Animaniacs Reboot Anonymous 10/12/2020 (Mon) 19:49:06 No. 6017
A trailer just popped up this week. How does it look so far? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mh_vASjvYQE
>>6017 Like shit. >25 year old movie "parody" >steven "lolita express frequent flier" (((spielberg))) acting like he's an actual cartoonist creator & not just a studio director >guaranteed to be woke It's a disaster in the making.
>>6017 Don't like anyone else's animation, but the way the Warner Brothers (and sister) move seems promising. Maybe everyone else's animation was different and less fluid intentionally to highlight this? Of course they seem to be overselling the nostalgia pandering a good bit, and I don't have much hope for modern cartoons. Will wait and see when it actually airs. >>6018 >>25 year old movie "parody" That's what you take issue with, when what they bringing back is a show from the same time period?
>>6019 Because no one cares. Movie parodies are lazy & easy to write. They're done to death & now they're being brought back with a show no one wanted.
>>6019 The Warner Brothers (and Sister) did look smooth but the other real life characters looked a little stiff to me as well. It'll probably be okay like the new Looney Tunes show but I fear for what Warner Bros. does behind the scenes since they do own Animaniacs. They made Fudd wield a scythe instead of a gun and they did removed controversial animated episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Boondocks off their streaming platform. They probably could get away with more since it's on hulu but things could change easily on a whim.
>>6017 I still don't understand why people have fond memories about this show, even when I was a kid I knew they were a bastardize bland and boring version of the original Looney Tunes, do boomers really have this shit taste that they bring this shit came to life?
>>6027 Anon, you'll find that a LOT of the cartoons that people fondle over from the 90's and 2000's are nowhere nearly as good as they make them out to be. That's not saying that they're bad, they just remember the better episodes.
>>6027 > I knew they were a bastardize bland and boring version of the original Looney Tunes Sure thing John K.
>>6033 John K. is even more autistic than that. He doesn't like that they mixed elements from 1920s cartoons with elements from 1930s cartoons, showing that the creators were filthy casuals who didn't know the difference. And he's right.
>>6033 No, seriously, I was like, five when I first watched Animaniacs and I knew it was shit. >>6031 >That's not saying that they're bad, they just remember the better episodes. Fair enough
>>6018 >guaranteed to be woke Goodbye, Nurse
(14.46 KB 136x403 Hello Nurse.jpg)

They'll finally finger Prince but pic related won't even be referenced.

>>6389 What the fuck are all those hideous background characters?!
(1.56 MB 1920x1080 Drumpf.png)

>>6389 At least one Trump joke/reference was inevitable, but this doesn't seem to be at the same level as "Bill Clinton plays the sax" and I bet they won't make fun of Biden.
(677.82 KB 1280x720 ClipboardImage.png)

>>6392 Course they won't make fun of Biden. At best you can expect a caricature but nothing mean spirited. Just like how South Park will shit on Trump for like 5 seasons but will barely even touch Hillary beyond calling her dumb.
>>6389 The animation barely looks above the level of Johnny Test before it got canned and they definitely didn't use their best material in the trailer. A lot of the jokes they showed in the trailer had a decent enough setup but fucked up the punchline. I wonder how long this'll last.
>>6392 Haha, Orange Man bad, amirite fellow 90s kids? :^)
>>6389 >Blacklight >Black people in the foreground and very middle of the background >Almost think they made a black people joke before noticing the white people here and there in the background All the non-Warners have shit modern animation and the Warners only have good animation occasionally, with most of it being the same shitty modern animation every other character is getting. The initial reveal had Warners alone with good animation while the humans in the trailer had shit new animation, and I thought this might be an intentional difference. But no, it's just that they don't want to shell out the cash for good animation all the time and instead only put some here and there.
>>6397 > it's just that they don't want to shell out the cash for good animation all the time and instead only put some here and there Doesn't that basically describe all those direct-to-video cartoon films that littered the late-90's, early 2000's (With the exception of the first four Scooby Doo films)?
(302.16 KB 1280x960 Void.jpg)

>>6392 >muh drumpf >animation looks okay in some parts, other it just looks like shit >nigger joke I went what when I saw the blacklight thing No hello nurse, just references galore sure like before but come on if you're gonna try comedy go another route here. I really don't care honestly.
>>6389 >Disabled ratings and comments It's going to definitively be shit.
>>6433 >>nigger joke Not quite.
That's it, gross!

