Uncommon Time Winter Stream

Interboard /christmas/ Event has Begun!
Come celebrate Christmas with us here

8chan.moe is a hobby project with no affiliation whatsoever to the administration of any other "8chan" site, past or present.

WELCOME TO I-C-U-P Anonymous 05/04/2020 (Mon) 23:08:07 No. 1
STREAM AT https://cytu.be/r/8cup MATCH SCHEDULE ON >>1233 AND >>1234 This board is a the new home to the /icup/ and /8cc/ boards over 8kun.top. Our objective at /icup/ is to provide sports oriented competitions for all boards of the Webring (as well as any other IB who's willing to pitch in) of various sports. Our most well known tournament is of course the 8chan Cup or Inter-Board Cup, hosted...sometimes by our tireless rigger SKF. For more information about the 8chan Cup/Inter-board Cup and all teams competing in it you can visit http://infinitycup.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page The new wiki can (slowly) be found at: https://infinitycup.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page [Account required to edit] RULES 1. Global rules apply (don't post illegal stuff) 2. Threads should be about creating new teams for the upcoming Inter-board Cups, as well as discussing new formats (Racing Wars, Handegg, Majoritycrimerateball, Wrestling in collab with 8chanmania) and suggesting new tools to mod and host better tournaments 3. Organizing sponsored and friendly matches among teams; 4. Organizing your own board's team and roster. Match replays: https://pt.neko.bar/video-channels/icuparchive/video-playlists
Good to have you here.
>>8 The feeling is more than mutual, friend. Got a team you want to make? Please, be sure to create its own thread!
What are all the requirements for a new board to enter?
>>151 Back on 8chan there was a certain limit due to the number of boards, but in this one we'll allow any board that is either on the webring or on a friendly site. By that I mean any site that isn't part of the ACF or that hasn't tried to raid us (think dolphinfag). So, even if it's an entirely different imageboard, as long as they can provide their own materials (in the case of PES, its minimum requirements are a logo, at least one compatible kit according to picture related and a roster of a minimum of 16 character names) they're eligible for the tournament.
How do invites for boards work?
>>183 Well, it's mostly a first-come-first-serve kind of deal - whoever makes the team with the most work put behind them (as in, they go beyond just making kits, from custom models to tons of support and wiki edits etc.) is already eligible for participation. Even if the slots are fully occupied, the tournament is very flexible and there can be extended groups or side events for those who don't make the cut.
>>184 So if we want to see if a certain board will play, we can just go invite them as we please, then?
>>190 I don't see why not. What did you have in mind?
>>194 Sportschan /sp/ and /librejp/ and /cuckquean/ from this site
>>212 >/cuckquean/ I think they were already invited and responded positively but said they lack expertise.
>>212 Sure, I love the /librejp/ guys.
That was during the last icup. But I do think I remember them making a team logo at least.
>>218 Meant to respond to >>214

HOLY FUCK I AM SO LOST Okay, so I want to get my team's kit together. I see multiple templates for kit. Which one is the one I use? I think the minimum we need is a team badge and home kit + away kit + goalie kit, right? I see people making bumpers and ads for spaces? What are these for and when do they get played? What's the maximum we can do for max aesthetics? This is our first time but the wiki's geared towards those who already know.
(195.04 KB 2048x2048 ClipboardImage.png)

>>348 >Which one is the one I use? This here is the one. What board are you from anon?
Any reason this board is marked NSFW?
(I am not staff, team rep just like you) >>348 The wiki is very much geared towards those already familiar. Especially for those making DLC, might as well just redirect to the implyingrigged wiki instead of saying 'just learn blender' (I already know blender, not PES). The closest to a newbie guide is the Rules article. >I think the minimum we need is a team badge and home kit + away kit + goalie kit, right? Yes. >I see people making bumpers and ads for spaces? What are these for and when do they get played? Some can be placed on billboard ad spaces in stadiums. Look at 4chan cup (4CC) gameplay or better yet, install PES 2017 (instructions on wiki) with the 2019 summer cup DLC and save file, and look at the stadiums. Some other material is just general hype material. >What's the maximum we can do for max aesthetics? The maximum? 3D model new players or their faces using Blender. This is rare but present (only about 20-30 out of thousands of players, mostly from a few select teams) and potent. Far more popular in the 4CC where they have more resources and history. If you have the guts and time, look at the Blender Tutorial article in link below, with APC and FPC as extra references. Resources for PES 2017 aesthetics: https://implyingrigged.info/wiki/Pro_Evolution_Soccer_2017 (see right hand sidebar) HOWEVER, some small details there are specific to the 4CC, not infinitycup. Things like their autocompiler all that. Ask for advice here and hopefully we see it. I wouldn't start with 3D modeling because there are many smaller easier things that will help just as much. - Logo (required) - Home/Away/GK (required) - Anthem, Victory anthem, Goal horns to play when your team or a certain player scores - Wiki page for your board - Player portraits (icons used for them in formation change menu) - Billboards (idk details, probably just needs to have the right aspect ratio) - Stadium model (probably requires serious work, I haven't tried yet)
>>348 If you're still having trouble with the kit, there's a couple of kit makers online as well. As for the bumpers and ads, that's not a requirement, but it is good to do. Anything to build up the culture around the Cup and create board OC is fine by me. As for the writing of the wiki, that is my bad. Anything regarding Blender, I haven't been able to write about due to my lack of knowledge on it, sort of an inverse problem to >>352. The one guy who worked on the custom models last Cup looked at the 4CC shit to figure out how to import models in. Our system to remove parts of/whole players is basically theirs, it's not been altered, so it's applicable. And just because you brought up stadiums, they are edited with blender as well, as are the game balls.
>>353 >The one guy who worked on the custom models last Cup looked at the 4CC shit to figure out how to import models in. /eris/friend here, I did the same. I think the best way to approach the 3D modding page (and I'm happy to do this) is to point to implyingrigged's PES 2017 and 2016 articles and explain the few little differences between our cup and theirs. They did a good job and re-inventing the wheel is useless here.
>>351 Beats me, I could ask the Admins to change us to SFW but is it really an issue?
>>348 The templates may look different but they're really all the same, just use >>350 if you're too lost. I guess the problem stems from the fact that PES prior to like 2015 used a much different template.
What happened to the wiki???
>>383 All the pages are blank
>>384 Shoutwiki in general is down
>>385 weird, 8chanmania still seems to be up but infinity is down despite both bring under shoutwiki
>>386 >On Thursday, approximately 10AM UTC, we'll be performing our MediaWiki 1.34 deployment. Please expect some downtime, we apologise in advance for any inconvenience! Here's what's going on
>>387 So this is absolutely weird Apparently the wiki has been edited on the morning of the 29th of May, but all pages return a blank and there's no version history. Furthermore, I can't edit or create pages (waybackmachine has most of the wiki backed up) and I can't for the life of me find the contact list for shoutwiki's help desk. Anyone want to crack this case?
>>392 I found this email support@shoutwiki.com when looking around, hopefully they'll respond to you as that's a lot of lore lost
>>393 I already did, they assured me they would look into it and server migration is causing hiccups.
>>397 Seems to be back now
To what extent can custom models be used? Like can you only slightly change the base player (e.g. colour of skin) or could you introduce a completely new model to replace it? Also how far can you change stadiums?
>>400 This clip from the previous 4chan Cup should clarify what is possible. https://bootleg.hamuko.moe/video/spring-2020/2020-05-02/1/ (start at 15:34) There are tutorials for full player customization (FPC) on implyinrigged wiki, if they have similar dimensions to the default player then it will be much easier/better. I haven't tried a stadium but they have documentation pages for them too.

