The whole thing is a damn shame. The manga was also going in a direction I didn't appreciate. I did not like the whole thing with how they decide each of them has a role to play and they settle in to a kind of status quo. The early chapters where Utena grew more perverted and audacious every time are sadly still the best part.

The first chapters started from zero so the story could upstage itself again and again, but once the level of lewdness and absurdity reached the top it was becomign harder to see it upstage itself again, the last chapters suffer from that The mecha girl was one last attempt to make a twist in the story, but it felt flat. The best course the story could take after it resumes would be to wrap up the main conflict about venalita shitting things up and then end the story. It was a funny lewd comedy but it has already burned out its joke.

I don't remember the exact chapter but at some point (after going berserk) Utena decides that she needs to keep herself in check and I think that was the moment the manga started going in a wrong direction. I think Utena should've "lost" that battle at some point. Give me corruption, mind break, NTR, betrayals on all sides, rampaging hordes of hentai monsters, and much, much, MUCH more! Sure it would've made some people mad but I think the manga could've been legendary and now it will be remembered as merely pretty good.

Just finished the anime. Gonna read the manga if I can find it anywhere. It's fucking amazing. I'm looking forward to the other two Tres Magia fully discovering and accepting their perversions to unlock their second level forms. Sad it seems from skimming this thread that it peters out in the end. It really was accelerating a little too fast at the beginning and started slowing down midway through. I'm surprised nobody said to Loco that now that she can sing well, she doesn't really need the whole world domination schtick since she can become a top idol organically with that skill. Instead she just stews angrily that the new boss doesn't want what she wants. Anyone else get good caps of Baiser looking sinister?

Another thing that felt off was Leopard's second form. I figured it would up the ante and she'd go half-mecha or something, but she goes nekomimi instead. Also, Venalita feeds Utena that story about being oppressed and it seems to just not really matter after that point. Why even make it up? She's already blackmailed into doing his bidding and firmly on the path of corruption to where she'll willingly fulfill his plans anyways. >>63016 >Soundless webm
