Apocalypse Hotel [airing] Anonymous 05/06/2025 (Tue) 17:25:47 Id: f2605e No. 65621
Episode 5. Ponkotsu Yachiyo, Tanuki hotel. _____ Broadcast: Tuesdays at 16:34 (GMT) / Wednesdays at 1:34 (JST) Studios: CygamesPictures Source: Original

Episode 2 airing today. All things considered, feels very fitting to the situation at hand. Anyone else watching?
>>4903 I just started downloading the new episode, I really liked the first one. It sucks that we can't have a normal thread like last week.

>>4903 Where's my shampoo hat...

>Her smile and optimism: RESTORED >>4986 Was Tasokare any good? I haven't checked it at all but seen many images of the main girl posted in different threads.
>>4987 Haven't finished it myself, but I thought it was surprisingly good. But maybe I'm biased because I also like Apocalypse Hotel and the Grand Budapest Hotel. I think all these shows creators just get that a hotel is one of those places that captures a feeling of belonging & hospitality, but also a feeling that you're just passing through. Very bittersweet nostalgia
Didn't like it as much as the first episode, but I'm still enjoying it.
>>4987 It was OK but it gets kind of budget and the ending wasn't very good. I think that Apocalypse Hotel is a better show in comparison.

I can't believe I got b for this pic on the other site...
>>5032 I REALLY hoped someone had saved it. Thanks. There was a webm too (and the guy who posted it happened to get double dubs), but this is good enough.

I won't even pretend to understand how this shit works, I'll just take it as a sign that not all's yet lost.

>>5023 Yeah I have to say the ending really soured me on it. It almost felt like they were shocked that it was suddenly the end and had to come up with a bunch of deus ex machinas to tie everything up. I hope it's just the result of a bunch of stuff being cut from the VN

>>4903 New episode was good, I’ve got faith in this one now.
Was the alien actually speaking a language? The 'no memah' seems to mean 'no money' so I was wondering if there was anything else consistent.
What is the genre of this show? I've seen the MC with the girls from other CGDCT shows, so it got me interested.
>>7901 >What is the genre of this show? Zetsubou comedy

>>7901 Post Apocalypse lighthearted comedy with lurking dread
>>7966 >>7901 dread says it I have a feeling this is going to get deeper and heavier as it goes on, and I predict a midpoint twist for now though that dancing with that vacant expression combined with that dissonant piano made me very upset, even if the rest of the episode was a laugh

>>8091 >tactical dork robot
>>4987 it becomes something very different to what we were promised very early on in like episode 4 and then tries to go back to the light-hearted episodic shenanigans like there isn't a massive sword of Damocles hanging over the series I started liking it more when the overarching plot came back into play towards the end and that final episode moved it up several spots in my ranking

