E-celeb faggotry containment thread Anonymous 07/14/2025 (Mon) 17:12:01 Id: 759d2a No. 1562147
We haven't had one of these thread in a while, so I thought it might be ok, to once again have one of those containment threads, this time about e-celebs, and maybe some v-tubers like Rev says desu and patrician_tv :^). Anything goes, as long as it's somewhat vidya related, from Asmongold to Synthethic Man. >But isn't the thread against the rules? Rule 9 says that it's ok, as long as it's all contained in one single thread. There was a recent thread about Synthethic Man that got deleted, but there was a topic that started to be formed, but I think the thread got deleted way before it managed to reach it's potential, that of e-celebs growing old. I dread to think someone starting as a gaming e-celeb in their late 20s and doing it up until their 50s or even 60s, just because they aren't popular enough to get enough money to retire early, but still profitable enough to keep the gift going. From my point of view either you manage to retire early like Pew Die Pie, become a complete cuck like James Rolfe, kill yourself like JewWario, flee from society like Game Dude, become a complete lol-cow like boogie, swallow the tranny pill like Cosmo, or manage to move on to something else. I guess you need a certain level of narcisim to want to become an e-celeb, so it's hard for me to comprehend why you would want to do this shit even in your 60s, but if you can't retire early, maybe you should just change the direction of your channel, even if risks alienating your fans, because otherwise you have to watch the e-celeb go through a middle life crisis, like what I think Synthethic Man is going through, and maybe Spoony when he did that drunken Twilight review. So... how are you enjoying your games in your 30? Personally I don't play as much as I did in my teens and tweenties, as I dabble in other activities, but I am still passionate about the industry, and I still play games from time to time. Anyway, I am waiting for patrician tv to finish his bike road trip so that he gets the footage for the Fallout 3/NV review and promised face reveal.
>>1816366 Nice tits!
>>1816366 To think all the effort he is going through to say that Fallout 3 is worse than New Vegas.
>>1669135 >nobody likes corporate designs I wonder what he thinks about anime.
>>1815646 Yep. I was just passing by, seen this thread and clicked hoping to see someone saying that. By the way, what is the new hotness these days? Or what will be soon? I remember last things were "tiktok and yt influencers", a bunch of "vloggers" and also a lot of "diy tinkerers makers creators" and probably there are many other kinds of sales people I'm not aware of. These I knew because I'm into things they happened to be advertising. You know, like a guy assembling an obscure tech thingy or maybe building a PC out of unique/unusual components and of course there's referal links in the description. You will get a % off because those are his %, he is literally a sales person masquaraded as a vlogger-maker-creator or whatever. But it feels like these are going to be left behind real soon. I am already afraid of what is coming. We had these E-celeb things, manufactured stars of the youtube, almost all of them employed by the same company. What's next? Some AI bs? Was never into that sci-fi shit, haven't even played cyberpunk yet. The unknown is worse that a real thing sometimes. But I can bet it will be pretty bad. Something to do with biometric identification and thin clients. Ban of powerful computers in private hands, or you'll need a loicense to own a compute power greater than previous gen mid-tier androids or something like that. But that's purely tech. What are these "definitely not" sales people are going to do? Continue doing ads for big tech or something will happen to the existing model? I've seen plenty of tools for automated AI video creation and publishing (you've seen those probably, they are mostly still stock photo or simple generated "power point slides" pictures with a music on the background, either these or a lot of old memes compilation videos with laugh sounds on the background), now couple that with latest models for audio and video generation plus most of comments are fkn bots and there you have it. A fucking dead Internet. So how are they going to cope? How are they going to sell if nobody can tell if ads were seen by real people or bots etc?
>>1814970 It was both a pun and saying he's a character. It's fairly obvious that Synthetic Man is a guy who probably agrees with what he's saying, but it amping things up for attention and money. That's also why he doesn't have a doxx yet, despite being well known in these circles for almost 3 years.