Quick update. Been tweaking a few things in-game, still trying to see if we can make more edits to things we couldn't last Cup. I fixed a problem I was having with the game balls, so that's gonna make things easier for me moving forward (The models are also really simple and can be changed easily for decent hilarity, so give it a shot if you want). We're at 14 teams who have currently accepted the invitation to join the Cup. Some don't have threads up on the board yet, but I've spoken to anons who were shouldering responsibilities previously and they're fine with moving ahead. In addition, there's about 7 other teams where the invite has been put forward, but things still are up in the air. The numbers are less than ideal, as workable tournaments come out of 16, 24, or 32 teams, but there's still plenty of time for that to change. I'm officially ruling out July as a start time for the Cup, so we're going to be kicking things off come August and the length of time the Cup will run is dependent on the number of teams we get. >>400 You can completely remove players and replace them with new models. We've currently already done that with a few players like Miku and Aniki. Stadiums can be changed in the same way, we just haven't figured things out yet.
>>405 >so we're going to be kicking things off come August Good, I just hit a demotivation patch and got part-time work >16, 24, or 32 teams Worst case, we can quickly make a few extra teams to round up. What's with those 7 teams? Are they doubtful/half-hearted like /fa/ or is it something else? If they really aren't motivated, we can push two in and get a perfect 16 team tourney
>>406 It's a combination of ones that gave a lukewarm response to the invite, ones that have expressed interest but I have literally no idea where they are, and one or two who basically said "We'll let the board decide" and then said nothing after that. I'm not giving up on any of them just yet, but I'd rest a little easier if they did step forward with a decision sooner rather than later.
I mean we could just make the teams for them if they're boards like /v/ and /tv/
>>401 >>405 Thanks, that really helped. >>406 >>407 Don't know about other boards but /lego/ isn't that populated so we've taken some time to get things ready. We're almost there; just need to finalise a roster and I'll have a look online if there are any models I can find.
>>405 Could we get a list of teams we've invited and teams that have accepted? Maybe we need to try our luck on Sportschan or Floridachan aswell, or some of the french boards.
>>416 This is by no means official and definitive, but in no particular order: /otter/ /ita/ /a/ /animu/ /monster/ /test/ /eris/ /2hu/ /mecha/ /ausneets/ /k/ /bmn/ /wooo/ /latecomfy/ and then the "maybe"s /christian/ /kind/ /tg/ /yuri/ /co/ /cyber/ /bane/ And this does not count /art/ and /v/ which are currently active threads, as they're kind of just dipping their toe in the water to see about things.
>>430 It's sad that /kind/ doesn't seem interested in joining again, I'd have liked to see them defend their title.
>>432 they are currently a very small board, it may take some prodding, but there's not many people to convince. Plus they, like other potentially returning boards, can technically just say "use everything from last time" and be set. And if you're /kind/ why wouldn't you? You fucking won.
>>430 /sp/ has some decent progress on their team as well though it's hard figuring out how that board is sometimes
>>430 also /bane/ has a full team made with kits and all
>>416 /sp/ and /lego/ have accepted the invitation but were still talking about it /cuckquean/ wants in but they're too few and don't know how to handle it
>>437 I really hope /monster/ and /lego/ go up against each other.
>>430 /librejp/ is a maybe too, but they probably need their thread bumped
>>440 If you can speak even a little of Jap, please explain it to them in a way they can understand.
>>405 >>430 Just based on these participants, the cup is gonna be amazing. Doesn't really matter it's only 16 tbh.
>>430 If we manage to get less than an even number of teams or if we just stop at 16, I'd vouch for /tg/ and /kind/
>>430 Hasn't /fascist/ said they wanted in too? I'd love to see them up against /eris/.
>>448 I can defiantly help with /tg/ if there is a need for them
>>437 /lego/ looks enthusiastic enough, they've even made some nice uniforms and a crest.
>>447 This. Maybe even better with 16, since there are less filler teams who don't care.

>>416 >Floridachan didn't they died? >french boards looking forward to /fra/ vs /ita/ showdown.
>>410 >looking for models 4chan's /toy/ has a ORANGE TRANSPARENT CHAINSAW model and one or two others. I did not expect to find judy hopps on /toy/ of all boards https://implyingrigged.info/wiki//toy/_Roster if they were on the team at any time during the seasons they ran PES2017, you/someone could more-or-less just pull the character and repackage it for your team.
>>463 >looking forward to /fra/ vs /ita/ >posts /islam/ vs /ita/
>>461 If we have weird numbers of teams we can always eschew group stages and have fighting game styled double elimination brackets.
>>430 What about /y2k///retro/? They were in last time too.
>>469 If they want to be in, i'm all for it.
>>466 That doesn't sound as fun, because then half the teams only get one game. I'd rather add a few extra teams to round up. >>465 That makes zero sense, but it is actually /ita/ vs /ita/.
(514.98 KB 799x648 ClipboardImage.png)

>>439 Would be a good match. There used to be an anon who made Lego monster girls, I wonder which team he would side with. >>461 Thanks anon. Turns out all those hours I spent in paint really paid off. >>464 Will look into making it a more generic Lego man so it could do as the basic model. If not we have the same player on our team anyways so we could 'borrow' it.
(207.93 KB 2048x2048 tgconcept.png)

>>458 If you're gonna petition /tg/ go for it. You can also throw this in as part of your pitch. I had an idea for a d20 uniform design for them so I slapped it together for fun. Put /tg/'s logo on there and I think you've got a winner.
(575.25 KB 1600x900 teaser.jpg)

As we continue to progress and more teams enter themselves into the Cup, I'm putting the cutoff date for entries on July 3rd. Required for a valid entry is the following >Logo >Roster (Names and medals. Medals may be changed later as you develop your team strategy) >Kits (3 minimum, 1 home, 1 away, 1 GK) I'd also like the name of a Home Ground (stadium) if you haven't given one already. We are still working on figuring out Stadium Editing, but we can at least clear room for it in game and at worst re-color KONAMI Stadium for you.
>>551 For all teams that failed to submit medals, can we just have medals thrown at random (except Captains, which should be gold anyhow)?
>>567 Nah, you can submit them for the secondary deadline and its fine. Medals are a key piece of the team strategy so I'm flexible on that front.
>>576 Then what about the player cards and roles? Are we still doing those or are we just simplifying it with medals only?
>>430 Updating this list: /2hu/ /a/ /animu/ /ausneets/ /bane/ /bmn/ /christian/ /co/ /cyber/ /eris/ /fascist/ /ita/ /k/ /kind/ /lang/ /latecomfy/ /lego/ /mecha/ /mecha/ /monster/ /otter/ /sp/ /test/ /tg/ /toy/ /wooo/ /yuri/ /zchan-v/ These are all the boards that, more or less, answered the call and provided the bare minimum of the required items. Am I missing anyone else?
>>588 Errata Corrige /2hu/ /a/ /animu/ /ausneets/ /bane/ /bmn/ /christian/ /co/ /cyber/ /eris/ /fascist/ /ita/ /k/ /kind/ /lang/ /latecomfy/ /lego/ /loomis/ /mecha/ /monster/ /otter/ /sp/ /test/ /tg/ /toy/ /wooo/ /yuri/ /zchan-v/ Which gives us a total of 28 teams currently available to play. We need at least another 4 for a proper tournament. Hypothetically, if we don't get enough boards in, we can use the extra boards: >/todd/ >/genesis/ >/just/ >/b/ Though in the case of /b/ I'd rather see if some website's /b/ wanted to join as a team rather than using the outdated team.
>>597 Apparently /cuckquean/ is halfway through, I'll count them in if they give me the okay.
>>597 You forgot /japan/ seems to be in: >>525
>>599 Ah, shoot, you're right. This means there's about 3 spots available before we can wrap up at 32. Obviously even with more people we could find some solution, but I don't foresee many more teams joining.
(70.46 KB 1000x1000 ClipboardImage.png)

