/vst/ General Anonymous 04/16/2025 (Wed) 10:17:43 Id: f56b4d No. 1095464
A general thread for all related to strategy games. Modding threads, Paradox threads, /mbg/, and the like are all welcome to post here since /vst/ was a slow board. In recent news that I know of >Starsector update expanding end game content recently released >various mechanic showcases for EU5 >teasers for HoI4 mods, chiefly TFR.
>>1095464 Is this where /gsg/ finally ends up? It's final resting place?
>>1095527 /vst/ is a comfy board suitable for grand strategy.
I miss my /egg/ and /vst/bros...
(461.51 KB 2480x1080 1742404591745491.png)

>>1096038 Me too. I wanted to ask about modding in a religion in Anbennar.
>>1095464 There was a general strategy thread if you searched. Bit whatever.

I miss /domg/ where's blitzmin now?
>>1095464 I love TFR, is there an idea of when 1.1 is coming out? or is it still unknown.
Anyone here still plays Europe Universalis:Rome? I'm using the Epigony Mod and it's actually fun to see this obscure fusion of Crusader Kings +EU. The big problem is that it crashes alot. Any solutions to the problem?
>>1096279 I don't know. Hopefully other anons make their way here. /domg/ was one of the few reasons I kept visiting that site.
what do i do now that /gsg/ is dead. they took everything from me
You keep the traditions alive anon, no matter how fucking retarded they were
>>1097196 >>1096279 I'm down for a game if you start a new one
This board being slower and there being a dedicated gacha board could mean /ssg/ and /mbg/ can survive again.
>>1097627 If you can find gather all of those from other altchans that is.
Anyone here still play FOTS? How do you deal with enemy naval spam as Choshu?

My starsector thread....
>>1107363 Right here! >>1108409 Talk about your run!
>>1096279 >>1097196 /domg/ was a good one. Maybe I'll get to play an actual game of 6 now.
Not sure if I should stick to the pre-existing RTS/Strategy thread or go to the /vst/ refugee thread, regardless, any fellow line battlers?
>>1108545 What Game is that?
>>1110153 'Lines of Battle', it's a free web/mobile game that's in active development (beta)
>>1110176 Thank you, I will check it out.
>>1110176 I dont know what happened but I got crushed
>>1110640 Happens to everyone, even the #1 ranked player (ecu) gets crushed every now and then. I'll just redirect you to the tips I made on another thread, in the meanwhile, enjoy some webms i made before the exodus >>1100288
>>1095464 Where is my starsector bros at? Just finished that black science man with the Planet of the Apes hairdo to get that Mk. 1 Onslaught from the Abyss and I chickened out of the Threat fight. Where do i go from here? Disappointed the hegemonkies are not constantly harassing me over having a legendary ship unlike the ziggy.
is gee ess gee here i'm too afraid to look at the catalog i think i saw an anime girl
Favourite HOI4 mod? Mine is either TFR or KX

>>1110668 This looks very interesting. I'm gonna try it soon. How do the charges and melee work? Because I'm that melee monkey that does charges wherever possible, be it Battlefield 1 or Ultimate General. >>1113772 >i think i saw an anime girl I know. It's glorious.
>>1113950 from what i have seen while playing, it works best with cavalry ( 2 or more) overwhelming single targets, using full armies against other full armies usually ends in both sides getting destroyed.
>>1113772 They're over on the sharty
i don't believe you
>>1097196 >Dominions lol imagine buying(Yes, most of /domg/ are buyfags) the same fucking game, over and over again

So now that the dust has settled, we all blame Czar for this, right?
>>1115022 For the mod schism? and trying to monetize TFR? Yeah. His Twitter was really funny though
>>1113950 >>1113965 Directly from the wiki (written by one of the dev 'Hawke', who is the #24 ranked player in the game) >There are three forms of combat in the game: melee, fire, and charge. Melee and fire deal damage continuously throughout a turn, either when units are making physical contact or when within the range of an infantry battalion or battery of guns. >A unit gains its charge bonus after sustained movement and will inflict damage based on the charge bonus when making melee contact with an enemy unit. Keep in mind, stopping or making sharp turns may cause a unit to lose charge bonus. >Charge damage is based on the following formula: >Damage = Charge bonus x (Charge resistance - Charge Penetration). Infantry and cavalry have 100% Charge Resistance above 115 Organization, enabling them to completely repel the charge of any unit that lacks charge penetration. Charge Resistance then decays at a rate of 2% per 1 org lost, until reaching 0 at 65 Organization. Guard, Cuirassier, and Lancer can make some headway against organized units thanks to their Charge Penetration stat, but it is nonetheless better to charge units that have become disorganized. tl;dr is to shoot at the enemy until they get halfway or near halfway disorganized, then charge with your inf + cav, even if it's straight into the middle of their line