>>1815646 I do not think this thread worships anyone, going by the sentiment of the thread as well as the entire board itself. If anything it's just laughing at shit they said or laughing at the retarded things they do or situations they put themselves in. Nobody here is constantly trawling the internet all day forming parasocial relationships with faggots they'll never interact with. Sometimes e-celebs say things that are apt or that are retarded and people comment on them, that's it. Or sometimes there's a genuinely interesting video even. But I would think the majority of people on 8chan refuse to let any stupid e-celeb "live rent free" in their heads.
>>1830925 >But I would think the majority of people on 8chan refuse to let any stupid e-celeb "live rent free" in their heads. I don't even understand why this thread exists in the first place, honestly. t. 8chan native

Sam Hyde has started a let's play channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOCr8RSzhSs
>>1843456 Is funny that the video of Synth doppelganger deepthroating a dildo resurfaces every few months.
>>1873527 it's over he's in his retirement streamer phase
(1.10 MB 370x270 athing3.mp4)

>>1873527 It's obviously aping Game Grumps, but I miss when Hyde wasn't doing whatever the fuck he's been doing since World Peace. I don't know if grifter is the right word but he's been intentionally cultivating a hyperonline Kick/Twitch zoomer fanbase of insecure irony poisoned teenagers that throw money at him with his paypig streams and foxdicks-tier projects like Autism Big Brother Fishtank. >I'm making clickbait highlight videos to farm views, but it's ironic! >I run engagement bait social media accounts, but it's ironic! >I'm doing no effort streams where you pay to ask me things, but it's ironic! >I'm doing a trashy reality TV-style internet show, but it's ironic! >I'm running a let's play channel, but it's ironic! That's been his shtick for years now. I was a huge MDE fan back in the day so it especially hurts to see him go full e-panhandler.
>>1874911 Let's plays are fucking dead as fuck now though.
>>1874943 Sam has literally always been like this, does nobody remember his nickname "scam and hide"? That was during his heyday. >>1874953 Not remotely true, maybe the actual term Let's Play but go to the gaming tab of YouTube and behold the billion kiddietubers making gaming videos with millions of views each.
>>1874958 >does nobody remember his nickname "scam and hide"? IIRC, that came from bronies after his fake MLP kickstarter. No one cared back then because who cares if bronies get scammed?
>>1874953 I mean as a genre sure, they've been done to death and saturated to high hell. But there are still a handful of channels out there that do actual let's plays (no face cam, full playthrough, show all endings, cover side content and extra materials like art books and tie-in media). In general however, yes, let's plays are dead.
>>1874953 They're no longer a guaranteed hit that lets you build a massive channel trivially (too many new games, too many LPers, too many little ways in which youtube went to shit...), but they're still racking in a very generous amount of views for how little effort they take. No commentary LPs are also very safe, no stated opinions + no face = no way for schizos and kiwiniggers to latch onto you.
>>1875348 >but they're still racking in a very generous amount of views for how little effort they take. reminds me of that one lets player, I don't remember his name I think it was Chugga something
>>1876201 Chuggaconroy. There were some #MeToo accusations against him a few years ago but he somehow came back from that.
