As the title states, what animu are you guys watching? I started Tower of God and Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shite shimatta, both are alright so far, I suppose.
>>10 Tower of God and Gleipnir, this season is fucking shit. Also spoil that shit you mad man
>>11 No. >Gleipnir What's that about? I haven't really been keeping up with this season's anime other than the two I'm watching.
>>12 A bit of horror, ecchi and action. Very well produced.
>>13 Might have to take a look at it, then. I'm down for horror anime.
>>15 It's more action than horror read the manga

I'm rewatching the original Macross. It's good up to episode 27, but everything after is pure garbage. Also, fuck Kaifun
Hamefuri, Kaguya sama, Jashin chan and a couple of old shows. Dropped Kakushigoto, I feel I'm not Japanese enough to understand it.
>>17 It's that bad?
>>19 Yes, it's mostly very bad drama.
Marathoned Godannar and Gravion this past month. They were alright, but of the two, I liked Godannar more. I also read the Prison School manga all the way to the end. Never have I seen a main protag screw up so bad that it ended up breaking me for a few days.
Just started Armored Trooper VOTOMs, pretty cool but I wonder if the mech content is low.
To be honest, I don't watch any new stuff except Kaguya-sama because this season trash as fuck. I am watching Aoi Bungaku Series it is fucking great. Watching Death Parade as well, its good too.
>>65 I heard about the ending to Prison School and it made me never want to read it. I thought it was bad when that one gal manga suddenly had the class president get raped.
(156.23 KB 468x800 ClipboardImage.png)

Someone recommended Patlabor to me. Downloaded shit, but haven't started watching beyond the intro yet. Looks pretty good from the quick looks I made before downloading though.
(3.73 MB 720x405 wowowowowowowow.gif)

! AOTY is back after a month long hiatus! I thought it would be indefinite like Precure and I cried but they suddenly announced it would resume like 3 days ago and the latest episode is coming out in raw form now
>>12 A guy who turns into a living fursuit and this girl gets inside of him and fights for him.
>>112 The issue with the ending is that the set up was making it to be that it would be a good end, but the protag's vices got him at the end causing a bad end for the two girls and him. A redemption arc would have been great as it could have created a better story as the other side characters have changed throughout the manga, but the main protag never changed. There was also some loose ends that never got resolved such as the deal with the school principal. In the end, it was a rushed ending for the manga. Author looked like he was sick of working on Prison School and wanted to bail out of the contract with the publisher. A shame because the story was finally picking up after the dreaded cavalry arc.
>>10 Gleipnir, Kaguya sama, Ishuzoku Reviewers and Fruits Basket s2
>>10 Right now I'm thinking of giving Gundam ZZ another shot, but recently finished Granbelm. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, even if it's basically meguca with mechs. It helps that the mechs weren't CG at all.
(162.78 KB 900x587 rjrj (2).png)

Kaguya's and Mikoto's shows. Some nice anon recommended hibike euphoneum, so I'm going through that, too. Great, comfy shows.
(146.97 KB 392x471 touhou3.jpg)

>>122 ZZ is alright, but it wasn't as good as Zeta nor as memorable
(123.85 KB 1280x720 mpv-shot0002.jpg)

Just finished all season of Minami-ke, incredible series. Now i have no idea what to watch, currently downloading Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, i will watch this, Fate Apocrypha or Kantai collection. I dont know why but i don't get enjoyment from anime like i did when i began watching, every show just feels the same, so ive been recently reading more manga. Give me some recoms if you know good romance, mystery or slice of life series.

>>139 I like ZZ more than Zeta but feel Kamille is about on par with Judau for me.
Just watched Deca Dence. I both hate and love the MC, Kaburagi's a bro, and the robots pickaxing monster feces and drinking monster shit booze was amusing and hot

Can anyone tell me if the Dunbine blu-ray release is good?