>>1113860 For me it's TFR, can't wait for 1.1. Apparently we're getting unique post reunification content for all the tags with content as well.
>>1115369 Do you know if Atomwaffen content will stay the same?
(92.30 KB 1832x1920 17198438943257384954.jpg)

>>1115389 Honestly not sure, don't know if it's true or not but I remember in the /vst/ thread there was a "dev" saying we'd get unique post reunification content for all three paths. Accelerationist would remain kicking off a nuclear apocalypse but I think he said Satanists would do a world conquest with the goal of mind raping everyone/killing everyone's souls. I don't think he ever said what the Christian path would entail.
>>1115461 ATW Christian path being a great World-encompassing Crusade could be fun.
>>1114542 Why not zzzchan? There's a comfy /gsg/ thread on there and this site's barely better than 4cuck.

I'm completely out of the loop for last year and a half (which is about the time I've been wageslaving) anything big civ or city-building related in this time?
Don't know if any of you can help me out. But I've been looking for games that mix Strategy/Tactical layers into their gameplay. Something like conquering territories, enhancing them, establishing diplomacy with other factions and having your own large roster of characters which you garrison in areas/send on missions/deploy to control in combat. I would preferably have the tactical combat be on a grid. I've been wanting to play more games that have this sort of mixture but the most I've come close to it Long War Of The Chosen with mods to add factions and diplomacy. Thanks in advance for any recs.
>>1141023 Endless Legend of course. Endless space 2 is good as well but combat is largely automated. Age of wonders series, the newer ones pretty much take cues from nu-com for combat mechanics. The old HoMM games if age doesn't filter you. Songs of conquest is largely a HoMM clone that came out last year. Chaos galaxy is a bit basic in terms of mechanics but fits the bill. Brigandine is focused more on it's monster units than it's heroes but you do still need them to lead said monsters. If turn based combat isn't essential to you then I'd also add Eagarlnia and Lost Technology to my list, but I'll admit it's a stretch. I just like to shill those on occasion.

They're both extremely dangerous when used properly, they're both extremely tanky and deal a fuckton of damage and any place where you don't have one of your own guards/cuirassier or a superiority in firepower will definitely get pushed hard >Also how shit are these guys? For 25 more manpower than a hussar you get a slower, less organized, less capable unit that deals less than half the damage of a militiaman's musket, and all this without the range. This board is weird guys it said I had a 7 day ban even though I aint ever posted. We need a /vst/
The more hours I log into Starsector, the more I become biased towards High Tech ships. Seriously, why does Low Tech feel like shit, especially for player fleet? You usually take losses and lose CR from damage on Low Tech ships even in encounters you win decisively, while High Tech ships with a Steady officer generallg don't die unless you're trying to fight something way above your weightclass.
Does anyone have a recommended province development mod for EU4? The vanilla one is pretty bad, but I tried the Dev Points mod and the Development Expanded Lite mod, but both doesn't quite scratch that itch.

So what do we think about Ziggy compared to the Shrouded? How are they related? I feel like the Guardian derelict drone is going to end up being relevant in the end somehow, it can't be a coincidence that domain probes have pieces missing, send out signals, have motes, and then the guardian drone and the Ziggy both look more like creatures than artificial constructions. I find the lore super interesting but it's also getting kind of annoying just how many questions are unanswered at this point. Reminds me of Underrail.
>>1198350 Maybe the Zig accidentally gave a Shrouded an opportunity to slip into normal space or something? Ziggurats in real-life were meant to house gods iirc, and it'd explain why it looks similar to a Shrouded Maw (without the spoopy red-and-black fog). >Guardian It's mainly a Master of Orion reference so I wouldn't be surprised if it just gets ignored in wider lore, but maybe I'm a bit too pessimistic.
>>1095464 So where did everyone go? this chan has a miniscule amount of posters Btw, the superstate decisions on cwe or mhm are so shit, you either do nothing and go all the way taking those stupid decisions to form a supernation and get no cores at all outside your territory or you force form and can't get the decisions to gain accepted cultures and core the provinces you took, I waste two days playing to find it

