OPERATION MAX REVIVE
[Expand Post]Rebuild the board's userbase and activity through simple, but effective methods 1. Post across the entire board Activity creates activity. Use threads you like, make new ones if topics don't exist. Easy examples are Drawthreads and Friday Night threads, go request or draw something right now. 2. Recruit and recover lost or potential anons Use this site's OC and features to entice anons if necessary when recruiting, just inform that we are alive. Here's some sites and links with at least some confirmed anons that can be recruited again: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/8chotwheels https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SSAVCH https://steamcommunity.com/groups/video_games https://steamcommunity.com/groups/8chmohun https://steamcommunity.com/groups/8chan_monster https://steamcommunity.com/groups/GoodLuckEbolaChan https://steamcommunity.com/search/groups/#text=8ch.net https://steamcommunity.com/search/groups/#text=8chan Other sites that might yield fruitful results and have anons (art sites use an account so you can see 18+ content): https://www.deviantart.com/search?q=Vivian+James https://www.newgrounds.com/search/summary?suitabilities=etm&terms=Vivian%20James https://twitter.com/search?q=Vivian%20James&src=typed_query&f=image https://rpgcodex.net/ https://old.reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction/ Somewhere on Telegram Just searching up GG or 8chan-related terms on certain places/sites can get you possible results. 3. Make your own OC/Memes/Content Doesn't matter what it is even if its just simple edits or full-on drawings or webms, just make it and have fun. Ask in thread for software recs if necessary. 4. Encourage or create fun events, activities, projects, etc. Think things like 8chanmania, weekly streams, re-translation projects, demo days, or zzz's gaming magazine for example. If you want to do something, try making or reviving it, it can't hurt and these things are great for the board. 5. Use other boards All it takes for a board to grow is at least 2 dedicated anons using it. Don't be afraid to make a post, check places periodically, shill, or what have you. Don't force discussions to boards, just encourage the usage of them. 2. OPERATION TRAJAN: Collect and catalog all of the various localization and censorship accounts of past video games into a single repository from these sources: romhacking.net The_Cutting_Room_Floor/tcrf.net Segaretro.org https://redirect.invidious.io/channel/UCFItIX8SIs4zqhJCHpbeV1A Examples: http://archive.vn/XQOHW Sony's policies forces censorship; JP devs allegedly have to go through ENG approval process: https://archive.fo/awzFF - Japanese blog post about it: https://archive.fo/bF9bE Sony Japan President Says PS4 Censorship Policy Is To Match Global Standards And Protect Kids: https://archive.fo/U3GLa - Confirms censorship was deliberate: https://archive.fo/XgAgP - No rules for censorship policies, games judged case-by-case: https://archive.fo/37DhK - Marvelous partner starts petition against policy: https://archive.fo/rxQtf https://archive.fo/84UHo • Twitterfags: Tweet with Sony's stock code $SNE so that investors see your tweets and know you're pissed. • Consider spreading OP Timber materials to targets as well: http://archive.vn/URjtu ONGOING TASKS: A. PEAK IS BACK FR
I was expecting you to wait for a little while longer until we reached 700. I'm planning to celebrate by going to Five Guys and play Afterlife Empire, if I have the time to spare, but also watch the Airplay event hosted by the Society of Professional Journalists. Don't tell me you forgot about that too.

My benis in Viv's Bagina
>>1699367 Looks fine, but it doesn't look like it does anything with the 4th dimension. In understand that the last game was 3D, so the sequel got called 4D, but if you do give it that sort of name, I expect you do something more than a 3D platformer. It reminds me of those 7D cinemas that were a thing many years ago.
>Read meta thread, GG comes up a lot >Decide to check it out >Enter thread >Try to click archive links >archive.ph and .is are down Okay, fair enough, it happens that these occasionally have maintenance done on them. >Decide to click the wiki to see what information it has >Presented with the Internet equivalent of an archeological dig >Some links throw an Internal error That second one might be on me, but it seems a bit farfetched to look at the "How to Get Started" article, considering that this was last edited 2018. It also has the second video removed- sends the right message, sure, but perhaps not as eloquent as the video that existed. In every article that I could check, there seems to be a 5-6 year darkness. But that doesn't seem right, since this has been ongoing for a decade. It bothers me- what is the state of the board? How did that happen? It is like having the first twenty chapters of a book, then sixty chapters mysteriously vanished. Does any of the history matter, or is it a waste of time to bring up? But then, when is history and when is the current situation? Forgive me if I sound like I'm wasting time. I'm genuinely curious about what has gone on since it was last talked about when it was demonized by the mainstream.

