB 959x1400 1.jpg)

(238.05 KB 959x1400 2.jpg)

(323.83 KB 959x1400 3.jpg)

>>60269 For me it was at this moment, in chapter 17
>>60147 I was thinking that maybe souls existed in another plane (the ones still alive) and Lucas's power simply connect them in that plane. Which is why I think the visualization of his powers looks like lines connecting dots. Massive reach but that's the only thing I got for his powers being related to time/space
