Real shepherds aren't clipped like farm animals. It would be impossible to trick a real shepherd into clipping themselves or real children bc they are shepherds, and therefore know these things intuitively. Since jesus referred to himself as a shepherd by saying he had a flock of his own, it's unlikely he was clipped. To a clipped cattle human, unclipped is lord.