>>9643 Cute professional
>>4903 Loving the show but the EC Robot part was nonsensical, how all that happened in just 100 years? For starters any change on the environment would take hundreds of years if not more, why would humans leave robots that struggle to even function for 100 years? And why would he consider eliminating an alien, I would understand seizing him and taking samples but straight out evaporating sounds dumb.
>>9938 sounds like a very human mindset to me
>>7979 I am looking forward to the anime getting more "intense" or darker, so far it mixes the humour and existentialism really wel.
What did you guys think of the OP?
>>8647 Was it just me, or did the announcement voice sound like Japanese GLaDOS?
>>10115 I really like it, the last 30 seconds with the instruments blaring and Yachiyo dancing is god tier. Some parts of the song took a few listens to feel "right" tho
>>10115 Perfect fit. There's a hint of the comedy, cozy mood but also the lingering incoming dread
>>10115 Beautiful. I swear I've heard of the artist before but I like that she sounds a little amateur and off key. They fact that it focuses so heavily on her voice accompanies by Yachiyo's solo dance is perfect.
>>10115 There's some slightly 'off' about it, and I think that's perfect for the show
>>10115 Visuals are good but the song is pretty lame until the very end and then well, it just ends, it works as an OP but is not something I would add to my playlist.
Help, how do I not fall in love with Yachiyo?
I like it so far The dance in the OP was cute and I wonder why are all the other humanoids dead
>>7901 >>7966 A description another anon gave which I think fits very well is the futile sisyphean experience.
>>10566 Fall in love with another cute robutt
>>10645 Won't that just make me a haremfag?
>>10648 I meant instead of wanting to clank the Acting Acting Manager of the Gingarou Hotel
>>4903 opening is really cute, is it any good?
>>4903 >the alien actually acts like one
>>7979 I'm afraid of picking it up because of this. I'm too much of a softie.
Liking it a lot after ep2. Sakamoto as murderhobo robo was a pretty good cast too. >>9938 Depends on what happens with the environment. I mean the prologue made it seem like the contagion or whatever spread in a matter of months or years at longest. So it wouldn't be too far-fetched to think it'd be over in a century or two. Having the bots die within a century is pretty bad engineering though.
>>7979 >>10863 I think we'll be fine as long as she doesn't sing a song about how happy she is to be alive. That's a death sentence for a cute robutt in any anime >>10887 >Having the bots die within a century is pretty bad engineering though. Maybe their AI is just a 10,000 plus line php file running on an obsolete version of BSD...
So this is where you all were. I mis my filters...
>>10905 Most of everybody seems to be ghosting /a/ actually.
>>10895 But did they get bought up by a nip who doesn't even into computers?
>>4903 I love how suddenly emotional she can get. Yachiyo acts like a robot (she is one and all) she seems like she doesn't notice some oddities but then it's clear she does. Like when she mentioned she's unsure if she even communicates with the alien. What really threw me off in the first episode when she loses patience with the door opening robot and uses harhs/impolite language and sounds PISSED. Hilarious but up to that point it'd think that such emotion was beyond her but it's clearly not. Also in first episode when she's recalling memories and the dead robot comes in like an intrusive memory. It almost feels like when she's happy, smilling and goes about her day, it's almost a persona she puts on. This is why her dance in the opening makes me feel uneasy. It's almost like there's something hidden within it which you can't quite grasp yet.
>>10947 There's no explicit confirmation that this is the case, but I get the feeling that her AI is more advanced than the others, in particular because she's more client interaction oriented (running the front desk, engaging in tea ceremonies, dealing with guest complaints, serving food, etc.) and the others are more task oriented (cooking, cleaning, opening doors, moving luggage, murdering flies, gardening, etc.) She's also one of only two robot staff (until environmental checker robo-san joins the team) that can actually talk in anything other than beeps, and even then Doorman robo-san's interactions with people would mostly be around entry to the building and inquiries about the area. So the persona aspect could be a lot of things that she's basing on how she saw human staff members interacting with each other and them. Not quite a cargo-cult but almost puppet like (which some of her dancing seems to resemble) /end stream of consciousness
(1.61 MB 1920x1080 oA20qtO.png)

The dance Yachiyo performs seem to be a duet dance but performed alone.
>>10969 We all know what happens when you leave AI alone too long They go a bit peculiar
>>10895 Basically heart says: "Hey it's a cute robot girl anime, check it out anon. Don't you like robot girls?" description from rec thread on another imageboard made it sound great. But brain says: "AVOID AVOID AVOID, VIVI 2.0, IT HAS ALL THE DEM RED FLAGS FOR IT, STAY AWAY DUDE, YOU KNOW HOW IT'LL TURN OUT." I'll watch it anyway.
>>10982 [Joke about having the same IQ as 6000 4chan mods goes here] >>10997 Bibi, every other sister series robot, the Tachikomas, Atri, Ciel, pretty sure that a robot sang in Time of Eve, Planetarian, etc. etc.

>>11061 I once went to an altchan and made a thread about a videogame I was playing. During this utter shitshow I went back and found it's still there, almost a decade later. These places are basically windows to an older, better time.
>>11098 I took a brief stroll into 7chan and saw threads from 14 years ago, older than the average sharty user.

