>If that is the explanation really hoping Disney doesn't try to be current issue with it.
They are.
>Zootooia Mammals and other classes of sapient non-mammals just being isolationist and racist towards each other would make sense though.
That doesn't matter. I used to have the same complaints until I realized the enitire ideological framekwork of the world for these peope.

>Beastars didn't bring in reptiles like Legoshi's grandfather until later.
What about the serpent security guard that tasks Legosi with solving the murder
and then never shows up ever again?
>Then even later after that we're told about fish & marine mammals. World building can be slowly dripped with every entry.
Beastars is an absolutely
TERRIBLE example of world building. As the second half of the series introduces plot points to move the story along, and
ONLY to move the story along, just to discard them 10 seconds later. For example, remember that Stands are a thing in the Beastars universe? Or that the
current Beastar somehow gets away with outright murder of innocent carnivors, as he uses their corpse's as fertilizer for his garden (
And he's only doing it because Legosi's grandpa "selfishly" wanted to start a family)?
>it's obvious the snake will be framed for a crime Nick & Judy know he didn't commit.
I'm with the other Anon, I'm placing my bets on the story being about immigration with the snake's "only" crime being that he's there in the first place.