>>1 Somebody suggested we gave you a heads up that we're interested, so just letting you know PLW /toy/ is slowly getting there. There's only 2 of us working on it so if we don't get it done in time we'll wait till the next cup, but hopefully we get everything sorted before then.
>>608 Thanks buddy
>>597 >>588 Just when I think I have everything caught up these posts happen. Alright just some commentary on specific teams on the list: >/2hu/ Possibly involved in a Voltron super-team with /japan/ and /bane/ I wanna see how that plays out. >/bane/ See /2hu/ >/co/ I don't know where their board is still, and last I heard they were still a little cold to the idea >/cyber/ Haven't heard from the anon who started that thread since. Not a big deal since they do have everything they need for now though. >/fascist/ Still need to put together kits >/k/ Still need two more kits from them >/japan/ See /2hu/ >/kind/ Currently in board limbo, as their spot was taken down by the admin. Stuck in their bunker but they do have everything needed. (Note I do not want to run this without the defending champs, so I really hope things get stable on their end) >/loomis/ Need their kits >/tg/ The one anon in this thread said he'd be willing to run /tg/ but the board was lukewarm. Feels like a situation where someone just needs to up and do it. >/v/ Currently figuring out their board clusterfuck. I'm fine with them just running as /v/ but there's a ton of moving parts. >/yuri/ Again I think they're good, the board response just wasn't as enthusiastic. The anons who were in charge previously are quite busy I've heard. I checked out /cuckquean/ and they're progressing well, so they should be ready by the first deadline. There's also /sw/ who has their team from previous and they're becoming active again, so I'll see what they're up to.
>>612 >/kind/ Hello, I'm the old and new BO of /kind/. We don't have many people on our board, but I would still like to participate. Can we just use our old kit? Honestly, I think it would be unlucky to change anything about it after a win.
>>614 Of course! Glad to have you on board.
>>614 Where exactly are you guys at? Still on julay? Anyhow, talking about the dormant teams: >/argentina/ There are several places where argies are hanging out. It's either their own imageboards, or some places over 8kun/9chan. >/b/ Obviously there's no individual /b/, but several of them all over the place. We could just single out one of them, but they'll probably want to create their own team. >/baphomet/ No idea where they're at or if they're even going to care, not touching this. >/ck/ /oven/ could supply a team for them, other than that don't know where they're at. >/cow/ I don't see them joining any time soon, they responded half heartedly to the thread and I suppose they'll be a burden more than a help. >/cuteboys/ No idea where they are. >/fit/ Very small and on Julay, but we could give it a go. >/furry/ I remember them being on Julay, can't see any furry activity though and don't know where they went. >/gamergate/ boards Some people at 8moe asked to have GG as a separate team from /v/ proper. While this is unconventional, since they do not have their own board, we could still seek their aid to make another team.
>>617 >>>/kind/ is here on cafe
>>597 It seems /librejp/ might finally be starting to prepare something. https://sportschan.org/librejp/res/26538.html
>>617 We're pretty close to 32 teams, so it might be best to hold off and let the boards currently working just play things out organically.
(117.54 KB 1820x420 webring b.png)

(47.18 KB 1294x188 8moe b.png)

(37.19 KB 1874x194 9chan b.png)

>>617 >/b/ Without counting 9chan's /b/ (which probably nobody wants here) it seems that the most active iteration that board is Zchan's /b/. You could ask them first.
(730.37 KB 850x638 smugger.png)

>>624 technically (and only technically) speaking, Erischan was invited on their /b/ board, never /eris/.
>>624 I'm feeling like not inviting any /b/ right now, /b/ is meant to represent the spirit of its host board and currently I wouldn't know which one to pick. /eris/ was invited from their /b/ because it was their most active board, same with the Frenchies
>>617 I mean /gamergate/ has been it's own team without a proper board before but honestly if we're having a gamergate team I'd much rather the return of /dose/
Reminder: /librejp/ has completed their basic requirements
>>638 Make sure someone makes a thread here
>>551 By unanimous decision (1 voted for, 0 voted against) /eris/ is naming its stadium 'None'.
>>597 Not sure what part of /tg/ ignoring you thought you should run us. Sounds like you have lots of people, think we're sitting this one out.
>>653 Make up your mind, guys. Some told me /tg/ wanted in, some told me they didn't.
>>655 Well sure don't see anyone else here. That will be a big fat , out. Thanks.
(49.98 KB 550x850 the new infinity cup.png)

There is one week left to submit your board's entry to the Infinity Cup! The teams that are currently entered are as follows: /2hu/ /a/ /animu/ /art/ /ausneets/ /bane/ /bmn/ /christian/ /cuckquean/ /eris/ /fascist/ /ita/ /japan/ /kind/ /lang/ /latecomfy/ /lego/ /librejp/ /loomis/ /mecha/ /monster/ /otter/ /sp/ /sw/ /test/ /v/ /wooo/ /yuri/ Other teams that still need to complete their entries (and what they need to complete the entries) are as follows: /k/ (Two more kits and their medal players) /toy/ (Roster, One more kit) If you don't see your board name here it means I had no idea you were working on an entry. Post in this thread ASAP
>>682 Are all the teams at the bottom getting kicked from the cup if they don't have the rest of their entry stuff finished in a week?
>>683 Not necessarily. We've had teams fail to submit required pieces before the final deadline, so other teams who had kept working and were waiting in the wings got in instead. There's also the issue of numbers not being nice and even so we'll see how it all stacks up.
I made a couple of quick amendments in >>>/comfy/ which I believe will allow us to qualify. They are of course subject to change.
What's the policy on helping multiple teams? I'm the rep for my homeboard and made our roster and strategy, is it still alright for me to help other boards develop their teams?
>>686 Which two teams? Is this the /japan/-/bane/ situation?
>>687 Nah, I'm rep for /eris/ and occasionally browse a few of the boards on that list that don't really know what they're doing.
>>686 The more you can help and contribute, the better. Not every board has someone who knows/cares enough to make stuff for their team.
>>716 If you feel like lending a hand, go ahead and reach out, just make sure you let them know that you're a rep from another team. Basically what >>719 said
Hello, I’m new to this thing so could anyone give me a basic rundown on this competition?
>>733 Create a team full of players based on board culture for a tournament. Create a logo, uniforms, and strategies for your team to play virtual divegrass in PES 2017 against other boards and their teams. That's the quick and dirty explanation.
>>734 Interesting, I’ll see what I can do for a few boards
>>682 /loomis/ has just made a kit, a roster and a logo Cooking up the second one shouldn't be too hard
>>682 So it's 20 teams ready, plus /cuckquean/ and /sw/ totals 22. How many more do we need?
>>759 24 is a safe number. It's easily broken down and manageable, things would run like they did the last Cup. 32 is the next safe number after that though. Anything in-between will leave a certain number of boards in a sort of limbo.
>>761 Looks like /co/, /ita/ and /loomis/ bring us past 24.
>>785 I think it was mentioned already within the thread that /todd/ and /genesis/ can be used as backup teams if we need more. Also, we should wait for other places to join in too.
>>789 We could always use those two and wait for one of the teams mentioned beforehand to join as the 28th. We could have just 7 groups.
>>790 Either that, or remove some teams with literally no fan interest from their board.
>>823 like who?
>>836 I don't know yet and don't want to accuse without proof, although IIRC there were a few teams that had rosters and kits from last year but little-to-no enthusiasm. Like /kind/, but they are the host so it's different. It's may not be a good idea though because one real fan is enough to warrant a team imo.
Alright, so I'll be going around to the various boards that are participating and updating them with the schedule and what not. I've been a bit busy lately, so I can usually only check in on things at night, but hopefully things calm down as we get closer to kickoff, which is currently slated for August 7th. Edit for signature
>>852 Nice. Thank you!