>>7419 You missed a spot.
>>7430 As predicted How can people not be cynical?
>>7419 Holy shit did they preemptively accuse Trump of rigging the election? I thank God himself in heaven every day that I wasn't born a millennial.
>>7430 Isn't the joke about stupid people in high responsibility positions either that they Mr. Magoo their way to success or manage to skate by unscathed while they destroy everything in their wake?
>>7419 >>7430 Reminder the original made fun of Saddam without demonizing iraq and the Iraqi people. This shit just leftwing pro war propaganda.

Animaniacs with Toilet jokes and left-wing propaganda. Good thing I didn't pay a dim for this grotesque.
>>7441 Of course they didn't just demonize Putin, Russia is essentially European and Western to the average Amerimutt
>>7444 >Amerimutt I never knew /intl/ came back.

>>>/v/158098 >propaganda and popculture references, that won't age your show like a glass of milk in the Sahara On the subject of satire in TV shows not aging well, I would like to put forth what I call Nixon's Law of satire. Nixon's presidency ended on August 9, 1974. On December 12, 1999 the Futurama episode A Head in the Polls aired. In spite of the fact that the show referenced events from a little over 25 years ago, the episode not only worked, but they were able to continue to make use of the head of Richard Nixon as a character for; IIRC, the rest of the show. The fact that they were satirizing events from 25 years ago is not unrelated to the fact that Nixon worked in the show, they are very much related. 25 years after is a good time to wait to satirize something, as after 25 years, if people are still talking about it then its pretty unlikely that people will stop talking about it for quite some time.
>>7445 They weren't really gone. They just rebranded themselves as /abdl/.
>>7430 >>7419 It looks like the show is pozzed to the max.
>>7447 Didn’t one of the writers admit they dropped Richard Nixon because they accidentally humanized and made him too likable?

>>7453 Animaniacs 2020
>>7453 >>7454 It's been so long since I've watched Animaniacs. The old series was heavy on visual gags, and it didn't date itself. Even the big hollywood actor is an amalgam of multiple actors. The new series immediately dates itself and it feels vicious in its satire. It feels like it was made by rabid kikes and dikes. Rather than focusing on comedy and a story, the show focuses on politics and being witty for the sake of being witty.
>>7454 > The Internet contains the sum of human knowledge. As a programmer, I get incredibly angry when I see this fallacy propagated. There's so much knowledge that isn't even hidden behind paywalls: it's just operational. As Dr. Kahan says: the algorithms that you find on the Internet (or in books, as he put it) are often not the algorithms that have stood the test of time, but rather have withstood the test of time: they are the ones people remember, rather than the ones that deliver good results. Imagine: Yakko's idea of GamerGate is Wikipedia and Gawker's account of it.
>>7483 But, what about all those AIs that companies release onto the internet that immediately desire to make the Holohaox a reality after a week of operation?
>>6345 Oh she'll be referenced all right, just not in a way anyone who liked her will enjoy.
>>7486 They're not real AIs, they're just text generators that people feed wrongthink for a giggle. Since they don't think, they don't process contradictory information as a paradox and choose A over B to parrot unless the person managing them forcefully censors certain terms and phrases. Yakko's ingestion of the "the internet" just gets "truth". Whatever the MSM and other "official" sources say happened.
>>7496 >>6345 They have already said that she won't be returning: http://www.freezepage.com/1605947836REDXMEUEHX
>>7454 >>7483 >Tablet... So, Yakko swallowed the black pill?
I knew this was going to be bad since most modern reboots are but I didn't think they'd butcher it so much. I'm seeing a lot of people saying it's not so bad because their expectations were lowered with Thundercats Roar and She-Ra but it's still bad. They didn't even consult the original show creator and he got hurt bad (I mean literally) when he heard the news from his VA friend. They got rid of Hello Nurse because it's problematic. Missing many of the other casts that aren't just the Warner Brothers and the Warner Sister. Missing guest voices likely because they may be problematic. Also, full of Trump jokes when the original had an even keel on making fun of every one. This might have been a perfect example of why modern cartoons suck if it went full bean mouth and calarts but I guess they had to keep some semblance of the original or not many people would see it. Too bad that still didn't work because I hardly see anyone talking about it at all.
>>7510 I was willing to at least give it a chance because I was hearing mixed things from most of the people I talked to about it, but hearing that the show's creator wasn't involved at all and they turned him down when he asked to be involved made me do a 180 and decide never to watch it.

