Not gonna lie I was very disappointed when I saw it was going to be three minute shots. I was hoping there was going to be at least one entry into the franchise with proper storytelling, but nope, it has to all be teaser trailers or chuuni characters having dragged-out chuuni childrens card game matches.

It's visually a lot worse and it doesn't even bother to tell a proper story. The contents and the credits sure make it feel like april rolled around, some manager looked at his calendar and realized they didn't get anyone to work on the chronicle animations yet.

>>42808 Except the work clearly was done. Master Duel showed several fully developed scenes that could have been used and just weren't. Some of it even had lip flaps despite not being voiced in-game, implying it was made for a proper episode release. This looks more like management told the animation department to "make a Sky Striker episode" without specifying they just wanted a 4 minute ad, so 80% of it ended up on the cutting room floor. What a waste.

>>42846 Nothing in the MD short feels like a fully developed scene though. Everything in it feels like abridged cuts that are full scenes on a storyboard somewhere. So I doubt there are fully animated episodes sitting on a hard drive somewhere. But it is strange that they'd drop animated material that looks very much like it would fit right in with what they had announced would be coming out in 2 months time. There's a weird time skip in the MD short and there's at least one more ss short is coming out so my guess is that they were probably way behind schedule and decided to radically simplify the original plan, dumping what they had as part of MD event and just make one fully fledged scene for each chronicle short.