It's plenty active but without having people just treating it like a chatroom. >>1200522 More research. Always more research. More CP. Always more CP. More MC cap, but not always more MC. Overall it looks like you're actually doing a decent job. Obviously can't really go wrong with grabbing more Mars bases. Only thing I'd say is to build research stations in LEO, especially xeno labs, and to prioritize xeno researches. Getting EU + China is quite nice. EU will be your early-mid game base and China will become your mid-late game base. Getting your foot in the door on China for free that early is actually super good. You should definitely be trying to secure that. Though you already somewhat misused the EU. Due to the way the economy works you should build MC in lots of smaller countries first and then merge them into larger countries. The EU is the best for this because it has lots of small, wealthy countries which also start with the ability to build MC thanks to the EU having a space program.
>>1169705 That's a comfy partition you have there. Did you culture convert the koreans?
Anybody know if Ted K is getting a path in TFR, or are they avoiding it because of Extremis Ultimis? I asked elsewhere and was told it probably wouldn't happen. >>1144463 No Swiss, no Bornholm, no Belgians or Dutch, no Krakow, no Baltics, no Nancy, but you're doing pretty well given the date. You can paint the map in Europe as much as you want. I'd boost your literacy by resolving the Balkans with a big Yugoslavia then releasing Hungary though. >>1159387 That can happen if you're on a VPN node. >>1169705 If you're going for a LARP, why give Outer Manchuria's Pacific coast, Jilin, and Liaoning to anyone other than Japan? Why make an Indochinese Republic rather than another monarchy for/aligned to the Emperor? Why not finish taking the Philippines? Are you going to conquer the East Indies? Will you make a Tibetan puppet? Why is Manchuria not its own puppet? Will you try to make an Indian puppet? Who owns Yakutia, Australia, and Hawaii? Other than these questions, this looks pretty cool. It just doesn't make sense to me why a Japan which has subjugated China wouldn't push to dominate the Pacific and wouldn't break up the Han and Manchu. What's the map mod?
>>1200244 Everyone just fractured into different places. 4chan was a huge hub and nexus that kept fueling itself for more and more activity. There's simply no easy replacement.

