Shadows House Anonymous 04/17/2025 (Thu) 12:13:40 No. 11173
Hello /a/, fancy seeing (You) again. How do we feel about the most recent Emilyko developments? The final arc is just getting started.
I miss when this was actually popular on /a/
Is this trash still on hiatus?
>>11173 Final arc has been slow and the quality of the manga has deteriorated, but I still like it. The last handful of chapters being about everyone BUT Emilyko and Kate is okay I guess, but I miss this cute little circus sideshow like you wouldn't believe. Raws got posted regularly on /a/ and we had our own resident TL to keep us up to date, but I've never been one to keep schedules so I have no idea what the publication looks like right now. Palmtop scans being a few weeks or months behind doesn't help me keep track either.
>>13596 I read it as it comes out, the weekly thread on /a/ is good for keeping up with releases.
i just don't feel invested in this anymore
>>11173 >final arc Geez It's ben a minute since I last checked in Last I read was during the kouhai exam
>>11173 Will they assassinate the great and glorious Christopher's character in the final arc? If they do I'm retroactively dropping the manga
>>13596 From what I last heard, speed translations on /a/ aren't going to happen anymore. We'll have to wait for palmtop scans.
>>13596 I like that to be fair. It's a big fuck you to editor from Somato. The current is was supposed to happen prior to Anthony's revelation. I just wish Somato justify him being out of the picture for over a month in the story. >>41192 I bet there is more than one Christopher right now with different soot abilities. An army of Christ, maybe.
>>11499 i prefer their previous manga it didnt stretch out as long
I completely forgot about this series, besides the creative lewds of Kate
>>42613 Your original TL is still here, and given that threads live longer here, maybe I'll get around to translating on the weekend after a dump. Anybody knows where the previous dumper got the raws from? Are you here? The Young Jump viewer isn't directly supported by the tool I'm using to rip other manga, though it looks at a glance to use the same scrambling strategy as Heros' website.
>>43356 As far as I know, raws came from Discord and were just reposted on /a/. On that note, hereโ€™s Ch217 from today. Some other anon can dump the pages if they want, Iโ€™m in my phone and itโ€™s a pain. https://imgur.com/a/sh217-cAQhu87
>>52119 >Belle finally comes to the inevitable realization >/a/ isn't fully here to react to it with I'm sad now....
I havent caught up with this since the shitshow that is the anime adaptation
(2.33 MB 1000x1434 1.png)

>>52119 >discord AIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE I saw other TLanon didn't get around to translating the last chapter. I'll dump that one first so I can link them later, then the current one. Golden Week is coming up, so I should have some extra time. I also only noticed it now, but the use of colour in chapter 216 is bredi gud.

