This is NOT a thread for gacha-shit! If you want to discuss that type of content, make your own thread or take it to >>>/gacha/ The purpose of this thread is to talk about games playable on phones. There's really no restrictions on what can be discussed (Aside from already mentioned). The primary reason I made this thread was just see what "good" games actually exist on since no one really talks about it. Thus far, the games I can provide as reqs goes as far as: Providing links to Qoo-App because I used them to bypass the region-locking of the Goolag Play Store. They still provide links to the Play Store and the iOS App Store if you want to see the "proper" page. Also you should still be able to find "some" games through other third-party sites. >⑨Bullet Screen https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/14051 It's literally a 2hu fan game. >Card Thief https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/14387 It's a stealth-based card game where you attempt to sneak past guards and collect loot >Chimera Recollect https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/13280 Apparently it's a sort of "click to death" game where you play as a customizable monster that protects a child >City Connection Classic https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/17052 It's the classic arcade game City Connection with some new graphics elements. Mind the ads. You can avoid them by switching to "Airplane Mode". >Dark Witch Connect! https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/12073 It's a tile game where you connect as many of the same adjacent tiles as you can within a minute. >Mahjong Girls Only seen this game on the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.sundenshi.shmusume_g The Shanghai puzzle game where you match mahjong tiles, except doing so reveals pictures of cute girls. Also there's a tile set usiing classic Sunsoft characters. >Ninja JaJaMaru Neo Classic https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/16833 It's the classic arcade game Ninja JaJaMaru with some new graphical elements and music (It's actually kick-ass). Mind the ads. You can avoid them by switching to "Airplane Mode". >The King of Fighters-A 2012 https://apps.qoo-app.com/en/app/943 It's basically a stripped down port of KoF13. I'm also trying to avoid mentioning games that have since been ported to consoles.

>Google will block sideloading of unverified Android apps starting next year https://archive.ph/jNAhK <Google has announced plans to begin verifying the identities of all Android app developers, and not just those publishing on the Play Store. Google intends to verify developer identities no matter where they offer their content, and apps without verification won't work on most Android devices in the coming years. >Google will require developer verification to install Android apps, including sideloading https://archive.ph/DmtNM <To combat malware and financial scams, Google announced today that only apps from developers that have undergone verification can be installed on certified Android devices starting in 2026. <This requirement applies to “certified Android devices” that have Play Protect and are preloaded with Google apps. The Play Store implemented similar requirements in 2023, but Google is now mandating this for all install methods, including third-party app stores and sideloading where you download an APK file from a third-party source. >A new layer of security for certified Android devices https://archive.ph/92ef5 <Starting next year, Android will require all apps to be registered by verified developers in order to be installed by users on certified Android devices. Okay, I'm retarded, how is this going to effect people like me? My circumstance is that the phone that I use for playing vidya is an old LG still running Android 6.0. I don't use the Play Store (Even disabled it on my phone), but I do use services like APK Updater and Qoo-App to install games and updates. So will this effect my ability to play Android vidya in the future? There's still some "newer" games coming out that I can still run on my phone, somehow. So that's primarily where I'm concerned.

Anyone remember this? There was also a king kong J2ME game iirc
>>794 >My circumstance is that the phone that I use for playing vidya is an old LG still running Android 6.0. As long as you don't update you should be fine, but APK Updater and Qoo-App might stop working if Google completely locks everything down. I think this also kicks down others that maintain alternate app stores like samsung, amazon and epic (I think), so there's definitely incentive from other companies to prevent that from happening. I think phone companies might just start shipping modified versions of android with their own app stores, in fact. Piracy is a very big factor in second and third world countries so I hope this wouldn't fly there as well. If this remains a "hey, this isn't certified by us, the jewish oligarchs google so you reaaaly reaaaly shouldnt install this app ok??? pls click ok to proceed" then I suppose it will be fine, but if it's the other thing then there won't be any other way around it except for installing a custom rom. Fuck Google.
>>796 >I think this also kicks down others that maintain alternate app stores like samsung, amazon and epic (I think) The Amazon app store for Android was shut down several months ago. >I think phone companies might just start shipping modified versions of android with their own app stores In some ways, that's actually an improvement, because it at least creates "some" competition for smartphone OSes. So thanks, Goolag. >Piracy is a very big factor in second and third world countries so I hope this wouldn't fly there as well. I don't see why those terrtiroties matter when they effectively have their own state-provided smartphone OSes and app stores. It's only in developed countries that "everyone" uses Google Play by default. >but if it's the other thing then there won't be any other way around it except for installing a custom rom That's sort of what I was thinking it would be, that Android is attempting to become as "locked down" as iOS. However I was curious how this would effect those of us on older versions. Like would this verification be implemented on both ends, that while you can no longer install apps unless they've been Goolag "verified", that it would also prevent you from installing apps unless you have a phone WITH the verification software needed to verify that an app is verified. Because I'm not willing to dismiss how stupid they'll make this shit.
>>797 >I don't see why those terrtiroties matter when they effectively have their own state-provided smartphone OSes and app stores. From what I know a majority of them (maybe excluding china) just run some version of Android with the standard google integrations, and pirating APKs for paid/pro version apps is just an everyday thing for those who know their way around their phone a bit (and everyone else is retarded). >a phone WITH the verification software needed to verify that an app is verified. That would probably require them to encrypt the APKs end-to-end, so they might also try to make reverse engineering impossible by doing that.

Two things First is asking about a game that I forget the name of. All I know is that is was an "early" smartphone RPG, had a medieval fantasy setting, was built in Unreal 3, and was released as abandonware on Archive.org. Does that ring a bell for anyone? Second thing is that SE's Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is shutting down in October: https://archive.ph/LGFbR Don't get to teary eyed over it, as here's an Anon's write-up on playing the game: https://archive.ph/edSY7