>>1876293 funny how this is the first thing I see when I look him up https://youtu.be/-N3HX6yta5s?si=Ro1b92CJbztQB-Yh

>>1690790 Here's my personal list of video game yotubers I watch, although some of them are very comedy-centric which might not be what you're looking for: >DungeonChill: Currently my favorite video game reviewer, while his early videos are kind of rough since they're a blatant copy of another youtuber Grimbeard, most of his videos are amazing doing a good overview of the games and their development history, knows Japanese so he can properly cover details that are usually not found on other English-speaking sites, some light emphasis on comedy >Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games: The channel is basically done but regardless it gives good insight and tips about game development and project management >Majuular: Does video game retrospectives, his ongoing series on Ultima is extremely in-depth and informative about the mechanics and development history >MandaloreGaming: Reviews the game properly telling you about their mechanics and enough of the story/setting to understand whether you'll want to play the games or not, basically set the standard of what a video game reviewer should be, has a light emphasis on comedy >Marsh: Mostly covers SMT games, but has branched into covering other Atlus games and obscure RPGmaker games, while not completely fluent he knows enough Japanese to properly cover these untranslated games or call out grievances about the translations, his videos really give the feel of seeing a friend play through a game and explaining his experience of the game, has some light emphasis on comedy but is pretty good at explaining mechanics and difficulty curves, sometimes goes in-depth about development history such as his last two videos >Basement Brothers: 3 brothers who know Japanese covering old Japanese PC games in detail because they're acquainted with the language, explaining their ports/remake differences and touching upon their development history, always do their best to cover the games on their original hardware >Grimbeard: Reviewer, while having an emphasis on comedy he's pretty great at explaining mechanics, development history and receptions at the time of release, almost all of his videos are entertaining and you usually feel he goes to great depth of investigation although he does comes off as faggot at times >Indigo Gaming: Has two issues in that he kind of sounds like he's reading a script and that a lot of his topics are stuff that other people have covered in-depth, however he's extremely informative, specially for his documentaries like the ones he did to explain the history of God Games or the one he made about Quintet, in general most of his videos are great despite the topics >Blue Bidya Gamer: Autistically covering every PS1 game ever made in alphabetical order, goes really in-depth on the development history and the inspirations for games making his videos really interesting. Problem is that he doesn't know Japanese so when it comes to reviewing the game themselves he's kinda bad at explaining them >SsethTzeentach: Focuses on comedy, covers the gameplay well enough that you'll know if you want to play them by watching his videos, often finds ways to break/exploit the games' mechanics >Cvit: Specializes in action games, goes really in-depth about the mechanics of every game he reviews but when it comes to other details such as development history or story he's really inconsistent unless it's a retrospective, however he has done very few retrospectives only focusing on Hitman and Yakuza, at the very least I feel that he covers enough with each video to know wether you'll want to play the game he covers yourself or not >Warlockracy: Focuses on strategy, CRPGs and mods about the two genres, he usually explores the political environment that led to the video games' settings which is an interesting POV, has an emphasis on comedy, covers the mechanics pretty well, his thumbnails are shit though >Civvie11: Focuses on shooters, really good at explaining the game feel and mechanics, can get a bit too intense at times due to being a Texan, has a focus on comedy >Reggie / Reginald II: Emphasizes on comedy, most his videos are about exploiting a game's system as most as possible or doing an autistic playthrough of a game, really like his comedy >DidYouKnowGaming/Unseen64: Mostly just random facts about gaming that are mildly interesting, used to spread a lot of misinformation in the past but are now really careful about that so most of the recent videos are legitimately informative. Their mean appeal are the Unseen64/Gaming History Secrets which usually cover cancelled games, explaining in-depth about how they got canceled and even interviewing devs revealing never-seen before footage and concept art. Has a blog known as Unseen64 where they talk about even more cancelled games >Verac: Reviews games with some emphasis on comedy, he's pretty good but his best videos which are sadly just two at the moment are the retrospective of game developers which he goes really in-depth to explain the origins and what made them who they are today >The Grim Kleaper / Anti-Kleaper: Basically a lesser Reggie, but still fun >RndStranger: Covers old Japanese PC games, since he's trying to cover the entire library a lot of videos are about shovelware-tier games, other are uninteresting and other have virtually no info about their development which makes his video qualities inconsistent, but when he does cover an interesting he's fairly in-depth about the origins