Is that show worth watching?
>>7339 Can he double jump?
>>7418 Honestly, yes. First ep is slow to get going, but it does set up a good tone for the show.
>>7339 Thanks for reminding me of this I hope it's as good as cowboy bebop and samurai champloo
When do you think it was written? In 2003?
>>10712 >muh climate change Probably written by AI slop like everything else.
>>7418 No, the writing sucks balls. These two episodes have gotten me into a crisis as I don't know whether watanabe was genuinely a hack or if it's the fault of james demarco
>>12173 Watanabe is not a hack - he simply cashed in a shelved turd for Netflix money. Good for him.

3 episodes in and it's still such a bunch of nothing and I see they still persist with 1 day passed per episode (26 days left when episode 3 ended). Surely this won't have 2-cour?
>Spike ANd Fay VAs in this Jet VA died
lazarus muxeranon you can post your [DeMarcoMustGo] release here or on the ghost thread on desuarchive I'll post it on nyaa like I did the prev two weeks, hopefully immediately this time

>>29835 MuxAnon here. Glad to see you're still around NyaaAnon! I ended up finding someone else to upload during 4chan's downtime. If that falls through I'll let you know. DDL will still be posted here and in the ghost thread.
I thought this show was okay. No idea why the hate. If nothing else it looks and sounds good. Most anime in the last few years have been a lot worse than this.

>>29835 >[DeMarcoMustGo] Lazarus - S01E03 (WEB 1080p x264 AAC) https://mega.nz/file/pNxVTB6K#T3DrQ-Czsud9IZ01ipRERcebfvRVcs2eR_ZjVCY6oCk Other uploaders did not come through hence the delay. If you could upload please, NyaaAnon. Sources: Video, English audio, and SDH dubtitles via AMZN US (ToonsHub) English subtitles via AMZN FR (Tsundere-Raws) Japanese audio via VIDIO ID (ToonsHub) Japanese audio retimed, subs restyled. Sub timing is still stock AMZN. The DKB team have agreed to upload these releases for me meaning they should come out on time from now on. Expect them 2/3 hours after the show airs on Adult Swim. Expect Commie after about 12-15h. A few different things to talk about this week. This is the last time I will rant about streaming releases unless something changes. Commie have fixed their v1 encode. If you are comparing this release to Commie (provided both of them are available), grab Commie. You'll get better video and sub timing + formatting. Script edits are minimal which is fine given the base is good. Every source for this show is cursed in its own special way. Keep in mind that sources with English audio are unfinished: - Adult Swim streams at 29.970/30fps and looks worse than HIDIVE at nearly 900MB. English audio only. - MAX streams at the correct framerate but their encode is HIDIVE tier. English audio only. - VIDIO streams with Japanese audio at the correct framerate but has the worst encode of the bunch. Fucked up their audio volume this week and last week. - Channel 4 streams at 25FPS and pitches their audio up for no reason. English audio only. - IQIYI streams with Japanese audio and the correct framerate... at 480p with MTL subs. - AMZN FR streams at the correct framerate with a decent encode and proper English subs. English + French audio with hardsubs. - AMZN US streams at the correct framerate with a decent encode. English audio and dubtitles only. Fucked up the timing of their dubtitles last week. Released early this week so all is forgiven. - U-NEXT streams at the correct framerate with Japanese audio but doesn't release for 10 hours. Their encode is subpar and beaten by AMZN. - NF JP and DNSP JP stream at the correct framerate with Japanese audio and have the best encodes of the bunch. Too bad they don't release for 3 days. - Hulu... is Hulu. No comment needed. - I haven't been able to source anigamertw or CANAL+. Lastly, I have seen some people referring to this as a fansubbed release. This release does not meet that definition as the subtitles are unchanged from AMZN FR besides styling. The official translation for this series was done by zoid/zoid9000. Send your regards to him for the subs, not me. Send pipe bombs to Jason DeMarco. Thanks.

Enjoy your autism.
I started watching it with my dad (dubbed in Spanish and we've gotten into it. He liked Cowboy Bebop back in the day too, so that tracks. So far it's just really fluid animation with entertaining characters and a promising premise. I doubt it'll try to be deep or melancholic, but it's a fun ride.