Things used to be reasonably slow, and to be honest most 4chan posts were shitposting, trolling, bots and culture war nonsense. Remove all of them and the site would be much better, but also slower. >>11344 Literal overheat
>>11344 If Doorman ever fails to open the door for someone he's going to snap and kill everyone.
This should be the OP image of the first Apocalypse Hotel thread when 4chan returns.
>>11377 I really hope we get a scene with Doorman robo-san dumping water over Yukiyo
>>11344 How would she respond to a marriage proposal?
>>11414 You just know that had to have happened to at least one of the robots when humans were around
>>11381 He failed in this very episode since the alien was too fast to run out
What does it mean?
>>11444 They had Demolition Man sex. The container he gave her at the end was their child
But why did the owner outfit her with a watter kettle that she has to unlock by accomodating an extraterrestrial guest in the first place?
>>11483 Maybe this how robots get promotions.
>>11505 So, her next function she unlocks is the ability to shoot ripe tomatoes out from her non-existing boobs if she takes care of a family of shapeshifting raccoon dogs.
>>11523 >non-existing boobs That's kinda hot
Who would win? Flyswatter bot with its mini-laser gun, or environment check bot with its big-ass laser cannon?
>>11545 Flyswatter bot. He's took the shot the moment he had the opportunity, Environment Checker doesn't have that killer instinct
>>11409 Exactly what I was thinking.
>>11444 Just as God and Man gained greater understanding through touch, so to can aliens and robots.
>>10887 >Sakamoto as murderhobo robo Which Sakamoto are you talking about? The robot's va is Mikishin
>>10812 >On some mission to get samples or something >Dumb exploratory robot won't leave you alone
>>11106 I went to 7chan only because I remembered it existed and I'm pretty sure I saw a post I made back when 4chan went down around Covid.
>>10812 I found it really charming how the alien was largely incomprehensible, it makes it easy to get in yachiyo’s head wondering whether or not it’s actually enjoying the hotel and makes the revelation that both some level of communication has been founded and that it’s more human than you anticipate at the start (doing things like swimming for leisure) a lot more enjoyable
>>13359 I'm putting it all in the hat of >>9123 that alien-san is going to be the best bro on the show and end up saving everyone's smiles with his weird but oddly-human antics.
>>9123 That seed is his son. He was examining earth to see if it's a suitable home for his kid.

>>28377 I think we'll see more aliens show up instead, humanity is probably dead for the time being in this universe. I do still kind of hope for a relatively happy ending, maybe something about finding a new purpose in this decaying world so the remaining robots can find a way to rebuild the allies they lost and maybe even build new ones.

Now that I installed a bunch of user scripts everything works as well as 4chan including Watched Threads windows directing me to the first unread post and everything is so much chiller here. I am not even saying that we should stop calling each other faggots, but 4chan threads were barely even discussions anymore. Most anime I wanted to discuss were full of haters, ritual tards that complained about the same shit in every thread of every anime and "ironic" watchers that got mad if you called a series good. I will absolutely stay here unless everybody but myself is leaving. The slowness is rather an upside too. It could be faster. But I like that the threads stay for a while. This is just a worse YKK in every single way. The comedy is almost, but not entirely, terrible in execution and does a lot to undermine any longing for humanity Yachiyo expresses. The first episode almost had a good balance of comedy and iyashikei but this second episode feels much worse comparatively. It's also hard to take anything seriously when the hotel owner is on screen, he looks retarded.
>>36178 Now this is a shit take This anime is an absolute masterpiece
>>10115 Brilliant artistry in motion pure aural kino
This being produced by CyGames and the ending of episode 2 make me wonder: is this the start of a marketing campaign for yet-to-be announced mobile game? There's also a spin-off manga running concurrently.
>>36178 I love YKK, but this didn't give me the same vibe really, it felt more just like a comedy I wasn't expecting Iyashikei from it.
>>36178 this show is comedy first and foremost with the more existential elements being present on a thematic level but not taking a lot of hold over the tone, I went in with no expectations and enjoyed it a lot but if you're expecting the show to play things completely straight you're kind of gearing yourself for disappointment

My frontrunner for aots after ep2. The azibelpher robo was a great addition to the cast and the whole sci fi apocalypse theme seems non-generic enough. And op is dance kino.

