EDF Thread : No Epic Account needed edition Anonymous 10/25/2024 (Fri) 08:20:41 Id: 6dcbc8 No. 1031472
EDF 6 no longer requires epic gays store account to play multiplayer. We did it by passively sending ill will towards them. Im getting my ass kicked in later missions on hard and have switched to hardest to get some better weapons, only to get obliterated in early missions. Grinding is hard and Im tempted to get a mod to cheese through missions. Anon who's making edf mods, also has gdrive links in previous thread https://next.nexusmods.com/profile/xdiesp/mods Previous thread - >>895955
>>1446080 >>1432594 >Randomizer eventually oh das it mane
I managed to fuse the EDF6 campaign, both DLCs, the EDF5 campaign and its DLCs, plus my Lost Missions pack into one big campaign of 374 levels. But any modder can do that, mind, the real issue being that it would be warez: as everyone would be able to play DLC1 and DLC2 just like that. What's new is that it only works if you own the DLCs, so it should be distributable.
is 6 a good entry point for an EDF newb
>>1466511 No, start with 4.1
>>1466511 >>1466581 You can start with just about any EDF, I think. But yeah honestly if you can start with 4.1 since it's the first one you don't have to bother emulating and also so you can appreciate the additions/changes of the next two.

Where does the player go, when he enters a vehicle? It seems obvious that he becomes the vehicle itself, but what about vehicles where you can actually see the player on (bikes, pickups). Well, that can get funny, because in that case the player is indeed that visible placeholder... and getting him out forcibly, will cause some unexpected effects, like turning him gigantic.
I'm fascinated by the idea of removing health boxes and having the player rely on healing weapons, possibly in their own dedicated slot. Imagine if dying meant you respawned as another class, with 4 lives max, like you were bringing a full party into the game.

>>1494116 Sorry, I thought I posted the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QC2wkGi6YMAUavYQzGxYsNVqx_JfJ1ki/view?usp=sharing I haven't had time for a thorough test yet, but it should work.

>>1495670 I just noticed the EDF5 DLC1 mission: "Infiltrate Base 236" is not included. Was this intentional? I also noticed that mission "Reclaim Base 236" and "Defend Base 236" is not using the map as seen in the original game. Just curious.
>>1473725 Healing items already exist and I really do love the healing crates, it promotes aggressiveness and really comes in clutch during some missions. It's really fun seeing a single playthrough of a mission being saved due to a forgotten health crate in the corner of the map. I really wish they removed the armor and weapon crates though, that shit is tiring to grind and makes you lose your focus on killing shit.
>>1514976 EDF6 contains most of 5's content, but lacks two maps that were exclusive to the dlcs. The desert base and one of the underground bases. When I made the "EDF5 missions in EDF6" mod, I modified the mission using the desert base so it used the mountain base instead: but there was nothing I could do for the other one, the one you saw, as the underground base layouts were simply different. >>1516624 You can automatically pick up armor and weapons, using a patch. It makes the game a little easier though, since normally you don't know if the green dots on the radar are health or not. I'm still working on the enemy randomizer mod: it's a bitch to make, but it's getting done. While I slave after this, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a mod that removes all copied material from 5. Since a common criticism is that there's too much carried over. The mod would featuring only the original missions from 6, using only new enemies and so on. I also have enough new classes to completely replace the originals.
(523.25 KB 1579x895 Autogun.jpg)

I was working on an invisible NPC that follows the player around and summon allies for him, and managed to create a gun that shoots by itself. From your inventory, when you're not wielding it. Projectiles are shot normally, while ammo goes down and is eventually reloaded.
>>1543516 >Turning EDF into a full blown shoot them up It begins...
>>1543572 I have to try turning the ranger into a Mothergunship thing that shoots 6 weapons at the same time.

Here's the beta of the randomizer mod, for anyone willing to try it. Early tests showed that the late game and DLCs were basically impossible, so I added more allies, but I don't really think it was enough. It's actually a new type of NPCs I came up with, which can summon more of their own, but it can't do miracles if RNG screws you up. And this is the "easy mode" of the randomizer, which can only transform entities within a certain range of the original. I still have to make the fully random one, which can turn any ant into a kaiju. >>1569263 Noice
>>1569263 forgot to ask, does this work with online missions? if yes, do they also need the mod to work properly or only the host to randomize enemies? I just tested two missions, the second I restarted the mission and the Nameless appeared! Noice
>>1569586 I haven't tested the multiplayer yet, but while I did make sure that everything should work online, the netcode is bad enough that probably host and client won't be able to keep up generating the same random enemies on both machines (causing desyncs). We'll have to see.
I wish it could also change the in-event Siren battles with Glaucos.
Here you can see the randomizer in action, this mission was originally about androids. I have added a few addons to the Nexusmods page: now the random missions can be played with my custom classes (Valkyrie, Thunderstriker and Air Commander) or comboed with Lootmaster. https://youtu.be/vLMIYQQnSz8?feature=shared[Remove]
>>1571018 As you might have guessed, the Siren fights are too scripted to replace it with another kaiju: however, if you think that simply replacing them altogether with a kaiju fight would be good, I could do that.
EDF on sale (steam). Any new fun mods?
>>1622435 >*except the DLC thanks for making me look, you gay homo
>>1622435 A modeler cracked the lid open and now player models are being made. Master Chief and many others are already available. I'm currently working on a variant of the enemy randomizer mod, and afterwards I'll make a joke ranger class that shoots 6 guns at once (but can't stop firing).

>Randomizer mod (Scramble Type) https://drive.google.com/file/d/11XKxOCkzn1ZECE6vqwApBdOVBCYfcIjc/view?usp=sharing I'm currently testing this variant of the randomizer mod: it produces crazier results, compared to the more vanilla "shuffle type". Which may also make the mission impossible, if the RNG decides to fuck you up, but that's part of the fun.
>>1635715 Noice. Does it still include the chance to fight Pepsi Man like the easy mode? Can I get the chance to fight the dragon too?
>>1630598 >Yukes >EDF Not mainline!

>>1636435 Yes in both cases, in fact if one is patient enough, he could just restart the mission enough times until a dragon spawns right at the beginning.