>>1206658 >Anybody know if Ted K is getting a path in TFR Apparently he's in the files as a general/advisor for GMAC, which is strange since Mike Ma's Cascadia is right there and he even has the Cascadia tree on his helmet. Also the prison he was being held at is closer to Cascadia than GMAC so it'd make more sense for him to head there instead.
what country is the best to balkanize the entire world within hoi4? i know that mapuche chile can fragment the entire american continent but i want to do the balkanization as fascists.
>>1206928 >he's with the GMAC Thanks for the info, but what the fuck are the devs thinking? How do a bunch of long dissolved LARPers across the country manage to break him out of the super-max prison? It'd be better if Cascadia broke him out, he has a dynamic with the leaders there as they try to either put him in a position where he's the leader, an advisor, or a propaganda tool, or they try to/do get rid of him after he becomes increasingly provocative, and he runs to the GMAC if it still exists and he's still alive to escape from them after bombing their leader or Cascadia has capitulated and he isn't killed immediately or put under sufficient security while awaiting the death penalty. Despite this, Ted might revere whoever broke him out. After his lockup, the man was almost schizophrenic in how his ideas should be put into practice. He fluctuated between a rejection of the praxis outlined in IS&IF (party politics) for small group large scale terrorism and an embrace of said praxis. Regardless of what was to be done, he always wanted a Lenin to break him out of prison and restart the FC. Ma has always been an outspoken supporter of Ted, andhim having to grapple with whether he worships the ground Ted walks on now that he's free or trying to contain him would make for some fun stuff. In Ecofascism: An Aberrant Branch of Leftism, Ted overtly calls for miscegenation for "strategy" and says that Eco-Fascists are his enemy as it can never work because firstly, Eco-Fascism believes in the restraint rather than demolition of technology and cannot maintain such a thing at the global scale as a rational human-guided society is impossible, and secondly, it cannot achieve the worldwide appeal necessary for technology to be destroyed because it promotes competition between races. Maybe Ma could send Ted to China to get him out of his hair by blowing up Loji (even though a rational Loji would negate Ted's criticism of rational civilization management), reconfigure Linkola's idea of warfare to make it racist and/or make the pro-white virus meme real to prove that an ethnocentric strategy is possible, convince Ted that due to climate change a White Nationalist outcome is the only possible one or that Whites are the only race compatible with intentional Primitivism, or make a misguided agreement with Atomwaffen to nuke the world to bring back nature.
>>1207273 >How do a bunch of long dissolved LARPers across the country manage to break him out of the super-max prison? Well to be fair all the long dissolved or micro LARPer groups in TFR are either back in action or have ballooned in popularity, also we don't know if they broke him out or if he just managed to escape during the initial chaos of the civil war starting. But I agree him being in Cascadia makes more sense than GMAC, hope they change it in the actual release.
>>1206928 What the hell is GMAC?
>>1207760 Green Mountain Anarchist Commune, they're one of the 2ACW tags getting content in 1.1.
>>1207876 Didn't Ted despise leftists
>>1207899 Yes. In The Truth About Primitive Life: A Critique of Anarchoprimitivism, Ted lays out his criticisms of the ideology (at the time) as being lazy and reactionary against industrial the myth of progress, romanticist about gender roles in primitive society, obsessed with the industrial concept of leisure, romanticist about wild living, deluded in its ideas of primitive society on post-industrial primitive societies, romanticist about primitive violence, leftist in its defense of primitive cultures, romanticist in accepting the concept of primitive communism, romanticist in its treatment of animals, romanticist and selective about a lack of structure and racism in primitive societies, and a cult of delusional denial backed by leftist academia, specifically anthropology. In essence, he fashioned himself as a Marx decrying Utopian Socialists, even referring to anprims as utopians, while also saying he agrees with their general goals. Since 2008, there has been plenty of advancement in anprim discourse in relation to Ted K's criticism, causing polarization on both ends and the rise of Eco-Fascism as many who agreed with his criticisms became rightists or were so beforehand, but the issue remains that utopians still exist. The original GMAC were utopians and pseudo-socialist, if not outright socialist, bums and thieves. They unofficially dissolved right before Ted K's essay on Anarchoprimitivism and were living proof of his arguments against anprims. The GMAC's final conclusions were that Black Bloc mass organization is necessary and that actions like Ted's only hurt the cause of Anarchism. For the sake of comparison, you can think that the GMAC would tell any aspiring revolutionary to steal Picassos and talk about Dadaism. FC would tell the same aspiring revolutionary to cause nuclear meltdowns at power plants as long as they also blew up any backup generators. The closest people to Ted around the time of his bombings and the GMAC's activity would be the ELF, who are pro-environmental leftists, not pro-human primitivists, and work with the ALF. So far, AWD as depicted in TFR is closer to Ted than the GMAC in TFR.

>>1154551 So far I have seen a lot of people go quality over quantity, usually in favor of expensive cannons or cavalry. In one match it was so bad I outnumbered him 17k to 11k. After his line routed I just send in mass infantry to bumrush the cannons. 12lbs deal massive casualties at canister range but they could only break the first wave before being overwhelmed..
>>1213549 It's a balancing game of tradeoffs and playstyles just like anything, really The best unit vs isolated artillery is still a cavalry thanks to their insane speed but infantry will definitely do well in a pinch, especially when you consider that artillery loses effectiveness the more disorganized their targets are I can't comment much on the quality vs quantity since it's down to playstyles and shit, it definitely sucks to see your constantly units shatter against an advancing guard that simply won't break, or conversely when the enemy seem to have a limitless number of troops against your ever retreating line, but the real game is often not decided by quality or quantity alone. The real game is decided on timing, terrain, positioning, and decision-making - strategic thinking; how much terrain are you willing to give up/fight for, are you willing to strike early or will you wait to get everyone ready, will you commit your reserves or will you hold them back, a full on charge or a feint, which units to prioritize and which ones to be sacrificed, etc. An extremely good general/player like ecu knows how to do these things + how to micro, if you watch his games you can see that he knows how to do these things, which is why he can wrestle victory from what appears to be certain defeat and make light work of players that would dominate the rest of the userbase
>>1198350 >domain probes have pieces missing, send out signals The implication is simply that the probes, survey ships, and motherships possess a warning system of sorts. The hyperwave ping simply notifies the other Explorarium derelicts that something managed to trash them, and thus to manufacture defences, while shifting internal masses are a sign that they have drones in a ready-to-deploy mode. >have motes, and then the guardian drone and the Ziggy both look more like creatures than artificial constructions Only the Ziggy has motes, though, and the Threat shows how weird and organic a manufacturing error can look. The Guardian will probably remain a mystery, but not a spooky mystery. >>1199267 Weird as it may sound, I do hope it gets ignored, because most enigmas lose their draw when they're revealed. Kudos to David for actually managing the opposite, making the Threat even more interesting than keeping it vague and in the background of the lore.

