Four Hotel Adam Sandler movies and this is what they green light. https://archive.md/sDJ6M
Is this the "R-rated comedy" they were talking about five years ago? What happaned with Black Knight?
Tartakovsky fell hard into whatever shit you might call that.
I'm getting some real hard John K vibes from that image. >>34722 I mean, you gotta pay the bills somehow. I know a lot of his past stuff was more for the art than for the money but you gotta wonder if he hasn't made enough from the multiple million dollar blockbusters he's worked on already.
>>34726 Didn't he make a decent chunk of money for working on the Hotel Transylvania franchise for almost a decade? it is weird he's working on a R-rated comedy after all this time, it looks like out or nowhere, I think the last thing the closest thing he worked on was Clone High and thay was almost two decades ago.
>>34728 He did those movies just so he can make Popeye, which Sony canceled with extreme retardation.

>>34720 >Adam Devine as a neutered mutt Pottery

Why not just work on the ren and stimpy reboot? Ffs genndy, this was a missed opportunity!
>>34721 Yes, this is the R-rated comedy. >>34720 Sony must be keeping Gendy on a slave's leash. I hope it's good, but "Adult Animated Comedy" is already a red flag. >>36942 Will the Ren and Stimpy reboot be worth watching? Everything after John K left was awful, and this is visible as early as the first episode of the third season. After John K left, the series was like SpongeBob with more gross out humor and questionable design decisions and far worse animation.

>>36940 >As an inferior dog breed <Referring that Devine was always mediocre at best
>>36943 It seems Ren and Stimpy will forever be infamous, after all the show was the manifestation of going through a personal hell. Spongebob just absorbed the leftovers from Games Animation to the point of questioning why rebooting R&S?
>>34720 And they shitcanned the project: https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=Bxibs7nlEjo https://archive.is/73wx6 DAVID ZASLAV HOW COULD YOU A BIGGER MASTERPIECE THAN SYMBIONIC TITAN
>>41352 Good end?
(347.29 KB 1280x1707 Adam Fighter the Turd Strike.jpg)

>>41387 For starters I'm surprised the idea wasn't conceived at Happy Madison studios, seriously the plot screams a sequel to Adam Sandler's Hannukah cartoon, but since it was made by Samurai Jack's creator then it's a misunderstood work of art.
The film has an official release date: August 13, 2025. Starring Adam Devine as Bull, Idris Elba as Rocco, Kathryn Hahn as Honey, Bobby Moynihan as Lucky, Fred Armisen as Fetch, Beck Bennett as Sterling, River Gallo as Frankie, and Michelle Buteau as Molasses. Here are some stills. Thanks a lot, Netflix.
>>45118 Holy shit it lives?!
Also >big smug lady dog WOULD
>>45379 Would be based. So by all means, if you feel like trying, try it
>>45394 >Hotel Transylvania is shit The first one was actually kino
>>45395 I don't hate it like the other guy did but I'm not in love with the series, even the first one.
>>45395 I love all four films. I just like monsters, and both the character design and animation is a treat even if the writing takes a dip in the sequels. Also Mavis is cute. I sat through the flash cartoon just for her.
>>41389 >but since it was made by Samurai Jack's creator then it's a misunderstood work of art. The sheer number of people who honestly believe this is staggering. It's insane how much they're willing to handwave away in the face of Tartavosky's short comings just because of Samurai Jack. It really makes me thankful SBT ended the way it did, especially after how terribly he ended Samurai Jack.
>>45118 I cant believe it's still getting a release. It feels like it was made for the Spumco/John K worshipper crowd. Atleast it isnt Sausage Party i guess...
>>45589 Genndy is probably venting out after years of safeforwork comedy projects. Cartoonists really are a pent up bunch.
>>45589 >>45591 Akin to UWE, in my book he deserves the freedom to fail with an out-there project like this I'm extremely curious to see what the response to it will be from the wider cinema world, and how much it cost to produce How many hundreds of millions of dollars has Netflix flushed down the toilet on bullshit like the Electric State or Rebel Moon in just the last couple of years? Animators should be able to experiment now and again and the 50-100 mil I predict for Fixed is still chump change compared to the apocalyptic bombs Hollywood seems addicted to sharting out on the regular
>>45118 That female dog >>45589 He did Korgoth of Barbaria if you didn't know.
>>45600 Yeah Korgoth was cool and all but it's been nearly 20 years and his output has just gone to shit. He's not the infallible creative everyone thinks of him as. If you ask me he's pretty much hit the George Lucas point of his career >>45599 Sure but then dont insist that this movie is going to be a masterpiece when at best it will be another "Hell and Back". >>45591 Primal and Unicorn something something didnt offer enough room for the guy to "vent"?
>>45630 Anon, sometimes you need to go and scream out the n-word. For Genndy, he was probably itching to make an extremely ranchy animated comedy for a while now. When the urge comes, it'll sit there until the opportunity comes.
>>45630 Bro I said he deserves the chance to FAIL with an out there project like this I haven't more than the faintest hope it'll make its money back in theaters Also Primal isn't particularly out there besides fully embracing the blood and guts we got glimpses of in Korgoth or Jack S5, and UWE is tame as shit Let the man cash in his IOUs from Sony on dog balls if he so chooses