Progress Update Every team has their kits in the game and working. Each one needs a few tweaks, mostly just to names/numbers on the back because you can't see how they line up until they're put onto the field. Here's a shot of /lego/'s and /cuckquean/'s. ALSO Stream Saturday. Mostly just a test to see how Bitwave behaves, as Cytube and Twitch currently do not have their collective shit together. The ad up in the event space on cafe now. I've gone around to other boards to advertise. Again, Saturday July 18, 2CDT 3EDT 19:00UTC on https://cytu.be/r/8cup
>>913 >Every team has their kits in the game and working. Those are looking great! Does /loomis/'s home kit look alright? I tested /cuckquean/s kit (props!) but didn't bother testing looms for some reason. >Stream Saturday. Will there be a test match or something?
>>915 >test match Friendlies would be fun.
>>915 >>921 We'll run a couple test matches, talk shit, have some fun.
>>915 Oh, and yes. All of /loomis/'s kits look good.
>>913 Just a heads up, the link to the stream you've used in all the messages leads to this: https://cytu.be/r/8cup. , which should be https://cytu.be/r/8cup . I'm sure everyone will realise this come the stream, but just thought I'd let you know.

>>937 God damn it

>/eris/ beats /japan/ [3 - 2] >/japan/ suddenly erupts in a chaotic shitfest and dies oh shit
>>1067 They may have lost but certainly have you beat in the chaos department. I don't think there's a more chaotic board out there right now.
>>1076 I'd say /cow/ is the most chaotic board right now. Other than 1 thread on /japan/ the rest of it is just easy posting and playing video games together. Most of the chaos is caused by outsiders. Those same outsiders are currently eating themselves on their home board right now.
Just a reminder you have less than a week to finish up tactics and player cards. If you are having any difficulties or are worried no one will step up, leave a post in your thread on /icup/. I have an anon on standby willing to put something together for teams who need help. If you're a team who has participated in a previous Cup and you have not explicitly let me know you're sticking with your strats from last time, do so ASAP, as it cuts down on the work I'll have to do in the week after the Draw Stream. If you've already done so, kick back, take it easy and wait for the draw stream. Draw Stream is August 1st, 2PM PDT, 4PM CDT, 5PM EDT, 21:00 UTC. Mark that calendar. As well, we're still accepting adboards for use during the tournament, visit the dedicated adboard thread on /icup/ and post them there.
>>1080 What can we expect to see in the draw stream?
>>1091 We'll be drawing teams from a hat (physical or virtual, I've yet to decide) to determine the Groups for the Cup. Last time we played a couple of friendlies afterwards, might do the same again, we'll see.

>>1652 You gotta be able to stream the game and to host a cup. So you gotta have a pc that can run PES and have the blessings of the rigging committee, which is super hard and it involves the arduous task of creating a thread and asking them. Also, you have to update the wiki with stats and record footage for safekeeping.

Updates from SKF: Round of 16 matches are up on NekoBar as of this post. Before the night is done, the links will be in the match summaries on the Cup 6 wiki page. I'm retiring my old "@ 8chan dot co" email in favor of the cock.li address. It's just been frustrating to use, I assume because "cock.li" trips fewer alarms on other email hosts compared to the other address. So contact me there if you can't get me via the board. All work towards the next Cup, as of now, is on pause. I'm still working on cleanup, Awards, and record-keeping from this Cup. Once all that is done, I will be taking a break from things. For the boards that are lobbying to enter for the next one, please do not let this dampen your enthusiasm. Keep working on your team's logos, players, OC etc. and keep your respective boards involved. I won't be gone for long, and I'll still be shitposting in my various haunts around the webring.
>>1680 Update to the update: NekoBar doesn't like my cut of the /2hu/ /yuri/ match, so I'll need to re-encode it. Moving on to the Quarterfinals in the meantime so you'll start to see those in the playlist as well.
Does anyone know why all these boards are suddenly entering? It's not a complaint, I just don't understand why there is suddenly a widespread spike in interest once it ended.
>>1684 Obviously they saw how much fun we were having and want in on it. Too bad they're all gonna have to wait a year now.
>>1685 >a year Not necessarily, AFAIK all you need is someone who gets the blessings of the head riggers and we could have an Infinity Cup a day for all we know. Also we got a lot more viewers than usual, at least for the initial phases of the cup. Of note is that we invited like six different imageboards, so people were inclined to check it out.
>>1684 Probably this >>1685 but also there were some teams that wanted to join but couldn't meet the first deadline.
>>1684 >Does anyone know why all these boards are suddenly entering? For /dup/ it seems there was a single guy trying to hype it up, the other ones not so sure. I'm happy to see some extra participation though. Could use a helping hand or two.
>>1687 It'd be nice if it could at least be a half-yearly rhythm, I feel like the hype engine doesn't like being parked for long periods. Maybe this cafe could even host its own little championship. If my computer were good enough...
>>1691 That being said, I wouldn't want to be demanding too much from the riggers. I mean, it's not like they get paid or anything.
>>1691 Well, if you look at the earlier cups, you'll notice that the biggest issue had to do with the site, not the board dwellers. Now that we no longer use a centralized system but are rather spread all around the web (and might I add, us at /icup/ HQ have our own bunkers as well), we are much more secure, so even if an entire imageboard dies, its users can just mosey on over the bunker's cup.
>>1691 >Maybe this cafe could even host its own little championship. If my computer were good enough... If the riggers wanted to wait a whole year, I was proposing a friendly match near Christmas. If my internet were good enough. (<1mbps upload)
I think the ideal would be to have a system like UEFA & Conmebol, the only leagues that matter. With an annual /icup/ as main and most important event, and a secondary friendly/lesser annual Cup with a separate history and stats. This one could be a test field for veteran teams, new teams, other riggers, other commentators, another trophy. There are not enough teams yet for us to need a classification system, but it could be useful for that too, in the future. The important thing is that 2 recognizable competitions per year sound like a realistic schedule, capable of maintaining the hype. With a 3-sides mini-tournament between both last teams and /reddit/, and a friendly between the 2 champions. Also plenty of test streams with random managers signing up their teams for friendlies. Having the distinction in importance means that the main board of the Cup only needs to manage one tournament per year, and provide random assistance like they always do anyways. It doesn't matter (so much) if the lesser tournament is a little fucked-up. >>1695 >1mbps up Yeah, you're gonna need more than that.
>>1697 That's a good idea actually. Maybe the lesser cup could just be all the teams that didn't make it to the knockouts in the main cup.
>>1697 I like this idea. The /icup/ is the main event but we could still have some fun, even if it's not categorized as Infinity Cup. One idea I had was to have Imageboard specific leagues, where IBs with enough boards/teams could play among themselves and those who don't have as many could play in a manner similar to what the USA and Canada do with their sports.
>>1698 I like this idea, as it gives more games to those who could have been screwed by luck.
I like the idea, but I wonder what would the streaming schedule be if the racing idea gets finally implemented (or any other game ideas related to the Cup)
The idea up there would leave a 3 months gap between the preparations for each tournament, even with setting a whole month aside for general deadlines (which I think is generous enough). I was planning on filling that gap with random friendly tournaments that everyone is suggesting, apart from the two main competitions (which have a difference between them, too). Since the schedule for those tests and friendlies has no need to be strict, I believe you could fit all the other sports tournaments in the gaps, don't you think?
>>1707 Yesss do itttt
>>1707 That's perfect then
(10.82 KB 168x200 sr.jpg)

