Smash Remix Anonymous 06/26/2025 (Thu) 18:45:35 Id: a5470e No. 1506256
Cool fan hack of Smash 64 that adds a bunch of new characters, stages and modes. 2.0 just dropped and added Peach, Lanky Kong and Crash Bandicoot. Basically this is just Smash if it was good and didn't fucking waste our time like Ultimate did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-iLvy0w8hs What do you think of this, gamers?
Downloaded it the day they released it. Been keeping up with the updates too, it's so cool how the characters all have unique ways of fighting, and it really is a top tier hack. It's hard to choose which character I prefer the most. >Samus because I love her slow and bulky ranged style of fighting >Mewtwo because he was my favorite in Melee >Marina because I like how she controls mid-air
A while back this was made. It's just a shame we don't have any moves or animations for her. I'm so close...
Looks really cool. No idea what crash is doing here but I like everything else.
>>1506256 Dark Samus is such an eyesore. I get that she was just an easy clone from the early days but the game generally focusing on N64 era content makes her stand out in a bad way, same with Lucas's GBA design. Something neat about the Crash stage is how they managed to get functional stage transitions going on ala Brawl. The echo fighter slots are a good way of addressing the select screen space while making everyone easily accessible. HE
>>1506256 I'm glad for the compromise where they didn't remove the anachronistic characters but hid them from the menu and moved them to a bonus category, because I like Dark Samus and didn't want to see her removed. Also having Young Link is very welcome because Adult Link is so friggin slow. Still think it's dumb they never added James Bond or Doom 64 Doomguy seeing as both have stages in the game.
>>1506393 actually correction, Perfect Dark has a stage but not Goldeneye iirc, but Goldeneye's music can play on it.
>>1506393 There's no way he's gonna be left out, he's such an obvious addition. You can even have his alt colors be different Bonds as it was originally planned for Goldeneye.
>>1506406 Well, we're a year or two away from any other updates, so you'll be waiting a while.
Bond is 75 year old literal baby boomer shit and anyone who wants him in is an extremely old faggot with liverspots. Perfect Dark was the better game in every way and Goldeneye aged like milk.

What kind of cosmic horror tier black magic are they using to keep Nintendo off their back? >>1506457 If it wasn't for Goldeneye 007, you wouldn't have Perfect Dark. Perfect Dark, while fun, still felt like sloppy seconds.
>>1506482 I don't think Nintendo has any recourse here because it's just a hack. It's not even a fangame, it's just a modification of one of their existing games. They're probably seething about it. If they were able to do something they probably would have. >If it wasn't for Goldeneye 007, you wouldn't have Perfect Dark. As true as that is, Goldeneye still stinks and it's way overrated. I'd much rather have Joanna in the game than James Bond and I think she's more likely.

NO
>>1506482 >What kind of cosmic horror tier black magic are they using to keep Nintendo off their back? If Nintendo had any recourse against modifications to a game, romhacking in general would be dead. They probably have Japan's balls in a vice grip, but in the good ol' USA their crap normally doesn't fly.
>>1506482 No major promotion outside of Smash circles would be my guess, Nintendo might not even have them on their radar.
>>1507096 Nintendo always has everything on its radar. They don't even have to look hard themselves, they have a legion of stooges that do it for free.