Went through the Project A-ko series for the first time in ages; it's hard to watch the fourth one now without yelling about the jews every half minute.
Was watching all of Digimon, but kind of stalled near the beginning of Xros Wars Season 3 on account of all of Xros Wars sucking pretty hard. Don't know why I went through the first two seasons, but I suppose since I watched almost everything else except Appmon, I might as well finish this. It doesn't suck as bad as Tri, anyway. The current Digimon Adventure series is alright. Way too slow to get any significant plot going, but the last few episodes, since they got to the first boss, have been pretty decent and actually getting me interested for the rest. Especially since it seems like the guy controlling Devimon was Millenniummon, and if he was speaking through Devimon, it's getting my hopes up for some top-tier autism where all the old stuff is canon and this might be the same Millenniummon from the WonderSwan games/Adventure 02.
Dead board but it's really the only place I can ask. What's a sub group that's actually subbing Jujutsu Kaisen & not just pointlessly reposting CR sub rips?
>>276 I was wondering whether the new Adventure was worth watching or whether it just be a lazy remake. I hope you're right about the Devimon shit. >>277 Aren't most groups doing CR rips these days?
>>295 The new Digimon Adventure series isn't a lazy remake, since honestly it's a very different plot, but with the same protagonists. Very different backstory and series of events. Honestly, I think it's a lot more generic than the original, and though the characters are all pretty much the same, they don't get the same type of development that made them interesting in the original. All that said, it's still better than Frontier, Xros Wars, Appmon, and Tri.
>>296 >better than frontier Trash taste.
>>297 I like Frontier. My feelings on it are overall positive. I don't think I'd say the same about Xros Wars seasons 1 or 2, or about Tri. I kind of like Xros Wars season 3, but not as much as Frontier. That said, I'd still put Frontier in the mediocre tier. I like it, but it's a bit boring. The plot is a bit bare and the characters aren't as deep as the previous seasons or Savers. It's honestly fairly forgettable. I thought I was gonna get shit about the implication that 02 is better than Frontier, Xros Wars, Appmon, Tri, and Colon. Because it is, but people are too dumb to get it. >Adventure >Tamers >Adventure 02 >Savers >Colon (so far) >Frontier >Xros Wars season 3 >Appmon >Xros Wars seasons 1 and 2 I'm still watching Appmon, so that ranking may change. So far it's okay. A lot better than Xros Wars first two seasons. I don't really like Season 3 much either except for the autism in the last couple episodes, so I'm hopeful that Appmon will beat it overall.
Rewatching Outlaw Star. The older I get, the most I recognize how much of a masterpiece the series is. It drives me to a fit of giggles imagining the creative process behind Episode 23. Like, yeah, they need to have a plot device so Gene can get more caster shells for the Final Battle, and probably spent long hours trying to come up with all manner of epic Herculean tests and struggles so he could obtain them. Only to throw literally all of that gritty realism out the window in favor of cartoon shenanigans on an Onsen Planet where he gets given the shells in return for transporting an Exploding Sextape. Most people tend to focus on the silly "filler" episodes, ignoring the more hardcore plot ones. Like the time when Jim happily helps the crew murder a little girl that he had a puppy-love crush on, and doesn't even realize it. That's tragedy that would make Shakespeare cry. It hits this odd middle-ground where it's too serious at times for people into comedy anime, and too silly at times for people into realistic anime. Bonus: Neon Genesis Evangelion starts hitting different when you're much closer to Gendo's age than Shinji's.
>>10 I just finished Psycho-Pass (not the OP but I did post in that autistic's anime board /anime/ about it and not in /a/) and now I am watching Magic Knight Rayearth to see if I can stomach clamp outside of xxxholic (manga) that I liked. I might watch other clamp stuff after this. When I get drunk I watch: >fruits basket (original) >haibane renmei >azumanga daioh >ergo proxy >evangelion Mainly for the dopamine rush I get from their intros, though not azumanga daioh of course. Haibane Renmei is a sappy dopamine high throughout though for me. Also other anime shows and tv shows but whatever.

>>349 I like the bunny thingy now (clamp's spammed makona creature).
Personally, I've been watching an anime called Bokurano (sometimes spelled as Bokura no) Despite it being an ugly as fuck artstyle and me being skeptical about the premise, its been quite good so far. Its an anime where a bunch of middle-schoolers with very different personalities are forced to pilot a mecha and fight an enemy to save the world, where after they pilot it once, they will die. They don't have a choice since if they do not pilot it, the world will be annihilated. It does not go for the cliches, despite it sounding cliched. There is shit like attempted rape, murder and actual intercourse between adults and schoolchildren depicted, so it is definitely not anything made for kids despite the young cast of characters. Its pretty fucked up and disturbing, but an interesting and fascinating look into the psyches of people, and to understand humans a bit better, potentially including oneself if you can put yourself into any of their shoes. There's also a good amount of mystery, intrigue, and conspiracy involved surrounding the mystery of the whole thing. There's a devil-like toy thing that acts similar to Monokuma and basically goads and eggs on the worst aspects of each pilot before their "turn", and its just interesting to see each "archetype" of person. The ugly artstyle is intentional since its supposed to be a very "real" and ugly look into how humans are and behave when confronted with an awareness of their mortality. The music is quite good and creepy and ominous. Its a very "stark" and uncomfortable anime, but quite compelling. Storytelling is well-handled. Its an odd watch, but surprisingly addicting after the first 2 episodes or so, and it improves as it goes on so its a good ramp-up. Would recommend it thus far at least, I have 5 episodes to go before I finish it, gonna try to do that now.
It's hard for me to finish a series if I don't binge it within a few days, but the arknights one and bocchi the rock are ones I will probably grab as a batch. Listening to the bakemonogatari audiobooks, it's somewhat different from the anime, and it makes me wonder how much it might be localized for clarity or how much I might have missed a decade ago. It uses interesting kanji in the light novel, I heard, but it can't be helped.
>>1238 >It's hard for me to finish a series if I don't binge it within a few days kinda the same, this one I only just started yesterday >arknights a gacha anime? Why?
Finished the anime, opinion fell slightly due to losing some steam and too many unanswered questions, but still worth watching ending was okay, could've been better imo apparently the anime director changed the ending and some things in the anime, and compared to the manga it seemed to be for the better he changed it imo, amusingly enough. Oh well, it was still good overall. Would recommend to whoever feels like watching something tragic and "real"

