Video Games from your childhood you can't find Anonymous 05/07/2025 (Wed) 10:37:56 Id: 28a1d9 No. 1327277
Last thread I talked about a game I played as a kid I couldn't find, it was Magic Dream (Волшебный сон), a Russian kids game on CD from 1997 by Nikita Online. How my father got his hands on this I have no idea, as I live super far from Russia. https://1c.ru/vendors/nikita/MAGDREAM/MAGDREAM.HTM I recently went around searching a game from my teens I played when I first got an Ipod Touch and was somehow able to find it despite modern search engines being mostly shit. It's was 2009-2010 game called Destroy 9, by a sole gook Jongha Back, via his company NaomicSoft. I can't even find gameplay footage of it anymore https://apps.apple.com/fj/app/war-game-destroy-9/id550881679 It was a complete clusterfuck of a strategy action game where you produced and controlled units in real time in a 2D view with tons of SFX on screen. The localization was so bad I don't even remember what the objective was. There were like 6 versions of the same game as well with slight differences. Just complete insanity to the point I thought it was a fever dream The gook is still making games and his blogspot is still open, https://naomicsoft.blogspot.com/2010/04/destroy9_18.html Ask anons about games you don't remember or the ones you did end up finding here.
>>1327277 A Flash platformer with a similar art style to Cyanide & Happiness where you kill enemies by farting on them
>>1367786 I still remember playing a shitton of freeware compiled into disks, marketed as 100 GAMES INTO ONE And then sold for like 7-10 bucks, tons of stuff I still remember, including some music jingles in some games.
>>1367786 > space invaders clone where you had a willy instead of a defense ship, and you were shooting sperm to take down ovum flying at you (that looked like bologna slices due to the CGI graphics). Also, the shields were condoms... I've had stranger faps tbh.
I remember this strictly from my childhood and I've played these two games very rarely butbI prefered one over the other by a lot when I was a child. 1st one was an breakout/arjanoid clone that used a very metallic and industrial aestetic while it used a radioactive symbol somewhere either for the ball or for the cursor, but that might be misremembering from stalker (which I haven't played) 2nd one us strategy game featuring very very caricatures of farners, knights and such, dunno if it was a fantasy or not but I know the gameplay was bassically a tower attack game where you move units from one base to another in predestined paths dunno how the actual game type it is called and if you know It'd help me. Might look deeper into it then internet by actually taking a look at grandpas computer if they are still there since I own it now
Not from my childhood but I can't remember the name of a space shoot em up. It was anime stylized with you being able to play as different characters that had different space ships (that were much different from each other, both gameplay wise and looks wise) and each character gave their own side of the story on a chain of events. The game also banked on a good soundtrack and sounded very arcadey
>>1958770 The game also had a voice cast as well
>>1958770 Do you know if it was a PC or console game? That usually helps narrow it down.
>>1958812 It was a pc game and I'm pretty sure it came out around 2015-2019. It was a vertical shoot em up and the title screen was blue. As I said, the gameplay is different with each character. Some of them are great at close range, some of them are great at long range, and some of them are good at medium range with different bullet patterns

Let me remind you about this Iakov's Mead Trip.

>>1547279 > I still remember playing a shitton of freeware compiled into disks, marketed as 100 GAMES INTO ONE There were apparently a lot of collections like that. Most of them were sold by mail order or at trade shows. I got lucky and found one CD sold in stores in the mid-1990s that had many games that I had not seen before (and I was on a lot of BBSes) and was light on crap, whereas most collections throw in anything they can find. Props to whoever collected it. Two games that I remember being on it were the original demo of One Must Fall (before they used robots) and God of Thunder (a zelda clone featuring Thor as the MC). One Must Fall turned into a truly great game.

>>1961227 >shooting down bibles Are those bibles in german or something?
>>1961295 It was the '80s when making a goofy porn game was a way of revolting against the loony christian fundamentalists.
I did just re-remember Lucky & Wild recently after playing Road of the Dead 2 again and having vague memories of playing a similar arcade game at a supermarket. Never finding any cabinets, though. Same for Maze of the Kings; only place I found that was at the Excaliber casino in 2003. Mid-2000s Newgrounds had a scif-fi Tower Defense game where its gimmick was this simplistic chatbot. It had a limited set of responses based on your input, but you got the game's story through it. It seemed to have disappeared in the early-2010s and it couldn't possibly be due to copyright like >>1348678 mentions.

