Donghua & Manhwa Anonymous 03/03/2025 (Mon) 01:39:27 No. 44116
Ne Zha 2, sequel to Ne Zha (2019), has become the number one animated movie of all time from Chinese & worldwide audiences despite having little actual marketing put out there. It's a great movie that shows what CG animation can do along with how something marketed to kids can still be mature enough to not talk down to them nor shy away from blood or death. I recommend torrenting the first movie if you haven't then seeing the second while you still can if you have a theater showing it. Now the first was licensed by Well Go USA with english subs but this one seems to have been subbed by the studio itself. So it's less than perfect translation. If that bugs you then wait for a blu-ray with hopefully a good scrubbing. Also feel free to discuss other Chinese or Korean animated movies & shows.
>>44116 Nobody knows what this is. Just because there are a zillion chink ants that would watch it doesn't mean homo sapiens would watch this shit. This is like when indians try to claim they have successful films, as if anyone other than them would want to watch their bollywood diarrhea.
>>44119 I just explained what it is & told you to watch the first movie. Just telling you it's based on Chinese mythology won't tell you anything more.
>>44116 >the number one animated movie of all time from Chinese & worldwide audiences This is the part I was replying to. No, not "worldwide audiences." It's the equivalent of when Poos try to say some Bollywood fag is the biggest fan in the world because a billion of them know the guy. Nobody outside of their Turd World country knows or cares about their garbage.
>>44126 Difference is this movie & it's predecessor literally got western releases. People know them. If you're incapable or reading or even doing a quick google search then that's your problem, anon.
>>44127 Ever used Netflix? Not that I'd recommend it. You can be in America, but still get 90% bollywood garbage. It gets released here. But nobody cares. The thread comes across as chinese shilling.
>>44128 Gee anon it's almost like the point of thread about a lesser known media from another country is TRYING TO PROMOTE IT! SPEAKING OF WHICH, Netflix does have a good amount of foreign media not just from Japan as well. Even another different Nezha movie set in a modern day steampunk world.
Ne Zha 2's release in India is coming in one or two days! I wonder how it will do at the box office there
>>44119 Or when americans try to claim they have successful films
it has been released in india! hindi dub trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQnC7i2VlbI
>>44119 I agreed but I also have something to add The Same can be said about tranime. Millions of pedophile nipsects watch their shitty overproduced cartoons that no homo sapien with something that resembles sentience would willingly watch. Just be glad one of our racial subordinates animates correctly. Pixar's animations are produced by the crème de la crème WASP übermensch who are pvre aryans and chinksects should copy them accordingly, for they are unable to produce anything better themselves. (This is also the reason why I browse /co/ and not /a/, filthy yellow loving faggots. anime is literally the yerrow peril)
>>50773 >inb4 YOURE ON A CHAN BOARD i dont care. Fuck anime. Fuck east asians. All IQ statistics about them are made up. Ne zha is AI generated and whites are the only people who make something of value
>>50774 >>50773 I thought normalfags grew out of hating anime.
>>50776 Wtfdym?? Normies LOVE anime. Anime is not this niche thing only nerds are into anymore. It's very popular among zoomtards
>>50777 >trips Kek agrees. Anime is normalfag slop

Anybody here like Scissor Seven?
Seen it Ne Zha right now. Love it.
i tried checking out chinese cartoons like 10 years ago, and shit was pretty grim then for those of you that keep up with it, what are the current recommendations?

>>50777 Just like it was popular to hate on it.
>>44116 I approve heavily of this because it's at least not the 956th rendition of Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
>>44116 >Now the first was licensed by Well Go USA with english subs but this one seems to have been subbed by the studio itself. Just saw the first film, and it's "inbetween-quel" Jiang Ziya, and wanted to mention something about this. Both of them are good, I would recommend them, but remember that they're the CCP's attempt to push "soft power" here in the West. Don't give them a single fucking dime. Pirate this shit if you insist on watching it. The platform I watched the films on only had the English dubs. And looking things up, they have an almost entirely new cast for the English dub of the second movie. No idea why as all the previous film's voice actors are still around. The only "reason" I could think of is probably the "new mandate" from Pedowood and media that the only actors allowed to do parts are those who "reflect" the race of the character that they're playing.
>>55982 Jiang Ziya is unrelated. Same studio but not the same continuity. It's getting a new dub cast because this sequel did insane amounts of box office draw. So any licensor will want to make sure they can get a slice of that.
>>56010 >did insane amounts of box office draw It really hasn't, though. Outside of West Taiwan, the film has only managed to gross $20 million. No comment yet on if the English dub launching next week will change that, much. >So any licensor will want to make sure they can get a slice of that. If that's the case, they're not sending a good message by only having TWO of the original cast returning, themselves being the voices for "minor" characters, one of which doesn't even show up until the final 10 minutes of the movie. That's in addition to how Ne Zha 2 is very much NOT a kids movie, unlike the first one.
