Witch Hat Atelier Anonymous 04/18/2025 (Fri) 20:24:14 Id: 4e76da No. 21699
>According to the leaker fuceo (I don't know if he's reliable or not) the anime adaptation of Witch Hat Atelier by BUG FILMS has been undergoing serious production issues I personally believe it since >The trailer of the anime was premade, like the one for Boogiepop, Mushoku Tensei, Shingeki no Kyojin S4 or Chainsawman meaning it doesn't represent the final product >The Anime was announced with a teaser image and then went radio silence for a long time, like Biscuit Hammer >BUG FILMS' adaptation of Zom 100 had lots of production issues too What do you think about this and the manga. I'm not up to date and paused after chapter 76 because I was getting tired of the current arc, specially since half the chapters of this manga have been during this arc, it really should have wrapped up sooner.
>>21699 Gorgeous art, ruined by abysmal writing. The early chapters were more engaging and had better development, I think it started after they left the tunnel. The scanlation was extremely slow back then so I dropped it for a bit, but I remember the following arcs lacked the substance of the previous ones and the "good" guys were annoying more than anything, so I just left it altogether. I have read the most recent chapters and apparently nothing relevant has happened for several chapters now.
>>22005 I kept enjoying the manga because of the world building and art. I understand what you mean about the characters being grating but I liked some of their dynamics. My problem was when the current arc started which has already been going on for 45 chapters, it has been unnecessarily long, they unceremoniously resolved multiple character arcs of the main characters and focused a lot on a bunch of new characters that are impossible to care about. I really don't see this manga ever recovering.
>>21699 don't care since it's boring shit
>>21699 I empathize with the brimhats points but how do they expect anyone to side with them when they keep forcing a little girl to run the gauntlet and fuck with her friends? That long as tapeworm demon arc is done but I won't bother with it for a few more chapters, I want to be able to just read the wrap up chapters for it and move on to the next arc
>>22911 Coco absolutely kills it with the evil fit.

>>22952 Wide-brimmed hats look objectively better than those stupid coneheads.
>>21699 It's a nice manga, irregardless of the author's political leaning.
It started out well, but the festival namek killed my interest to it. Slowly paced arcs on monthly series are always bad and the x-ray glasses chapter felt like an insult towards readers for how pointless it was on already sluggish arc.
leftie brainrot killed the manga
>>21699 Hope they can take their time. The trailer per se is fine but cannot compete with the manga. This would need a creative head that knows how to make shit artsy and translate the creative paneling.
>>25111 >>25609 Is this another case of an insane lefty doing a cool manga that gets bad after a while? Yukiimura did the same shit with Vinland Saga
>>25609 >>26136 What kind of leftie brainrot?
>>21699 The creator is a sjw due her working with marvel.
>>25111 >>25609 >>26136 >>26419 no one cares fag
>>26444 You do since you bothered to respond.
>>26244 Radical views including, but not limited to; >respect peoples' choices (including pronouns and personal boundaries) >sexual assault is bad
>>26618 >respect peoples' choices >sexual assault is bad That's also the moral I see in many anime >including pronouns and personal boundaries That not really.

>>26136 The author is a lefty and her social media accounts look like cancer because of it. That said the lefty things she insert on the manga aren't really a problem due to the setting and that he handles it far more tactfully than an average westerner could. What makes the manga bad now is as >>25196 said, this namek has taken over half the manga. It really felt that the author wanted to drag this shitty festival arc as much as possible then the editor told her to rush some stuff but rather than simply ending the arc like a normal person the author decided to extend the arc and resolve major character arcs in a rushed manner during this arc, it sucks so fucking badly. The only time lefty stuff in the manga left a bad taste in my mouth was the chapter where I stopped reading where they focus on this fag's flashback despite being an unimportant character to this point, his backstory not being related to the plot and it artificially extending this namek even further.
Every character other than Coco and Qifrey feels extremely shallow. >>25006 It's a shame that she'll likely never wear the brim hat. The author is an illustrator first, writer second so she couldn't help herself.

the characters are hot, so I'll continue reading it regardless of the woke brainrot and mediorce writing
>>22952 >evil that's the kinda thinking thats gonna ruin their society
I see threads for this manga still didn't recover
>>21699 Didn't the anime got announced like 2 or 3 years ago? Stopped reading the mango the moment the scanaltors stopped working on it after it got licensed
>>21699 Lol they haven't learned from Zom 100 Real shame to see the people who made Summertime Render go down like this
>>22911 The brim hats are grooming their future leader. She must be able to brave the fire and storm in order to bring about the zeitgeist they desire.
>>27569 Eh, I'll just content myself with the lewds. I can't really take another VS situation.
>>55706 I get it, it had so much potential during the first few volumes.
>>53915 >Real shame to see the people who made Summertime Render go down like this Tbf Summetime's production was also in the gutter for most of its run, straight up broken key animation, in-betweens and shit outsourcing every other week, with only a few episodes (most notably #15) delivering something that made use of the staff's full potential. Kojima really needs to figure out how to plan a series well, if Atelier goes badly this is going to be his 4th miss in a row I think?
>>54024 Yes, it's clear they're trying to get her to understand their way of seeing things and break with the pointed caps. As someone who isn't like any of them (born into the life), for her to look at the whole situation without the hundreds of years of baggage and say that the brims are right would be a very big win for them. I'm just saying, none of the problems she's worked to solve would have been problems if they weren't screwing with her in the first place, they're actively making her life and the lives of those around her worse - even if she gets where they're coming from why would she side with them at this point She's found a way to side step their intentions every time, with help sure but she's managed to reverse or diminish the effects of their assaults time and time again without breaking the pointed caps ways, so far all she's done is prove she's better than them imo

>>60624 So that's why Summertime Render randomly had Broly Culo, it was due to the outsourcing Knowing this it's honestly kind of insane that it ended up looking at least decent, guess they were tard-wrangled
>>61760 she' just way too cute