>>1707 I think the side tournament should be different from the main one, in the way it plays out. It should not have the same kind of rounds and points, etc. Otherwise it's just the same thing. What I mean is that neither tournament should diminish the uniqueness of the other. Maybe the side tournament can be more experimental or even more rigged :)
>>1708 Well, the first thing to do would be to form the first edition of the alternative team of riggers & commentators as soon as possible (basically when the people who wanna do it figure out their general capabilities & bandwidth). That way they can decide if we should have the first lesser tournament this year or later, the rest of the schedules can be figured out then. >>1709 >perfect The reason it looks that way is because those leagues I mentioned have a shit ton of history, so they've already tested out all kinds of formats and schedules, and we know the results they had in different situations. At different points in history, and in different levels of growth, which is the most useful thing for us. That way, we have plenty of examples at how we should manage a lot of the things that may come up. >>1710 That would be up to the various riggers, having many of them we should be able to see some variety of things. I'm expecting a lot of experimenting at first, until we figure out the most fun formats, while the volunteers gain some experience and have their fair share of fuck-ups. Personally, I'd rather the two main competitions keep similar formats, with the lesser one having a bit more leeway, and all the other minicups being completely free and up to whatever the circumstantial organizers feel like. But what do I know. I'm just happy to see that there's a lot of people (including me) ready to throw ideas at whatever rigger does the job, obviously we'll be very thankful to organizers, as usual. Also, RIP neko bar?
>>1713 NekoBar is up again as of right now
>>1713 >I'd rather the two main competitions keep similar formats Of course, they could just be the summer cup and the winter cup.
>>1713 What about a double elimination tournament, sort of what fighting games do? It's much faster to set up, allows for way more teams to participate without having to worry about league standings and every match counts, unlike some bouts among already eliminated teams.
>>1716 Those could be fun for friendly tournaments, but I wouldn't like that for the cups. I put a lot of effort into my team and some others, so I'd be disappointed if they only played one game every six months, half the time.
>>1720 It could lead to multiple tournaments, though. You're guaranteed 2 matches per tournament per team, but if there's like 2-3 tournaments per season you get a minimum of 6 matches per season.
>>1716 Well I didn't know much about this, but sure enough, those leagues have precedents for that too. The reason I insist so much with them is because you don't just need to choose what teams get to participate in a tournament, you also need a whole set of rules and instructions on how to handle special situations, like home teams and yellow cards and tie-breakers and such. Having professional precedents means that we only have to go and check those every time a special situation comes up, making it quite easier to organize things. As for the suggestion, I don't think it could be used for the two main cups, but it sounds like a very neat way to choose teams from them for pre-established friendly tournaments. And we'll be needing a lot of those between intervals in my opinion. Alternative tournaments where random managers just sign up their teams, or with whatever set of rules for classification you can think of, all of them are welcomed. The important things are to have fun and to have /test/s. I'll say this again: the first thing we need is for volunteer riggers to actually figure out if they can start setting up stuff and prepare the first set of alternative organizers. Now, as for /yuri/... Thanks rigger for finally putting up our match with /2hu/, I needed that!! We have a little problem now, our staff is still quite busy irl, and we currently lack many of the assets we need to prepare our team for the next time. Could you please post our Player Cards in our thread back at smug/yuri/, together with a list of the available models we already have and who are they assigned to? Pretty please, we don't have that info right now, and we need it to update the roster a little and find more models for the next Cup. I don't know if there are still some models being worked on by blenderfags, but we're not even sure which are already done, yet.
UPDATE All match videos are now viewable on NekoBar. I am slowly (slowly) posting game stats on the stage pages of the Cup (e.g. http://infinitycup.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Infinity_Cup_6_Group_A ) I should have the awards counted and well, awarded before those stats all go up on the wiki.
Will both the save file and the aesthetics for this Cup be uploaded to the wiki?
>>1748 >>1748 Seconded, give us the models, SKF
Slowly but surely getting those stats done. Things are coming up pretty regularly at the last minute that limit my time to put things on the wiki. You waited damn near a month, but here it is, the final wrap up of the 6th Edition of The Infinity Cup. The Award we knew heading in, the Golden Boot, was a first, being split by 3 players, all of whom are captain of their respective teams. So without further ado, here's a quick rundown: The Golden Boot Alfred Legosen, Ammit, Cuckquean-tan (6) Again, we knew this coming in. The Golden Boot is no stranger to being shared, but bby 3 people is new territory. insert /cuckquean/ joke here The Golden Touch Benito Mussolini (5) With how /fascist/'s fans were giving him shit, you'd think Benito ended up with maybe two points the whole way. Not the case, as his coming alive in the Knockout Stage sent him clear of Catgirl Maid who finished 2nd with 4 assists. The Golden Glove Charles Maurras Resisting my apparent natural inclination to spell his name "Maurass", I give the best keeper award to /fascist/'s netminder. Yes, he very nearly shit the bed against /lego/, but his performance the rest of the way was excellent. Tack that onto an impressive Group Stage showing (the shutout vs. /christian/) and Maurras earns the keeper crown. I do have to give credit to both of /bane/'s keepers though. They played 4 and 3 games respectively, and both held a goals against/keeper coefficient of under 1.00. The Golden Ball Cuckquean-tan The most difficult choice I had to make, second only to Goal of the Tournament. /cuckquean/'s captain had a terrible performance through the Group Stage. Amazingly though, CQ-tan turned it around in the Knockouts, with all 6 of her goals, and 2 assists coming in the final stage. Her 8 points were actually matched by Mussolini (3-5), but I just couldn't look past her surge of goal scoring. She single-handedly took down /yuri/ with a hat trick in the Quarters, almost earned Goal of the Tournament too. Again, it was tough. The Golden Screw Sweet Dreams /late/ & /comfy/'s keeper suffered the lowly distinction of being credited with the only own goal of the tournament. A 90+1 shot from a /cuckquean/ player went in off him and stole a tie from his squad. In a truly cruel twist of fate, that point lost would have been enough to see them through to the Knockout Stage, as their win against /monster/ would have given them enough for passage through the 3rd place group at least. If you ask me, the designation is bullshit, the keeper's job is to make saves, and he had to try and stop that shot. From what I saw, it was going in anyway, so to slap him with an Own Goal is just twisting the knife. So yeah, he got screwed. I could have given it to the whole team now that I think about it, but Sweet Dreams took it on the chin especially hard. The Jade Clock /eris/ 4 - 4 /sp/ (Group F Match) I don't like the name of this award so I'm changing it. Match of the tournament goes to /eris/-/sp/. I was thinking about giving it to /lego/-/fascist/ but that was more "Tale of Two Matches" rather than Match of the Tournament. The back and forth nature of the 4-4 draw, plus the yellow card to /eris/'s GK and the resulting penalty was what sealed it. Explain the joke behind the Jade Clock name and I might keep it The Award With No Name (Goal of the Tournament) Dr. Pavel, 4-0 goal vs. /animu/ While it doesn't have the in-match significance of last year's officially unofficial Goal of the Tournament, Dr. Pavel's 4-0 dagger perfectly encapsulated the state of the match that day. /bane/ were relentless on attack, and when they struck, it was both deadly and effortless. Pavel's cheeky back heel was all that and more. Coming just at the start of added time, the goal gave him a brace on the day, and completely buried /animu/. This one was the toughest choice for me. You have Ammit's Bergkampian effort vs /bmn/ to tie it 1-1, and Cuckquean-tan's 2-2 marker vs /ausneets/ to contend with (webms here >>1859 ). There's arguments to be made for all 3 honestly. I went with Pavel's because it just got better every time I watched it. Ammit's was excellent, it almost reached that mark. Cuckquean-tan's is almost as nice a setup as it was a goal, but it just didn't have enough to surpass Pavel's. As for the other awards, I didn't see fit to award Platinum Lube yet because I'm still not sure what it is (maybe that can be our version of the Wooden Spoon, now that I type this out). Aquamarine Microphone would be masturbatory considering it was only 4 of us. Star of David, the irony is not lost on me, giving it to a player from /christian/. I think the description needs a rewrite, maybe a shortening. Again my issue with it was that it seems to be meant for fans/a management team, but most of you were on your best behavior, save for those early drivebys. I'll take a look, but the ones listed above are all on the Awards page now, so check em out.
>>1857 >Cuckquean-tan wins Golden Boot and Golden Ball Time for smug. Very proud of our girl! Thank you for taking the time to wrap all this up. The Winter Cup season is officially upon us! Tentatively set for late January/early February, the Infinity Cup Committee proudly presents the G Cup, a friendly competition between webring boards that lay claim to representation of a world nation. Teams will take up their respective flags and take the pitch to claim global supremacy, in matches contested under Infinity Cup rules. "But what if my board doesn't represent a nation?" Worry not anon, I'm also opening the floor to teams willing to participate in exhibition matches. Select another board to take the square off with, or leave it up to random chance. These friendlies will serve appetizers on match days before we get to the G-Cup games that "matter". Plenty have teams have lined up to participate in the Winter Cup, and while it won't be a full on Infinity Cup, I did want to give you guys something to fight for. Like I said before ICUP6, my goal is to keep driving the Cup towards something sustainable, and easy to pick up. This means pouring over thousands of files, fucking with HEX, and tinkering with Konami-built bullshit to see how it works. By hosting this scaled down version of things, I'm hoping that I can make big progress on that front. I'll be looking for anons (preferably those not already taking up management of a team) who can host a matchday or two, and we're still looking to expand the commentary booth. All in all, we're still looking to put together a solid event, so a good time can be had by everyone. I'm leaving this post in the meta thread for now, and I'll keep a personal running tally of those who want to participate either in the G-Cup, or in the exhibition games. Once I get the logo for the Cup ready, I'll create the meta thread for it and post all relevant info in there from then on. As the realities of the webring continue to keep anons from being together, I'm going to keep working on having this one thing that we can gather around and have a laugh with. I look forward to having you all here when the Cup kicks off come winter.
>>1913 Baller, dude, hoping to see a test cup before the end of the year though
>>1913 Thanks for your work, friend.
Sweet, sounds great! Is this one organized by SKF or another volunteer? I only ask because I'm looking to create a new stadium and fix modelling issues, last time there was direct communication which was useful (but it's not strictly necessary).