Speaking of Five Guys. In culture whores news, Cracker Barrel "scrapped" rebranding. This likely means they're only keeping the old logo while continuing other plans. Such as aesthetically sterilizing locations by removing most antiques & keeping their bigoted DEI policies internally until they get sued into the ground.

>>1701516 Probably because back in the 360 days games were getting a lot easier and Dork Souls was the only game with a single difficulty rather than handholding the gamer into finishing the game. That and Dork Souls was one of the few Japanese games ot have a Steam port early on.

ANCHOR I'm about to try out what I had in mind for max revive. It's a bit strange, but I talked about it with Codexx, he thought it was interesting, and I suggested we trial it today in the thread, and he gave me permission to do so. Are anons ready to hear what I have to say?
>>1702219 I'm ready anon, I think. Not sure what's going to happen but I've been wondering what you've had planned since yesterday.
I hope everyone has been doing well. It's been a rough decade +1, and I'm glad to see dedicated anons still around. The events of this year seem to have taken anons by surprise, but I think the future of 8chan is very bright. I imagine most anons are unaware of the progress made in cryptography over the last five years. Many techniques are becoming practicable which may seem like science fiction to anons, especially involving ring signatures. There is something you can do now that I believe will help 8chan as a whole. It is my opinion that, counter-intuitively, one of the best things you can do for your anonymous imageboard today is to set up and post a public key. This will allow (you) and the site to take advantage of new cryptography. It is my opinion that anons doing so will help the long-term health of the site, as well as potentially allowing some unexpected features in the future, many of which will be very helpful for max revive in particular. So here's what I'm going to ask anons to do for this trial: >generate a public key and a file for it >sign a challenge file using that public key >verify both files and make sure they are what you want >post your key and the challenge file here in the thread as a reply to the anchor >>1702219 >download your key and challenge, and verify both again >if either the key or the challenge is not what you expect, delete immediately and start over A few extra notes: >public keys are OPTIONAL, and will remain so >you may OPTIONALLY volunteer as much or as little additional information about yourself alongside your public key, the only recommendation I make is that visitors, tourists and other arrivals declare themselves as such >WHEN submitting public keys, the challenge is REQUIRED, and only public keys which submit a signed copy of the challenge text are likely to be respected For any anons that for any reason will not be joining us in this thread, I am also collecting keys on my personal-use board at >>>/bsp/32. Anons may post their keys and challenges in either or both threads. The keys for this key collection are two GnuPG-compatible NIST P-256 keys in plaintext, one for signing and one for encryption. In GnuPG these are: >ECC and ECC >NIST P-256 GnuPG may be downloaded at https://gnupg.org/ and is also available through the package managers of most Linux distributions. GnuPG also has several GUIs, though I have not tried them to see which ones are best. The relevant GnuPG commands are: gpg --full-gen-key --expert # generate a public key, remember to select the key parameters above, name does not matter but DO NOT actually use your real name gpg --armor --export <KEY> > <KEY-FILE.TXT> # generate the text version of the public key, for uploading gpg --local-user <KEY> --clearsign <CHALLENGE-FILE> # generate a signed copy of the challenge file <CHALLENGE-FILE>.asc, this may also be done to provide additional signatures as you feel appropriate gpg <KEY-FILE> # check the contents of the key file gpg --verify <SIGNED-FILE> # check the contents of the signed file Note that you will need to re-name the signed challenge file to a txt file for 8chan to accept it. I have more to discuss, but it's big and I think most anons would see it as "schizo", so I'll hold off for a bit. Are there any questions?
>>1702270 >Are there any questions? Would it not be better to have every thread saved as a HTML & zipped into a collection that spans as a tapestry from the beginning? Maybe somehow making use of the keys to verify the archived downloads?
>>1702297 Maybe. I was thinking of throwing up the JSON archives on GitGud. I was worried about storage space, which is one reason I haven't simply done it. Having keys will add to non-repudiation of history.