Not really sure how I feel about these guys overall. I thought the plant fella was more interesting because he seemed truly alien and Yachiyo working hard to come to an understanding with him was fun. The Tanukians meanwhile have already conquered the language barrier and have no problem communicating, and it seems like Yachiyo already curbed the worst of their behaviour problems this episode. Makes you wonder what their role will be for the rest of the show, besides Ponko learning the magic of Doing it For Free.

The toilet humour was unexpected, not quite a fan of that but everything else was fantastic as always. Yachiyo was definitely at her angriest here. I wonder if that is foreshadowing something, especially when they gave her red eyes for a while, though I might be reading too much into it, but her mental state was wawering ever since episode one, she is clearly doing her best to smile and push through but she always cracks somehow.
Keep in mind that earlier decades ago Yachiyo was screamed at by a costumer for hours and probably didn't even flinch. This robot is losing it

I was kind of worried the tanuki family would bring the show down but they're pretty fun too, not really sure where the show is going to from here though feels like a lot has happened even with only 3 episodes
>>46158 I feel they should've been one and done like the plant dude. I guess we'll have to see what exactly they're going to contribute to the story. I cant imagine they're being kept around to simply be annoying, at least I hope not.
>>46158 I think it'll be fine if they don't overstay their welcome. So long as they actually leave after the 300 days or so and we only have a 2-3 episode arc before another timeskip, I don't think they'll end up being too annoying. The whole show seems to be wacky in general as opposed to only a few characters being wacky, so I think they're fine so long as they don't take over the whole show.

>>47826 >>45900 >>45456 im assuming a nuclear reactor of some sort. Self-contained small one. Bear in mind the human evacuation of earth is presumably set over 100 years in the future, such tech could surely be stabilised and minimised in that timeframe. There is alot of suspension of disbelief required to enjoy this anime, the food in particular. Sure, they grow crops, but who's fishing the seafood? where are the cows kept? who butchers them? do they just cook 150+ year old food they had mega-stockpiled in the freezer every day? I wouldnt theorycraft how the hotel remains running, you'd just get a headache and enjoy this AOTY less. Bear in mind they don't seem to be able to steal from other places, so scrounging for materials or maintenance parts seems beyond them. The robots are still slavishly loyal to human norms, laws and customs.
>>48183 they do literally show solar panels on the roof though, maybe all of society was passively roof-solar'd and the grid is justfine
>>48191 they still need power at night anon, hell, thats when the robot staff recharge their own batteries. Also, modern solar panels are rated to last ~25 years at peak performance at max. Sure, maybe they run a large building they deliberately keep fully operational all day long, then reduced functionality all night long while the remaining staff recharge, and these magic panels from the future last longer. But bear in mind, in our current society, literally NOTHING we make is built to last. I bought like 6 Colgate whitening toothpaste tubes a decade ago in bulk thinking id make savings, but they hurt my teeth so i didnt use 5 of them, they gathered dust under my sink for 8 years, sitting hole-down on their lids without being touched, then the melted plastic tag-backends degraded, separated, and leaked the toothpaste onto the shelf. My bathroom was extra minty that day. Toothpaste tubes can't last a decade without degradation even under optimal conditions. To be fair you're probably right, they have some unknown special magic power-storage batteries, and solar panels made with technology we dont possess today. Its the most logical rationale. I just dont like it
Since the tanukis are aliens that throws out my idea of various yokai coming out of hiding now that humans are gone But if we're going to be seeing different aliens then the idea is essentially the same
>>48183 You should assume that hotels weren't the only ones using robots for automation.
>>48196 peak performance would be peak hotel energy usage and that is clearly long past. most of the bots are down and there's no guests. maybe door opening robot runs on steam or some shit, that guy is weird. we totally do have durable designs for batteries and solar panels and things they're just not useful if replacements can exist.