Hey so someone shilled this on /mlpol/dotnet saying we could join in. I see that you all run this a bit different from the 4 chan cup or the /pol/eauge. I've been trying to dig through your wiki and this meta thread to get a feel on how things are run here but its still pretty unclear to me. So I'll throw in a few questions and hope they either get answered here or on the thread one of you made on /mlpol/. 1. Is live managing allowed? 2. Are midcups a tactical export changes a thing? 3. Is the icup on the fox engine? (The engine where we have our latest aesthetics export.) 4. Is the Gold Silver SIlver Bronze Bronze format similar to the autumn 18 cup's format or different?
Is this still a webring series or are other boards now entering? Because 3 separate /pol/ teams without a /leftypol/ is just boring.
>>1943 To be fair I'm not even sure if we can enter in, someone just shilled it on the board and more or less said come here to talk about it, no idea if it was someone who helps organize it or if it was just someone from our own site who wanted to see us play here given that they didn't have a name (not that trips would mater between sites).
>>1944 Sure, it seems legitimate though. Good luck. I'm just concerned this might get over-saturated with the /pol/itics cancer, but then again this competition tends to bring out the best of each board (except /cow/, who weren't invited) so you should be fine. Merge them like /v/ into an Axis powers team!!1!: /dup/=Germany, /fascist/=Italy, /mlpol/=Japan
>>1940 Very glad you guys came, let me answer those: Yes, we do run things a bit differently due to the scope of the cup being much smaller than the 4CC. Most of the work is done by our tireless rigger SKF and his pals, while I mostly just hang around the board and occasionally do wiki edits. 1. To my knowledge we have never done it, but it's mostly because 90% of the teams were created by anons and left unmanned. I think we can definitely do something like it, just ask the host - also you can add a substitution strategy as well, so even if your manager can't make it the riggers know what you had in mind and will attempt to follow your instructions. 2. We had a few instances of teams changing formation so unless it's an entire rewrite of the team I think we can do that. 3. We run PES 2017 tournaments so I'm assuming it does. 4. I am not sure if you're referring to 4CC's or 8CC's here, so I'll just write down the rules as I remember them. Each team can have: >One Gold player (6 player cards/COM playing styles, lvl 99 stats) >One Silver player (4 player cards/COM playing styles, lvl 92 stats) >Two Bronze players (3 player cards/COM playing styles, lvl 85 stats) >At least one Goalkeeper (only one player card automatically assigned, GK Long Throw, lvl 70 stats) >Every non-goalkeeping player has 40 as his Goalkeeper stats As for height, we used to ask for those stats as well but since the riggers are very few and most teams don't even bother to give us any, we usually just handwave it unless it gives a significant advantage to a team. >>1943 We used to be an 8chan only cup, then it died and it became a Webring only cup, then it kind of lost momentum because of Julay and drama so it became more of an all encompassing inter board/imageboard tournament. After all we do allow mixed teams, like with /late&comfy/ being a rep for both /late/chan and anon.cafe/comfy/. Or /v/ being a team for both (((Markchan))) and Zchan's /v/s. Or Gaymergoiym having their own team that is practically separated from /v/. In essence, if you put enough effort into your team and it has a board culture to represent, you're pretty much a-okay for the tournament. >Because 3 separate /pol/ teams without a /leftypol/ is just boring. There's a discussion within the catalog about it, general consensus seemed to be that people don't really want them or don't care enough to get them in. I wouldn't be against it but I'd rather people wouldn't desert the matches just because they're in. Also, the /pol/ that tried to join is a Poetry board, but they never posted any export, while the other political boards are more niche than /pol/.
>>1945 >Merge them like /v/ into an Axis powers team!!1!: /dup/=Germany, /fascist/=Italy, /mlpol/=Japan Only if SKF greenlights a /qanon/ board. He can't handle the truth of the patriots...............

