>Grand Theft Auto Is Getting Its Own College Course https://archive.ph/rVyxT <The news comes from IGN, which noted that this course is coming to the University of Tennessee. In particular, this is being taught by a history professor named Tore Olsson, who has done something similar in the past with Red Dead Redemption. With Red Dead Redemption, the professor was able to showcase the history of the Wild West. <However, with Grand Theft Auto, the professor is looking to highlight some of the history of America from the 1980s through today. It’s a series that spans several decades, although Tore noted that, as a satirical parody of America, the games often get the history wrong more than right. That said, there are still areas where the professor can showcase that the games get it right. <But I find the games much more interesting – and useful in the class – when their parody rings true. For example, Los Santos, Liberty City, and Vice City are each home to bustling container ports – what 5 calls “the orifice of American capitalism” – that often sit near rusting manufacturing districts. This is spot-on: arguably no technology was more transformative of post-1980 America than the shipping container, which facilitated the global outsourcing of U.S. industry. Or there’s GTA’s radio stations, where much of the games’ sharpest social commentary takes place. In 4 (set in 2008) and 5 (2013), we encounter a highly polarized media landscape where rival political commentators spit acid at each other from separate stations. Here comes the LOL https://archive.ph/mpwp4 >Tore C. Olsson’s books <Red Dead's History: A Video Game, an Obsession, and America's Violent Past <Agrarian Crossings: Reformers and the Remaking of the US and Mexican Countryside >Tore is Currently Reading <The Hispanic Republican: The Shaping of an American Political Identity, from Nixon to Trump >Tore C. wants to read <When the Clock Broke: Con Men, Conspiracists, and How America Cracked Up in the Early 1990s <Hope Never to See It: A Graphic History of Guerrilla Violence during the American Civil War <Savings and Trust: The Rise and Betrayal of the Freedman's Bank <A Traitor to His Species: Henry Bergh and the Birth of the Animal Rights Movement >Tore C. is now following Gleenobly's reviews https://archive.ph/PaPRv >Gleenobly’s favorite books <Ready Player One <Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood

Is the Mass Effect series worth playing through at all?
>>919 Never touched it, so i can only guess. I GUESS the first game is worth it but it gets more trite story-wise as the series goes, culminating in 'space rocks fall, everybody dies' in three different colors at the end of the third game.
Have any anons here been playing or have finished Expedition 33? I finished the game over a month ago now, but I've been thinking about it a bit more recently as I revisit several of the music tracks from the game. I wasn't sure I had enough to start a whole thread about the game, and the Expedition 33 thread on /v/ is awful, so I thought I might as well just share my recent thought here. It's in regard to the ending, so I will spoiler it, just in case. Right as I finished the game, I was satisfied with how the endings were handled. The two options were not presented as equally good outcomes, which fits much better with the established lore, the message of the game, and for overall satisfaction. As I was thinking about the Maelle ending, I realized there was another bit of detail about Verso's situation. Throughout the story, mostly during campsite conversations, Verso talks about how his main love when it comes to art is playing music, not necesarily painting. He talks about how he used to deeply enjoy going to the concert hall and playing the piano. If the player chooses to side with Maelle, Verso shows just how horrible he feels about the canvas continuing to exist, begging to be killed. Yet Maelle selfishly ignores these pleas, and the player sees that Verso eventually stars in a performance in a now crowded performance hall inside the canvas. Of course, as the cutscene goes on, things start to feel more and more off, and clearly Verso has trouble beginning his performance. I recently realized how perfectly cruel this detail was, because something that once brought the real Verso great joy is now part of his torture. He used to play effortlessly in the hall, and now he struggles to do it. Having this scene show the results of Maelle's decisions makes sense both writing wise and really allows for some deeper details to be presented to the player, beyond the surface level tension and discomfort.