>>7339 Champloo basically had a Spike too. There was no Spike in space Dandy. Mainly since Dandy was a ranged attack. And fought like shit.
>>7339 So he's Spic Spiegel?
>>7339 Watanabe is a hack.
>>27583 I apologize to Carole and Tuesday.
Watanabe is such a washed fucking fraud he's worse than Kojima, no wonder they both sucking each others dick. The stupid white dude is playing basketball with the cliche token black kid while the oppressed black scholar is progressing the mission doing smart talk with the old white bum. Fuck off with your lefty pandering, you haven't made anything good since Champloo.
>>33629 >he's worse than Kojima Kojima is based and his games (game) are still interesting.
>>33641 Death Stranding is dogshit. His next game will literally be him masturbating over hollywood actors and actresses. His army of drones is the worse gaming fandom on the planet who forgives him everything because he got fucked by Konami. Kojima and Watanabe got so high on western success they think themselves as superior to their japanese creator peers despite the fact Watanabe as never made anything close to the level Imaishi and Yoko Taro washes Kojima faggot ass entire career with 3 games.
>>33730 Death Stranding is great. Except for combat.
Is the black dude retarded. Skinner is right there.
>>30471 >sponsored by the west Many such cases.
>>33629 Funny enough I loved the new episode of to be hero x which was about a black firefighter turning hero and a girl he saved. Saw nobody complain about it either. It can be done right, but the story felt genuine and all characters involved were likeable. It's always painfully obvious when someone tries to preach something. Just make stories develop and progress naturally, man. Also the most important part for a road trip like this should be engaging characters and so far I like absolutely nobody in Lazarus. And that's coming from someone who usually prefers adults and criminals in fiction.
>>7339 >what if cowboy bebop was bad? quite the bold choice, let's see if it pays off
Yeah, it's something I realized at some point. It boils down to lead by example vs force-feed opinions. No one cares if a good character you could look up to is a nigger. It gets annoying when you are constantly told how you're supposed to feel about a character. I don't really understand why the latter seems to be the way to go for most western media nowadays. Even the normalfags caught on at this point.
Man this is so fucking ass. The animation is hard to follow and no wonder - when I checked frame by frame it's just random teleporting. I'll keep watching just cause this season's empty as fuck but god, Watanabe just keeps recycling the same trash for his entire career as per usual with popular hacks.
>>35059 it ate the images, laggy hours so annoying
>>34911 >so far I like absolutely nobody in Lazarus It's not like there's anything to like or even dislike about them. Doesn't help that they definitely are all "criminals" with a golden heart who got arrested over some nothingburger reason like MC and the black dude.
>>32639 You just know
There are a bunch of issues the show has but my biggest problem is the writing. I still think it's stupid that the world would just tell a bunch of random criminals to find Skinner for them instead of, you know, sent actual feds after his ass. Thing is the show doesn't even try to explain it which kills my immersion before it even starts. There are also a bunch of issues I have with the drug itself as well as Skinner's behavior and logic albeit some of them could be resolved if the doomsday speech was a lie to begin with, so I won't condemn the series for something that might not even happen. But there are many small things that irk me. Like hacker girl knowing that there are just three hackers in this whole world that pull something like the Skinner face flood off. How can you know something like that? Genius hackers always appear out of nowhere at some point. This isn't like a normal job where you know that there is just one US president right now or something. Or blonde woman's train of thought that makes her say that Skinner must be sinister and hide dark secrets because he did a bunch of normal good things. Examples but there are so many lines in this show that feel odd as fuck to me. The dialogues in general feel stilted.
>>35432 why are you analysing anime writing like this? It's not worse than the avg isekai スロップpa is it
>>34911 >>34911 >Behold, a black man Is this about slightly more pronounced lips? Part of me can relate, but you are like a `nam veteran who shits him pants when he hears a loud bang
i think the actual plot isn't even that important to begin with, it's just le action and jumping and running around that's most important in this anime which is uhh a weird thing to sell for an anime?
>>7339 Isn't Spike already a giga-mutt
>>35748 Spike is meant to be fully japanese apparently, despite the jewish name.
>>35951 Wasnt he based off this jew
>>35968 nope, some Japanese actor, any other similarities are allegedly coincidential.
>>32639 At least the shota is cute
>>7418 It’s trans
>>12173 Actually look through the credits of the show instead of mindlessly parroting shit like a drone. How many times do you see "Jason Demarco"? I count none. You had better look at the scriptwriters and see how many mutual staff are shared among Watanabe's other shows of you want to go about figuring out who was really making all the creative decisions. It's underwhelming compared to his other works, for sure, but it's not like you can strike it out of the park every time. Even a director like Tomino has a few duds under his name.
>>34015 well retard punch someone for muh racism
>>30471 >by the way I'm trans and that means I'm not talking >so I was talking to someone and he said something I didn't like, so I went apeshit crazy on his ass >you convinced me I'm not entirely sure what I was supposed to get from this conversation but is just so lazily done.
>>34015 If he just appears in the background of every episode I'd respect the show at all.
>>37182 Unironically thinking Watanabe made this dude trans just to deliver the 'i'm a transgender' line.
>>35968 >>35985 Retards he was based off of a character from Lupin III
>>35985 i still don't buy that there was no inspiration to be honest, sure the yusaku matsuda stuff was obviously the main inspiration but some parts of the long goodbye feel so close that its hard to dismiss. maybe that version of marlowe is just some platonic ideal of down & out detective, idk
>>12331 >>18421 Too bad her show sucks because I genuinely like her design and the fact that she's voiced by Vermeil's seiyuu
>>36905 It's produced by Adult Swim, so any chance it had to be good is swept away by their fucking meddling
>>37722 Prove it or stick to shutting the fuck up
>>37728 Everything about it just feels like it. I'd rather just go watch Bebop again
>>37728 >Prove it he uses arcane powers of pattern recognition, you will get there too if you watch more anime
>>37741 Yeah I watched all of Lycoris Recoil instead of this shit.
>>35432 >I still think it's stupid that the world would just tell a bunch of random criminals to find Skinner for them instead of, you know, sent actual feds after his ass. The show expects the viewers to not be so low IQ to think the main group are the only ones looking for skiner. It's a given that all glowie agencies from every country are also looking for him.
(355.89 KB 1920x1080 mpv-shot0624.jpg)

