>Being alive is better
Homura only wanting an ideal happy ending for Madoka disregarding any other ending that can be good or satisfactory will not convince me she was right. We'll never agree on this so no point on keep discussing this.
>They were about to witch out, not to die.
Yes, but that doesn't contradict what i say, it's even worse if you hear homura mentioning something like becoming monster and lay waste to the world
>Their soul gems were filled with despair, that's why they had these nihilistic thoughts they normally never have.
Madoka in the very same scene had a gem filled with despair and she didn't have those thoughts, she even said that the world is worth protecting. I don't know why use "they" if those words about becoming witches and wipe out everthing were only from homura, not Madoka.
Anyway if you think that is the soul gem filled with despair is to blame, and that's why what homura says is less reliable in that moment, then you should be consistent with what you say and apply the same logic when homura said "This emotion is mine alone" because she had her soul gem filled with despair too in that moment. Maybe that own unique emotion is not what what she normally thinks a can have a real world equivalent.