>>48266 potentially power plants or utilities might indeed be run/maintained by AI robots, im not sure how well some utilities would survive with zero usage for a century though, wouldnt sewer/water pipes just implode or some shit? however i don't recall the monitor-bot saying anything about that, he wasnt able to find a single other AI alive other than the remaining robots at Gingarou in the last few decades.

>>48923 I feel like that would be a bit of a cop-out. >>49901 I get the impression humanity is definitely extinct but I feel like things will be more about yachiyo coming to terms with it and learning to serve aliens at the hotel as the last bastion of what humanity once was. With the tone so far and most of yachiyo's breakdowns being played for comedy just as much as genuine emotional beats I don't see them going for a really downer ending
>>49901 I'm under the impression the the planet will either be repopulated by aliens or Earth is going to just become an intergalactic pit stop with the hotel.
>>50085 >>49930 Honestly, these both sound like pretty good places for the show to go, I actually think the intergalactic pit stop would be a pretty fun idea. anyone else feel like they should have waited to release this, and release the first 3 episodes at once? it might have helped with reviews or hype, to see the direction the show goes in, also the bingeability of the show would have worked great.
>>53277 I don't think the correct solution to a mid first episode is just giving people more episodes to watch. Batching is a bandaid.
>>53277 That just kills discussion for weeks while nothing new is coming out, like over on >>28427.
>>53277 Completely disagree. I don't think 'hype' and 'bingeability' are what this show is going for, nor should it. The first episode was a perfect hook already and burying the weight of driller robot and Yachiyo's subsequent shampoo hat meltdown under this host of new characters in the same episode would have only done a disservice to those severe tone-setting moments. There's very rarely a reason to batch a first episode unless you really want to make a mission statement that can't be done in 24 minutes. And even then, most shows that do that like Frieren and Oshi no Ko tend to completely drop that over the rest of their run. It generates quick buzz for no lasting returns. I don't think Cygames has any delusions that this will be the popular hit of the season, so they don't need to sacrifice a comfortable pacing for that. I'm sorry if that means you have to sit and think about the show for a minute instead of getting it all now now now
>>53394 i meant they should have waited until they had finished the first 3 eps, as in, the 4th would still come out next week. >>53551 so long as the studio can afford the lack of attention its great products get, sure, whatever, they can do what they like. Actually, come to think of it, maybe it'll turn out all the "aliens" are human experiments of what humans have turned themselves into to survive? I find it suspicious as fuck that this dark setting where humanity built arks and flew into space and supposedly all died is also home to goofy comedy aliens who do nothing but casually dick about the galaxy.
>>53969 They're just annoying Now imagine if they were like the Covenant.
Hey, we might see a new outbreak within a few years where the rich elites pool their money together to quickly build a Pillar of Autumn and run out of supplies and resources in space
>>53277 I don't think there was any way to generate hype about this show. It's such a niche concept. Especially not in a season with big names like Gundam, Anne Shirley, Yaiba, Umas and whatever else I forgot.
>>54119 All these good sci-fi settings you could reference and you chose fucking Halo.
>>53987 even in a sci-fi universe densely populated with various alien races. Statistically it'd be insanely barren, and finding spacefaring life-forms would be an extremely rare find. The alien races would have 'shipping lanes' and trade hub worlds where there's life everywhere sure. Outside of that? yeah, its entirely possible that human ships that are barely faster-than-light, the best case scenario here, would not find anything, and slowly these generational ships would degrade and fail and everyone on board would die before a ship finds a habitable, or terraformable world to inhabit.
>>54182 Kiss my ass Halo used to be good
>>54392 It's always been bright candy colored aliens and 14 year old boy MUHREEN fetish nonsense. I get the games are fun but the setting is trash.
>>54392 Halo setting is like 40k from Temu. Cringe shit for kids, you still enjoy original DBZ too i bet.
>>54392 Don't worry, I still love Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST and Reach. 4, 5, and Infinite don't exist.
>Not a single owari des in all of episode 3 I swear if these silly tanuki end up fixing her
>>54407 i never liked the games but the setting is best ever
>>54682 >>54461 the setting being a "halo" ringworld, not the aliens and shit.
>>54461 >40k from Temu. Cringe shit for kids 40k is a solid contender for the most manchild franchise of all time
>>54921 before the femstodes debacle, it was the least gay and lame scifi universe running, that wasnt some navel-gazing autists wet dream like a fire upon the deep or something. there was a ~18 year period, a sweet spot in the 40k lore, that was the most badass 'raging against the dying of the light' fictional franchise in existence. But globohomo poisons everything, marxist entropy infected it too. I dread the horrors that anime will unleash when the pozz infects it too.
>>48923 someone build those tanuki's spaceship, I'm pretty sure if they got faster than light travel, they can fix our tech
>>55170 Not necessarily
>>55203 *Nyot nyecessarily
>>54921 40k is basically the b-sama scifi version of jjk, gantz, etc edgekuso, and i mean edgekuso in the best possible way I like that stuff too anyone jerking off the series is extremely retarded tho
So which theory of the fermi paradox does this fit into?
>>55439 fermi paradox is just anthropocentric fallacy and just the hubris of the academic community to not be able to say "we don't know" and "there's no way we could possibly know" and leave it at that

