What would a sequel be about? I once saw some anon claiming that the director stated in an interview that he planned some sequel that had Ange going on to conquer worlds for some reason, but I never found a source, and it was probably bullshit.

The show was mediocre overall but one moment sticks with me. That scene where Ange is rotting in the normie prison and despairing about everyone in her homeland betraying her and then the dragon lady descends and starts singing and killing everyone. Everything seemed completely lost but then Ange realizes she knows the song and starts singing too. That right there is one of the most peak anime moments I've ever experienced.

Don't forget that the Mana literally hunted her kind for fuel. That the Norma were basically slave soldiers was probably unimportant to them, and maybe trying to get Norma support might have been too risky, since it could tip Embryo off. Destroying the Norma would have also critically hurt Manaland and maybe ruined them outright before they could have replaced the lost Norma, don't forget that. War is dirty, especially if you're considered cattle by the enemy.

It's not a good mecha and I hated it while it was airing. But now I like it and it was one of the last decent things Sunrise made before morphing into the shitheap they are now. Waiting week to week does it a lot of disservice as does expecting it to be a mecha series.
