Emulation (Kirby Super Star) Ultra Thread Anonymous 01/13/2025 (Mon) 02:28:21 Id: b82368 No. 2
This thread was painstakingly typed by hand, no copypasting whatsoever. Any similarites to any other threads are purely coincidental, and not justification for copythread bans. Post viyda ur emulatin' and talk 'bout 'em. Need help emulatin'? You won't find it here. FAGs >My computer catches fire trying to play minesweeper. How can I emulate games? You can't. >Why won't my gayme work? Because you touch yourself at night. >Why are my save states broken after swapping/updating emulators? Save states are for pussies. Use real saves, queer. Recently I've emulated Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 1-3 (3 was broken as a kid), Ape Escape 1-3 (Never beat 3 as a kid, never had the other two), SMT:Digital Devil Saga 1 &2, Demon's Souls, Catherine Full Body (fuck giving this new fag story money, but the new gameplay is worth my time), and Final Fantasy X International (Never played International, and I have to say the endgame sucks balls.) Right now I'm emulating the Super Mario Eclipse hack, after some minor memory card troubleshooting which is now a verboten topic on /v/ and /vb/. I had written much more about all these games, but most of the more recent posts are gone now and I'm not rewriting them, so this short summary will do. I'm going to take a break from emulating to play two other games after Eclipse, but after that I plan on playing Kirby Super Star Ultra. I beat the original game many times over, and still have fond memories of when my sibling managed to get a time of exactly 0 on the quick draw by some miracle. I took a picture of the TV with my DSiXL. I wonder if I can find it? But I digress. It wasn't until the past year or so that I discovered Ultra existed, but my toaster didn't handle DS games very well last I had tried, but but again, I now have a better computer.
I've gotten everything from the original game except for the return trip shine and blue coin in Delfino Air Strip. Apparently, you have to do some portion of the new areas to unlock the final level now, and you can't go back to the airport until you do.
>>4 Oh, and the blue coins in the final level.
Completed the Lighthouse level today. It was pretty small, but solid. Unlocked Il Piantissimo as a playable character. It's interesting having a different moveset, but he can't use the FLUDD, only throw water balloons, which can make many levels a pain.
Finished Erto Rock. These new levels all feel fairly average. Not bad, not amazing. Some of the shines are way too easy though, and show up for things you'd think would get you a blue coin.
Beat Delfino Island and the new Bowser fight. Apparently, there's a post game where you collect power stars at "N64 Peach's Castle", but the first painting so far is just a rehash of Delfino Plaza. Once you beat Bowser the first time, you unlock Luigi, which seems to be a pure upgrade over Mario. All his jumps are higher and he's not slippery like Luigi often is. I think he even increases Yoshi's jump height. It feels like cheating when you play him. I will note some incompleteness is clear as well when you play Luigi. Half of the grunts are still Mario's, lots of dialogue will still call you Mario, and you still turn into Mario color bubbles when entering any of the first three areas. The new levels around Delfino were alright, but I think the smaller levels on the cruise ship you unlock after the first Bowser fight are much better. Far fewer of those shines feel like blue coin tier challenges at least.
Finished everything in Eclipse. The post game is just beta levels and few levels from other videogames all sprinkled through Peach's castle. There's nothing tracking how many power stars you have, and every time you finish a level, you're punted back to the castle foyer, which is a pain in the ass when going through the basement and upper floors. The very last level at the very top also seems to lag for me. Overall Eclipse was alright. I've been considering playing Luigi's mansion hacks, but apparently the community surround any of the more in depth hacks had some faggotry going and they were all scrubbed from the net. The only serious one I could find was Luigi's Mansion Sweet Home, which won second place in a contest. No info about first place or any other entries in said contest.

>>2 I'm glad there's finally something better than DeSmuME now. It seems the guy behind it redesigned the website but it's still stuck at 0.9.13 from all those years back. NO$GBA wasn't an option despite running faster than DeSmuME because it had a bunch of weird quirks iirc and a non-resizable window. I can probably get around to playing sonic rush and bowser's inside story at full speed now. Wait, apparently there's a 3DS version of bowser's inside story too. Not sure if I like it though. The art direction kind of reminds me of lucasarts point and click adventure games.
>>1574 >It seems the guy behind it redesigned the website but it's still stuck at 0.9.13 from all those years back. What, MelonDS? He just released 1.1 not long ago. Also yeah, the art direction for the M&L ports for 3ds is pretty shit. Started a new playthrough of zeldor Age Of shartlamity on Eden and my computer is too shit to use the 60 fps mod. How am I supposed to live with myself now, fellow retards?
>>1585 >What, MelonDS? No, DeSmuME
>>1587 Oh. I was under the impression that some people took that project and kept it going. And after checking, I guess they just never released a new stable version. But the github show that they're still working on it. Website does return me a ERROR 500 so I can't even check if they host nightly builds on there. Maybe it's all being done for the retroarch fags and that's the only updated version?
>>1585 >How am I supposed to live with myself now, fellow retards? pley old gam
>>1574 >I'm glad there's finally something better than DeSmuME >>1585 >What, MelonDS? >>1587 >No, DeSmuME The thing that's finally better than DeSmuME is, DeSmuME?
>>1592 No, MelonDS
>>1595 But what about other emulator?

Has anyone here played the GBA dragon ball z RPGs? They also made some sidescrolling beatemups.
(350.23 KB 1920x1920 brothership.png)

>>1574 Also, has anyone played Brothership? Is it worth trying?
>>1609 >>1610 The first game for those GBA rpgs is very barebone and below average tedious shit. And the second is only average at best. You might get a kick out of the second one if you are a dragonshart fan but only touch the first if you have a good tolerance to tedium. Brothershit has a lot of content and is fun to play but the pacing is utter dogshit and mega slow. + low difficulty doesn't help the shit pace Not recommended on emulator if you don't have a beast machine. It stutters a lot and has to load a lot of shit in cutscenes because there's a lot of movement.
>>1611 I've played the dragonball ones before when I was like, 8 or something. I remember having fun with them back then but I also didn't have standards. >brothership You know, the NDS era felt like the end of many nintendo franchises and spinoffs, Pokemon especially. Zelda and Mario Odyssey were one of the only ones that continued with some sense of direction in the Switch era.
>>1611 >Dragonshart You got me excited with the hope that there was actually a good Dragonheart video game that I somehow didn't know about. You couldn't even be bothered to come up with some insult that actually rhymed or had some sort of alliteration with Dragon Ball. Your shitposting needs a lot of work.
>>1631 Please don't pin your retardation on other people. You didn't read the tagged posts and made assumptions. <Your shitposting needs a lot of work. shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit.
>>1633 Dragonheart is awesome, and it deserves a better game than this piece of shit. And no, the Game Boy game isn't any better (though the cover art maybe is).
(30.84 MB 1440x1080 let me sow you human culture.gif)

>>1634 >Dragonheart is awesome I see that you're a man of culture.
>>1634 >One of his favourite movie/series/book only got adapted as a video game on the gameboy and the playstation for a quick cashgrab. Many, many such cases. I empathize and I'm sorry for you.
>>1574 bowser's inside story has both inflation and vore