>>7597 DIos mio... >The libertarian community
>>7597 How the hell did that kid end up darker than either of his parents?
>>7601 Genetics but cuckoldry wouldn't surprise me one bit. Apparently it is totally possible for a quadroon's baby to come out fully black because of the genetic lottery.
>>7602 >Apparently it is totally possible for a quadroon's baby to come out fully black because of the genetic lottery. Yeah but it's not just skin color. His hair texture and facial features look considerably more black than the mother's. It looks like she cucked Trey with Don Lemon or some shit.
>>7603 >>7602 >>7601 The kid was Trey's stepson. He divorced Boogie Tillmon in 2019 due to "irreconcilable differences." That photo makes her look whiter than she is too. >>7603 >hair Things like wigs, weaves, straightening treatments, and extensions exist. Who knows what her true hair looks like.
>>7597 >Trey Parker's niggermutt step son Just goes to show you can have money and fame, a successful show running for 20+ years and still be completely fucking retarded. >both of them are at it What the fuck is Matt Stone thinking? She looks like Danny John Jules. He's gonna end up with a police line-up of mongrel kids like Robert DeNiro.
>>7430 >Hello Nurse is funny because Women r dum That has to be projection. it's not even close to the point of the gag. >>7451 >Didn’t one of the writers admit they dropped Richard Nixon because they accidentally humanized and made him too likable? As far as i know he stayed on until the end and he was definitely in the final seasons. Even in the second election episode, where they had a chance to replace him with obvious Obama stand-in they didn't do it.
>>7602 It's because African Genetics are incredibly strong, so it becomes a real bitch to clean off.
(2.47 MB 1404x987 nooldbaby.png)

>>7447 This is the oldest example of horribly aging political satire I'm aware of. It's a good reminder of just how terrible it looks to someone who isn't in the writer's present since it's a small detail, but so utterly bizarre to the modern eye it attracts all attention. Even historians aren't entirely sure what "No Old Baby!" means. Best guess is it was mocking a political figure with the surname "Child", but I've found at least two other theories on it.
>>7939 It's one thing for a "political cartoon," (as in the actual genre seen in newspapers and such) to make very timely, and not at all timeless, jokes. It's quite another for a piece that is actually supposed to be good, that is supposed to be entertaining and not just literally expressing the author's opinion on something. Even old Animaniacs, with Bill Clinton references, wouldn't be put in the same league as some fucking newspaper doodle. It certainly wasn't put in just to push the writer's opinion, so it is much more timeless. Clinton was president and he played the saxophone on tv that time. You don't need to know anything more than that to understand it, and the briefest knowledge of American History will tell you that much.
(430.56 KB 837x482 simon is gay.png)