and content of the games and most of the games he covers are stuff that you won't find discussed in English anywhere else, one other problem about him though is that he sounds like nerd which is distracting >Sean Seanson: Does PS1 games analysises and compiles news of PS1 game translations which is useful to know what interesting shit has been translated >Sepi: Specializes on racing games, goes really in-depth about the feel and mechanics, really calls out devs' bullshit >F_T_B: Covers extremely interesting topics about old Japanese gaming and is usually pretty in depth about the development of the games/hardware he covers but goddamn the guy speaks like such a nerd that just activates my instincts of wanting to bully him, he's also fairly disorganized when it comes to his explanations which makes it hard to properly follow the topics. I'll still cut him some slack since he's fairly new and the topics he dies are legitimately interesting Not necessarily recommended: >NitroRad: Mostly focuses on Platformers and Horror games, he's really good on explaining all of the game mechanics so that one can know wether one wants to play the games or not, has some light emphasis on comedy and is really great at editing videos making him feel really professional, has the issue of being too lenient at times which usually isn't an issue since he goes so in-depth with the mechanics but when he reviews an indie game he just cuts them way too much slack and at times hides some of their problems with the setting/atmosphere/pacing/level design. The reason I have trouble recommending him despite what I said is that after he had financial troubles most of the output on his channel became a new kind of videos called "Nitro Ramble" which basically equate to "sellout videos" where he doesn't properly review the games and overtly shills them or shits on them, naturally he lost a lot of subscribers due to this and now his output has reduced significantly. I still consider most of his videos without the "Ramble" label to be good though >ScottTheWoz: His focus is on comedy which is pretty hit or miss but picks pretty niche interesting topics and has really good editing skills, because of that I'm still subscribed but I don't watch him as often because this guy has some of the most annoyingly zoomer takes I've seen that people in the gaming industry shouldn't follow under no circumstances >Alpha Beta Gamer / Alpha Beta Gamer The Dark Side / Manly Badass Hero: Admittedly I don't actually properly watch their videos and mostly use them as a video game recommendation channel or lightly view their videos to get a general idea of what the games they cover are about, they focus mostly on horror games and indie games >HeroVoltsy: Same deal where I don't actually watch his videos proper and mostly just use him to get recommendations of Pokémon fan games, I then mostly stopped using him once I found the Hispanic community of Pokémon which makes a lot of interesting fangames, but after one of their main sites got shut down I reverted back to using HeroVoltsy, conviniently most of those Hispanic games get translations these days so he covers them anyway >Shesez: Checks stuff that can be found out of bounds in games, developer tricks for optimization and regional differences between games, which all are interesting topics but the guy is surprisingly mediocre when it comes to actually explaining all of these things, so he ultimately just comes off as mildly interesting >Bowl of Lentils: Covers history of Japanese games, can't recommend it because I've yet to actually watch the channel, but it has been recommend to me and his topics seem interesting enough that I plan to give him a chance in the future, might as well post it here just in case
>>1877441 >list of 20 recommendations >only fucking grimbeard is called out for being a faggot
>>1878976 He's the only one I noticed that paint his fingernails and some of them are married, I mean I wouldn't be surprised if Sseth is a faggot given the sheer amount of gay videos he has for his jokes, but I don't really have any socials besides youtube so I don't really know about their personal life aside from what they show in their videos and what gets posted in here and halfchan Either way I just recommended the channels whose I like their content and sorted them from best to worst, but I somehow forgot Accursed Farms who I would put between Basement Brothers and Grimbeard Also today I watched two Bowl of Lentils videos for the first time and he's quite great so far, but apparently barely releases videos because he has a sidegig as a fan translator for games
>>1690790 >Matthewmatosis was good Lolno, he was always a worthless redditor on par with NeverKnowsBest, only way you could have gone lower was to pick Jacob Geller. You want good? Ludo Lense was good, but he quit years ago so don't expect more. Tehsnakerer is good, if quite niche. DoshDoshington also has good analysis/review vids when he's not involved in Factorio sadomasochism, but that stuff is also beyond niche and he's a bit of a doormat because Patreon and its consequences. You want to find more? Look for channels willing to have strong opinions and criticize popular titles, without devolving into contrarianism nor ragebait nor tribalism: yeah it's easier said than done. >>1876201 >10+ hour LPs split across dozens of episodes That's already overkill, just look at Alpha Beta Gamer: pick some random scary/funny/weird new indie that doesn't look too shit, record maybe 1 hour of gameplay on average, do it a few times a week, and watch the views flow in.
