If they do not work there is no point in even discussing them as they would be tried by a couple of doctors, the result would 0 or death and then they would naturally stop. Subsequently they could then point to any proponent and laugh at them while fully backed up by empirical evidence. Instead they started spinning wild tales about people overdosing on "horse medicine" or "ICUs getting flooded by people overdosing on ivermectin". Neither of which, even if you were to accept the premise that its not made up, have anything to do with the drug itself but people overdosing, a.k.a bad application. The only scenario where this sort of behavior makes any amount of sense is if ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine work as treatment but for "some reason" they dont want that treatment to be available.