(478.72 KB 1920x1080 mpv-shot0623.jpg)

I liked episode 3 better than 1 and 2. Made me realise that the weakest parts of the series are the action scenes and attempts of comedy. The action always felt forced so far. As if they shove it in in fear of boring the audience otherwise, but since it feels unnecessary it's also detached and not engaging. I would unironically prefer them to tone it town to one longer action scene every two episodes that is then properly made and embedded instead and focus on the characters and dynamics otherwise. Though I was never into action that consists of running and jumping. I also think that the blond fag is the worst character. They try to make him funny and smart but he just comes of as annoying brat and has zero chemistry with the rest of the characters. Black dude has a similar problem. Way too stoic to be interesting. When will writers realise that such characters are boring, not cool? One thing I really like though are the backgrounds. Nice work here.
>>37798 Thats the point I'm trying to make. Everyone feels forced because the producers (Adult Swim) dont understand what makes Bebop good and just said "make everyone designed like Bebop characters and act all cool" without any of the substance.

>>37887 hahhaaaha at this point watching any kind of Western associated show even with a big Jap name and studios behind it is just begging for humiliation
>>35968 this movie is so good
>>37832 Tell me where you heard the producers say this. Whose mouth did it come out of. What interview. What staff member tweeted this. Show me a single Adult Swim affiliated person on the credit roll at least. Anything.
(3.33 MB 400x206 Agamemnon kek.gif)

