Will someone please explain timelines to me and how they work? I believe in astral planes and I’ve just been subconsciously ignoring the posters on fringe when they mention timelines but I figure maybe it is real I just don’t know anything about it.

Because you gave your body a command that instead resting it should eject your soul/astral body so you can face the horrors of the astral plane. Migraines and intestinal pains also happen when you start powering up your energy body for the first time, but if you weren't able to get rid of the residual negative energy then the subtle body is trying to "digest it" which usually results in symptoms like this. Physical activity makes your energy move around and nature has better energies which should help calming down your spirit. Try to find activities where you feel "present" instead dragging your body around like it's a zombie. When you focus on something which involves moving your entire body the astral body syncs back into the physical body better. And don't worry about the wings. I too had them in my neophyte years so did have multiple people who regularly astral projected. It's usually sign that your middle dantian is being energetically stimulated. It's normal.

What you need to know that you have an energy body which operates beyond the physical. Every metaphysical study and tradition sees it differently and it's quite easy to get lost in the details, but it becomes obvious once your energetic sight opens and you can see it. Humans have an energy field aka aura. The aura has "Layers" depending which energies of yours are dominant. The auric field of a mundane person wildly differs from a spiritual person's aura. The auric field changes depending on your mood and practice also. See pic related to get the gist of it. In your case what is currently "happening" is that you are trying to "expand" your "Astral Body" which is according to this image is layer 4. Don't take this image too seriously, but look at it to get a basic idea how your energy field could look like. Every person has all their auric layer active by default, but their activity and how dominant is their energy changes as they get older and develop spiritually further. The color and appearance of your auric field depends which dominant energies you are trying to use. In the beginning your astral body rests in your physical body because you wish to live on the physical plane since your physical birth.