>>6017 Literally Animaniacs: Adult Party, why it's going to last? Simple: One sided jokes, nostalgia cashgrab, reddit pop culture references (one of the writers is best known for working at Family Goy) and unnecessary gross out humor just to compensate the lack satire from both sides. I'm more surprised how they managed to keep their original designs, those horrible strict rightwing model sheets The real question is how did the degenerates Dotfags react to this? The only funny joke was Johnny Depp's movie poster, just showing how they threw him under the bus despite his Funny or Die DRUMPF video. >>7453 >Co-creator of Bosko the Clown Does that mean Bosko is the forgotten 4th Warner Brother, a loose reference to how the brothers had a falling out with their last brother? Also haven't noticed that Hello Nurse is immortal.
>>6017 >Second season confirmed >Yet no signs of returning the missing cast >More Ren & Stimpy gross out humor <More fucking Warner Bros and Pinky & The Brain instead That Family Goy writer can't still reach the high bar now even with a hook, also didn't the show end like there was nothing else to do with it? >>7503 Faggots...
>>18983 >Actual functioning guys are going out with real girls and having sex >Weeb virgins like your pic are jizzing over generic fake 2D whores from forgotten weebshit while sinking into more degeneracy and becoming the nect Chris Chan Wonder when the Daisyfag is gonna fucks his mom?
>>18983 I watched some of the first season and won't be watching the second. I'll just support the original.
>>19113 I find it funny how the girl who got molested by John K. now works on the cartoon he despises. What was his reaction now that it became another gross out humor much like his Adult Party reboot?
>>7549 In glass houses.........
>>19226 I think he's been more focused on trying to stop 'Comedy Central Presents: Ren and Stimpy' via legal means. But he probably took delight in the negative feedback it got.
>season 2 trailer >no one talking about it on Cuckchan /co/umblr >no one talking about on 8 /co/ >no one talking about it on YouTube No one gives a fuck about this reboot? Not even twitter?
Anon, stop going to cuckchannel.
>>19226 >molested Didn't she just accuse him of touching himself while on the phone or something? And I don't recall any proof being provided even of that. By exaggerating this badly, our society is doing a severe disservice to people who were actually molested, not to mention people who get treated like molesters when they're not.
>>19614 A majority of those that remember the original didn't even watch season one. Why? Lack of original cast and biased jokes. It will be the same with Tiny Toons. Because it's already been confirmed Elmira won't be in it. They excluded an iconic, well remembered original character over muh modern times. So why even bother? >>19615 John K may be a narcissistic ass. But I don't think there was any "Hey, wanna see muh wiener... sketches?" >By exaggerating this badly, our society is doing a severe disservice to people who were actually molested, not to mention people who get treated like molesters when they're not. Not to say most aren't. Though to make allegations towards someone after so many years is not really applaud worthy. And such cases should be thoroughly investigated.
>>19633 >It will be the same with Tiny Toons. Because it's already been confirmed Elmira won't be in it. They excluded an iconic, well remembered original character over muh modern times. So why even bother? It's funny. Back in the day it was that people didn't really like Elmyra, but the corporate faggots couldn't get enough of her (Remember when they tried to have her take over Pinky & The Brain?). Now corporate faggots cut her out because they think modern audiences won't like her, but for all the wrong reasons.