>>53746 Or maybe use her as a hostage against Kate
>>52846 Chapter 216 : Revenge tagline: The door is shut tight... >>52847 *knock knock knock* >Aaah ... it's john and Patrick. >They're so noisy, ugh. >If they want me to come out, they should just come everyday, right? Pisses me off. >When I let in Stella earlier, that was since she came countless times before, don't they get that? >Sorry, we went all around asking, but >nobody knew a "medicine that soothes the heart's worries". >But, we brought some tasty coffee! Maybe this is it?! >>52848 >Huh?! They took that seriously? I just responded with whatever I felt like there, but they... >So that's why they didn't come for a while, hm. >But ... apologizing is also annoying*. >Anyway, this is our second meeting, so come out! >This isn't your second meeting. >This cafe au lait ... is really ... tasty... >So he's still drunk... *annoyed* >What?! He's drunk? So they didn't earnestly care about me? * It isn't clear here whether it's about John and Patrick apologizing or Louise apologizing to them.
>>52849 >It's been a while, Louise. >Huh?! Benjamin?! >Rest at ease. Benjamin's one of you know, since I've heard plenty about the brainwashing and the House. >Benjamin has been quietly observing so far, but Benjamin was truly worried too. Also, as squad leader, Benjamin ought to at least visit his squad members, right? >Hey, Louise. If you need help, say it clearly. >"Be active about getting involved" is what you said, right? >>52850 >As a former Star Bearer, you know it more or less, right? About Unification. >Louise ... after being made to drink the true coffee and not being able to turn back, Louise recklessly refused the Unification. >And that's when ... Louise's body changed and the Lou I was thinking of disappeared. >>52852 >While thinking it over plenty, Louise noticed it. >Shadows are existences which copy someone. Shadows are shams. >Louise wasn't the greatest, the cute one was Lou. >Lou is kind and I like her but ... Louise wouldn't want to be so pathetic as to be comforted by humans. >Benjamin, now that your brainwashing is undone, you get it, right? For a Shadow there's no self.
>>52854 >As far as Benjamin is concerned, Louise and Lou look completely different. >It seems you are misunderstanding something, but imitation isn't copying. >The lifestyles of servant and master are quite different after all. >For example, Oliver's just sitting and thinking all the time, so he lacks exercise. That makes his stomach weak and slack. >On the other hand, because Ollie's made to go along with ridiculous experiments, his stomach is ripped. >Even though Benjamin and Ben are doing the same training, our muscle growth is subtly different. >Also, living dolls are doing manual labour, so they are naturally sturdier than Shadows. >>52856 >You are speaking of nothing but muscles, so will that work out? >... *cough* > It happens often that what one believed in turns out to be wrong. >That's why even if you stumble, you gotta stand up again. >Don't be afraid of changes in your personality or body. >We are "children" after all. >... the preparations are done for a party in Kate's room. >To be aware of oneself and to be self-aware ... in other words, sprouting a self. >Louise, you aren't on your own. Benjamin himself realized that just a bit ago. >Now then, let's celebrate your growth together with everyone! >>52860 >I changed my mind. Go ahead. >Aight! (I heard about a tea party.) (Drunk no longer.) *creak*
>>52863 >>52865 >Louise became h u g e?! (in a low voice) (hmpg, mhp, hmgh) *slap* >... >You're all surprised, I take it? >Since Louise doesn't resemble Lou at all anymore, I don't even know I am anymore. >That isn't true... >You needn't lie to me. >>52867 >Louise was ... >ever since the debut, right at the top. Enjoying my life here better than anybody else. >Getting drunk on the feelings of my own almightyness. >Looking down on the adults and thinking the Unification ceremony would be no problem at all... >that's what led to me to being Invited without having talked to anybody. >But the adults saw through a child's thoughts like they were nothing, so... >there I met my first failure ... and my self became empty. >>52868 >But Lou ... went as far sacrificing her own live to save the strange me that I had become. >Even after her brainwashing was lifted, >She held me, who had become nobody, dear. >Every went as far as to shelter me, worry about me, come to visit me... >so that's why ... I won't worry anymore! >The world doesn't need to revolve around Louise, >just being here is fine. >I'm glad I came out!
>>52870 >Come on everybody, the tea is getting cold. >So in the end we couldn't do squat. >I'm ashamed of being drunk down under the table at a coffee party. (reflecting) >Ara, you didn't notice? >This party is the result of your approach you know? >She's not here right now, but... >Suzie came back to her senses because of your coffee party. >And with that, convincing Suzanna will also be a cinch I think! >I see! We helped everyone! >We did it! (The tie(?) strategy was a great success!) >>52875 >Having you look for some medicine that doesn't exist ... sorry for being so mean. >John, >Patrick, >and ... uhm, >Shaun, and Ricky too, >thank you. >... >That's the first time ... you called us by name!! >I had plenty of free time, so I had Lou and Emiliko tell me about the names of the living dolls ... no, humans. I've memorized them all. >So you don't need to worry anymore. >Louise has recovered fully! >>52877 despair
Bless you TLanon <3
>>52888 p1 >Isabelle and Mirabelle were two as one. >They were always together. >Nobody knew how they were different. >Everybody vaguely called them "Belle". >But that doesn't matter. >Since they were always together, >they would surely die together. [Chapter 217: Revenge] [The bonds connecting twins since before their birth.] >>52890 >Belle ... Belle ... no ... no way, that was just a bad dream. >Anyway, what even is a living doll? >Why do we even believe that kind of lie... >>52891 >Whose fault is Belle's death? >It couldn't be because we were manipulated by Isabelle and Mirabelle... >No! It's because Barbara falsely accused us! >Because of that we ended up in that mess of having to clean the soot pipes as punishment. >So it's the Star Bearer's fault! >... or is it? >>52893 >... could it be that I'm at fault? >If I had been aware of our humanity at that time, I could have maybe saved the weakened Belle. >On top of that, my snitching about them being a burden could have led to the disposal of my squadmates. >I did something I cannot make up for. >Forgive me, forgive me!
>>52895 >... hey, Belle. >Who should I resent? >Who does something so cruel? >... >... the adults? >>52899 >But, the adult Shadows of the House do not directly involve themselves with the children. >If so ... >Anthony is weird*. >It's so utterly strange for him to come back to the Children's Wing after having become an adult. >And above all else, the one calling the shots is not the Shadow, but a human. * Also suspicious/wrong/unusual. >>52902 >The Living Dolls' rooms are locked with a key so I can't get out from here, >but if it's from the Shadow's room, then I can get out. >>52904 >No reaction ... asleep. *click* *clack clack*
>>52906 [Former Star Bearer meeting room] >It seems like Christopher and Anthony have taken this as their private room currently. >... *door opening* *sleeping noises* *thump* *surprise* *click* >Anthony is still awake... >Doing something in the middle of the night makes him even more suspect. >>52908 >The next day. >Sneaking in was easy, but ... I have to think up a way with which I can in. >Beating an adult is going to be pretty hard. >I see. If I catch him off guard and splash his face with the lye for cleaning... >With that, even I could...! >>52910 >The doll that Emiliko made for me... >When I was alone after Belle died, >when I panicked without knowing why, >it gave me peace of mind. >>52912 >My beloved Emiliko, >It might be too late now, but thank you for the doll.
>>52918 *crk* *creak* >>52922 *clack clack* *clack* >Common name: storage tower (tower administrated by the former Rosemary squad) *looks around* >He disappeared?! >>52925 >There's light coming from behind the wall. *creak* >A hidden door...?! >>52926 >>52928 SMILE

