>>29638 Bokkun!
What is the bump limit on 8chan threads? Is it 750 like at 4chan?
>>29924 It's not a big issue because the board is slow unlike /vg/ and won't archive the thread fast, i guess we could wait until we reach 1000.
>>29920 I'm going through 360+ GB of retro game magazine scans, deleting most of it, and keeping whatever has Sonic on it.
Just Metal.
>>29923 Bokkun should be canon
>>29896 >>29822 I've never watched a soap opera before why is the Archie considered one? Is it abnormal or normal for these sorts of comics.
>>29922 4chan is a much larger website with a lot more activity. I think the moderation team was surprisingly good for what it was (especially considering janitors aren't paid, maybe that's something they should have invested in) so I defend it in that sense. I understand the frustration in them not dealing with board-specific or general-specific drama like our resident shitposters and such, but they have hundreds of sub-communities all with their own lore and characters and that's hard to keep up with, they were usually quick to take care of broader issues like board spam or illegal material. Now all that said when the site exploded I was banned for a month and they didn't tell me the reason or apply the ban consistently so I'm pretty sure I said some opinion that pissed off some janitor or mod and they banned me to take me away from something I cared about, so it's funny that they lost authority while we were in the middle of that. I don't wanna hold grudges but yeah screw that guy lol.
>>29930 I've seen plenty of soap operas. The true definition of a soap opera is roughly the same as slice of life. Wikipedia defines soap operas as series following the same cast of characters, featuring melodrama, ensemble casts, and sentimentality. All self serious entries in the Sonic franchise generally carry these traits but melodrama is unique to Archie, IDW, and really only a small number of episodes from other series that just happen to be melodramatic because they are childrens media taking themselves extremely seriously.
>>29932 What's melodrama? And Is it defined the same for Sonic fans as elsewhere? Some words in fandom get their meaning skewed inside the fanbase eventually I noticed
>>29932 Also thanks for answer
>>29931 >I think the moderation team was surprisingly good for what it was LMAO yeah, no. They allowed spam and off-topic shit no matter how much it got reported, but if you posted anything that set a powermod off for whatever reason, you'd get a 3-day ban since that's the longest vacation you can get without being allowed to appeal it. That incident you had? It's a universal problem. I and others I know have gotten banned for making posts that didn't violate any rules because some faggot who does it for free decided to somehow take personal offense to them. I'm glad their shit got leaked.
>>29937 >three day bans that pissed me off so much. if you get banned unfairly you can’t do shit, and it was too lenient of a punishment for actual shitposters.
>>29933 You are correct. Melodrama in the Sonic fandom is different from melodrama in the rest of media. We know this because outside of the Sonic fandom, Sonic X, Sonic 06, and occasionally the adventure titles get labeled as melodramatic. To take a situation with an unnecessary level of seriousness. Gravitas. Drama. Archie differs from the games because there is interpersonal drama that the games simply don't have. Drama meant for teenagers to relate to. In Sonic games, the drama you get is universal. Life threatening stuff. Someone is traumatized because someone else died. Someone is furious because they have been trapped or sealed away. Must protect something. Taken with absolute seriousness. To the common person this may be melodramatic because they are talking animals. To a Sonic fan this is the standard. Archie conflicts often (but not predominantly) involve stuff like romance, betrayal, loads of dead or missing loved ones. Love triangles. Characters fighting over personal issues that don't fall into the greater scope. Sonic and Sally fighting because Sonic would rather keep fighting than stay with her, compared to Sonic and Knuckles fighting over a random misunderstanding that doesn't really emotionally affect them at all. And yes, I feel compelled to note that Satam, despite inspiring Archie, was devoid of any of this stuff. The games would never have Sonic disrespect Tails while his parents are in jail. Or Tails crying because Sonic is banging his crush. The games would never have Sonic have any relationship troubles. The games do not have the melodrama of Archie. To say that the games never have melodrama at all, by sonic standards, is still wrong. Frontiers is incredibly melodramatic, as the characters treat the situation they are in with an incredibly dour tone despite having gone through worse routinely. The game is going for a certain aesthetic and vibe. Nothing wrong with that but it is the star example for a "melodramatic" Sonic title.
>>29931 >4chan is a much larger website with a lot more activity yes, with 50 million bots, 500 trolls and a bunch of serious people. >the moderation was surprisingly good >jannies aren't paid Why, the mod is paid here? Internet moderation is something you do for free at least until it doesn't turn profitable. But the administration doesn't do shit even less maintain a code that will expose people at security issues. their bad moderation is what caused the community to be toxic, if it was me i would add IDs to the least on a board full of samefaggers.