>>1236 I finished the first season of Spy x Family a while ago and my god was it sweet. After watching it, I realized that it was my sole duty to start a family of my own. Anya, Loid, and Yor make up this family that nobody could hate. Anya is an telepathic orphan who gets picked up by Loid and immediately becomes attached to him. Loid tries to be as good of a father as he can, and Anya tries to be the best daughter possible to him and help him succeed in his mission. Yor is the wife he picks up to help create the ideal family structure and she's clumsy and cute but can drop her personality instantly into a killer if she has to. She starts falling in love with Loid and Loid with her and she tries to be the best mother possible to Anya - despite knowing she's not her biological one. Every character in the show is funny, each episode will give a diabetic high and might even make you tear up just from how happy you are for Anya it did for me on the flight I watched this on. The story is not amazing, but who the fuck cares. Sometimes you just need to see some shit that elevates you to new highs of happiness. Highly recommend.
>>1242 <cuckshit do you even know what cuck means? Watch the anime and become a family man.
>>1245 >orphan <wifes boyfriends kids Nigger, you dont know what an orphan is. Stop embarrassing yourself.
>>1249 Stay mad.
>>1239 Well I actually like the doctor's backstory and the setting, I didn't play much of the gacha because it was a gacha. The only complaint is he is a military strategist and skilled surgeon but looks like he's 20.
>>1240 >>1237 I watched it for it's opening, the teamwork and setting kind of remind me of the World Trigger manga, albeit without mecha. I agree the ending kind of lost steam, I'd guess they were wrestling with the ending while it was airing to try and hope to come up with something.
>Spy x Family is cuckshit Who invited tv and cuckchan? By this logic, Berserk and Hokuto no Ken are cuckshit
>>1256 helping anyone except myself is also cucked xdddd
>>1259 Having any children is cucked really, you're spending all that time so the kid can go fuck off eventually. We should just stick to watching anime.
>>1260 >so the kid can go fuck off eventually. Not if it's a girl and you raise her to be daddy's daughterwife.
>>1252 I've heard World Trigger was a disappointment aside from the fights, is it worth a damn? Could use a slightly longer anime to watch and it seemed to have a good amount of episodes and appeared potentially intriguing, the impressions I see on it are kinda mixed and very shitting on the protagonist (iirc). >I agree the ending kind of lost steam, I'd guess they were wrestling with the ending while it was airing to try and hope to come up with something. Apparently the anime director specifically did not like the ending of the manga, and changed it (though he still made sure to have the mangaka's approval ofc). Probably for the best from what I saw. The manga ending (And the manga in general apparently) seems more like a despair circlejerk with a sadistic author from my impressions of it. >doctor I know literally nothing about it besides the fact that its a gacha; what doctor? >>1241 Dunno if I'm in the mood for something that sweet right now, saw the first episode and it was good though, glad you had a nice time with it anon I'll probably watch it later when I'm more in the mood for something super wholesome.
>>1284 >world trigger I wouldn't know how the anime is, but the manga has a pretty good tournament arc that was going when I stopped reading. It was a pretty great demonstration of character building and introducing a large cast of maybe 100 characters. They started doing other stuff right as I ran out of chapters but it seemed like the usual slow buildup as the series figures out if it's going beyond like 3 volumes/1 season. >doctor It's the protagonist that you play as, like the strategist in fire emblem 7 or something.
>>1236 Is it weird that I got actively depressed because I couldn't punch a fictional character? Because that's how I felt about Eminence in Shadow's Cid/Shadow.
>>1289 literally who and what

>>1314 <happy family? thats propaganda!
>>1318 And this is why we have gays.
Finished Hinamatsuri and it was pretty funny overall. The art style is a bit rounded and not sexy at all, but the jokes made up for it. Story is about Hina, a girl with telekinetic powers who suddenly teleports into a Yakuza's house. The guy reluctantly takes care of her and becomes her care-taker and they have a weird relationship. The girl is lazy, sleeps all the time, and prone to breaking things. There isn't really a story or plot, its just comedy though there is continuity, similar to Konosuba if you've seen that. The other characters that get introduced are hilarious - like Anzu and Mishima, who are much funnier than the rest of the cast. Overall, its a fun watch but don't expect the best comedy or a strong story, its a decent time waster.
>>1328 read the manga, it's hilarious. Season 2 never ever
Watched an episode and a half today of Sangatsu no Lion or whatever, March comes in like a Lion It feels like a very exhausting anime to watch, dunno if I'll continue with it some of the characters seem likable enough (i.e. the sisters are all charming and sweet) but the protag is just so slow-moving, and the anime has long artsy shots of nothing that it feels tedious people kept recommending thi but I dunno if I feel like watching something so... dense and tiresome. Plus I don't know shit about Shogi so I'm kinda fucked in that regard, though I dunno about how much focus will be on it (but I'd probably prefer more focus on it if anything ironically)
Watched the Area 88 OVAs recently, they were pretty enjoyable watches. Excellent animation quality, etc. I was intrigued with the character development of Shin Kazama, flight school student turned reluctant mercenary. If you're interested in well animated aerial dogfighting and stuff like that, this is worth a watch. If you're interested in a man's morality eroding over time to become an efficient dealer of death, this is also worth a watch. I'm actually now getting into the manga since I've heard there are some major differences, and so far, yeah, I'm really preferring how the OVA shifted events/locations from the original manga around for more harder thematic hits. Tried to watch an episode of the 2004 Adaptation, I was in pain, due to jarring CG planes, goofy electronic soundtrack, and a generally more dull art style.
(192.19 KB 540x632 agni.png)

Just finished Firepunch, I was really enjoying the whole story, but the ending sucked ass, I really thought that Agni would just kill san and then die, I find what really happened very anticlimatic
Just watched the first episode of X Its giving off good first impressions, reminds me strongly of Fate in concept. Character designs are good and you can see where things like Code Geass got its inspiration from here, Kamui is quite literally a prototype for Lelouch. Combat scenes thus far have been good and the animation is quite pretty, the characters all have attractive faces. They got a lot of heavy hitters in the voice acting for this anime it seems, though funnily enough it seemed to be a lot of early roles for a lot of them.

