>The part that kills me is how irrelevant Shura became
Me too!! Polaris is still getting art while Shura with her fat thighs, can't find a single picture.
>I think they were so damn worried Polaris would come off as a Charlotta retread but they're very different people
I see it more as them taking a page out of Hollywoods book, and turning likeable characters into stepping stones for an incompetent retard.
>it felt extremely stupid to kill Polaris off
Not just for killing her off; the reason why I see Shura as so fucking incompetent, that she's not worth a single exp point, is because she's been the tactician of her country for enough time that she should've steamrolled the opposition who are controlled by a King and Tactician who will tell their one man army of a hulk, who has been single-handedly winning their war. that he's worthless trash and they refuse fulfill their side of the deal and give him status. To really paint the picture of the extreme retardation that Shura's opposition spat in Luhua (their Hulks) face with zero body guards or knights.
>considering how shameless the game is with alts
For a specific small group that they've done to death. You'd think they'd at least throw a bone at Io, Rackam, and Eugen, who all practically have nothing compared to Rosetta and Katalina.
>RL summer event bullshit
I liked that fever dream but it will always be one of the most surprising things they've pulled, not only for it being something completely unexpected by every player but for the fact they didn't use it to put in a playable Belial.
>Game needs a spiritual successor bad so they can hopefully make fewer of the mistakes they did with Grubble
I just want a fantasy game out of the Japs that doesn't devolve into techno magic; why is it so hard for them to grasp simple magic?

>Wasn't Game of Thrones reaching its peak popularity around that time, too? Maybe that fat fuck Martin's penchant for killing people off that had importance played a role
Yeah, you shouldn't kill off all the likable characters. They leaned too hard into what was one of the big things people enjoyed about the show, the uncertainty from the characters not having plot armor. I myself quit when they put Frankenstein's monster in.
>Works well in a dark fantasy setting, but a terrible idea for something more lighthearted like GBF.
Ever since the Code Geass collab, they've been jumping back and forth between lighthearted and dark. The last major arc in the main story was getting really dark by the time it finished.
>I got into this series through the first fightan
They need to stop ignoring all the best characters, when they add people to the roster; the most interesting character in it is Meg, with Illa coming in second and will be raped with the translation because she's a hard as nails drill sergeant who becomes a woman who likes sweets and wants to get married, when she's off duty.
>if Plantinum didn't explode all those years ago we might actually have the reality where GBF is more than a gacha and a few sidegames
Anon, Platinum is Platinum, Cygames is Cygames. Cygames are cheap assholes who seemingly always fuck up their own shit; hell practically every game they've made has had to be redone a second time before it became a hit. They even retreaded the early main story with the anime instead of having fun with their gacha choices.