>>29931 > I think the moderation team was surprisingly good for what it was The moderation was dogshit. Corrupt dogshit. Don't try to bullshit me or anyone else that /sthg/ or any of the slow boards needed a large staff to moderate. Fuck right off with that shit. >janitors aren't paid Yeah well don't fucking volunteer. They weren't drafted so fuck right off with that noise too.

Sorry for the spergy question but i am really curious , has anyone else had the displeasure of talking to a sonic "fan" before? With the recent popularity spikes due to the success of the movies worldwide and current social media pushing it , more and more people have started getting into sonic and that's honestly really nice . I remember years ago where i live nobody knew what the fuck a sonic was and yet here we are in the big 2025 i can't go outside without seeing at least 20 kids wearing a sonic shirt or going into a store and seeing a bottle of sugary piss with movie sonics face plastered on it or some crap, truly living da life. But that aside, i ended up meeting this chick a self proclaimed true and honest™ sonic fan , but every time i'd try to make some conversation about one of the games/characters/lore whatever the hell i'd be met with the amazing response of "yeah i like it " followed by her constantly shoving her phone in my face to show me sonic shitposts. Honestly this isn't even a sonic issue at this point i feel like people have become more shallow nowadays which saddens me , maybe I'm too autistic for my own good but this type of shallowness towards the things you claim you oh so love really bleeds into everything else about you as an individual . >r/amithebadguy /fast/
New Thread. >>29934 >>29934 >>29934
They allowed daily reoccuring waifu threads on /v/, and sometimes there were husbando threads. They'd sometimes get derailed by obese furry fetishists, but they were fun. One day a husbando thread on /v/ was deleted immediately after it hit 500 replies (bump limit). Someone made a new thread. People then noticed anything with the word "husbando" in the OP on /v/ was autosaged, meaning it couldn't be bumped and would eventually die. So I made a thread said "post your vidya huzband". I was hit with a permaban. Mod was so pissed off at gay furries he censored a word and perma'd for a harmless SFW on-topic thread.
>>29943 >Why, the mod is paid here? No, because 4chan is much larger, and... >at least until it doesn't turn profitable ...they at the very least wanted it to be profitable (see the whole 4channel thing, and 4chan passes)
(546.27 KB 1000x1414 otp.png)

>>29927 You compiling it in a gdrive or mega?
>>29948 I understand it was larger, pehaps being big is part of the problem since it's treated like a public bathroom where every retard comes and shits. 4chan being profitable pr not is also a mistery, hiro is already rich and barely cares about it.
And to be honest, giving your money and personal info for a pass after discovering the site is full of security issues only makes people retarded for giving them money and personal info.
>>29941 the tldr version is that sonic doesn't deal with daily human conflicts like starvation or bills or relationships because he's the fucking wind. He is above this.

>>29947 >Mod was so pissed off at gay furries he censored a word and perma'd for a harmless SFW on-topic thread. Were threads on /v/ involving "furry" games still getting moved to /trash/ by the time 4chan collapsed?
>>29945 I don't like talking to Sonic fans on most social media websites because they're largely the type to think that Sonic's personality is the same as it was in satam or the movies or something. I don't have anything against those people, in fact I really enjoy both of those, but it can be bothersome how adamant. If you say you don't like how Sonic keeps dropping annoying references, people will say "Sonic is SUPPOSED to be annoying" or something like that.
>>29949 Probably mega or something after I'm done. It's a lot.
test
>>29613 I was looking through the thread to see what posts I missed, I forgot I posted this while I was asleep
>>29944 Also I was blaming the higher administration positions, not the janitors themselves, I meant they should have used their money to hire a proper, paid moderation team instead of relying on lazy volunteers. But yeah I'm done with this, that's already way more defense than I should have given them
>>29822 I know nothing about Archie but this is a nice appreciation post and I like seeing this type of effort
>>29929 True
>>29947 Yeah okay I just read this now, I'm sorry for defending them lol, fuck the mods
>>29945 Most people are just casual fans of things
