The United States has proposed to introduce a fee for applying for asylum Anonymous 04/29/2025 (Tue) 11:13:16 Id: 3b17ce No. 42097
The Republicans of the Legal Committee of the US House of Representatives proposed, as part of a major reform package, to introduce a mandatory fee of at least $ 1,000 for applying for asylum, according to the text of the initiative. "In addition to any other fees... the Minister of Internal Security or the Attorney General... must charge a fee... for every foreigner applying for asylum... in the amount of at least $1,000," the draft says. In addition, the bill provides for the introduction of other additional fees: $1,000 for obtaining humanitarian password status, $500 for applying for temporary protected status (TPS), $250 for exceeding the validity period of a visa, $1,500 for changing status to permanent resident (green card), as well as an annual fee in $100 for reviewing pending asylum cases. In addition, the document provides for increased funding for migration agencies - the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Executive Office of Immigration Enforcement at the US Department of Justice (EOIR) - to expand the number of places in migrant detention centers, conduct deportations and increase number of employees. In particular, it is planned to hire about 10,000 new ICE officers and criminal investigation officers from the Department of Homeland Security by 2029. The bill also proposes to allocate additional funds for the implementation of the "Stay in Mexico" policy and for checking underage migrants for links to criminal gangs.
What a bad joke of a bill. Seems to be a running thing with the Trump admin. Whatever happened to downscaling government anyways? We're just going to pretend that's true while ramping up extrajudicial ICE agents?
>>42097 This administration set up a visa program it unironically called the gold card to sell US citizenship. This is just the economy plan.
>>42097 How about just not taking in infinity niggers? >>42331 the economy plan is infinity niggers to continue driving up debt and consumption.
>>42342 Don't worry, they'll just post the gigachad image with "got what I voted for award" (they voted for infinity jeets and war for Israel) (they're brown)
Interesting revenue idea. The problem is that it’ll be a hard sell to their constituents. People will look at this and not see enough 0s to impose a serious impediment to immigration.
>>42393 >Interesting revenue idea Yeah I bet it'll generate a whopping couple million dollars. We can finally get rid of income tax bros!!
>>42097 This doesn't raise revenue it deters applicants. I'm all for this. I'm not interested in any more foreigners of any kind. Country is full, go somewhere else, like Europe.
>>42461 it is always up to the country of asylum how fast they proceed they applications. There are countries which do it in 2 days and there are USA who take 3 years.
>>42097 >please makes checks payable to the state of isreal
>>42342 >@NickJFuentes That guy is literally a confirmed non-white homosexual <When does the "basedness" start again?...
>>42138 >Whatever happened to downscaling government anyways? It like so much was a lie. Just like the Reagan Administration saying it was cutting government and saving money.
