Hello gamers, I have a hypothetical question for all of you Would you rather have AI art in a game or no art at all? Assuming the writing and gameplay quality are the same for both
>>92344 I don't mind AI art if the end result is passable enough (like no extra toes or other body deformations).
>>92344 No art at all. AI art doesn't do anything for me and I have no interest in it.
>>92344 the AI art has to be good enough for me to not notice it's AI art which is seemingly really fucking hard for AI "artists" at the moment. Once it gets to that point, however, I won't notice enough to care.
>>92344 No thanks. If you could not be bothered to hire a real artist. Then what is to say you could be bothered to write a real story. Why not generate it as well along when you did the same for the images? Why not generate the gameplay as well, even the basic gameplay loop? If you dip into that AI rabbit hole, then it becomes a game of questions of "what else is generated." Also, majority of the community are artist themselves, artist who have a cult like following, some like a parasocial relationship where they stroke each other ego. Artist of some who shun AI, for reasons such as maybe their stuff has been scrapped and used to train AI without permission, generated contented that looks like their work because they were used as the training model, more competition, spamming of AI, or just on principle. etc… You need to be prepared to get shunned by them and those that follow them, or just outright avoid you.
>>92344 As someone without AI derangement syndrome like the pervious poster: it depends. If you were planning to release a purely text-based game, but then decided you'd add in some AI generated images as fluff, then yeah, the version with the AI images is objectively better. This is assuming you don't half-ass it and actually curate what gets shown. It should at least be coherent with that's going on in the story. A handful of chronically online retards will complain about it of course, but their opinion doesn't really matter because they wouldn't have been invested in the original product in the first place. If the art is supposed to be the main selling point however, then yeah, it should be something that your audience wouldn't be able to get themselves though an AI image generator. You said the alternative is "no art at all" though so I'm assuming it's the former case.
>>92420 *what's
>>92344 >Would you rather have AI art in a game or no art at all? I prefer having AI art over no art but the results have to actually look good, so you'd have to be really tight and accurate with your prompts and use template or source images to get consistent results. I feel like doing highly stylized art with a more anime/cartoonish look than something realistic would look better because AI seems to have a better handle on that.
Guys, does anyone have a way to access the contents inside that chinese telegram channel "@tickle_game"? I have tried everything, Nothing works, even that pan gongyun link someone shared a while ago is made private... Im dying in horny hell
>>92428 that asylum game?
Ok gamers, thank you all, really appreciate the feedback on the AI question I'll clarify a bit. The game is text-based, and is going to be free. I'm still very hesitant about actually making CGs with AI, but I experimented a bit with faces and busts and it actually looks decent? For comparison, here are the source image of one of the MC's reaction and the same image shoved through AI. Consider that in game both portraits will obviously be smaller and have no background. If you gamers deem it passable, I might actually stick to AI for portraits and busts Also to the person who sent the ai advertisement meme, I'm sorry I'm trying to achieve the best results with the limited resources I have an no drawing skills whatsoever ):
>>92439 By the way the source image is made on picrew with an editor created by the one and only moriguruta https://picrew.me/en/image_maker/187344
>>92439 I’m ok with the example. Well, you can try to put the option to turn them off, or maybe a toggle to turn them on and off while in scene. But I also understand that it’s more work.
>>92439 >text-based >free Then yeah, there's not really a reason not to if it looks half decent
>>92439 i am usually really an AI hater, but i see the vision for sure, no reason to bug yourself down with these things that take a lot of time for little value on its own. Like reaction portraits, spritework, interpolation. and as the guy abvove said, text based AND for free, i don't think you have to sweat much about it
>>92439 >I'm still very hesitant about actually making CGs with AI, but I experimented a bit with faces and busts and it actually looks decent? I think it looks fine and this is the kind of small-scope narrow application that I would personally also use AI for. >The game is text-based, and is going to be free. In that case, I feel like there's no reason not to use it. People will clutch their pearls and whine about AI, but they're still going to play it, and if it's good they'll like it too. If you were trying to sell the game people would use AI as an excuse to pirate it (which really shouldn't hold you back either because many people here would pirate it even if you didn't use AI, just with a different excuse). People are having the same conversations about AI right now they were having about digital art not being real art and 3D animation not being real animation going back as far as 30 years ago. This is nothing new.

Moving the subject away from AI for a moment, does anyone happen to know where I can get this game here? Preferably the original Japanese version.
I imagine y'all have probably played this already, but damn, it's so good. https://khimeraforge.itch.io/jac-laplume-private-interrogator-demo

>>92902 Could someone post a direct link to the game for those of us who don’t have a faggy X account for fags?
>>92932 here, the tweet just links further to this: https://ci-en.dlsite.com/creator/31052/article/1617291
>>93219 i second this, if nothing else but just to see more pokegals get wrecked
Just wondering if anyone has an updated folder of theangryegg's stuff?
>>93260 >get wrecked My brother, I hate to disappoint you, but it's a game by oneortheother and the art is from badcrab. There is no getting wrecked. Just girls cumming from being tickled with Oneortheothers 'writing'
Anyone got some old/classic games? Been in a drout and would appreciate games of any sort
someone have Pokemon Underground: A Fetish Diary 2?
>>93884 if you use your powers of reading, and comprehension, looking only a few posts higher than this one, you'll discover your answer.

It looks like that old flash game Julie the Tickler is making a comeback. The developer is looking to make a sequel. Unfortunately, it looks like the style of the game is using AI. I could be wrong, though. But either way, it's nice to see a classic game finally coming back after all this time.