TPC unironically and literally released an official Pokemon cartoon about a Gardevoir stalking her trainer while he's at work, and spending her nights giving him happy dreams of a future that could have been This isn't a joke nor an exaggeration: https://archive.ph/it13K https://redirect.invidious.io/watch?index=0&list=PLBE2D9BnJJUoFiRz8ZjF2KToAirHYn1Ru&v=1JtuxmEiYl4 They just know that this shit sells because of the porn at this point, don't they?
>>981 lmao
>>981 No doubt they are aware of what the internet has done. But Gardevoir is a very popular pokemon overall. In the 2020 global poll done in collaboration with Google, Gardevoir was #9 overall and #2 in Hoenn. There was a Japan-only vote done through Xitter in 2021 and Gardevoir placed #30 overall and #6 in Hoenn. At the time there were almost 900 pokemon, which makes #30 an impressive feat. So it is genuinely enjoyed beyond porn. Not just that, but it is an intensely loyal pokemon, willing to create mini black holes to protect its trainer, or even risk its own life for him. For a short animation about a loyal pokemon, Gardevoir fits the role perfectly, especially if they wanted a pokemon that could easily follow her trainer unnoticed.
>>986 >So it is genuinely enjoyed beyond porn. <Citing polls taken far into the age of widespread rule34 that were almost assuredly influenced by porn
>>988 I wasn't saying porn had no influence on anyone's choices for the polls. I said that Gardevoir is appreciated beyond porn. If porn addicts were the main ones voting on these polls, or if Jewgle just looked at popular pokemon searches, their sheer numbers would all but ensure that pokemon like Lopunny, Gardevoir, Vaproeon, etc. were all in the top 5. And yet none of them are there. The ones who took the time to find and go to the proper webpage and choose a pokemon for each category were actual fans who cared beyond what pokemon pleased their perverted minds the most. For the Japanese poll in 2021, users had to make use of hashtags to vote, which requires effort that people just using xitter to jerk off aren't going to want to put in. And in the overall top 5 we have pokemon like Sableye and Magnemite. Sligoo, Lucario, and Gardevoir are on the list, pokemon that are pretty popular in the R34 scene. And what numbers were they? 28, 29, and 30 respectively. If they only consulted porn addicts those three would be right at the top along with the other usual suspects.

Indian redeems his nation, his people, and their culture by outjewing (((BlackRock))) https://archive.fo/l4Uja >Carriox’s bankruptcy follows a lawsuit filed in August 2025 in New York Supreme Court by Alter Domus against Bankim Brahmbhatt, the chief executive officer of Bankai Group and owner of Carriox, Bridgevoice, and Broadband Telecom. >The complaint alleges that Brahmbhatt and his companies fabricated telecom receivables used as collateral for more than $500 million in loans, citing forged contracts, counterfeit emails, and false invoices purportedly issued to global carriers such as T-Mobile, Telstra, BICS, Telecom Italia Sparkle, and Taiwan Mobile. >When [BlackRock] attempted to verify those receivables, the scheme allegedly unraveled, revealing that many of the invoices were fictitious and that funds were diverted offshore. Separate Delaware Chancery Court filings froze the group’s assets and prohibited transfers above $5,000 without lender consent. >These actions triggered a chain reaction: within days, Brahmbhatt and his affiliated companies each filed for Chapter 11 protection in New York.

VIDEOGAMES
(183.56 KB 827x839 cream vidya question.png)

>>1110 Look really hard. There's definitely VIDEOGAMES there.
Could you guys help me out with a script for a video I’m writing? It’s an argument about the decline in the value of video games, and I was wondering if you would be interested in offering your opinions on it. I want to see how sound and coherent the my arguments are, as well as a general overview of what does and doesn’t work.
>>1115 Eh, why not. Shoot.
>>1117 <Alright. In that case, here's the script. In case you're wondering about the underlined parts, those are hyperlinks. The prmiary thing I'm looking for is if what I'm presenting has merit.
(161.36 KB 1000x667 cat.jpg)

>>1123 Your script reminds me of a certain style of small-time video game reviewers from the early days, usually having a slideshow of images and video with little in the way of fluff, and the pacing and speech is fast and dry. I don't have examples of that at hand, unfortunately. If that's what your aiming for, attempt to make sentences shorter, more curt and increase the amount of wit, but don't overdo it. >(...) barrier and charge $100. I’m not even mentioning season passes, DLC, and micro-transactions tied to lootboxes. The simple fact is that video games are becoming a very expensive hobby. This has confused a lot of people and brings us to the simple question of Why is this happening?” These sentences do not add any flavor or make better use of prose. They make it sound boring and without personality. What you could possibly do instead is: <I’m not even mentioning season passess, DLC, and micro-transactions tied to lootboxes >, and I haven't even gotten started with season passes, DLCs, microtransactions and the mandatory blood sacrifice rituals to YHWH they're mandating from February 2034 <The simple fact is that video games are becoming a very expensive hobby. This has confused a lot of people and brings us to the simple question of Why is this happening?” >Simply put, videogames are luxury items now. It's a bizzare state of affairs. I'm sure most of you are baffled too, like how <insert very quick witty joke here referencing the general decay of standard of living in the first world>. This isn't perfect, and you could probably improve the wording a lot more. I think its a function of how well read you are, whether you grew up around an English speaking community, and how many interesting people and life experiences you've have. If you are aiming for something like what Ross (Accursed Farms) does in his narration, then this script could work with less changes, but it definitely could use some more trimming and less formality, like: <Another factor people are pointing to is because of inflation. >Another factor people point to is inflation. or >Something else that people bring up in this conversation is inflation. This is all just my opinion, though. You decide where to take it.
>>1124 > and the pacing and speech is fast and dry. *with fast pacing and dry speech.
One more thing to consider. You can probably partially subsitute for being well read by carefully listening to recordings of people that you consider to be good orators and have styles you consider to be good. That's what I did For me personally, all the people that I consider to be good video orators, I picked up before 2018 or so. After that, the quality of English narration by most new content creators seems to drop off fast, and just become bland and indistinguishable. Sure, every now and then you'd have an arts major trying to flex, but that just immediately comes off as obnoxious.
>>1124 >>1126 >>1127 Thank you for the suggestions, and will see where I can apply them.
There's a lot of passive language here and it annoys me to no end since it's something I do too. > The simple fact is that video games are becoming a very expensive hobby. This has confused a lot of people and brings us to the simple question of Why is this happening?” <Video games are becoming a very expensive hobby. This is confusing. Why is this happening?” >The general “Go-to” excuse a lot of these companies have made is(...) <The “Go-to” excuse these companies have made is(...) >There is, of course, the simple fact that $80 in 1990 is worth much more than $80 today in 2025, which does open up the argument that we’re paying “much less” for games today than back then. <Pick between "Of course" and "Simple fact" <Replace "which does open up the argument" These are your points, so try to own them rather than softening them.
Is it a good thing or a bad thing that Digimon limited their naming structure to having every single god-damned thing end with -mon? I get it makes it simpler for kids, but Digimon was always a more T-rated Pokemon in the first place, and kids aren't that stupid.