(9.13 MB 5778x8212 Tegami Bachi.jpg)

I'm reading Kingdom on Tachiyomi, just started chapter 276. This manga made me realize that I like seinen more than anything else. Constant action with an effort to look smart.Great setting. Ok characters. Also got volume 4 of KOF: A New Beginning. Great art and action, but otherwise very mediocre. Only got it cause I love KOF. Eternally waiting for a new Vagabond chapter. I may read every book I own and +50 mangas I wanna read before that happens. My next manga after Kingdom is Tegami Bachi.
>>1522 Tell me how Tegami Bach goes, I remember reading it as a kid but couldn't remember any of the story. I just thought the artwork was gorgeous.
>>1236 >Fairy tail has possible rape and girls that fear they might be raped by bad guys >A Certain Magical Index/scientific railgun outright implied rape gangs are common in Academy city >Bulma was almost date raped by oolong and gang Raped by red ribbon soldiers >Robin and Nami were at least forced to strip in front of a crew if movies were canon >Original Inuyasha manga didn’t shy away from mentioning bandits raping women and had one attempted rape scene with kagome >Himiko Toga a sexual deviant and a possible rapist >Sailor moon could’ve gang bang by delinquents if her her friend didn’t step in Is there any example of rape coming up in Shōnen or or other unexpected manga no one brings up?
>>1395 That art reminds me of something.
I started rewatching Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate. My favorite parts are the fights against vampires and ghouls and when Father Anderson fights with Alucard. Been having a good time so much so that wanted do some fan art of Integra Hellsing. Trouble is I can't find to source images of her with cavalry saber.
(10.88 MB 720x720 fox bread.mp4)

I finished Senko-san. Life is cold and hard. Lolibaba fox tail is warm and fluffy. I need a Senko-san so bad.
>>1573 Wew that's a good video >I need a senko-san so bad We all do anon
Was watching Akashic Record, almost finished with it, I'll post more in the recommendations thread when I do Its been pretty good so far despite cliches (plus it sometimes subverts them), and Kadokawa making it feel somewhat generic in appearance. Its basically a jaded, perverted trolly clown loser of a teacher (looks college-aged) who teaches a class at a stuck-up mage academy against his will, though that kinda changes as it goes on. Its got a great MC, the closest thing I can compare the anime to is a discount GTO, which is surprisingly quite enjoyable since even being superficially similar to that (MC's characteristics as a teacher in a magic school are clearly inspired by Onizuka's character, which again I'll elaborate more on in the other thread) makes the ride enjoyable and he definitely carries the show hard. The girls are okay but not anything too special, they're fine for the work, something feels off about their school uniforms, like they tried too hard to make them sexy and yet fitting, but instead it just comes across as lame and wasted potential. the anime also manages to make each 3 episodes feel like a small arc, its got a lot of laughs, and its wholesome even if its basic compared to GTO's greatness, I hope it ends on a good note since its only 12 episodes. Has more action and while it technically doesn't have too much of a plot as of yet, it has... something? The world is clearly mostly established already in its context, I dunno what this would look like with more seasons, but its a nice watch for those who aren't jaded faggots and can enjoy a good laugh.
(5.98 MB 1270x720 Bocchi the Extrovert.mp4)

>>1236 Boochi the Rock, only just finished the first episode. So far, it's pretty funny seeing this literal pile of anxiety-ridden/socially-inept mess try her best at communicating with others and making frens. Honestly, the jokes the writers make are refreshing. It's not watamote or k-on, but similar themes are covered.
Started and finished Mob Psycho 100 a few days ago, I got lucky with the final season finishing airing just days before I started it. Its so rare to watch finished anime in the modern times. I'll write more about it in the recommendations thread, but I decided to stick with it this time around after dropping it a few years back for the beginning being kinda slow and boring-ish. Season 1 ended well, overall decent. 2 was mostly animation flexing and lots of shit happening, but lacked emotional impact generally. 3 was some good shit and a nice way to send the anime off. An entertaining anime and I liked the messages of it, Reigen's got a heart of gold and is a fun guy. Mob's a good vessel and vehicle and it was an interesting take on the "coming of age" you usually see. Also started the original Gunbuster, its looking good thus far. Has great music and a lot of charm. >>1569 Any updates?
Anything promising for next season? I know there's Vinland Saga 2 which should be solid.
>thread from 2020 Huh, there's a lot of redundant threads in the catalog. Should I just merge this thread into the other one?
Finished Diebuster, was one of the worst fucking things I ever saw. Don't wanna post about it in the recommendations thread so I'll just post about it elsewhere, but holy fuck, what a waste of fucking time, it was actually horrendous.
Watched and finished Back Arrow What a goddamn waste of time, I'll post more in another thread, but the TL;DR of it is that it isn't worth your time. Its incomprehensible, retard-tier garbage where everything feels fake and tries to throw everything at the wall to make things stick, but it doesn't work at all besides making you think and hope that there might be something good underneath, only there isn't. I had some pretty high expectations given who the people involved were, but that was a mistake. What a fucking waste of time.
>>1832 >>1786 damn, its frustrating when I finish 2 horrible anime in a row I've never had this happen before, usually I drop the bad ones early on and move on, but I had hope for these 2 and it ended up being immensely disappointing, especially the latter because it was 24 fucking episodes.
>>1786 Gunbuster > Eva
>>1837 That's a weird position to take imo because they are such different anime to begin with
Finished Devil is a Part-timer season 1, and now starting Nodame Cantabile. Seems funny enough to continue at least, the protagonist being a talented asshole amuses me.

