We're really taking time with this one, with the group just slowly climbing the mountain. Segawa did a fantastic job in depicting the harsh environment surrounding the mountain, he managed to make the hanging bridge setup more brutal than I had imagined. Mob isekai where the MC is ACTUALLY a mob. That is, within the meta game plot the MC has the status of only a MOB. None of the meta main characters will pay much attention to him or assign any importance to what he says. Even if they interact with him directly it’ll be nothing more than if they said hello to a faceless servant. The plot should be about how the MC navigates the game world as a mob, doing things behind the scenes etc to reach his goals while also appreciating the hard work of the mobs who make the game runs smoothly in the background.

Also I want to subvert the shoelacer / kicked-out trope. My concept is that it starts out like a standard shoelacer setup, but as time goes on the reader notices how the MC can be an unreliable narrator. Then in a twist we find out that the MC was never weak and he just had a bad personality who liked being a burden for psychological reasons, and his osanajimi in the party didn’t betray him, but rather covered for him until she decided it was unhealthy to keep him in that kind of relationship in the team (but deep in her heart she was just sick of his bullshit). MC is actually the villain and quite strong now that he’s decided that he hates his friends for betraying his pure heart. Then the reader finally sees events from the other team-members’ perspective and they realize that the MC was actually an asshole and should have been gotten rid of long ago and all of the MC’s problems were self-inflicted. Not many writers have the ability to write such a character well so I’m not sure I could pull it off. But waiting for Japan to write it is like waiting for the Atlantic Ocean to evaporate.

A lot of stuff I heard is rock solid seems to just make shit up on the fly to me, and stuff that gets called a soft magic system has the most autistic solid rules ever sometimes.