>>37887 You can't be serious. It's one thing to have a gay nigger from outer space living in Japan but not even that is as bad as this.
>>37887 This is just so hamfisted it's not even funny. Wonder what's next for muh diversity in this anime.
>>37987 This is 100% on Western Production companies. Even Lycoris doesnt do this shit.
>>37887 is this character voiced by male or female VA?
>>38225 Male.
>>37939 I wonder if the western paycheck was worth it to Mappa and Watanabe. Or that Adult Swim breathed down their necks
Lazarus sucks
Some hate the nigger, some hate the blonde fag, I hate the haxx0rman neet cunt, she is just a device to make the plot progress when convenient and so far everything that she has said sounds extremely retarded.
>>40419 The nigger isn't bad honestly, and the blonde chick is nice eye candy. Problem is that none of the characters have any fucking appeal. It's just "Hey look at these Bebop like designs! Dont you love Bebop my fellow kids!?"
>>40419 Finally someone says it. I almost always hate hackers in anime because they're usually just that. Plot devices to progress the story whenever it's needed. Doesn't help that hacking in media is always depicted like magic. They click a bunch of keys and hack into every possible government server. Then they click a few other keys and get the exact shit they want like using a super fast search engine and if it's really bad it shows the giant progress bar and red blinking fonts saying "danger" or "top secret". Anyway these characters are always shit and I doubt she will ever do anything else but pulling crucial info out of her ass. I don't even dislike MC and don't think the series is that bad, but it has a bunch of annoying issues and she is one of them.
>>40580 Hacker characters dont bother me because they tend to be good comic relief characters and the girls are often cute. For me it's just that Lazarus is shit
>>37334 If he was in the background in the homeless commune it would be cool, but he was talking directly to him. Now it's obvious the show is going to end with them realizing he gave up his belongings to live with the homeless. So why even watch if we're just waiting for them to stumble around till they realize that? Also, we're expected to belive a scholar, who has been looking for one person for several days now, doesn't know what he looks like when face to face with him just because of some Clark Kent sunglasses.
>>37887 I fucking hate Americans so goddamn much
>>40419 I like haxxorgrill because she's cute. Other than that, the only person I'm remotely interested in is Brazilian Spike because he's the designated Cool Guy
>>40595 I guess I am too autistic for that, I hate it twice as much if it's a girl because I can't take it seriously. Anime have a lot of stupid shit but some of that is just too stupid to tolerate. That said I still have to force myself to watch this series because none of the characters are appealing. I wouldn't call most of them bad. They just fail to do or say anything that feels personal and genuine. I usually like adult women but the blonde one hasn't done anything either besides saying some witty one-liners. I have a bit of hope in MC but I will see. I hope the next episodes will focus less on hacking and new hints and develop the characters instead.
things like female soldiers or female computer geniuses is incredibly immersion breaking, gaslighters and shills calling complaining about this autism won't change reality. The hacker in Lazarus may or may not be a trooon though, which would make a lot of sense, but bad for different reasons
>>40816 But female soldiers already exist
>>40903 guess what, they suck. For an extensive lecture about sexual dimorphism in Homo Sapiens, please refer to your closest Large Language Model electronic oracle
>>40816 I am okay if there is one female soldier among a bunch of men actually. But it has to be an adult and she has to come off and look like a soldier. Problem is that you either get nothing or too much. And most series that add women want to shill them as waifus so they make them 14, skinny and walk around with girly clothes which is indeed immersion breaking if the men look and behave like actual soldiers. At least make them tomwomen or however you call adult tomboys. Also that aside women are the minority in such settings, so it should be a 1:10 ratio or less. One reason for why I couldn't take SAO seriously was how the series claimed that 90%+ or something of the players of the game were male, but then 95% of the characters the MC casually meets are of course girls.
>>40941 >most series that add women want to shill them as waifus so they make them 14, skinny and walk around with girly clothes which is indeed immersion breaking And they make good fucking money out of them, because nobody outside of american tradcucks and leftists care about "muh realism"
>>40980 I am neither american nor a rightoid. I just don't like girls they are stupid in such settings. I get that you rate it 10/10 because you fap to it, but why even latching onto action and military stuff then? Just stick to your billion isekai and moe shows where no waifu gets hurt.
>>41066 >I just don't like girls GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
>>31103 Please tell me these will become weekly occurrences. These memesubs actually make this dogshit watchable.

>>41066 Nigga anime would never be popular as it is if it werent for the women. Go find another hobby, as long as it isn't guns

>>42583 Based, thank you anon, really enjoyed watching this dogshit with the boys with those memesubs
>>34911 >black firefighter Are you blind?
>>42419 The most popular anime characters are men.
3 episodes in and I'm still not feeling it. It seems like most of the episodes will be trying to find Skinner and failing since he's just always one step ahead, but hey we've learned some fun fact about the characters that you probably won't care about.
>>42600 Looks like a pretty lightskinned black to me
>>37887 I see this as the Japanese equivalent of American portrayal of the Japanese: anytime a Japanese character shows up in an American property they're either a samurai, a yakuza, a pervert or a businessman. They copy what they see in movies. So the Japs see American media and when trying to make an "authentic" American series they put in what they've seen. "So they're into transgenderism, black people and social justice? Okay, that's gotta go in if we want to seem authentic".
>>42623 The Japanese view America as a success story of multiculturalsim.
>>41402 >her Does he know?

>>42763 Just trynna be respectful innit

>>33629 I think he wanted to show that a light dude can beat a dark dude in ball while a black dude can be super smart or something. Writing is so boring when it's just ticking boxes.
>>37954 >>37728 >>36905 Adult swim shill(s???) are actually in this thread with us. Point and laugh.

