And here we go again
Well, I look forward to the cutscenes.

https://youtu.be/Af3Q2ECNh1U >>598 Well I was more thinking about the CGI stuff, as well as those text cutscenes
>>596 Was this game any good
(802.80 KB 1471x828 IMG_9028.jpeg)

>>28646 The gameplay doesn't look particularly interesting from the footage I've seen, but it has good quality cutscenes and a cute low poly Sticks, so that might be enough to make it worth playing.
>>28646 I played it and it was painfully mediocre. It doesn't really expand on its mechanics. It just repeats them ad nauseam.
>>28649 Damn, low poly sticks is actually better than high poly sticks I wish sticks would show up again She was the only female character in sonic that wasn't waifu bait (except for me)
I heard this game is actually good
>>31665 It’s slightly better than the first.
>>31665 It's the best Boom Game, but that doesn't really mean much. If it had been a mainline Sonic game it would've been hated for its slow and automated gameplay.
Wasn't Fire and Ice the first game Miller and Casey Played when they got assigned to write for the Sonic Movie? I wonder if you can see its influence at all in the Movies.
>>35352 Would that influence be good or bad?
>>35356 Could be either, I haven't played Fire and Ice so I wouldn't know what to look for.
>>35352 That would be funny
>>35356 >Mushroom Hill is randomly mentioned in Fire and Ice >Mushroom Hill is in Sonic 1's postcredits scene >Movienic acts antithetical to what Gamenic would do when he begs Tom to not go to San Francisco >This wouldn't be out of character for Boomnic who's more of a homebody, though it is a bit childish Those are the two main examples that come to mind, I'm sure there's more subtle stuff that I'd have noticed if I were more familiar with Fire and Ice.
>>37638 >Mushroom Hill is randomly mentioned in Fire and Ice Can you show us? I know nothing about that game
(216.37 KB 828x812 IMG_9559.jpeg)

>>37655 https://youtu.be/DKU1dawXCxg It's at around 8:24 in the video. I don't think any other locations from the mainline games were ever even mentioned in Boom which makes it extra weird.
>>37658 So weird. I think they mentioned Angel Island once in the cartoon, but it might have been a meta reference joke
>>37660 >I think they mentioned Angel Island once in the cartoon Do you remember which episode it was in by chance? I remember them making a joke about the Master Emerald, but nothing about Angel Island.
>>38424 >Boom Knuckles is originally from Angel Island >Boom Angel Island contains the same places as the game version, such as Mushroom Hill >Sonic has been to Boom Angel Island (as evidenced by Fire and Ice) All of this implies that events similar to those of S3K happened in Boom at some point. I wonder how they differed from the game version. Also: >Tails reprograms one of Eggman's robots and accidentally turns it into a killing machine determined to destroy Eggman. So Cowbot is the closest thing Boom had to Omega.
>>38428 I could be forgetting things, but couldn't Boom just take place after all the previous Sonic games? Designs might be slightly different, but there doesn't seem to be anything in the story that would preclude all previous games from happening.
>>38499 I had always assumed Boom was it's own continuity, but that could've easily been a retcon and Boom may have been meant as an older Sonic when the subfranchise debuted.
>>38527 No, it's always been its own continuity, but it's a continuity where plenty of adventures happened in the past. It seems like those past adventures could just be all the past games, because they fit well enough. The way I always saw it (though without thinking about it much) was that Boom wouldn't be canon to the "main" series, but the backstory for Boom still seemed to be all the main series games that came out before it.
>>38587 Maybe you're right, I never even considered it. I always just thought of it as its own thing entirely
>>38587 That makes me wonder, are there any incidents in Boom that contradict the events of the mainline games or were they careful enough to avoid those?
>>39262 I don't know, but you just made me think of this. They weren't allowed to reference Shadow's backstory, but they also couldn't contradict it
is there a good sonic game on the gba and if so which is the best??
>>41732 The whole Sonic Advance trilogy is good. 2 is generally considered the weakest and I personally consider 3 to be the best. Some people like 1 better, but I consider it just a bit too slow.
>>41733 Speaking of Advance 3, I've heard people say that Fire and Ice has similar (but worse) level design to Advance 3.
