Right, at this point, I feel you're either being disingenuous or intentionally obtuse.
>you are actively attempting to hide how unbalanced it is.
Have you seen the fucking setting I'm working with? I am trying to balance over 60 years of audiobooks, novels, TV series, a movie-- all of which have their own special monsters of the week, most of which are insanely fucking overpowered. These monsters include the literal devil, scary shadow monsters that seem invincible and can possess anything, giant multiverse-eating, time-traveling snakes, and tiny potatoman soldiers with funny voices. I cannot even begin to balance any of this without destroying my life, it is a complete fool's errand that I do not have the time for. I have taken the two most well-known and desired species into account (and might have done a few more options for Dalek/Cybermen if it were easier to come up with traits for them) and left the rest up to Jumpers' imaginations.
This blanket "other" is the best way I can manage any of this. Casual viewers unfamiliar with Who will be directed towards the two most prominent "good guy" races in the series, and if they know of Daleks or Cybermen they'll have the option of choosing to make such a character. Experienced fans with specific pet species they want to become will also be able to have fun with the world because their niche audiobook-exclusive species from a single serial in the mid-2000s will also technically be accounted for.
I cannot even begin to give the Other Species option its own category, because it would be like trying to make generic traits for every single Jump out there. It can be done, I'm sure, but it'll be so bland it's pointless and it will be completely useless to the absolute vast majority of Jumpers. I cannot, in any way shape or form, make traits that will equally apply to this insanely huge bestiary. At the absolute least, I am not the right person for the job because I have a schedule that I cannot change and must work around. The best I can do is give the illusion of balance, because any Who jump that isn't as insanely restrictive and unpleasant to play as the original will inevitably become wildly unbalanced if elaboration is attempted.
>So... not the sort of objective difference which merits an increase in price.
Whatever you say man. If you can't see why bringing along the literal-god main character of a show as popular as this would merit an increase in price, I have nothing to say to you.
>1500 CP starting total.
Already edited to be less drastic, and would have precedent regardless. This is seriously not too big a change, especially given that most Jumps already let you reach 1500 CP with perks. If you're that thrown off by this, just ignore the Jump.
>Time Lord race locking you out of all other race discounted perks.
Already explained why. This is also part of the illusion of balance, by the way, because if I just let them take normal perks and drawbacks too then they'd objectively be the best option to the point that all others would look boring in comparison. At least this way they seem self-contained enough to be a choice, not a requirement.
>All Drawbacks being locked to specific races.
It's Time Lords vs everyone else. I already explained why.
>Certain Drawbacks being locked to a combination of particular races and roles.
This is a weird one, I'll admit, but mostly done to give these roles and races more benefits compared to how they would be otherwise. I can't imagine it being too hard to adapt to, just a bit awkward.
>Only being able to take the Doctor or the Doctor's companions as companions.
Shitty bait, try harder.
>The ability to take a spark at the end of the jump without any scenario to earn it.
The scenario is unfinished and will be attached to the final version. I've already clarified this before, but admittedly it was in another thread.
>Having an unrelated couple of backgrounds that share the same name. (Seriously, you couldn't name the species option Other and the role option Wildcard or something?)
Wildcard is a specific type of role that people might not want to fill, but I've been recommended to change the Other (species) name to Alien which I might do. I think the only reason I didn't start with that is because Time Lords are already aliens.