I read FX Senshi Kurumi-Chan a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty good. Its about a girl whose mother commits suicide after betting her family's life savings in Foreign Exchange Trading and losing all of it. She grows up and wants to make that money back for her mom like a sort of revenge and gets into FX trading and it starts ok, but she quickly falls into hell. She undergoes massive mental pressure through lows and greed during the highs. As someone who got into the gamestop fiasco and lost around 3k (at its peak I was up around 6k), I understand the feelings the girl goes through. I'd recommend it, however the English translation is absolute ass and I was only interested in the main character and later they add other characters who I don't care about and she transforms into a horrible person. By the way, when I say the English translation is ass, I mean that its almost as if 4chan's /biz/ board translated it - theres references to british shit like a Tesco's, tendies, etc. Whenever you see one of the terrible references - which is frequent, it might make you drop it. I'd say stay with it until the other characters come in - which is only a few chapters.
>>1965 The quintessential /biz/ manga, I'll give it a read.

Finished Nodame Cantabile's first season in a single day, and finished the second season last night First season was somehow really good, and second season was okay. Looking forward to the final season though, it seems to be considered quite good at least so hopefully it lives up, but its only 13 episodes which concerns me given that the work feels so far from being finished where it ended in the 2nd season. Anyone got any suggestions on something to watch, since I'll probably be finishing this today?

Decided to try out Bocchi the Rock I said in the Bocchi thread, seems good so I'll probably continue it and maybe finish it today

Started watching the genderbent loli anime (Oshimai) currently airing. tl; dr: 2Xyo hikikkomori is turned into a 1Xyo loli by his younger sister in an attempt to fix his NEET autism. The anime is okay (only two episodes have been released), and the loli fanservice is enjoyable (the naked body of Mahiro, the MC, is displayed in multiple scenes, with only his nipples, butt and cunny being censored).
>>2039 >2Xyo hikikkomori is turned into a 1Xyo loli by his younger sister in an attempt to fix his NEET autism. This sounds like the plot to a disturbing fetish doujin or something
>>2041 GB stories tend to be like that, although this one may be creepier because the Mahiro was turned into a girl through the power of SCIENCE™ instead of magic like in other stories.
Just finished watching Part 5 of Jojo, Golden Wind Was a bit anti-climactic, honestly. Not bad, but not a great part either. Decent I guess, I watched all of it so I can't complain too much I suppose, but i was hoping for things to get a bit crazier, and instead it went off the rails in a strange way rather than a cool way. Part 2, 3 and 4 all had some great endings in my opinion. Will probably post more in the anime finished watching thread at some point if I feel like it.

Just started reading Getter Robo last night Anyone know the best order to read these in?
(99.64 KB 800x545 pun pun ages.jpg)

I've been reading Oyasumi Punpun and I fucking hate it. They told me it would be emotional and depressing, but I really think that Onodera is just a faggot and people are projecting their own issues onto him, a "dude he's literally me" worse than the guys who idolize Guts. >shown love and support by everyone, despite them not being the best people around >is drowning in pussy from age 10 >even gets some auntie cooch and still acts like a huge virgin >any time a woman shows any amount of interest in him he's a psychotic and jealous/envious bitch >can't even seal the deal, 9 out of 10 times he just goes home and masturbates furiously >won't even call his relatives who still support him >makes zero real physical efforts in trying to find Aiko >even disrespects his love rival's wish to let the badminton tournament decide who Aiko gets confessed to >abandons his friends who treated him good And the author even has the audacity to make one of the characters voice his own opinion on people shitting on realistic mangas for being uninteresting. Holy shit he's just pathetic. Art is awesome though, and so is the composition and even the "timing" on the panels, extremely cinematic and avant garde. Literally a series carried on by technique alone. Having read Berserk back to back, it's practically the same deal.
>>2363 Ah, wanted to mention: did the author try and plagiarize Ningen Shikkaku/Disqualified as a Human by Osamu Dazai? Because I'm seeing some similarities in how Punpun tries to exist, except less interesting.
>>2363 Interesting, minus the random shitting on Berserk People who claim to identify with Guts are generally people who haven't been through any suffering or betray al in their lives but pretend to be, Guts isn't supposed to be relatable to the vast majority of people, at most small pieces of him might be (being jaded, frustrated, hard to hold it all in and even be assed to be someone good at all), but a lot of it comes from trauma and pain practically unique to him, man is literally living in an apocalyptic world caused by his former best friend, where he is being hunted down the entire time and can't escape but people be like >oh he's just like me Just like niggers looking at ancient Egyptians, it's pathetic I'm very little like Guts at all, because I'm not some kind of basket case who is desperate to relate with an anime character who has literally been into a place which could be called a hell on Earth.
>>2398 I am sorry if the Guts example might have been a bit out there, but I've read them back to back so I couldn't stop thinking about the similarities between them. >terrible childhood traumas >lover gets used as a cumdumpster >blames themselves about the situation but barely ever tackles it head on until it's almost too late >loner despite most problem being easily solvable by letting down their guard a bit more >some pretty faced person ruins their lives for no reason at all But other than that, yes, Guts is almost a parody of a shonen protagonist. Everything about him is amped up to eleven and I really like it because of that, but the story itself is kind of not so interesting when you look at it critically and without any hype surrounding it, and I've had a similar experience with Punpun, probably waiting weeks on end for a development in the crazy story would have made me more interested in it, but I really couldn't sympathize with him other than when he was a little child.
>>1236 Isekai Ojisan. Then, the girl who is friends with the protagonist's nephew appeared in and ruined the anime. She is a complete government propaganda tool, with speeches about "muh single men getting old bad", without addressing that women and the government supporting them are the cause behind men abandoning relationships and marriage. Such a funny and comfy anime ruined by a proto-feminist cunt whose only purpose is to whine when men are having fun by just talking to each other.
(85.04 KB 265x245 Benkei bug spray.png)

