The Wild Robot Anonymous 03/24/2024 (Sun) 21:57:50 No. 39124
A new film from Dreamworks about a robot who gets lost innawoods and goes native. I think it can work if the movie maintains the same tone the trailer does. The cast listing has me worried though.
>>39124 Big problems with this. Great trailer but ultimately misleading as the robot is voiced & probably a bunch of the animals are gonna have voices too. If it kept the tone of the trailer where it's without dialogue until the humans come into play, it'd be great. It'd be near beautiful. Instead we're assuredly getting a movie that's lying to the audience through the trailer on what it's actually gonna be like. And this list of random celebrities for the voices that don't need to be there tells me something else. Kung Fu Panda 4 was absolutely gutted in the production. The only returning voices besides Jack Black for Po were for Shifu, Ping, Li, & Tai Lung. The Furious Five show up in the credits for a training montage completely silent. Shen & Kai show up along with Tai Lung but they're completely silent. It tells me Dreamworks invested the money into getting these celebrities to voice instead of actually putting in the effort for the returning cast in Kung Fu Panda 4. Leading to the Furious Five being absent & the dead villains being out of character & or silent.
>>39124 This seems like something that belongs in the pain thread.
Reminds me of Walking with Dinosaurs, which originally had no voice-over, but the executives at 20th Century Fox, said that they needed a dub so that kids could connect with the dinosaurs.
>>39128 Man, that's dumb as fuck.
You guys mentioning the voice over ruining things reminds me of how I loved the film Two Brothers, a film centered on two tigers growing up and didn't have any voice over.
>>39131 I think I've seen that. One grew up as a pet essentially & the other was a pit fighter right?
>>39134 test