If things got worse for him, he could likely find himself in any party or side. >>1232857 TFR (The Fire Rises), a modern day mod that's actually fun and starts in 2020. Everything is worse than in reality. Imagine if every alarmist thing was true at once. The Saudis fall into civil war. !George Floyd (he hadn't died when they were writing it, but someone will probably mod it in) riots spiral out of control. Climate migrants are going to become a problem within a few years. China and Japan really are about to kill each other. The US really does fall into a civil war. AI advancement is accelerated. Corona really is as bad as people said it would be. Russia really does try to take Europe (again, made before the Russia-Ukraine conflict). All sorts of things happen. It's a world where the dynamic historicity of the pre-millennia still exists. >>1233599 A Capeshit April Fools mode would be pretty funny. Does anyone still play Imperator? What do you think of Gift of the Nile and the new AI updates coming to Invictus? What are your thoughts on megacampaigns?

Looking at the TFR super events, I think the 3rd Gulf War would be a good event that precludes the 2ACW.
>>1261346 I'm playing it now. Didn't know about that. Thanks for mentioning it.
>>1294523 No problem. If you didn't know about Invictus, then you should also look into Virtual Limes, the Better Blobs version of Crisis of the Third Century, and the Timeline Extension for Invictus. If you didn't know about Gift of the Nile, it's something to look into but may not be worth a full playthrough of just yet because it's still in development and is a mega-alt-hist mod in the same sense as Divergences of Darkness, if not moreso. However, it certainly makes things more entertaining.
>>1294545 > the Better Blobs version of Crisis of the Third Century, and the Timeline Extension for Invictus. These aren't compatible, right? Does the latter also punish blobbing?
>>1234097 go test it then get back to us with the results.