Currently we don't have live managing, but like they said you can define a sub strategy (/fascist/ for example change from 3 forwards to 4 at 70' by bringing on a supersub). >>1947 >general consensus seemed to be that people don't really want them or don't care enough to get them in The thread is gone but it's still in Google's cached pages. The main argument was 'not webring' which was a legitimate argument last tournament. The rest was basically 'I don't care' vs 'stop liking what I don't like', the second one I feel is hypocritical and against the spirit of the tournament. I'm happy to take it to its own thread so it doesn't interrupt this one.

Alright, a few things need to be cleared up. Apparently a ton of invites have been sent out, to boards and sites I've never even heard of. Obviously, that means it is not me sending these posts out. When I took the helm of the ICUP, we were still on 8chan. Shit has obviously happened since, and we now reside on the webring. As such, and as previously stated here >>1913 , on the wiki, and during streams, I maintain the Cup as an event for the anons and boards of the webring. I intend it to be for us. NOW, this is not the Infinity Cup itself, this is a spinoff event. I wanted to leave the door open for non-board joke/meme teams to help keep things light and fun. So if the boards that ended up invited wish to genuinely participate, I will let them in with good faith for these exhibition matches. However, if things even remotely look like they're going sideways, I will pull the plug on this shit. We had a brief spell of bullshit last Cup, and I've already mentioned what happened in Cup 4. I do not want drama getting in the way of a good time. So if everyone stays on their best behavior during, we'll all be fine. With that being said, the anon who is reaching out to other sites and boards, I'm asking you to stop because it has served to complicate things. Rapid expansion is a death knell for sports leagues in real life, let's not let it muddy the waters here. >>1947 >As for height, we used to ask for those stats as well but since the riggers are very few and most teams don't even bother to give us any, we usually just handwave it unless it gives a significant advantage to a team. Absolutely not. I follow that shit to the letter BECAUSE it can give such a significant advantage. If a team doesn't submit heights, I fill them in according to the rules, and attempt to be as fair as possible. I don't screw over teams by giving the top heights to bench players who will never see the pitch. The height rules have always been listed on the wiki with the rest of the rules applicable to roster creation. >We used to be an 8chan only cup, then it died and it became a Webring only cup, then it kind of lost momentum because of Julay and drama so it became more of an all encompassing inter board/imageboard tournament. Again, not quite. It's for the Webring. Also, don't give those shitstirring fags who popped in on Day One any credit or attribution. They don't deserve it. >>1965 >>1966 >>1967 F. Enjoy your armchair in the sky, big man. >>1968 >The thread is gone but it's still in Google's cached pages. So it is. Does this board only have 5 pages? I know we're slow moving, but given the number of threads that need to stay up here, I'd like to see that changed. >The main argument was 'not webring' which was a legitimate argument last tournament. They took direct action to compromise the stability of our former site, and thus the Cup. They made their choice. I'm not going to hear better reasoning on the matter than that. Mod edit to prove it's really me.
>>1973 >Does this board only have 5 pages? I know we're slow moving, but given the number of threads that need to stay up here, I'd like to see that changed. If you have Early 404 turned on and it was under the reply limit for Early 404, it may have been removed early.
>>1973 Global thread limit is 50. Looks like /icup/ is at 50 so any threads pushed off are lost. If we raise the limit it is raised for everyone. How many threads do you think you'll need?
>>1978 Not BO, but can you global-up, local-down?
>>1981 We can't set per-board administrative limits that BOs can't change, so we have to assume they'll all want the most threads they can have.
>>1973 So is there a height system on the wiki? Can't seem to find the rules page on it, if there is one it'd be nice to have that link, otherwise if you wouldn't mind telling me the system that would be helpfu.
>>1973 >Absolutely not. I follow that shit to the letter BECAUSE it can give such a significant advantage. >>1980 Interesting find, anon. I have noticed that the same message was posted on another couple of Endchan boards. Is there any deeper meaning behind this? This isn't yet another Dragongate scenario, right?
>>1973 Indiachan anon here So does it mean we cannot join? We're kind of a smaller community compared to the places I've seen here so we don't really get many chances to do something fun like this.
>>1978 I've seen complaints on /fascist/ about the catalog size as well recently. Bumping it up would be a big help
>>2008 I personally don't mind non webring boards in as long as they're well behaving anons.
(I am not staff or admin) >>2008 I think what they are saying is: >last year, we restarted the soccer/football games with Infinity Cup 6. This was only for teams in the Webring imageboards. >this time, we're doing a small cup (the 'G Cup') for specific Webring teams, but also allowing other teams to play bonus friendly 'exhibition' matches before the normal games. So I think you will be allowed to play in the bonus exhibition matches only, not the main official tournament.
>>1978 No idea if it puts any additional strain on the site by bumping it up, but having it at say 75 would be serviceable. >>2002 Think we're good on jannies for now, things are moving slow enough that it's not a problem. >>2008 We'll let you participate in this event. >>2011 pretty much summarized it right, this is just a bunch of friendlies, and not the completely serious, rigorously contested, official ICUP, so we can open it up.
>>2004 >>1980 Forgot to reply to these. I wouldn't go as far to invoke Dragongate, since nothing has actually happened. What does give me pause is how the posts are written. I've always had a copypaste post that I change minor details on in order to get info out to the relevant boards ASAP, but this one feels off for some reason. The writing feels like an amalgam of previous posts & stuff on the wiki, rather than info being penned out and formatted into a post. Also whoever did it didn't take into account different sites have different formatting rules (look at how Infinity Cup didn't get bolded on mlpol dotnet). I'm not suggesting anything sinister is afoot, it just seems like a weird combination of low effort but also effort at the same time.
>>2013 By the way, I've taken the liberty of archiving the whole board, including the pictures of the provided exports, just in case some threads fall off the catalog and we don't have info on teams willing to participate. https://web.archive.org/web/20201126165542/https://anon.cafe/icup/catalog.html
>>2016 Here's an older archive of it, with most of the threads that have fallen off: https://archive.is/UBbpN Those threads are archived as well
>>2017 >>2016 Excellent. Old exports could also technically be reverse-engineered via the old save files on the wiki, but that would take a long time and would be very tedious.

