Troubled Windows/OS-tan thread Anonymous 04/17/2025 (Thu) 17:49:25 No. 13179
Imagine if they actually made an anime about early 2000s operating systems, haha...
>>13179 It would be cute, Me-tan a best. I never used her OS, I went from Win98 to XP.
>>13435 I made her into a VM for me to try using Photoshop 4 on once, thankfully she didn't bluescreen.
>>13435 Same, my dad told me about DOS and it sounds like a pain to deal with.

>>13500 It's only a pain if you don't have a crumb of CLI experience. After spending hours at my job troubleshooting computers, DOS feels pretty much at home. Granted if you want to get things up and running on a VM you might have complications, mostly in terms of memory... At least when I was trying to use 3.1-tan (obabasama) at the same time.
>>13500 My family didn't get a computer until '98 and I wasn't really too interested in them when I was a kid, so I never used DOS until later in life trying out some old games in DOSBox.

>>13542 I started with a 98 computer I think, and I played Age of Empires on it. Later moved to XP where most of my gaming experience was on, I think I finally got rid of that thing all the way into fucking 2015 and got myself a gaming desktop after a long time saving. Still with me (but basically rebuilt into a 2020 machine)
>>13542 I only played Gex and a Spider-Man game where you could make your own scenes from the tv series.
>>13628 My fellow Ship of Theseus computer owner, I still use the case of my Alienware that I bought in 2008, but there's nothing else left other than an HDD which is now unused.
>>13787 You're literally me, but I did keep the CD drive.
(122.34 KB 1455x3018 1715285108954561.png)

>>13811 I upgraded it to a BD around a decade ago, but I still have the original CD drive along with some others and a floppy drive. I would have liked to keep it connected, but I ran out of SATA ports.

>>14047 I prefer RAMlets.
(87.76 KB 1025x589 31wip.PNG)

>>14268 That's fine, but we know who's the RAMletest of them all.

>>13523 old granny OS
>>13435 My dad bought a computer that came with ME. My brother got a pirate copy of 2000 to put on it because it was constantly crashing. Then a pirate copy of 98 because none of the software that came with it worked on NT. Eventually, dad bought a copy of XP and a new graphics card for it.
>>13179 We know which os would be yandere
>>28785 11 has been far worse about that than 10 was.
(266.21 KB 800x800 win 11.jpg)

>>28818 that much is true the generic "mesugaki" win 11 design I've been seeing is so trash, like it was leaked from blue archive or something
>>13179 >os-tans >frames on 4chan >ME-tan was the mascot TAKE ME BACK
>>13179 Given that the OS-tan originated on 2ch back in the early '00s I really hope that there's still some archives of the site's threads from back then, even if they were just semi-complete captures on the Wayback Machine. Also 2k-tan is best girl for me, she's always been a pretty reliable system aside from those malware incidents that happened year and a half after Win2k's release.
>>28832 Blue Archive designs are great though
