Today I'm going to explain why Trench crusade is a trainwreck of titanic proportions and why it’s the definition of grimdrep and reddit as a whole or it’s /r/atheism subreddit, so sit down this will take a read anons.
>Why do you refer to it as grimderep anon?
Because it tries larping as grimdark despite having no understanding of what the term entails, for one TC’s lore states that Humanity has been fighting for its life for 800 years, since the crusade and subsequent opening of the gates of hell into the mortal realm. But as you can see from TC’s official map, Hell only has the territories of the Eastern Roman Empire, the Levant, Yugoslavia, Egypt, Libya, parts of Saudi Arabia, southern Spain along with a tip of Morocco and a random area of northern Europe, where the portal randomly opens whenever. This map doesn’t show an immense 800 year struggle of humanity against the forces of evil, but a map that at best shows 80 years of conflict.
>But the Demons make up for power what they lack in territory anon!
Fun fact most of the Demons are infighting in Hell over who gets to conquer Earth and the forces of evil in Trench Crusade, are mortal heretics who fight for hell and the various demonic lords. But what makes it reddit edginess is that any human, who wishes to join hell must go to the gates of Hell and enter it, then go to Hell and get out to be permitted to be part of Hell’s legions. But where it continues the reddit grimdrep is that any mortals who get near the gate, immediately have their flesh melted to the bones, so only the most evil of the evil that hell recognizes can enter with no harm. THAT’S THE LEVEL OF EDGE WE’RE DEALING WITH HERE.
>Why don’t the Demons just field their own kind to fight on the front?
In TC’s lore due to the covenant which honestly is a dumber version of Diablo’s Angels and Demons pact to not directly interfere, Heaven nor Hell can directly fight on the Earth as if they do that breaks the covenant, which means Armageddon and forced drama why God or Heaven can’t help us. So in TC we aren’t even fighting hell just fucking reddit edgelords who are so evil that hell accepts them as fighters, who after 800 years haven’t made any real ground in this war.
>Where does it become /r/atheism the war game?
The devs claim that there are no good guys and that the Christians are just as bad as hell, due to the methods they use to survive. Yes the Christians who are fighting against hell trying to murderfuck them out of existence, are just as bad as objective evil who want to wipe Humanity out. Also the Muslim faction constantly blames Christans for the state of the world, since a band of templars who were corrupted by hell did the ritual that opened the gates. Due to the devs being Reddit they love to leave out why the Crusades started, but since that would require pointing out that Islamic armies wanted to conquer Europe, they’ll keep quiet since /r/atheism doesn’t like attacking anything that isn’t Christianity. They also state that this isn’t a Christian themed game despite having heavy themes of it.
>Why did they screech at 40k fans?
For those who aren’t familiar with the state I’ll give you a brief rundown, GW has been taken over by left wing idiots who’ve been fucking the lore with retcons to appeal to progressive leftists. Naturally many 40k fans wanted to find a new grimdark series to move onto, Trench Crusade appeared to be the perfect fit as it was a bleak christian themed game, about fighting hell in an alt WW1 setting. Made 40k fans drool in excitement as it seemed a genuine alternative to 40k appearned, so a hype train was made for TC as the discords were flooded with 40k fans. Most upcoming companies would be insanely happy and take this opportunity to strengthen the brand, but due to TC’s creators being Reddit leftist they had a meltdown over 40k fans due a large number of them leaning right, and Christians due to the reddit atheist DNA. Which led to the left wing mods banning a very large number of potential customers that would’ve spent thousands if they weren’t stupid leftists, who hated the exact demographic the game they were making attracted. TC triples down and defends the moderation’s 40k and Chrisitan mass ban, which drove down the massive hype they garnered. It was then dug up that TC’s creators were former Blizzard, WOTC and that TC was funded by 28-mag, which is an extremely left wing TableTop gaming magazine group. Who due their own retardation went masks off too early, thus ruining their plans to garner a massive chunk in the /tg/ sphere from GW and BattleTech.
>How are they doing now?
Currently the left wing drones in the TableTop scene are shilling super hardcore across Reddit, 4chan, Youtube, Twitter and at conventions. But, in a massive twist of irony the very left they shilled for is calling them Eurocentric racists for the game’s European focused setting. Expect the Left wingers in TableTop in the coming months to years to try, and make this the left’s version of 40k.
>But isn’t GW infested by left wingers anon?
Yes but much of the fanbase is very right wing or Libertarian and GW, still can’t fully pozz as much as they'd like without taking a major financial hit. The Left wing part of TableTop wanted something pozzed from the ground up, but failed to understand that sjws don’t have the same buying power the right wing has. TC also failed to understand that since Trump’s recent re-election, much of the right in many of the entertainment spheres feel emboldened to go on the offensive against left wing creators. So they won’t forget the slight dealt against them.
>What now?
Point and laugh anons.