>>42419 Why the fuck does death karasu have chin stubble 🤢🤮
>>41847 It's good but extremely sweet. Like even sweeter than chocolate. Turks are selling it everywhere and might gift you one when you wait for a döner or lahmacun. >>42610 Roadtrips are cool but the characters are weak and the dialogues between them painfully stilted so it doesn't really work so far. Roadtrips are all about the journey and the characters as well the friendships they develop. MC has potential, but I can't see it for the rest. MAYBE the black dude if there more to him than the stoic persona he's presented as so far. >>42419 >Go find another hobby, as long as it isn't guns It's actually daggers, swords and katana.
>>41847 Strangely enough I had had it for dessert at a restaurant like 4 days before watching that episode; it's still too sweet for my taste, but other people will probably enjoy that.
>>42937 He didn't give much of a reaction beyond "huh". His opinion on trannies is that he's cool with them existing but he can't buy that they're women or men. They do not pass for him. He's liking the show so far, it's the kind of stupid action film he likes. I'm having fun too.
>>37887 Absolutely 👏 Positively 👏 Amazing.
>>37887 >90's >there is a tranny in the cast >she's 15 not 30 >she never says she's a tranny >most viewers never realize she is a tranny >only true chasers / trap connoisseurs can tell she's tranny 90's anime was different
>>43359 >I ended up hitting him sounds like something a 'black scholar' would do tbh
>>43862 Truth. A white scholar would have just begged the professor to fuck his girlfriend raw for a TA position.
>>43359 Just what in the fuck was in Watanabe's head when he wrote this? You know what, I refuse to believe this was his idea. The fucking western producers forced him to write this shit otherwise they would cut funding.
>>43892 Indian or Chinese?
>>44122 My theory is that he did write it, but he did it with no regards to social justice as much as he was trying to emulate current western writing.
>>44274 Oh, fuck. Worst timeline: anime goes woke, but not by trying to please wider foreign markets, or bc they got bought up by ZOG or something, but simply out of their reflexive copycat habit
>>44305 I doubt it. They know what it did to the video game companies and are actually pulling out the stops on non censored anime. We had Mahoako and plenty of heavy fanservice anime with little to no censorship last year and believe me, they fucking learned their lesson.
The shit he can do is fucking absurd, it's like he took the super soldier serum.
>>41847 It's really good, that shit is like Crack, the flavor is like 80% sugar + crunchy texture
>>43359 Damn this is just like a woke netflix show
this show is good idk what you faggots or MAL is talking about. it's not a masterpiece but neither was Bebop, it's Watanabe doing the same thing he always does. same with the woke shit, it's tame enough that I don't care and no worse than how he wrote Champloo.
>>56674 I don't think it's bad but it did this mistake that a lot of netflix series do IMO which is ignoring every sort of competent writing in the first episodes in favor of making everything feel cool and badass. I couldn't take MC's parkour action seriously with him jumping down a few floors to grab the window sill with two fingers and haul himself up and it got boring fast, because they didn't introduce any of the characters properly. The next episode were better, but they still write in some ridiculous "cool" content that doesn't really make much sense, like the basketball game at the homeless camp. And the sudden fight against random thugs felt forced to me. Or worst of all the two blondes having an easy time entering the house of the most wanted dude on the planet and being allowed to run around there freely. Despite this negativity though I enjoy the rest. The backgrounds are great, the animation is decent, MC isn't bad (IMO) and I like road trips. I just hope the other characters will get some proper development and hope that the MCs will be forced to work together more often.
>>37887 >>38261 >>43359 Trannies will still be mad at they way they got 'represented'. >>43862 Thank you, Watanabe, for inserting the trans truth pill (putting on a dress and injecting hormones doesn't make you a woman) into your work.
>>36905 >How many times do you see "Jason Demarco"? I count none. His name is literally the first one to appear in the opening credits what the fuck are you on about?
>>27583 C&T had a fresher plot. >>31256 I think it's just random, since the show seems to have been written 20 years ago.