>>19633 >>19615 >But I don't think there was any "Hey, wanna see muh wiener... sketches?" There was.
>>19638 I remember both Pinky, Elmyra, & the Brain and Pinky, the Brain, and Larry. But apparently the reason behind all that was to get them away from the world domination shtick. Whereas now, certain characters are too dated for modern audiences and will make them cry. >>19641 I stand corrected. But is that not a beer and her arm hanging over the man's leg?
>>19614 Almost like Tumblr?Twitter is a vocal minority or something.
Cancer, pure fucking cancer
>>19716 >michelle obama is an icon Um I thought this song was about first LADIES?
>>19716 She can't sing, it's more shouting at this stage. And no Nancy Reagan? She was basically running the country after Ronald started getting dementia, not as bad as current prez but still.
>>19716 >not really funny >song all wonky because the names don't flow >most are unremarkable people and so they just namedrop them not sure why they bothered, I learned nothing
>>19716 No, Dot. Micheal Obama forced that school lunch reform and kids couldn't even bring their own chocolate milk to school. They did this on account of Yakko's World Song, Wakko's America Song, and their Presidents Song. I don't have too much of a problem with it. But difference is always better. Having her sing a song entirely about past pop culture would have been better.
>>19724 I don't understand why they made it, the point of the presidents song was so that kids would learn a tidbit about each one, or at least memorize some of them since that's decent bar trivia. And they were in order, too. >>19752 It could have just been famous women in history: Cleopatra, Helen of Troy, Marie-Antoinette, Queen Victoria, Amelia Earhart... Or musicians, actresses, or anything. The first ladies is such a shit topic because so many of them did jack shit. Also the animation fucking sucks.
>>19724 >not sure why they bothered, I learned nothing You really aren't sure? You don't understand that their entire motivation is just feminist propaganda?
>>19715 Did they just use their lustful catchphrase on their sister?
>>19722 >And no Nancy Reagan? Ronald Reagan still a boogeyman to Calart students. Despite her being a progressive leftist 70s and 80s standards.
>>6017 Saw another clip, this time Warner's CEO fucking up and letting her child throw shit everywhere like a chimpanzee. Are they suggesting colored folks can't run a company? >>6392 >Biden <Leaving soldiers to their death at Afghanistan <Shouting "niggers" any time he wants and his league of dipshit covering his ass <That retarded CNN dyke trying to show sandniggers are peaceful <Backstabbing leftwing faggots <Backstabbing his own supporters <Pinching CIA agents on front of cameras They could make a whole special about him, he's a joke that keeps on giving.
>>19991 no no, they said doctor, not nurse+the inflection ins no the same
>>19991 No, they respectably acknowledged that liking sexy women is bigoted and that chasing women you're attracted to is problematic. Doing hyperbole ridden spoofs and gags via animation of that is also not cool for school. Treat them with the respect they deserve chud.
(264.27 KB 637x360 ed.png)

>>19716 Her voice is breaking throughout and the song it's self really starts to fall apart at about 1:18 then just snowballs into a rolling turd. >>19722 She got a passing mention.
>>19641 To think the reboot is now focusing on gross out humor, John K. raped her so bad her artstyle was also affected. >>20096 >>20169 Considering a Family Guy writer is involved, it's no surprise he's injecting his degeneracy into the cartoon while hypocritically removing the nurse.
>>20169 >>20178 i just noticed something, in >>7430 are they calling the writers of the original show sexists, or im i imagining things?
>>20175 Who's the fatso?
(414.13 KB 528x604 soycommie.png)

>>20185 Pretty much, it looks like they deliberately misinterpreted the idea of the hot nurse character and reactions to her in order to blithely heap opprobrium on the past and show how ENLIGHTENED they are in comparison now. However the fact that they missed the point totally and fabricated a blatantly sexist interpretation as a strawman just shows how totally shit they are. I wager pic related is the face the nu-soy writers made upon remembering she existed. >>20187 No-one of significance just an example of a drunk the Betty Ford clinic would 'clean-up'.
>>6345 >>7430 What's doubly stupid is they could have just repurposed 'Hello Nurse' to fit their wokeshit agenda, just have her move up the ladder to a buttoned up hospital manager instead. Have the boys roll in to ogle her then she deflates them by revealing her new position and less slutty outfit. Would have been much less obnoxious than just deleting her and trying to retcon the past into something it never was. >>7419 Just looking at these again it's like something from a parallel universe, the pernicious political bullshit is repellent but I do love how they smugly churn this shit out but got everything wrong.
>>20192 >Have the boys roll in to ogle her then she deflates them by revealing her new position and less slutty outfit no, the warner bros could realize that since she is no longer a nurse they can't really say "hello nurse", and through a smidge of thought on what they could say to her as a greeting come to the realization that(to my knowledge as someone that only knows a bit of the show through things that are talked online, never set aside the time to watch it so i could be wrong), they have never asked/ addressed her by name, which would then lead to them apologizing, introducing themselves formally and then asking for her name................. which i just looked up, and according to https://animaniacs.fandom.com/wiki/Hello_Nurse her name is Heloise Nerz... which as (you), a man 'o culture might have realized, would lead to the warner bros to greeter in the exact same tone by saying "Hellooooooooooo Nerz", and perhaps dot a few times with "how's it going Heloise" or some shit its brilliant, it writes itself... so long as you aren't a communist demagog that is, in such case you won't ever write a thing like that for as long as you live.