Not sure how many anons here have actually played Pokemon Legends: ZA, but I finished the main story about a week ago, and I really have no motivation to finish what's left of the game. This isn't to say I don't find joy in completing vidya anymore, and I didn't expect this lame excuse of a "post game" to actually be that entertaining, but it really is a slog that leads to nothing. Some people may say that it's better than having nothing at all, I suppose. (I won't really be spoilering anything, because this is all stuff you can see coming from the start of the game pretty much.) Once the main story is over, you can continue fulfilling Mable's research requests. But the ones that involve catching a certain number of pokemon of a specific type require you to catch 50 of every one. Of course, someone would never naturally catch 50 of the same type of pokemon over the course of the story. So you have to fast travel around and just throw pokeballs at low level pokemon until you reach an overall total of 50 fire types, 50 flying types, etc. It doesn't feel like you are collecting specimens to help her research pokemon; you dont feel like you are making any kind of difference at all. At least Legends: Arceus made you feel like you were creating one of the first comprehensive encyclopedias of pokemon and their abilities. And what will probably end up being the final task for many players is really the worst of them all: winning 1000 pokemon battles. If the player just does the required battles for the main story to progress, he might be at 500 or less by the time the credits roll. There is no other way to get the remaining battles required besides burning time by grinding. It's a time sink. And as any player can see from the start, the rewards for the final two research levels are a singular Master Ball and the Shiny Charm. Of course, in order to get the Master Ball, you have to complete the pokedex and earn the research points from doing so. You dont have the chance to use it on a legendary or really tough pokemon. As for the Shiny Charm, that only has value as a post-game item if you shiny hunt. Otherwise it is useless. If you do 10 battles on average per night of Battle Royale, and you start at 500 battles out of 1000, it would take you 50 Battle Royales to finally reach the goal. A night cycle in ZA lasts 8 minutes. If you were to get 10 battles within those 8 minutes every single time, you would be able to reach 500 battles in 400 minutes, which is almost 7 hours of gameplay, no breaks. The player also has to walk around and search for these battles and actively think about the best moves to use against the variety of pokemon that can appear, so it isn't hours of pressing the same button. There are other options, such as repeatedly fighting in the battle cafés, which does involve pressing the same buttons over and over, which is a pain in its own right. Or, one could repeatedly do the Jacinthe tournament quest, where each of the 4 Jacinthe battles counts as a battle. But, say you started at 600/1000 battles. You'd have to do her tournament 100 times. For one Master Ball and a Shiny Charm that serves no purpose besides making shinies show up more often. This is a lot of effort for a not so useful reward. It's disappointing to have a medicore game followed up by such a slog of a post-game. Which is why, after starting to dig into this quest to catch all those pokemon and do those battles, that I decided to just drop the game and move on. Has any other anon felt this way about the game? >>1297 I had no idea that series had a red haired milf, I'll have to try it out now.