>>65001 What? I was saying the Tanukians are fucking silly and feasibly would have a much lower chance than humanity for surviving long enough to reach the stars. That said, I don't think all humans are dead, and maybe only a few ships failed and were destroyed.

The Tanukis are still kind of annoying and it's extremely hard to believe they'd survive floundering about in space considering they behave like animals but humans couldn't. >>54682 >>54684 The ringworld is literally just a Banks Orbital. Halo didn't invent those.
>>65823 They are smarter than they seem tho. Their small brains can store lots of information. Able to learn fluent japanese + many other alien languages.
The best day of the week has arrived again! AND THE TANUKIS ARE TRYING TO BREAK MY 'BOT! To be honest I prefer normal Yachiyo. >>65786 You can see Ponko counting there and giving up, so her being 54 years old might as well be made-up. But since nothing changed in 15+ years it's either like fucking elves or a plothole. Didn't the Tanukis originally only want to stay a week? I guess Ponko gets paid enough to finance their stay. Or maybe all hell breaks loose when they want to check out.
I might have to try peated whiskey someday. Peat is just decomposed swamp moss, but this anime made it look tasty.
>>65828 it is tasty. the anime even mention islay, which produces the smokiest scotch. this one is my new cheap islay favorite.
>>65826 Anon, the tanukiin homeworld has literally gone to shit, so there's nothing worth returning home to.