Every other recent chapter is so clearly rushed, wrapping up side characters entire backstory, character development and arc all at warp speed. The major villain Edward appears to have been suddenly and neatly written out of the story, sent off the netorare-village, so that the broader narrative with Grandfather-sama and the other Ojii-sans can take over. Everything Anthony, once carefully crafted and parceled out slowly, has become a gargantuan mess of contrivances. It's honestly becoming a chore to read now, with nonstop walls of text, plot dumps, and all the CHILDREN of the manor suddenly acting like battle-hardened insurgents spending 99% of their time planning 88D chess. It's a shame, all of the charm and mystique of the setting has long since been stripped away in a mad dash to the conclusion. The graceful axe looms. Keito-sama is still the best though. I will persist for her.
>>11499 the irregular release + the snail's pace it had before + the sudden rush towards the end of the story ahs clearly alienated a whole bunch of the audience
>>66252 it doesn't help that they can't even get a third season since the first season butchered a lot of the charm
>>66268 The first season was incredible (until the anime original end.) The setting and mystery of the manors were so damn interesting I didn't make it 3 episodes before I had to rush off and spoiler myself on the manga. Though I can't deny that the awful ending of S1 knee-capped any hype it could have had, leading to the inevitable decline even though it eked out a S2 in the end. It would have fared much better if the anime version of The Promised Neverland wasn't so recent in peoples memory at the time. That debacle was so awful people couldn't help negatively comparing the two. If it was releasing right now instead things would be way different, for sure.
>>66252 At least textwise it's always been a lot. The swing from the backstories the past few chapters, which Somato had to put there because fucking editors, to the apparently final arc is quitie jarring though.