>>2346 Release order of course. Start with Getter Robo then G (for both, get versions with the extra pages that were added later), then Go, Shin, and Arc. Don't drop it until you've at least finished Go.

>>2363 Just finished. What a nothingburger of a series. Easily in the top 5 worst mangas I've ever read. I really don't understand what the fuck was the deal with Aiko and Punpun after they murdered her mom. Like I get it, but none of these actions make any sense, even for mentally damaged people. Except for Nanjou and Uncle Yuichi I hate everyone in this series. It's all pathetism and worst case scenario after worst case scenario and all the good parts that might make the gut punches work are either relegated to a few panels or skipped entirely. I also hate the stupid symbolism, like, UUUUUUH PEOPLE HAVE A DARK SIDE TO THEM OH WOW EVEN SOARA PUNYAMA MAY GROW UP TO REPEAT THE SAME MISTAKES OF PUNPUNT??? WHAT AN INCREDIBLY AVANT GARDE AND AUTEURISH TAKE, THE FIRST STRAND TYPE MANGA Seriously, I can't even say that the art is its redeeming quality since half the panels are black with white text and a bunch of art is copy and pasted several times over.
Been watching Kuroko no Basket. Its been a fun anime thus far. Quite simple so far, but that's fine with me. Its been going at a good pace and there hasn't been a boring episode yet.
I'm watching the show about the dark knight that got fired from his job, and I have to say that despite being the worst kind of fantasy (the "fantasy world somehow has video game systems, stats, ect. that the people there are aware of" genre), it surprised me by having the MC not be a massive mangina. When a girl he liked walked into a sauna with him, the show implies they proceeded to fuck until the crack of dawn. He does immediately marry her and have a kid, which reeks of the Japanese government begging its people to breed, I've noticed a few shows now where the MC acts like a normal men would when a beautiful woman obviously wants him. A few seasons ago, we had the isekai about the guy who buys a slave girl and fucks her on day one of having her, before that was Redo of the Healer, and before that, there was Ishuzoku Reviewers. It's good to see that these shows weren't flukes and we're getting shows where men act like men. Now, if only that weren't the only positive thing to say about the show...
Does anyone know what is the deal with Isekai Ojisan's 13th episode, and why it was released yet since last year? It was supposed to end it's first season in the 13th episode, but for some reason, it was not released. Did the show run into trouble in Japan?
>>2541 Too little, too late. The Japanese men already know that the problem is that all women are parasites. No matter the amount of propaganda, men in Japan and all over the world won't go having families en masse just to appease their governments. Once female nature became known to all, it became impossible to ever desire to commit to women ever again. You can't unlearn the truth. There is the other spectrum of what you mentioned, in anime like Isekai Ojisan, in which the girl sends a picture of herself in a swimsuit to the guy she likes, and he promptly deletes the picture, citing that this kind of picture can lead to legal trouble in the future, if she ever wants to falsely accuse him of something. That infuriates the gilr, but the guy does not care. THAT is the reaction that the majority of men in real life relate to. You simply can't trust women, and it is better to stay away from them. If you don't, you are just asking to be sued to death in the future, once the woman decides to take your money away, and the government helps her.
Just started watching Yoroshiku Mecha-doc, an anime from the early 80s about a travelling auto mechanic who wants to work for a professional racing team, but keeps getting sucked into working on cars for hashiriya/street racers (whom he absolutely despises for sullying the reputation of petrolheads and motor racing). It’s pretty funny, and is filled to the brim with period street racing knowledge and tech.
I'm tearing through sports anime as of late Finished watching Giant Killing and now I'm watching Eyeshield 21 Surprising since I don't care for either of the sports in question
>>2662 How is it compared to something like initial D?
>>1236 Watching Patlabor. Three episodes in and I am enjoying it. Going to have to get all the other episodes now.
>>2810 What have you been liking about it?
>>2811 (checked) I like the mech origins being basic loaders/workers for construction but later criminal elements start requiring cops to upgrade as well. A good grounded approach to things is something I like. I like that their mech guns are essentially just scaled up cop guns, and I like how all the rookie pilots are all fuck ups in one way or another. Supporting characters are entertaining as well. Only character I dislike so far is Kanuka. I've since finished the first set of seven episodes so I need to check out the anime/movies next. Though I read there are a few different timelines depending on which medium (manga/movie/anime) you decide to follow so I gotta make sure I don't skip around. I hope they get a bit more mecha action in those though, as that seemed to be lacking a bit in what I watched.
I want to read this Ergo Proxy side story manga, but I have to rewatch the show first. The first time I watched it, I picked up purely because it hot moody goth chick as the MC.
>>2887 I mean she does look kinda cute despite the whole strange edginess look of the show haven't watched it yet myself because it was always recommended by the most pretentious faggots who don't seem to know what fun is >>2842 Sounds kinda cool and makes sense for a mecha setting, but a bit slow if there wasn't much action in 7 episodes. >pic nighttime in 90s anime feels like such a different animal compared to now
>>2892 It does have a pretentious air about it. Really though, it's just a solid sci-fi mystery thriller.
