How come shows like many of the Nicktoons and Cartoon Network originals always have to be presented as a half hour show? Their stories are only 11 minutes long and yet, they get paired up with another 11 minute story to make "an episode". Shouldn't it JUST be say one show airs at 5:00PM and then another show airs at 5:15PM? Why do they always gotta double up "segments" to make "an episode"? It doesn't make sense
>>48727 I also wonder this because there have been times where they only aired one SpongeBob segment by itself or way back in the day, there were times where one Rugrats segment aired by itself. So, why do they always feel the need to pair up "segments" to air them as "episodes"? To be fair, Cartoon Network stopped doing this, at least with premieres since Adventure Time and Regular Show, which tended to premiere just one eleven minute story per week, but I still don't get why networks feel the need to pair up two stories to make an episode rather than just say, air an episode of SpongeBob like Band Geeks or Mimic Madness at 5:00PM followed by an episode of Loud House at 5:15PM
>>48727 >I do not understand the reason for something therefore it doesn't make sense You could just leave it at asking the question and admitting you don't know instead of dropping the zoomer "this isn't how I would do it" punctuation. Programmers aren't going to handle blocks smaller than 22 minutes (minus ads) so shows like this package 2 11 minute episodes into one 22 minute block. And the kinds of kid shows doing 11 minute eps do this for the same reason Looney Tunes shorts were 7 minutes: pacing.
