I think that because of generations of slavery and tribal warfare blacks have been selectively bred into these animalistic brutes and knowing this excites us on some level.

Black people have always been very primitive compared to other races, so the same logic of them being primitive beasts applies, slavery or not. Don't get me wrong by the way. I am not saying that I personally think black people are "primitive beasts". I like to think that I'm a very non-racist person that treats everyone as regular people. But..., I am saying.., that this is the underlying psychological explanation of why so many people have this fetish. Somewhere deep down there is a racist instinct inside of us and we see people with different skin colors as different. The fact that black people aren't really getting along that well in our modern societies probably accentuates that instinct.