This show is atrocious, it tries really hard to get the Bebop nostalgia but lacks everything that made Bebop good like the soundtrack, the background art, the animation (there are two shots where a revolver suddenly changes to a semi-auto, bravo MAPPA), and the writing is fucking reddit (WE ARE LIKE THE AVENGERS) probably because Watanabe stopped trying to do western-style serious writing in favor of just directly emulating it. The character designs are also all extremely bland.
>>43359 >muh trannies >muh racism Glad I dodged a bullet. Dropped this shit after episode 1 and now I'm validated.
Let's be honest tho. That cuck Watanabe always put lgbt crap in his anime >cowboy bebop That futa faggot on the all male planet >samurai champloo That fireflies samurai homosexual >space dandy Those cat lesbians at the bar
>>60934 >That futa faggot on the all male planet How is that lgbt anything? It was anti-tranny actually. The guy grew tits against his will, as a result of an experiment.
>>61029 Apart from futa being queer shit, there was also that scene on this planet where they walk in on 2 random dudes having sex.
>>56674 >>56674 Watanabe's previous shows weren't "woke". It might have not been right wing, but ot being right wing doesn't make something left wing. The gay characters were almost always played as a joke. Not to mention Champloo being a story whose central figure's story is entered around Christian persecution in Japan and portrays the persecutors as the wrong ones. The only politics I can really see in most of the things Watanabe made was "Live and let live", which is a far cry from "THE PRECIOUS NIGGERS AND TRANNIES ARE OPPRESSED BY THE EVIL WHITE MEN"
>>60934 It made sense in Bebop since life has become extremely decadent and hedonistic for humans outside of Mars and in Space Dandy it was for a comedic effect. This is completely unironic pozzing though.
>>60934 >That fireflies samurai homosexual You mean the joke character whose approach was met with instant disgust and caused jin to leave?
I am probably the exception here but what annoys me by far the most about the series are the stupid as fuck action scenes. They're well animated but holy hell I hate this sort of stupid exaggerated action where a random, allegedly normal human does the shit MC is doing with ease. If you want superpower story then declare the anime as such or make the characters super heroes. It annoys me how the series tries to come off as serious at some points but then pulls this shit in every single episode and it feels so tryhard.
>>61505 For me, the real issues other than shit writing and plot, is the excessive rotoscoping and tracing. The action scenes are menhera as fuck and would look much better without it.
>>61526 Yeah it sticks out. It's not like Aku no Hana which was entirely rotoscoped, it's switching between rotoscope action and stills or normally animated parts. In a way I have the same issue with this as with B or Fena. It feels like a frankenstein project where they try to attract three or four different demographics for different reasons and it doesn't match well. Bebop had cool action but it was never stupid superhuman stuff like the things MC here is doing. And most action is badly embedded IMO. It's mostly calm episode that get action-heavy for stupid reasons all of a sudden, as if they feared that the ADHD audience would drop it if they made one episode without fights or stupid parkour action.
>>61924 >they The subs are wrong. >やっぱ魅力の差っていうか No "they" Axel is giving his opinion. He would hit the trap. Fucking based giga aniki. Redeemed. KINO. I'll be watching every week with great interest.
>Hiya, I'm a rich guy! I love money and hate women! Time for my nightly rape party! This shit sucks so fucking much. I know it's hack to call things AI generated but all of this is so paint-by-numbers that it's almost more offensive to think a human had something to do with this. What's pissing me off the most is that there was clearly a lot of money put into this and it's still worse than some isekai kuso. Putting aside any writing issues, the animation and art direction are very good but the direction wastes it completely. Pic2, these are decent costume designs but they lack any life for the entire episode; not sure how to describe it better than that. I guess lifeless is how I'd describe this entire show so far.
This show will age like milk with all that okama crap shoved in kek.
The shota should stop taking Hapna and start taking HRT
(1.30 MB 400x300 cell-puke.gif)