There's this ps1 game that I've been trying to track down for the last few weeks it was a wacky races type of deal but top down with Metal Slug type caricature artstyle could have possibly been on a demo disc? I'm unsure
For a second I thought you were talking about Motor Toon Grand Prix, but >top down So something like the micro machines games? Only top down game I can remember with caricature artstyles was Dare Devil Derby 3D.

>>2029586 HOLY SHIT THAT'S THE ONE! Spot on my anon Many thanks you just made my day
It seemed more like a tech demo than a proper game but I have vague memories of playing something where you were a steven segal looking motherfucker flying between sky islands. Don't even know how I'd begin searching for that.

>>2029717 >got it in the first guess My skills have improved. Seriously though, happy to help. >>2029939 Do you remember what kind of game it was? How old it was, or even what console/platform it was on?

>>2030027 Many thanks again my friend honestly impressive I'll remember to ask around here from now on instead of that other shithole
>>2030027 >>2030177 I think I played it on PC but it was PS2 era. The only gameplay I remember is the character flying in the sky between clouds with a 3rd person freecam and landing on floating islands with somewhat ancient greek inspired architecture (mostly columns and a fountain/pool or two)

There was a demo in a shareware CD I played in the early 2000s, it was a 3D game where you controlled a flying car in a city full of flying cars. You had a primary attack that was rapid fire twin cannons from the front and a secondary attack that was a missile that looked like a shining star. The only other thing I remember is the demo having no features except your control of the flying car, nothing reacted to your shots and there was no objective. I'm just curious if this demo has a full game associated with it or if it was just vaporware.
>>2030652 Was the car purple/yellow?
There is this one game that has evaded me for so long. I don't remember much of it and honestly it could be from a dream. So this might be a wild goose chase. I recall this fighting game arcade cabinet in a mid town Canadian movie theater while I was very young, it was around 2010's more or less. My brother and I put our dollar in and each picked a character. I recall the graphics were a sort of fake 3d, it kinda looked like Killer instinct or Primal rage. However I had KI gold on my N64 so I would have recalled it as such and there were no dinosaurs, I think the theming was gothic on the character select screen. I don't recall who I picked but I think my brother picked a character that might have resembled a skeleton (but could be poor memory too). During the loading screen the theming and feel of the game really started to creep me out and I stepped away from the cabinet leaving my brother confused. Unfortunately that's all I recall. I've looked at many videos online to see if a game out there looks like it, I think I remember seeing one that was almost it but foolishly didn't save it. Maybe it wasn't even a fighting game?

>>2031653 Mace: The Dark Age maybe?
There was a dirt bike game on N64 we used to play at a friend's house, and what I remember specifically about it was that when another racer passed you, a man's voice would say in a mocking tone "Denied". I emulated about 10 minutes each of Exitebike 64 and Supercross 2000, and while they look the part, neither seemed to have that distinct voice clip. On a similar note, my older brother remembers some kind of 3D arena fighter (also at the same friend's house) where a character says in a deep gruff voice "Okay piggy, here I come!" whenever he uses his super (which was a kamikaze charge). When he watched footage of The Unholy War, he was pretty certain that was the game he was thinking of, but it seems like none of the characters say that line.
>>2031668 Ohhh that one could be it. The skeleton is pretty freaking looking. This is either the one or looks similar. Regardless thank you, Anon.

(76.51 KB 960x720 Dragen.jpg)

>>2031906 Did the skeleton look like this?
>>1327277 It was a flash game on Adult Swim. With a politician running and gunning in Hell. Not sure which one, but I have memories of it... just cannot find it.
>>2032252 I looked at footage online. Dregan does hold a very close match to something that would freak me out as a kid. It's a very blurry memory unfortunately so I can't remember for sure. If I had to bet, it probably was a Mace Cabinet. Especially if no other game comes close.
>>1335739 Your fighting game sounds like bloody roar, but that was a PS/PS2 game
