In addition, the document provides for increased funding for migration agencies - the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Executive Office of Immigration Enforcement at the US Department of Justice (EOIR) - to expand the number of places in migrant detention centers, conduct deportations and increase number of employees. In particular, it is planned to hire about 10,000 new ICE officers and criminal investigation officers from the Department of Homeland Security by 2029. The bill also proposes to allocate additional funds for the implementation of the "Stay in Mexico" policy and for checking underage migrants for links to criminal gangs.
