"If parents and educators could magically beam messages into kids' heads telling them to stay in school and not use drugs we wouldn't have shows like Arthur and Franklin. If toy companies could beam messages into kids' heads telling them to buy their products there wouldn't be shows like He-Man and Ninja Turtles. If TV writers were clever enough to be stand-up comedians we wouldn't have shows like the Simpsons and South Park."
If John K. couldn't magically beam messages into CIA agents' minds to fuck him he wouldn't have gone into animation.
>>49468 *could, rather
If John could magically beam messages into 14 year old girls' heads telling them to fuck him we wouldn't need age of consent laws.
>>49475 Said it better than I did, my most sincere congratulations.
I agree with a lot of John’s opinions on animation, but at the same time, I think he should have put his money where his mouth is.
>>49461 If John K could meet deadlines and work as a team player he'd still have a viable career in animation.
>>49461 >TV writers were clever enough to be stand-up comedians we wouldn't have shows like the Simpsons and South Park. kek. roasted and based
>We live in a society Get fucked, John.
>>49461 John's heroes like Bob Clampett et al were general artists with a wide skill set and amazing imaginations. John is just a fanboy who watched those cartoons as a child and tried to emulate what he thought he was seeing there.
Cans Without Labels was not worth a 7 year wait.
>>49568 It was a 20 second cutaway gag at best but John believed that because it actually happened to him it was interesting enough to hold an entire short. I don't say this often but I think the problem with his dad was that he didn't beat John ENOUGH as a child. John sees no division between aesthetic and content, and internalized only the most superficial lessons from other animators as though anything beyond them was pretension. Genuine subnormal who encouraged an entire generation of equally uncreative people to aspire to enter animation. Also lol at him editing this old pic from his blog so that it no longer reads "Crapface the Duck" like it did for at least a decade.
>Kricfalusi claimed the inspiration for George Liquor happened one day while he was driving around Los Angeles. "I saw a liquor store called George's Liquor, only the S had fallen off the sign so it was just George Liquor. It sounded so cool that I knew I had to use it before someone else did."
John's material is nothing but toilet jokes and sendups of 1950s-60s American culture.
>>49582 This stuff is ugly and charmless.
>>49582 John's dad was like the uber-masculine, uber-raunchy authority figure he always wishes he was but he's never measured up.

>>49582 That would be cut down by about half if saved as a JPG.
Listening to him bitch about TV executives on the Popeye set is irritating.
>>49594 >before someone else did I can't imagine anyone else using it for a character lol
>Leaf >Abhorrent posts IRL Every fucking time. What is wrong with Canadians?
>>49543 I dont know how concrete that take really is. Hollywood notoriously spent the last decade chasing out veteran artists and animators to make room for all the partisan faggots that pushed beanmouth and fag propaganda.
>>51012 They have no national identity beyond thinking themselves superior to Americans. Their entire existence has been in service to either Britain or America. They're a faux nation. Day of the rake cant come soon enough.
>>49607 All while lamenting the death of American theatrical animation only to produce more cheap gross out humor garbage in the same breath
The butthurt in this thread is delicious. Just an FYI, even with better tools and support you'll never be even half the animator John K was because great art is a result of struggle and you're too scared of being seen as incompetent to ever dare greatly.
>>51158 Which is funny since John K isn't half the animator he was in the 90's so it evens out.
>>49563 And the worst part is: the amounts of aspiring artists wanting to recreate Ren and Stimpy's humor, which is ironic if you recall the art director behind the Animaniacs reboot was one of John's victims, she never broke the cycle and kept on raping.
>>51162 Is that Uncle Ruckus?
>>51152 I'm fairly certain it isn't and it's just leftists being allergic to having taskmasters who actually push them to work beyond "good enough". The same thing happened to Beyond Good & Evil 2 where they couldn't take Michel Ancel caring about his passion project. The combination of his team's incompetence + character-assassinating victimhood tactics and Ubisoft's shittiness (like wanting to copypaste Asscreed's gameplay) broke his spirit, making him retire from video games altogether.