Anyone remember /v/'s recommended games on wikia? It's been ages since I used it, since it had been compromised by newfags with shit taste putting things like Assassin's Creed IV: Black Fag, and Dark Souls 2 on the lists. However I could still rely on the lists for older consoles that newfags won't touch to be consistently good. Apparently they got kicked off of wikia sometime in the last few years but have managed to port the whole contents of the wiki to a new place called miraheze.org. It's much cleaner and not full of fucking ads so the actual site content gets to use all the space. https://vsrecommendedgames.miraheze.org/wiki/PlayStation_2

I played and loved Arc The Lad: Twilight of Spirits when I was a kid. One day in a used game store, I think it was a Replays, I saw Arc The Lad: End of Darkness. Based on the pictures and description on the back, I had come to believe they reused all the assets from the last game, including unique characters, to make another game in a totally different setting with totally different characters, but using the same models. Only now did I remember, and decide to look it up, and realize that it's actually a sequel taking place 5 years later. I don't know why I didn't consider it. Maybe I remembered the ending being pretty conclusive without room for a sequel? Why didn't I look it up? Teenage me must've been a fucking retard. I must have seen that game in Replays over 15 years ago now. All this time I had been missing out. I probably didn't buy it because I didn't have any money and was just browsing while my parents were there for their own stuff, getting cheap under the counter deals and selling off our old game collections for drug money. Now I need to replay the whole game again, and then play the sequel too. I made pic related 7 years ago. Once I'm done I hope there's porn, though I'm not betting on it. I loved Bebedora, and Darc's demon girlfriend was hot too, though I forget her name.

>>1382 As i recall, Black Flag was one of the better ass creed games, and you sound like a poser faggot for shitting on it. P sure DS2 was trash, though.

>>1386 That's just modern games in general.
>>1387 No, it's just modern triple gay trash being given a pass because of branding.
>>1373 No, they did a short anime series to end things with Ash and he looks a little less dopey and less tan. According to that leak that happened awhile back, internally the team was very worried about moving on from Ash, and wanted to be sure they dealt with things carefully as to not anger fans too much.
>>1389 >he looks a little less dopey and less tan It's something, I suppose. So he finally became a champion? But did he bang Misty?
>>1390 >2nd and 3rd pic what the fudge???? It's really sad to see how much the quality of the artstyle has gone down since the first season. No shade on the ones who made these edits tho
>>1390 >So he finally became a champion? Yes, he won the Alola League and won the Champion League, the latter of which happened during the special series right before "To Be A Pokemon Master." So technically he became champ twice. >But did he bang Misty? He does meet up with her again for one final adventure. Apparently, at the end of the final episode, he walks into the sunset with Pidgeot and Pikachu. Maybe he's off to meet Misty by the waterfall. >>1391 >spoiler Yeah, probably to fit in with the rounder, cuter looking animation that most shows have today, especially for the younger crowd.
Super Mario Galaxy is surprisingly playable with only a mouse and a keyboard.

>Rumble begins popping up Cloudflare verification messages >Have to switch from using Ungoolagged Chromium to Pale Moon to use the site Because Cloudflare wants me to reverify if I'm human whenever I click on any fucking page >Bitchute does the same thing >Site begin to freeze Pale Moon every 30 second >CDRomance and MobyGames join in Oh, for fucks sake!!! They really want to make the internet as unusuable as possible, don't they?
>>1481 I'm on Ungulagged Chromium and a VPN that tends to make mainstream sites tell me to fuck off, and I can load CDRomance just fine without a cuckflare popup. You sure it's not your particular VPN or something?

>Finally get The Conduit duology on the Wii >Remember playing the first game years ago and being rather thrilled with it >Play through it again >The first game is still great >Basically feels like a cross between the first Halo and National Treasure >Ends on a cliffhanger that makes me excited for the second games >Finally load up Conduit 2 The ever-living fuck is this shit? <Sprinting and scopes are now a thing because....well, CoD has it <The ASE goes from being a magical mystery flashlight to the scan visor from Metroid Prime, except you can't see shit without turning it off <All the weapons have been nerfed to the point that they're trash <The only weapons you need throughout the entire game is the shotgun and the SCAR <Boss battles get progressively easier and smaller the further into the game you get <The story is beat-for-beat copied from Halo 2 <Drops everything having to do with conspiracy theories from the first game to go in the direction of Ancient Aliens <Prometheus goes from being an unforunate victim of Adam's plans (Akin to District 9) to being THE' Prometheus, and Adams is his brother <The game becomes a globe-trotting adventure that basically boils down to the plot of The One with Jet Li <A mountain temple in China, the Siberian wastes, and a lost city in the Amazon (THREE FUCKING ROOMS) manage to have smaller levels than the first game taking place across a singular U.S. city <Graphics are so pitiful that it looks like your average PS2 game <Game ends after the second act with the main antagonist dead Why do I feel so damn angry?
>>1576 >fps on the wii Do they use the IR pointer to move the camera around or the nunchuck?
>>1590 Nearly every Wii shooter I can think uses the IR censor to move the camera. Though there are some like RE4 and Spy Games which operate on tank controls.
