>>1270616 Fair! For your question, I have not played with games on 2D field yet with 3D graphics. I meddled a bit with DKC, but I have not gone deep enough into it to say I've played and enjoyed it. The one game that follows your OP I believe I've played the heaviest was Ori and the Blind Forest. While it is one of the easiest Metroidvania, it is well made and polished enough to keep me entertained the fifty hours I poured into it. I'm actually surprised that there are not more Metroidvanias with 3D graphics. I think Bloodstained has 3D as well as the recent Metroid: Dredd, but I have only played the beginning part of Bloodstained and none of Dredd (Never bought a Switch and probably never will). The other well know modern Metroidvanias are all in 2D, like Luna Nights and Hollow Knight.

I live the mook and would like it to make a comeback. You're also forgetting >Killer Instinct >Clay Fighters (lol) >arguably the 2D MK games (actually were real people, and a few stop motion puppets, but beyond that the process and end product was basically the same) If you're expanding it to backgrounds and not just sprites then it was a hell of a lot of games.

>>1313501 The bosses in 1 are decent but they're repetitive. You fight a green hopping gnawty and then a brown one. There's two bird heads. Two bees (iirc). The only really uniquely good boss is k-rool.
Does Isometric count? Or 3D models being used for 2D sprites. If it's the latter, Tooth and Tail did extremely well with making 3D models look like sprites while being isometric.

>>1311954 I don't like how you have to pay to save in 2. That just bothers me the whole time and it makes me not feel comfortable saving or taking a break. Seems small, but significantly decreases the fun.
