Sometimes I wonder if I'm missing out by not reading IDW. Everyone says they suck and maybe it's true but I tend to have unusual opinions that don't match the fanbase's consensus. Even then though when I tried reading IDW years ago I stopped at the first arc and I thought it was just uninteresting. At the time the reason I wanted to read it was because it was "canon" and because I was curious to see how they expanded on Forces. But I quickly lost interest. Since then I've only been reading random pages whenever you guys post them, like I did with the new issue. After I stopped reading they introduced some characters that I find cool in concept and design (mainly Surge and Kit) so if I were to put in a serious effort in reading the comic again it would be for them, and because the art looks nice I guess

Still I guess they could become friends eventually, idk the details of the story but people are always crying about villains getting redeemed and such so it should be a possibility. Yes I know he's still sort of a villain at the moment I thought Starline was cool as a villain and could have been kept as a recurring non-Eggman villain. I also thought Whisper was cool conceptually but her design is kinda weird (at least her face) and what I heard/saw of her story doesn't sound very exciting. Unless it's some big story arc that ends in Surge's personality breaking. But even then I think that would ruin her character for me. I like her better as the bad girl. I kinda like the idea that they wouldn't actually hate Sonic and friends if it weren't for the mind control. But Starline's death kinda ruined that for me too, as I assumed his presence kinda enforced that. Being haunted by his ghost is not the same.

>>36045 As I've said before, I don't really read the Sonic comics let alone IDW that much at all, I'm more aware of Archie's and some other stuff but that's pretty much it. I will say though that while I'm not the biggest fan of Ian Flynn's writing and some others as of late I do kind of appreciate the artwork and some decent moments here n there mostly with the Classic Era comics than the modern ones. Like the characters are more or less a hit or miss, and they're trying to make Surge this Vegeta-esque tomboy rival for Sonic while Kit remains the dude under her shadow but wanting to prove himself type of guy. I think Kit has potential to be much more than just a Tails anti-ego counterpart if he can break through the mold, I genuinely want him to stand out rather than just be seen as just Surge's sidekick. Correct me if I'm wrong but if Tails was able to have his moments in the IDW comics and other media, I hope Kit get his. The lad got more potential, but that's probably wishful thinking. Whisper is alright, and Tangle is cute I'll give em that.

On the topic of minor changes. I hope we get outfit customization more often. I use mods for this, but it'd be nice to just have options in game.

Before its proper release it was a paid game for some reason. Of all the fighting games I've played, god damn dude it's straightforward and awkward at the same time but I kinda like it. I've played the story mode before after a bunch of arcade runs and I've winded up being so fond of Emerl. My favorite parts were when Amy practiced being a good parent with Emerl, Rogue's and Knuckles' story, and Emerl growing from having a mentality of a curious child to a person with flair since he copied from others. Ultimate Emerl is busted as fuck too.

Gonna stay here for a while since the one who shall not be named is having a catastrophic meltdown Anyways hi /fast/! I've decided to read the IDW comics again just for Kit. That's it. I've reached issue 16 before taking a break. I've read them in the past but I stopped in 2023 because I got bored. I'm not a fan of the Neo Metal arc and the comic's writing and characterization in general. I'm just waiting until we get the part with Kit lol. Apparently he's getting more spotlight in recent issues which is great

The bigger the cost the more points they used with Ultimate Emerl skills taking up the most slots for how OP they are. The gameplay is admittingly sluggish with certain characters, with Chao being the slowest and Powerless Emerl being the lowest and I deadass mean THE LOWEST tier of all characters for how unironically shit he is.To be fair he had one shard and it makes sense for how he started from the very bottom but, he's really rough to play with. Gameplay wise, basically you have an air attack, you can knock people away after your third attack but I think u can knock anyway and follow it up with a downward attack which is like a meteor spike in Super Smash Bros.

However they decided to dial it down by removing the blood, a lot of swearing and that scene of Maria getting shot. Sonic Adventure does a better job than Frontiers at presenting a large interconnected world, despite (or perhaps in some ways thanks to) all the areas being smaller than a single island. All the stages are connected to the hub worlds as well which also helps. Emerald Coast isn't just a random beach, it's a beach in Station Square

The Rumble developers seem to like Colors for some reason. I think it's pretty weak compared to his other works, but when I see him talk about it he seems excited and proud of his work. I was also surprised when I saw people compare Silvaze to Shadria. The two stories are very different, but there are some similarities between the two. Maria wasn't much of a character in SA2, so I guess in a way Silvaze had more going on in its debut since Blaze shows more personality than her

I wonder if something similar is happening with Rune Factory now. Story writing isn't his primary field, but is what he's passionate about As for the rest of your post, I think SA2 is Shadow at his best, however you can't keep that Shadow around post SA2 because of how tied it is to the narrative of that game, and I like later interpretations as well. Also this game had the good Super Sonic, the one where he actually looked different than regular Sonic which made him special. Always was weird he was the last unlock. Sonic is two different characters. It would be less weird if there wasn't only 8 characters, that's like Mario Party 1, but instead of Donkey Kong, the 8th character is "Giant Mario"

Like many things, I think it comes back to Sonic games generally not being liked as much. Popular speedrun games like Mario 64 or Ocarina of Time have like a million different categories with different glitches allowed or banned.

Playing SA2 again and I think Treasure hunting stages are greatly overhated. The goal is to get emerald pieces as fast as possible, but they spawn in random sets, so you have to use hint monitors, but they take away score, score loss that you can make up for by destroying enemies, or just getting the piece fast enough the score tax won't matter. These stages genuinely reward quick play, and my enjoyment for them has only increased from each playthough. Every time I see anyone else play SA2 TH stages they just climb up high and glide in big circles for thirteen minutes in pumpkin hill, they actively avoid hint monitors because of the score decrease they give even when they're already guaranteed an E rank they'd rather pointlessly spend more time in the stage, a vast majority of the time the people who complain about TH they're actively not engaging with the game. I'd say SA2 radar is better than SA1, but story mode should have given you the SA1 Radar and SA2 Radar for the hard mode version, just to better ease players in. I played SA2 with both Radars and I find SA1 makes to easy, it feels like having training wheels on, the hints are straight up not needed with SA1 Radar. Plus collecting a piece out of order feel very rewarding.

This is as true in SA2 as it is in Unleashed and Sonic 1. The games slow you down, but they're designed for you to find ways to go fast.
