Strike Witches is a generic military slice-of-life drama about a girl who enlists in the army and forms a friendship with her squad. BUT girls in this universe don't wear pants. There is no explanation for it. No one acknowledges it. The camerawork doesn't highlight or avoid it. The effect is as if you're watching Valkyria Chronicles but with a set of X-ray goggles that only affect juniors female legwear. 2007 otaku culture found this hilarious and so Strike Witches still remains in the cultural memory.