Oh wow, another pointless episode where fuck-all happens.
I actually kind of liked the last two episodes (unlike the first ones) but think that the female characters still suck. Blonde is supposed to be sexy and cool but only comes across as bitchy and egoistical and hacker girl is a plot device devoid of personality (so far). I also like road trips but hope that they won't spend the entire series with red herrings of the week and actually get closer to Skinner and the truth next episode. >I guess lifeless is how I'd describe this entire show so far. I used that word to describe it after episode two. I am not sure what it is but I encounter the same phenomenon with most netflix cartoons. Actually, it reminds me of bad hollywood movies too. You get cool action and everything and on paper the character descriptions aren't bad, but the movie is then too focused on action and coolness to give any of them a soul.
>>61920 This was fun, but it doesn't save the anime any more than the good animation does. >>61929 The show is entertaining, but you are right that it is feels lifeless, and my hopes of it having a good conclusion are low. Last year I watched Metallic Rouge until the end, so I will see this through the end too probably.
calling it now, hacker girl will be a traitor at some point
The sheer audacity of the character designs, the way the characters move with such sleek precision, the fashion! It's like a visual feast cooked up by the coolest mind on the planet! Honestly watching it just fills you with this smug sense of knowing, like you're in on some ultra-chic secret handshake. You just want to lean back adjust your imaginary avant-garde glasses and whisper to the uninitiated, "FAM, if you don't get it, well, that's on you." It's just that next-level stylish, you know? Only the truly discerning can appreciate its breathtaking artistry!
>>61920 >>61923 I usually don't like traps but this dress and design is great, it reminds me of the girl MCs from the anime of the 70s.
>>62364 I agree, I don't mind a weak story or characters if they encapsulate well the vibe of the show but so far they feel kind of dissonant >>61505 I think the action does an alright job but doesn't carry much meaning which goes to my previous point. The exaggeration of it could be a quirky thing but instead feels out of place, the show fails to handle certain moments This show is good on paper but there's just something that's lacking that I can't exactly pinpoint, it feels cynical
>>62870 It's too mission-focused IMO. A common issue that I usually have with western live action. Despite that the story doesn't really progress (which is, by itself, not always a bad thing) almost every single scene is plot-dictated or rather mission-dictated. They include orders, explanations of the modus operandi, hacker speech, villain monologues etc. And the rest of the scenes are just played for the rule-of-cool. You don't see the characters doing or revealing anything personal or building up a chemistry between each other, explore the world or anything. Worst of all, nobody, and I mean NOBODY, feels conflicted about a worldwide genocidal threat that will probably kill all of them within a few weeks. I enjoy the series, mind you. But the two issues I have with it are the lack of meaningful character interactions and the complete absence of the severity of the situation. The kill switch is the premise of the show, but you could take it away and the episodes would be exactly the same. I would even prefer this. Never up the scales if not necessary. Skinner should have just been a drug lord or something that MCs are hunting to get an amnesty
>>62947 >Worst of all, nobody, and I mean NOBODY, feels conflicted about a worldwide genocidal threat that will probably kill all of them within a few weeks. This. Why there isn't any worldwide chaos? Wouldn't some people go on rampage if they think they will die in less than a month. Or is everyone sure that other people will solve everything just in time like the funky trader of the last episode? And since I am questioning the premises. Does everyone blindly believe Skinner? Is there any proof that they will die in month? He could just be trolling the world...
>>62870 >but there's just something that's lacking that I can't exactly pinpoint Soul. It lacks soul.
>>62019 >not swallowing
>>63154 about that, the story is set in a distant c1b3rp0nk future, society is extremely nihilist (that's why they all got hooked on the drug) but yeah not even a bit of social mobilization throws out of the immersion and adds to the inauthentic feeling. The show is too essentialist in everything >>62947 the show is set to be 13 episodes long and it's already nearing half-way in, afraid this can be a zankyou no terror situation with the rushedness
>>63154 It doesn't even has to be a rampage, but something. Even DDDDDD handled this way better. There were some groups displaying cult behavior, there were deniers, believers, people out for war, people that just accept death and so on. Here it's nothing. This is even weirder considering that the series was made post-covid, so they should have gotten some ideas about how different groups would react to such a situation. But it's widely ignored and doesn't influence the story at all so far. >>63154
Did the fujos fund episode 4? (≧∇≦)ノ
KEK! I just realized they got Sugita for this guy 😂😂😂😂😂 it fits.
Most important question of the thread: Would you?
>>61505 I had a lot of fun with those. I guess I can understand the complaint though. My main issue with the show is how "nothing" the plot is. At least episode 4 was fun.
>>61929 Yeah it sucks but that guy is just meant to be a caricature; there's nothing wrong with caricatures. Also it was fun seeing Tomokazu Sugita getting to act as a meme character again
>>62102 It's monster-of-the-week, nothing wrong with that. It's a pretty average but pretty fun show.
>>62870 >I don't mind a weak story or characters if they encapsulate well the vibe of the show but so far they feel kind of dissonant This is out of nowhere but I'm curious how you feel about the new Gundam anime, that's exactly how I'd describe it.
>no Lazarus rule 34 Show is a flop
>>63624 Yeah. I mean, he was kind of asking for it the whole episode, don't you think?
>>63624 Unironically better than the two actual girls so far
Style explosion everywhere! Seriously, these characters? Their moves are smoother than butter on a hot skillet, and their smiles? Total Instagram perfection – you just KNOW they're racking up the likes! And get this – they're all about that smooth talk, charming everyone they meet! But wait, there's MORE! They're actually out there, like, fighting evil and making the world a better place! It's all about that squad vibe, you know? Being with your stylish crew, looking amazing, spreading good vibes, and actually DOING good! It's like, all those times hipsters are saying "touch grass" to find something real and good? THIS ANIME SHOWS IT! It's that feeling of genuine connection, of doing something meaningful with people you vibe with, all while looking totally fly! It's the ultimate "touch grass" inspo, right?! You just wanna jump off the couch and go live your most stylish, do-gooder life with your awesome friends!
>>18421 close enough, welcome back Fujiko Mine
Pretty fun episode. This is the cartoon network font isn't it? lol
>>65291 i wish they layed out the hacker stuff more creatively, tired of shows doing le ebin h4x0r stuff instead of actually understanding it
>>65351 Unfortunately reminds me of Kamisama ni natta hi's hacker. But at least that one looked cooler(?)
watanabe is a disgusting westaboo
>>37728 https://fandomwire.com/adult-swim-ditched-shinichiro-watanabes-wish-for-a-space-dandy-sequel-for-lazarus/ According to this article (though I'm not sure it's source), it sounds like Watanabe really wanted another light hearted romp like Dandy but got told it had to be something serious more akin to Bebop. Which probably explains why this show feels so lacking in having a unique identity - though I don't HATE it so far but it's just kind of eh.
>>66611 good catch, fucking snakes wanting to play it "safe" appealing to nostalgiafags, even though i bet watanabe was cool with that they wasted what he excels at which is raw authenticity. like if you told me this anime is directed by some rando i'd believe it they probably tried to bring it closer to a normalfag american audience but most recent critically acclaimed anime have been quirky non-conventional stories like Chainsaw Man, Dandadan, whatever (like Space Dandy), that's the current appeal. They are stuck in a lame middle-ground like you may as well hire a random american team if you want to do this. Watanabe is highly regarded in american creative circles so the simping for him probably plays a part too like john wick's director collaborating for almost nothing, i bet shinichiro is living his best life being paid in dollars and has part of the blame in being conformist
watanabe's genius without even trying (or so i'd like to think) is what's keeping it a fine story despite this, if not this would be like Tower of God or God Of Highschool because american companies ruin everything they touch