I'll keep this brief, because it's just frustrating to type out. My intention to host the next Cup in late August is no longer feasible. If I must be honest with things, that was probably the reality in early July, I just didn't want to admit it. Work has become too busy to make much progress on things, let alone set aside time to eventually stream the Cup. Cup 7 will still happen, it aint dead. It's just about finding the time to make it work. It's a shame we can't capitalize on the backs of Euro 2020's status and success, but that'll be meaningless in the long run. I'll still slowly be scraping work together. SKFInfinity at protonmail if you need to get in touch directly. >>2833 Haven't heard anything new since. I'm going to start searching for a new peertube to host the videos as the main, and I'll have everything backed up on an archive site. Nothing's been deleted from my PC, and I have backups of the raw stream files. I even managed to pull the Cup 1 footage from Dailymotion. It's a shame Nekobar probably won't come back. It was the perfect site, and I loved the play on the name that it's a sports bar staffed by catgirls. Oh well. Edit for proof.

I wanted the cut-up matches to be on a single, watchable channel. For the streams, the half-Cup used to have a website that would store the raw videos as files for access. I want one of those here. So if someone wanted a 3 hour MP4, they could download it for themselves from the site. It wouldn't be watchable there, but it doesn't need to be. Again, only if that's possible.
(381.12 KB 1534x570 icup playlists.PNG)

>>3226 Hello SKF. Since you have both the full streams and the matches cut up feel free to send me all of those. Hopefully it's the full Nekobar archive we had if pic related was up-to-date. >spoiler What we're using currently is an account on the Internet archive, which has the playlists hidden. This means that the only way to find those is to link it directly, and right now we have two playlists >>3136. The idea is more or less to separate playlists in both cups and versions (eg. one playlist would have the matches, the other one the raws). I don't know if this is what you'd prefer or not.
>>3228 (me) I'm not honestly too sure what to do about the idea of having an entire site for the archives like half does. Could work as another site, but I don't know too much about maintenance costs and shit to dive into it. In any case, for now I want to continue with the last day of the Gcup because I counted roughly 3 or 4 matches to be salvaged from my copy of the stream, but since you have everything still, shoot me some links either here or at the e-mail in the post. And one last thing: welcome back
>>3226 Re-watchable site: I think hosting unlisted clip videos on archive.org that get linked to/embedded on another site (or even the wiki) is the safest and incidentally cheapest solution. Take the example of 4CC's designated site implying.fun , which is insanely slow (its not just me, right?) and a single point of failure (what if the owner loses interest or is incapacitated without handing over?)
>>3249 That's what I was doing before with Nekobar. I'm going back and forth between Rumble and Odysee as the host site, I'll let you guys know when I've made a decision on that one.
>>3254 I would argue that for static video files, neither. They're volatile like nekobar was. archive.org has a proven track record, no for-profit crap or trackers, and enough invested groups that it basically can't be allowed to go down. When an alt-tech site becomes unpopular or runs into legal trouble, it will often just fold. The streaming host itself is different, that can be volatile as you want and if those platforms allow the kind of dumb edgy crap we like, then that's wonderful.
Uploading ICUP 6 raws to Archive. Need to stitch together some video for the missing days as both Ox and myself encountered some internet hiccups during streaming. Once those are (re-) rendered, I'll add them to the list.
>>3265 I forgot that I recorded the final day in higher quality, the raw is 15 fucking GB. So be it. Up it goes.
GCUP Raws are uploading now. Due to what happened with the internat issues in 6, it looks like I recorded them in bunches. There's no full "Raw" for Day 3 of the Group stage, as I recorded things match-by-match directly via OBS. So those Raws will look incomplete, but every game will be in the archive when it's all said and done.
fuck it, got the three ICUP 4 Raws I had uploaded too.
For future reference, archive allows multiple uploads I'm feeling like a retard for finding out just now
Moving on to getting the ICUP 1 stuff I had pulled from Dailymotion.
>>3337 SKF you have to reupload two of the files without the slashes. Archive has turned them into directories. https://archive.org/download/ICUP1
>>3339 They might be able to just rename the individual file and move it into the base directory. Much easier than a reupload if it lets you do it.
>>3339 >>3343 Easy enough. On it now.
Are there any videos from ICUP 2 to be uploaded to the archive?
>>3352 Those seem to be lost, but I did find a semi-incomplete cache of post-match pictures that show the results.
Update board flags pls?

>>4585 As a viewer I personally wouldn't mind to see new teams into the cup, though I would go removing the more derivative teams that have nothing to do with 8ch (e.g. /fschan/) and try to revive teams that are more thematically interesting (/tg/, /fit/, /tech/, /bane/). For example, the zzz/fit/ BO has expressed his interest in repurposing the 2016 /fit/ team to be used in a future cup, which, if done correctly, would be a more interesting contender than perhaps half of the teams that are competing in the current one.
>>4587 Speaking of /fit/, BO is asking what version of PES is the rigger switching to after this cup.
>>4587 to revive the teams you must first revive the boards

>>4600 >revive the boards >when the entirety of most boards participatng in this cup have 10PPD maximum i think we both should settle down on the fact that the activity is not coming back. those people are gone. that doesn't stop the divegrass from going on. think of all the dead boards partaking in this cup, or those small niche ones that barely register one post per day, or the /v/ team that takes a piss on the culture of the board it represents. honestly who gives a shit. i want to watch some footsies and i want it to be as entertaining as possible, even if we had to ride on the corpse of a website to keep it up
I'll have time to read through this and think about it later, but I will not be able to manage dozens of teams by myself again. We saw how it turned out in the stream, and I know how it turned out as a huge time sink. At this point in time, and this is open to feedback, it seems like the two options are either: - we start getting managers involved, so people who are able to download PES can help to handle the construction and submission of their teams - we downsize the cup significantly Any invitations between now and me manually declaring invitations open will be outright ignored.
>>4603 >/v/ team that takes a piss on the culture of the board it represents. i dont understand budy whats wrong with the /v/ team all i see is vidyo characters and devs seems pretty appropriate to me ok bye

Locking the /monarchy/ thread because someone is spamming commiecat pictures in there.
Good luck to the teams that remain My bets are on a /cuckquean/ - /yuri/ final >>4665 Can't you just block the file hash for the commie car spam? It's not really that much of a bother right now.
>>4666 >My bets are on a /cuckquean/ - /yuri/ final /cuckquean/ wasn't even that good, it was simply that /v/'s defense line was exhausted by the time the second half came by. Something more realistic would be /eris/ - /yuri/ or /eris/ - /japan/

Yep, it worked perfectly when I tried on my testing rig. It was a preparation mistake. Anyway, I suppose the irony in /eris/ winning that that the next cup's host will actually be hosting the cup.
Congratulation, /eris/, it was a long time coming and I'm glad one of the most colorful teams around managed to squeeze a win. Update your logo ASAP so we can edit the wiki with the star on the apple. >>4696 Cheer up lad it will go better next time.

Can you change this to something like "Congratulations to /eris/"?

>>4847 I know there's CP being spammed routinely everywhere, but as soon as there was a new post up here in the models thread this guy made a visit. It almost seemed preemptive.