>>1305239 >These aren't compatible, right? BetterBlobs Crisis of the Third Century requires regular Crisis of the Third Century, and regular Crisis of the Third Century requires Timeline Extension for Invictus. BetterBlobs Crisis of the Third Century reduces the end date from 1229 to 361, but you can press Continue at the end screen. The creator of BetterBlobs Crisis of the Third Century recommends doing so if you aren't playing a megacampaign. >Does the latter also punish blobbing? Christianity and the Germanic migrations happen, among other things, so yes, but not as much as Crisis of the Third Century. You'll also want INR - Invictus, Fix Scorched Earth (Invictus), Imperator: Invictus - More Cultural Names, Releasable Governors for Invictus, Multiculti, and Culture Conflation for Invictus. Dynastic Country Names, Simple Notifications (read the description), 2.0 Trade League Cities Affordable, and Micro QoL Changes aren't bad to have too. Lucky Nations, Antagonist Nations, and Bad Omens are recommendations I have to give with caution since the first two make some nations stronger than others, optionally randomly, and Bad Omens changes the outcome of Omens from "Good" every time to a range of "Very Bad" to "Very Good," depending on some math explained in the discussions section of that mod. Adopt Local Culture is an edge case mod that I don't know if I would recommend to anyone, but it can be nice to have. There are some other, smaller mods that I'd recommend to enthusiasts, but it seems like you're new to the game. Remember to keep load order in mind.
>>1307373 >Invictus >INR - Invictus >Timeline Extension for Invictus >TE: Crisis of the Third Century >BetterBlobs >Virtual Limes >Culture Conflation >Multiculti >Everything else Is this about right?
>>1308042 >Invictus >INR - Invictus >Culture Conflation (for Invictus) >Multiculti >Invictus - More Cultural Names >Timeline Extension for Invictus >Virtual Limes >Everything Else >Crisis of the Third Century >BetterBlobs That's how I had it, at least. I haven't played in a little while.
The political situation for Japan in TFR doesn't make much sense. I don't know why a LDP with complete free reign over Japan and Asia would only be able to integrate the already Leftist-leaning Komeito, especially if Abe was assassinated, and for a mod where Atomwaffen can have real political power, I don't know why the Anti-NHK Party wouldn't be more popular for the mod's proposed idea of a "Civil Coalition" against the LDP.
So, EU5... It looks good.
>>1333478 My opinion hasn't changed. It's just a vessel for M&T4.
>>1333478 And like Vicky 3, it will be locked behind the AVX2 instruction set and I won't be able to play it. At least this means EU4's development is finally over, so I can now pirate the "complete" game and play it, having only played the original release before.
How do you guys deal with suddenly being attacked by multiple nations? I'm playing Europa Universalis: Rome using the Reign of the Ancients Mod and I'm expanding as one of the many Germanic tribes to form a Germanic nation. Unfortunately, my only ally suddenly breaks from me and I suddeny get attacked by 4 tribes, each commanding 8-9 men armies commanded by generals that have a 8-9 martial skill while I have a single 12-men army commanded by a 8-martial general. Currently, I'm relying reducing their numbers through attrition while they besiege one of my territories (the mod reduced the supply lines to make war challenging) but I'm none too sure about my success.
It's unorthodox to the crowd here, but I've been playing Campaign Trail mods and think that some of them are pretty good. American Carnage is made by a libtard, but what can be done in it is really fun. During my game, I >Kept Bannon >Left NAFTA >Left Europe >Left NATO >Left Afghanistan <Didn't Pull Out of Iraq (Wanted to Leave Europe) >Worked With Assad >Defended Confederate Heritage After Charlottesville >Fully Got Rid of Obamacare >Broke Up Amazon >Declared a National Emergency on Immigration and Sent in the Troops >Declared an Insurrection by Summer of Love and Sent in the Troops >Crippled the Blue Wave >Implemented Chinese/Filipino-style Executions for Drug Dealers >Avoided Impeachment >Declared Total Lockdown Before Corona Arrived, Preventing the Corona Economy >Weaponized Leaks Instead of Getting My Pillow Endorsement >Pushed Heritage Society Judges >Let Advisors Exterminate Radical Islam >Disseminated Info on Twitter Instead of Operation Warp-Speed >Used Leaks Instead of Leaving Twitter >Completely Transformed the RNC >Pushed Extreme Deregulation >Pushed Extreme Income Tax Elimination >Avoided All Scandals >Killed the Department of Education My goals were to get as many wins as possible, completely disregard generals, and be as populist as possible. I won 327 electoral votes and the popular vote. I won the entire South except for Virginia, and the entire Rust Belt except for Illinois. I even won Maine and New Hampshire. This led to what I'd call the "meme" result. When it came to the Democrats, I faced off against Bloomberg, who won 211 electoral votes. For third parties, my opponents were Kanye West and John McAfee. Kanye and McAfee won 1.4% and 1.0% of the popular vote, respectively, and this is probably why I won at all. The 2024 election is Abrams versus Vance, and a major event of the 2020 Administration is the federalized national guard being used in full force against Anti-Israel protesters at Columbia. From what I remember, the 2024 election has Abrams on the left, implying she won against Vance, but this mod is made by the same fag whose "historical outcomes" see Trump lose against everyone except Hillary. I think that, historically speaking, this might be considered a bad outcome. I never went hard on protectionism. I simply synthesized a strange America that's a mishmash of the 80s, 90s, and 00s. Considering how popular presidents have historically done things in their second terms, especially Obama, maybe the 2020 Administration finished the job and made sense of it all. At least I didn't achieve a landslide victory, which sees even worse outcomes. >>1333478 I've been cautious on anything attached to Johan since Imperator, but what I saw in the initial dev diaries seemed good. What do you like about it?