>>2892 >Sounds kinda cool and makes sense for a mecha setting, but a bit slow if there wasn't much action in 7 episodes I started watching the anime and there is lot more action in that compared to the initial OVA. Downside is I didn't like some of the VA changes, but overall I have been enjoying it (I am about 26 episodes into it now). Once I finish those I have to see how the movie timeline differs as that has me curious.
Just watched Tanya the Evil to see if that was all hype or not. I was iffy after the first episode but I'm glad I kept watching since it got better or at least grew on me more. The premise of world war but with magic is simple but neat, and I like how determined she is to be a shitter to whatever god they all worship in that universe. Only major complaint is that I flew through it pretty quickly. Next up is the movie that I still need to go download.
>>3097 Just watched the movie. Commie killing edition was great. I liked it more than the anime. Mary Sue being op as fuck was annoying and if it were not for magic jesus saving her all the time, she deserved to die for being such a dumbshit. They chose the appropriate name for her though. I heard the anime is likely getting something new this year or beginning of the next so I am looking forward to that.
Finished a few more shows since I've been stuck in a bed due to medical bs. >MS IGLOO I liked it for the most part. I appreciate the smaller stories being the focus. The graphics for the first 2 parts looking like old game CGI were also strangely nice. The theme of almost everyone always dies got a bit tiring, but it made the end of the second part better when the last reveal is done. The third part focusing on Federation stuff this time was a good change, and they amped up the graphics, but the death god thing was fucking dumb and out of place. >War in the Pocket Another Gundam show in a row since I am watching the series from start to finish. I got this one spoiled for me a bit as I saw anons talking about the MC crying at the end. Even though Bernie got mulched, I'm glad his one takedown was against a Gundam when he was in a simple Zaku. >Stardust Memory This one I liked the supporting cast more than the MC and Nina. Those two were annoying. Giant lady and sexual assault man were entertaining. Burning's death was lame though. Cliche/predictable as fuck so that kind of ruined that part for me. The new MSs introduced were pretty cool though. Ending was kinda eh. Having their final showdown interrupted so he could suicide into some random ships was gay. I get the reasoning but I didn't like it. >Hellsing Ultimate One I have wanted to get to for a while. I enjoyed it. Seras is still my favorite character in it. Anderson is a close second I wish he survived. My only complaint is how quickly the plot moves along. I don't normally suggest this, but it could have done with a few filler episodes to flesh out the character relationships a bit so you got more invested. Especially for those that don't make it to the end. >Zeta Gundam Only two episodes in for this. What in the god damn is wrong with Kamille. I can't tell if he is just intensely autistic or actually retarded. Maybe both. Seeing the Titan dildos slap around Bright makes me hope the man gets his classic slap attack restored later for payback. Also I appreciate the red Zeon looking guy whose name I forget, actually cares about not destroying the colony or needlessly harming people. Most of the other shows have both sides being way too gungho about blasting the shit out of them. I also hope he fugs up those Titan dicks. Slapping the shit out of Bright has annoyed me greatly. >08th Team Genuinely enjoyed it throughout. Karen comes close initially to being disliked, but she was fine by the end. That fight with the Ace Gouf Custom was awesome. Definitely up there for one of my favorite gundam fight scenes. My only complaint again is how it is over so soon. I would have gladly watched more of it.
>>3559 Watched a bunch more of Zeta. Almost everyone on that show is fucking brain damaged in some way. Also the focus on Newtypes has made me rapidly grow to hate said newtypes. Oldtypes really are the best type.
>>3567 Finished Zeta. It got better towards the end, but the newtype stuff treading into full blown super space magic was ruining it for me. I didn't mind it in the original Gundam when it wasn't this powerful. Hell I didn't mind the suits with the psychic pilot connections either since again it was on the lower end of the fantasy powers. Forming magic shields and harnessing the lives/energy around them to power up just felt really over the top, so I hope they scale that back in the next part though I doubt they will. Also I don't entirely get why Kamille went vegetable mode at the end. Did he exhaust himself or was he really mind raped into oblivion by the baddie before that nigger died? Next up I moved onto: >ZZ Gundam I don't know what to make of this yet as I am only one episode in. Seems much lighter in tone even if that one crew member got killed off. Also fucking Bright can't catch a break with all the bs he has to put up with. Poor dude.
>>3582 Still working through ZZ. I appreciate that it is not nearly as miserable as Zeta was, but it does get too lighthearted at times. Last bunch of episodes were getting more serious so I will have to see how this progresses or if it will revert to silly shit again. I also learned a valuable lesson with this. Don't watch the next episode previews. Announcing that a specific character fucking dies next episode is not something you put in a preview. Show them in trouble sure, but you don't spoil it like that. What the fuck. Also does Zeon ever get tired of fucking dropping colonies on shit? I've heard the jokes about it, but I never realized how accurate they were. Niggers need to come up with some new material.
>>3632 Onto Chars counterattack. About half way through. Glad to see Amuro again as the MC, but disappointed Char is back to being a shit though. Also the teal haired little cunt needs to fucking die. I dislike every moment she is on the screen.