>>1879030 You don't need to look at their "socials" to find out some of them are faggots, you just have to watch their videos. >RndStranger made it clear how gay he is in this vid: https://youtu.be/dvZA3nHeNy0?t=10299 >Marsh seething about a heckin "shitlord" wanting to blackmail a drug trafficker in this game: https://youtu.be/H10im8i-SMw?t=2348 and this "gooner supreme" in this game: https://youtu.be/de-8Vz5Ng0A?t=1856

>>1877441 Decent list, but it needs to come with some some asterisks. Civvie11 is okay, but constantly downgrades his videos with "muh natzees" rants and his skits are genuinely unfunny. Unfortunately Cvit is just boring and his videos are only as interesting as the games he covers as a result. An annoying habit recently just keeps dragging in recent drama into his vids that are only tangentially related, like he's transcribing retorts arguments he had online. Majuular had a bit of virtue signalling in Savage Empires that dragged the whole video down for nothing. He is inoffensive otherwise, but he's not particularly insightful regarding mechanics or story. Mandalore is fine, but he hangs around a lot of other faggots and that has slowly affected his videos(Shodan being some flavor of tranny and that bit with Vinesauce that he admittedly had apologized for). He's not a complete doormat with progressive shit nor has he started the usual screed regarding "those heckin racists", but it is something to keep an eye on. SSeth is still edgier and succinct than most, but he has lost most of his energy and the editing doesn't feel as sharp anymore. Many assume he has offloaded the actual reviews, comedy and skits to other people and that might likely be the case. >>1881012 >Comparing a mechanical guy that walks the talk by actually publishing his own games to pretentious leftist faggots that hang around breadtube circles and peddle drama. Matthew has flaws in his views(His Dota2 vid actually sucks), but he stands out by never being particularly pretentious or overly long with an actually varied palette to point to.
>>1881274 I dislike Civvie because he's an asshole and has weirdly shit opinions on games. Not even normalfag shit opinions, but unique shitty takes entirely to himself. He liked Hedon so I can't trust his taste on anything. And the asshole part really turns me off because it doesn't feel like apart of the character. Overly caustic for no reason against games, their fans, and the devs. He's also pushed more and more into Channel Awesome cringe. I have no clue why he's considered "/v/core" or why he comes up so often. Watch Accursed Farms if you want actually good critiques of old games.
>>1881274 Reggie is a gold alt to SSeth.
>>1877441 Thanks for the list. Surprised to see another person actually mention F_T_B anywhere, I think he popped up on my feed and I found him by chance. The stuff he covers and his presentation almost make me suspect he was an 8anon at some point, or from a similar background. Also seconding Warlockracy and Sean Seanson and also NitroRad and SheSez, they're both a guilty pleasure of mine to watch over lunch or something even if they are on the more casual side of game reviewers. There were a few other channels I wanted to add to your list but frankly they don't really do analysis as much as just game coverage and commentary. You already mentioned ManlyBadassHero who's one of the few Let's Players who still actually critiques and comments on the design of the games he plays and besides that I only know of one or two other decent Let's Play channels but they don't provide much in terms of actual analysis, just commentary. AFAIK Alpha Beta Gamer covers short indie/horror games like Manly does, but uncommentated which is a rarity these days. The only other channels I could actually add to it would be from my far earlier post >>1692672, notably Design Frame since he's the most focused on game design/critique, though he does also strike me as a bit of a fag. >>1881012 >Matthewmatosis was good <Lolno, he was always a worthless redditor on par with NeverKnowsBest, only way you could have gone lower was to pick Jacob Geller. Your opinion is terrible and you formatted your post like a retard.
