>Actually, much of their countryside is depopulated and desperate for new, young people. Tons of empty houses and space.
And this is the result of the economy transitioning towards services and manufacturing, like all developed countries. The more developed a country becomes, the more agriculture shrinks as a form of livelihood for the general population. There are no jobs out there; it's as simple as that.
>People are superior.
In what way? We have to depend on nature for survival. Not just that, nature is integral to our health and mental wellbeing. Do you know how much we draw out of nature? You probably don't. In this country alone, we used to have more varieties of corn and apple to eat, but because of industrial agriculture and artificial population growth from immigration and providing higher quality of life to POC's, there are now only a few types left. The rainforests of the world are often called "nature's pharmacy" because there are so many beneficial plants to us that we can utilize, yet more types go extinct every year. There is microplastics in all foods and you want to keep adding to the landfill that this planet is disgusting. It's disgusting and inhuman.
>Anyway, besides the 200 mill extra nips, there's room for forests too.
No, there won't. Let's say every country followed your lead and just kept overpopulating - they would have to continually clear what little land they had for agriculture and btw, commercial agriculture takes a toll on the land. There's also environmental fragmentation, which threatens animals, especially already endangered ones. You have no foresight. You think everything is free. You seem to not care about waste, or nature, or pollution, or overcrowding and all the problems that they're already causing.
>nips should just be fine with irrelevancy and the death of their culture, because "that's life" and stupid platitudes
Unless they keep spamming immigrants and mix themselves out of existence, there will be no death to their culture. A population decrease does not imply people will literally just stop reproducing permanently and die off. Every developed society starts reproducing less because it's not as necessary to survival and vice versa. All Japan has to do is not give in to LINE MUST GO UP and they will continue in perpetuity.
>No, that happened ten years in the past. Anyway, regardless of their record setting
And the overwhelming amount of those same people are still alive and it's within a generation. You just admitted that they set a historical population high and then you claim that they're "dying". No, they're not. The population is decreasing, which it absolutely should do for both the good of the planet and the people living on it. The only problem is when LINE MUST GO UP.
>In a few decades, again, as things are going, there'll be little left of their culture. What is that if not dying?
What are you talking about? There will still be more people in a few decades in Japan than in most of its history. Look at this graph. The birthrate rose and then it started to fall. Japan then had a baby boom after WW2 like most other developed countries and now it's falling again. There's no reason to think that there will never be a rebound again. Japan can only die if they fall for LINE MUST GO UP and replace themselves like we are doing. You buying into the illusory demographic crisis only enables that.