>>3638 I really enjoyed this. Doubly so when that annoying teal shit died. Shame her killer then got TK'd by a retarded kid. I also appreciate that they didn't kill off Mirai and her daughter. It really seemed like they were setting her up to get squashed. Question though: What the hell happened at the end. Did Amuro and Char survive? Or did they turn into the magic sparkle shit that moved the Axis? The one zeon lady crying more seemed to imply they died, but it ends before really confirming anything. The pyschoframe/whatever that little thing Amuro's gf had that was zipping around space had me confused too. Questions aside, I liked the zeon and feddies joining together at the end, but I was not a fan of how vague the ending is left for Amuro. >>3632 >Zeon ever get tired of fucking dropping colonies on shit? After watching this, no they clearly do not.
>>3639 >Did Amuro and Char survive? Or did they turn into the magic sparkle shit that moved the Axis? Very dead. >The pyschoframe/whatever that little thing Amuro's gf had that was zipping around space had me confused too. Both your first question & this come back in Unicorn. Basically though it's just a magic plot device.
>>3641 >Very dead. A shame. Though Amuro was probably too OP to let live. He was pretty much solo'ing zeon at that point. >Gundam Unicorn I will have to watch that next. I at least want to finish the UC Gundam stuff before I move on to something new. My friend was suggesting Fang of the Sun, anyone here check that one out before?
>>3649 >Fang of the Sun I'm gonna probably watch it soon. Looks good and am so excited that I got some model kits for the anime lol! Also wanna watch Xabungle and Space Runaway Ideon.
>>3649 Amuro at least goes out a hero for the entire planet. Yeah as far as UC stuff goes your next big stop should be Unicorn. For other mecha recommendations you'll have to give an idea of what you're looking for. More real robot war is hell series or super robot power of friendship?
>>3653 >I'm gonna probably watch it soon Post your thoughts here as you go along. I'll try to watch alongside you. >I got some model kits for the anime Yeah I looked up the show a bit the other day when I heard about it and the mech models look cool. Gives me Battletech vibes. >>3654 >Amuro at least goes out a hero for the entire planet Very true. I guess my main disappointment was that I just wanted to see more of him. I haven't really been enjoying the MCs in the other Gundam shows outside of a few so that was probably why. >For other mecha recommendations you'll have to give an idea of what you're looking for. More real robot war is hell series or super robot power of friendship I'm not entirely sure yet. Outside of Gundam I actually haven't watched many shows with mecha content. Gundam and Patlabor are the only two I can recall off the top of my head. If you could give me a sampling of some across the spectrum, I could see which ones get my interest.
>>3659 >Gives me Battletech vibes. Probably a reason for that.
>>3661 Oh wow, I had no idea it was involved in that bs. Now I want to watch it more.
>>3663 This vid might explain some stuff if you care: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=_tkyK6eUeYU
>>3671 Cool, I'll check it out.
5 episodes into Unicorn Gundam. Started off disliking it, but it is growing on me. Store Brand knockoff Char made me laugh when I saw him. His name being FULL FRONTAL didn't help that. Next episode seems to be about him, so hopefully I can take him seriously after that. Not sure how I feel about the rest of the supporting cast yet. Marcenas or however you spell his name, seemed like a good dude. The princess was good too. Also funnels are OP as fuck still. Poor grunt suits just get wrecked left and right. The ECOAS/whatever their name was guys had a cool MS that turned into a tank that I liked. They always turned into jets before so a tank was a refreshing change even if it got destroyed right away.
>>3702 4 episodes to go then I finished it. Full Frontal is still an eh character. Feels over hyped for what little he has done so far. Marcenas/whatever went completely off the deep end so that sucks as I liked him initially. The ECOAS and zeon guys were pretty cool so I'm glad they all ended up teaming together. Oh and it was good to see Bright actually get some degree of respect for once. That man deserves MC treatment at some point for all the bullshit and retardation he has to manage. It was nice to see him still keeping Amuro in his memory too. On the topic of old characters, Kai popping up to help was unexpected. Though I guess he has done it before so I should have known he might do it again. I'm glad they keep some old characters around instead of just randomly fucking them off to some random place where they are never heard from again. Now onto MSs. I really like the zaku replacement for this show. Really classy looking grunt suit. The marine variant with the claws was badass looking too. The Banshee and the Unicorn Gundams look dumb to me. I like the ideas behind them, but the actual designs are lame and kind of ugly. Also seeing the old grunt suits show up for that port battle was neat. A shame that went how pretty much anyone could predict though.
>>3707 Just finished it. Really mixed on the ending. Something that seems to be a trend with this series. Not sure why I can't get over the space magic shit newtypes can do. I have no problem with it being in something like 40K, but here it just feels out of place to me. Characters were kinda eh, and apart from laughing at Full Frontal's name, I doubt I will remember any after a bit of time. Overall, I'd say 7ish out of 10. Maybe a bit of bonus points since I liked some of the MS designs in this.
Just finished Dungeon Meshi. It was great. Kind of disappointed that there wasn't more Farlyn/Falin interacting with everyone after she's revived.
>>3788 Reread the last chapter just now. It really does gloss over all the interactions. You never even see Sureau confess. He just blushes. Also looks like it's finally getting an anime, by Studio Trigger on Netflix. Allegedly the mangaka refused to let it be animated until the manga was near done being published.
>>3104 >>3097 It's too bad they gave the ending away by telling you ahead of time that Tanya will lose. You think it's another case like Death Note where the mangaka was pressured to not let "the bad guy" win?