cat balls I missed this little guy
It kinda just feels like he lost all motivation to write, this episode just felt empty. What should have been an emotional scene where the hacker girl's friend claimed her independence by throwing the smoke bomb into the fire just sort of happens.
>>66921 Made a screenshot of the exact same scene. Hope he appears until the end. Reminds me a bit of my own fat cat.
Ooh, episode 6 is a religious cult episode?
It almost feels like I'm watching Anne Shirley lol
I'm starting to really like these title cards.
SEX.
Holy shit that got dark quickly. So this is a suicide cult?! Sasuga Skinner CharacterAI
Holy shit ahahahahaha
>>66931 Really? I liked this episode quite a bit. Although you're right, that would have been a great scene. >2nd screenshot lol, these secret agents are not very good at being secretive Are you guys enjoying Lazarus so far? Besides the obviously "shill-this-american-thing" scenes, I'm liking it more than I expected to. CRAPPA is actually doing a decent job too. Does anyone think the MC is actually evil? His talk with the AI was pretty sus
>>67154 Didn't like the first episodes but after they finally got over the long-running action scenes and focused more on the characters I got into it. Christine is still one-dimensional IMO but the last two episodes did well making Eleina more sympathetic. I kind of hope that the Pakistani hacker will appear again the rival she is. Gives Eleina more varied dynamics with others. My main issue with the series was that it felt like everything was happening in a closed bubble. The alleged end of humanity is approaching but nobody seems to care. But I think that there is more to it. For once I am sure that they chose convicts for the Special Operation because they plan to kill them once they get Skinner and hide their traces. I believe there is a secret global race going on because every intelligence agency wants Skinner first since the vaccine would essentially give them immeasurable power. You could let entire countries and all opposing organizations disappear by not giving them the vaxx (or a fake one). It's global warfare. Assuming that the kill switch actually exists, that is. For the indifference: I believe that Hapna is simply making everybody that takes it apathetic. If you're incapable of feeling pain or true fear you wouldn't be able to act and care.
>>67154 it's fine i just like to hate stuff
>>67206 Oh lol I had to google who Christine was. Yeah, I agree, but she's nice eye-candy which I guess is fine for now. Like Faye maybe her episode will come later. I think no one caring is just people being in denial and the author just said "ok that's all I feel like doing" lol. >>67262 🤗
>>67329 >Oh lol I had to google who Christine was Me too and I am the one that made that post. I am always bad with names though so that's normal. She doesn't have much of a presence right now either which makes it worse. I assume that an episode focused on her will come next, followed by black dude who could be interesting since I usually like it when seemingly stoic characters eventually lose their cool. I think there is more to that guy and his dynamic with Hersch and the others.
>>30471 That is so retarded it hurts

>>12289 So he wasted time for some extra money instead of pursuing his passion, maybe it's better than doing nothing, but everyone who decides to watch will have their eyes and ears violated, if anything he's a fallen writer who surrendered his humanity to Jews, nothing good will come from him again

Sub timing is still stock AMZN. Who must go? Since I know herkz reads these descriptions now, I'd like to suggest that you v1 with U-NEXT audio solely due to the fact that the gain isn't fucked up. There's no reason to be using VIDIO audio other than the marginally higher bitrate since you release after U-NEXT is out. Memesubs beyond Episode 2 never (soon).

>>67827 RIP memesubs Also funny how they realize they are AGAIN back to square 1.
>>67425 >Me too and I am the one that made that post LOL! Looks like she's finally getting an episode next time though. >>67827 Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed this episode.
Have the Lazarus crew killed other people willy-nilly before? With a Japanese writer I didn't think the american storytelling rule of "any number of russians killed is fine, viewers won't feel bad" still applied. Also, average lesbian relationship lol 🔫 some nice eye candy though
What a fun episode. I can't wait for the battle next week.