Chapter 221's TL. I typeset it for once, but honestly even low-effort typesetting takes as much time or longer than translating. Should've been around 90 minutes translating after having read it over once before, and around 100 minutes typesetting + fixing some formulations as I was doing it.

>>70690 That expression Joseph is using is a Japanese proverb. It literally means "haste is good"; it basically refers to acting on good ideas immediately. And yes, it's literally "theme park". ใƒ†ใƒผใƒžใƒ‘ใƒผใ‚ฏ

I wish kate were older. So I could sexually harass her It's not a moral thing, I just don't care for under-developed bodies
(1.80 MB 995x1430 11.png)

>>70692 Apparently I still suck cock.
Are we supposed to believe Joseph's story? Sounds like a bunch of bullshit with a lot of holes and contradictions. I'm also not entirely convinced that he didn't netorare Alfred and is actually Kate's real father.
>>11173 I dropped out of this for a long while because of trouble in my life. is it really almost over? I guess we're deep in the 20s or 30s volume wise so it would make sense, but it seemed like there was so much more to deal with.
>>71518 If Joseph actually can be trusted, we might be in the endgame. His recent talks with Kate gave a lot of background info and "plan" to deal with Great Grandfather.

Chapter 225: Reunion tagline: Two people that shouldn't be there. Somewhere they shouldn't be. >Hey, hey >so you finally found us. >It's been a while, Edward. >You louts ... why are you here?
(1.11 MB 996x1431 02.png)

>>72397 >No ... in the first place, you jumped off from the Passageway of Glory?! >The chance that you, with your small soot amount, would get away unscathed from falling off the cliff into a bed of rocks is zero! >I had some help you see. >From Christopher's living doll, "Anthony". >ANTHONY?! >Long ago Christopher failed the unification! Together with his living doll! Thinking conventionally, that is.
(1.26 MB 998x1431 03.png)

>>72398 >Anthony is a human that originally entered the House to reclaim it. >Since he avoided being brainwashed, I'm sure that also meant him being able to outlive that. >Reclaim it? From who? >Shadows House was originally the property of humans. >That of Alfred, Anthony's father. >Surprising, isn't it? We didn't know that much back when we were in the House.
(2.00 MB 999x1432 04.png)

>>72399 >We tried getting off the island right after escaping from the House. >It all went swimmingly up to the procedures for boarding the ship at Smog Gate. >However, due to some mysterious health complications, I was laid up in bed. >Even after that, for some reason we didn't get off the island. >When we were at a loss searching for employment, a certain man called out to us. >You're a Shadow, right? Please come with me. >Why woul a mere villager know of the Shadows' existence? >We were anxious, but in our exhaustion we couldn't but follow him.
(1.23 MB 1000x1432 05.png)

>>72400 >He introduced himself as a remnant of a group, the "Mirror Family", that aimed to reclaim the House. >That's the villager who called out to you this noon ... Jeremy's father. >After Alfred's death, the Mirror Family was about to stop operating, but there was an atmosphere that wouldn't just give up up on reclaiming the House. >Jeremy knew these circumstances and was the last infiltrator. >I was taught a lot here. They even were so kind to earnestly listen to my story, even though I was one of those detestable Shadows. >So the wall I felt from their reactions was not especially due to Coalmine being a locality managing coal mining... >but rather that was because of the remnants of the Mirror Family?

>>72401 >The greatest generation. >The one who created that was Anthony... >Have we been >dancing in the palm of his hand from the start? >There's still more. >Anthony is... >The House ... is supposed to be a human's ... Anthony's...? >Who,

>>72403 >You're easy as always to understand, Edward. >When you lose your cool, it's whenever your pride gets wounded. >Think well and take a look! I can use other people's soot.

>>72411 >So please, >help me get back to the House! >Let us go back together to Shadows House! >WHAT?!