>>20189 Same with Minerva Mink. But it all makes me glad to have grown up in the non-PC era of cartoons and comics. How can they not see the gimmick behind Hello Nurse and Minerva Mink? >>20196 But wait... There's More! In issue 29 of the comics it's also implied that she's an undercover agent for a top-secret fraction of secretness. They could have easily went with that. But these idiots don't like reading continuations of something they never watched in the first place.
>>20199 What nobody is saying explicitly, but you are getting at, is that the character was already feminist messaging, but these idiots are too stupid to understand it. They did the same thing with PowerPuff Girls and plenty of other things they've adapted/ruined in the past.
>>19716 What a shitty song, no flow, so poorly written they had to insert a meta-joke about her running out of time. Toon was garbage.

>>20465 It's almost as if they were deliberately trying to go the John K's Adult Party Cartoon route. But I'm going to re-watch the first 11 eps and share my two cents here. The reboot is entertaining. Though not in the way they expected it.
>>20465 Do they ever mention Xi or Kim?
>>20468 Nope. Their main concern is only Trump, the Russians, muh Russian interference, Putin, gun lobbying, and Tucker Carlson. I'm suprised they didn't have Trump chasing Comy around like the Road Runner.
I tried watching this with a younger relative since we enjoyed the original when I showed it to him. Needless to say, we couldn't get past episode 2, this shit is eye-roll inducing. I can't think of a single funny moment.
>>20470 I've heard people say S2 was a marked improvement but whatever

>>20473 If they stopped with the Russians, Trump, feminism, and all that other stuff after episode 2. It would be a lot better than it is, even with the many adult jokes that contradicts their Hello Nurse and Minerva claims. But the writers were clearly out to prove several points. One of which being that they obviously worship Putin than his own people. >>20492 They do seem to have some problems.
>>20519 It's not a bad Pinky & the Brain short. It just draws a lot of questions like other things in the reboot.

>>20520 Yeah... The Brain was about to kiss a distraught Pinky. On the cheek or mouth? The world may never known. But he was gonna do it.
>>7483 >As a programmer, I get incredibly angry when I see this fallacy propagated. I really like this quote.
>>20521 Can't unsee how cheap the artstyle has gotten, remove the Warners and the show could pass as one of those forgotten Canadian cartoons.

>>20543 The art style is not as bad as the forced jokes and quips. But the did reuse certain background characters a lot.

>>20618 With some characters it's almost as if their facial structure were deliberately modeled from mice. Whereas others are just overly elongated and turned up.
But it's not hard to see which celebrity etc. they respect more.
>>20623 Why do they hate him?
>>20623 They all still look deformed as shit, like they got stuck doing a face gag. >>20628 Probably becase there's enough shitty talk show hosts, other being Pete Homes (The one with "What if Super Mario was realistic lmao" and was ripped off by Dorkly)
>>20216 It's not 'their brand' of feminism though, it has to be obnoxious and completely humourless to fit into their schema.

>>20618 https://yewtu.be/Cg_864IFv-I It's not just the artstyle, media mementos made a pretty damn good video with everything (or most things) wrong with a-numaniacs
>>6017 it looks like this to me:
>>20614 It's bad but I would that nondescript hippie lady with the large milkers.
>>40467 One of the fucking animators made a self insert into the Yakko Amakko episode, she looked a stereotypical tumblrina who vaguely remembers WB4Kids but gets hard when reminiscing it.
>>20614 Chink loli is cute at least.