The TFR Rebalance War Submod updated, and it loudly proclaimed that China and Russia have hidden bonuses while their enemies have hidden maluses. Additionally, most African, European, and Asian countries now have their research slots re-added and had their "Disable AI Production" flag turned off. Unfortunately, the mod maker has said he'll keep nerfing Russia until it's as hard to win as Russia as it is as NATO in base TFR. Presumably, this applies to China as well. I think this is stupid. One of the main themes of TFR is that non-unified groups like the EU and PDTO are cumbersome to operate in practice because of their lack of unity. >>1356722 I've never played EU: Rome, but I usually go against nations attacking me in order of strength, starting with the weakest. I also use terrain to my advantage and try to split stacks.
>>1376381 Thank you for the advice. I managed to defeat the armies and almost managed to unite the Germanic lands. Until a random event occured where I suddenly 4 province broke away and became independent...
>>1356766 Gotta admit, if Trump had done this all in his first term he'd be compared to the likes of great American presidents of all time.
If anyone's still checking out this thread. How do you handle EU3's Minting and Inflation? Do I just grit my teeth and hope I'm successful enough to reduce my inflation costs in the long run or do I rely on loans?
>>1455419 >If anyone's still checking out this thread. i think most went back to trannychan, it's not like der jannen were actively suppressing /vst/. maybe go lurk or something or wait the retarded posting timer they changed.
>>1308042 Sorry for the late notice, but there's one specific modification you should make to BetterBlobs. Go to zzz_tribal_flavour_events_c3rd.txt and dummy out tribal_flavour_events.451 and tribal_flavour_events.4206. They are a fucking pain because they make you and the AI release tribal vassals when you gain any land which the mod defines as inhospitable. This causes masses of unnecessary tribal vassals.
Since there's now a Bronze Age to Imperator converter, I've decided to try out Bronze Age Reborn, and I have to say that it's not very good. It's the closest thing you can get to a high performance Imperator sandbox, but it has basically none of the QoL features and entirely none of the flavor of Invictus, despite being maintained by the same lead developer. The technologies aren't even changed. Without an end date, you can just keep going until you WC or get bored, and it's starting to look like I'm going to WC with Egypt's 11th Dynasty. Speaking of Egypt, there are neither dynasty mechanics nor missions to reform the Egyptian faith so it's more warlike nor events regarding Atenism. You just play Egypt like any other nation, but you have a handful of short mission trees. Neither the Hittites nor the migrant hordes of the Bronze Age Collapse appear, so nothing interesting really happens. I wish the converter and mod would ape mechanics and flavor from Crisis of the Third Century and Gift of the Nile.
I've been playing Imperator with Chaotic AI turn on as Carthage. I've reached a point where I don't know what I'm doing anymore. I conquered all of Italy, most of Iberia, half of Egypt, all of North Africa, Judea, and the Sinai, and I'm integrating a tribe that owns 3/4 of Gaul and all of England and Wales. I have about ten accepted cultures, which might be too many, but research is going well, and I accepted them to gain their unique techs. The Macedonians are my biggest present enemy and are blocking me from completing my mission tree because they hold Greece and Anatolia, but I only have 150 years before the C3C starts. I'm considering decentralizing my empire after I break the Macedonians. Here are a few things I've learned from this run: The mod "Realistic Tribes" is completely useless if you plan on making tribal vassals. It causes their national civilization to tick down every month, which would force them to migrate if they ever actually moved their capitals. Instead, I had to cheat a few times because they would practically never consider, and especially not finish, reforming. You should watch out for the mod "Paler Romans". It completely fucks up the history files. Characters are shuffled everywhere. I learned that the hard way on some failed runs. If you're playing with Border Cleaner, lower z_border_cleaner_manual_size_threshold in z_border_cleaner_values.txt to 1. Add always = no under is_party_type = democratic_party in senate_objectives_generic.txt, senate_objectives_roman.txt, and senate_objectives_car.txt. Realistically, the democrats wouldn't push for expanded citizenship in almost any nation, and citizenship in IR doesn't do what it did historically. Playing as a republic is more stable than playing as a monarchy. If you don't plan on integrating the majority culture of a city with a capture event, or don't plan on releasing a nation which will own that city anytime soon, just destroy the city. There are typically plenty of other cities in the area.