>>65883 >4chan is back. Yes, and it sucks even more than it used to. >>65621 >Thread marked as 05/06/2025 >earliest reply 22 days ago, hundreds of others replies too i'm assuming you can edit threads, and thread edit date overwrites thread creation date here? funky The anime is good. >>65969 It's not edit or modified, I explained here >>65203 , the old thread is merged into a new thread. It's a test to see if anons likes the idea of updated OPs, the problem is that it removes the old thread of the watched list
I really like this. The soundtrack is sweet, when was the last time I heard violins? The backgrounds are beautiful, as well as overall visual style. Even the 3D animation actually looks pleasant. I normally dislike stories about robots, but you kind of have to assume that the characters you follow are ensouled and can make choices. How exactly are they different from my PC might as well belong to suspension of disbelief land. As long as we take that for granted, we can enjoy compelling explorations of creatures with dramatically different psychology. Yachiyo is very fun to watch in this sense Now expectations/speculations 1.More aliens. The hotel seems to gradually attract fame. Some of them will help with repairs. 2.There’s something up with the planet. Desertification? Alien predators roaming about? Though the last one might just be alien visitor's poor sanitary standards. 3.Yachiyo is special. She survived that long not by accident, and the unlockable features are more than jokes. She will be forced to increasingly depart from letter (and spirit?) of the rules she's supposed to follow through necessity and consider what they really mean 4.The episodes are named after the hotel slogans so far. Attentive viewer might predict some of the developments based on the slogans that are still left. Though note how there are only ten of them, and 12 episodes. 4.I'm a human truther. The return will happen. "you're dumb" you might say, "it's been too long", "we're having melancholy soaked tale here, read the room" you might say. But 確率よりも可能性です
>>65976 seems a bit pointless. it's as if the goal is to maximize thread life expectancy while they already seemingly never die >it removes the old thread of the watched list kek
>>65977 If humans never come back then it will somewhat similar to Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou or Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou but without traveling. >The difference is that Yachiyo clearly is a robot and she has the mental rigidity-restrictions of one.
>>65980 If it improves engagement and avoids an outdated OP I think is ok, but I'll let others to make the new OP is they actually like the idea.
(20.96 KB 477x472 41TN0fbrwmL._AC_.jpg)

>>65789 It's okay, they're just sharing a delicious flump marshmallow. :^) >>65833 It's all good fertiliser! Maybe they'll return eventually and kick everyone into farming wheat, barley, and hops. They seemed to have a farming culture to begin with so maybe it's happened that way in the past too. A shit cycle. >>65969 Always rifle through seasonal charts the weeks before. There's a bunch of shows being released on wherever the fuck that you have to actively search torrents for, wouldn't have known they were coming if I didn't check trailers and blurbs. Apocalypse Hotel caught me off guard when I was doing my usual checks, the title and blurb sounded pretty serious, but when the trailer came out it was warm and bright and cheery. Originals are fun gambles, but comedy/SoL with some darkness in the back made it a must try. >>65977 >normally dislike stories about robots Same. Yachiyo's easter eggs and deviating from protocol as she learns have been really good for freeing up her responses to the world and making her feel less rigid. >more aliens who could help with repairs I really wish they could bring or make parts to revive some of the old staff, though I'm tempering my expectations to just getting Doorman some coolant. Though since the tanuki joined there's nothing stopping an alien robot from joining them and finding new cultural barriers. >10 mottos and 12 episodes I thought about it around ep 2, and I'll bet they'll add their own motto by the end. There's nothing stopping one motto from needing two episodes though. >humans will return I hope they come back evolved in some odd way. It'd make an easy gag if the aliens mistake them for more aliens.
it would be really sweet if someone joined Yachiyo's dance in final OP

Last episode was easily the funniest.
I'm a little behind, but that episode with the mad scientist cat guy in his mech suit was pretty cute. Sometimes this series gets so goofy I forget humans have gone extinct and it started on a serious note. I guess he killed the knock off space Avengers?
>>69551 I'm weeks behind too, ponkotsu (t . t)
>Sarge is coming for you...
This series have become so silly I refuse to believe humans are extinct if all these goofy fucks are casually zooming around the galaxy. Humans are amazing engineers, yet they can't survive in space when silly Tanuki aliens who behave like animals can? Yeah, bullshit. They'll come back in episode 12, even if it's the door opening to the Hotel and all the characters looking shocked while Yachiyo just smiles and says "Welcome back".

I was late finishing it, but man that was really good. Episode 11 was absolutely the best one. It was so scenic and soulful even with minimal dialogue. >>69560 Hey, I was right! The shower cap scene was a fantastic pay-off. The first human in 500 years shows up and one of the first things they do is lose their shit because they saw a shower cap, which then gets Yachiyo excited. 15/10 show, it'll probably be one of my favourites this year unless this season or autumn are especially good.