>>1702297 Second, and this is assuming the project is linux-focused Let's say the year 2038 problem takes effect that makes older 32-bit distros like Debian 3.1 (Sarge) or windows 2000 & earlier, troublesome to use. Would this method still work on Debian 4.0 (Etch) & Windows XP 64-bit, along with older hardware like the Core 2 Duo PCs & laptops? Even when those OS's having long been out of support and being only there because of the ocassional surprise projects made by the communities? That's why I was talking about saving the HTMLs of the archived threads & zipping them earlier. Especially if things get so locked down that one would have to use sandboxed hardware from 25 years ago if they wanted to sift through the archives.
>>1702270 I'm gonna be blunt: I don't know what the fuck you're talking about, how this is relevant to getting anons back (which I'm cynical about to start since the only way anyone actually came was from entirely unrelated circumstance when the Soyteens got Hiroshima's cuckchan password and most of them went back the moment the site came back), and I have very little interest with anything to do with the word "crypto" in relation to imageboards after the 08chan disaster. Clearnet or bust. And fighting people who are ruining the Clearnet, before anyone gets uppity about burying your head in the sand on Tor or something.
>>1702270 From my understanding, you're proposing something like a "trust bootstrapper," right? Given a recent incident here and my experience using Matrix and E2E chat, I'm being pushed towards considering it, but I'm wary. >the obvious point being that GnuPG is too hard a barrier to entry for most, which can be spun either way, but pragmatically your proposal isn't going to accurately reflect the userbase and will only get a minority at most who are predisposed to be tech-oriented >inherently this involves some deanonymization into pseudoanonymization; IPs are already logged here so an argument can be made that we're already pseudoanonymous, and this is being proposed as a way to identify certain individuals who switch IPs to spam, but it defeats the format of this site. It's a more tech-oriented way of instating an account-and-password system, correct me if I'm wrong. >this still mostly relies on trust and good faith, theoretically being able to reliably identify bad actors and spammers easily would be a boon, but what's preventing possibilities like poisoning the well, and Sybil attacks like what we're currently experiencing? >are you pitting yourself as a CA? It's a more tech-oriented way of instating an account-and-password system, correct me if I'm wrong. Yes and no, I think of it more like a natural advancement of web-of-trust, long-term. Linkable ring signatures do allow banning of individual keys, without identifying them. >>this still mostly relies on trust and good faith, theoretically being able to reliably identify bad actors and spammers easily would be a boon, but what's preventing possibilities like poisoning the well, and Sybil attacks like what we're currently experiencing? Sybil attacks are definitely the hardest part. I think there are several options, each of which can be deployed on a case-by-case basis. In "closed" communities the problem is "easier": long-term members can demonstrate good participation, without revealing their posts or identities. >>are you pitting yourself as a CA? What's going to happen with the root keys? Yes and no, I don't think CAs give strong enough guarantees, and centralizing trust does not seem reasonable. I think at most one can start with a CA, but it CANNOT be the end.
Everyone's concerns so far have been useful. I'll be relaying it all to Codexx, as well as keeping it for my own reference during development. Further comments are welcome, and I do appreciate them. Even I, a complete detractor from this narrative, fully recognize that "crash" is only meant to refer to the "big players," a slowdown/cession of "big" game releases, and a massive drop in revenue for the industry. And… we're not seeing that at all. So there's no crash happening. Restructuring happens all the time; that's not an indicator of a crash.

The focus that we place on the story, and for Hinako, is how she musters the courage to combat that repression."" Fine, that's been done before, in fact it's a very common theme for horror games. Internal struggles causing visible horrors, summoning evil things, etc. >"...Hinako doesn't want to conform to what society views as her role as the subservient wife or daughter. Unlike her older sister, it doesn't seem like she has much interest in marrying, and she has no love left for her abusive father, who seems to either ignore or yell at her depending on his mood." Also fine, and also a common trope. She feels disconnected from her family and society and doesn't get along with her family. Horror game protags rarely have a stable happy home life. >""The 1960s were a time when this type of repression was prevalent, but it is also one of the hallmark eras in Japanese history for women's rights movements."" But why go this far? Why connect the game at all to women's rights movements or anything related to 1960's feminism in Japan? The story could make complete sense without it. Does the producer have a personal interest in this era? Is he a feminist himself? Does he think feminism means something different than what it really means? Or does he think talking like this during an interview/adding pro-feminist content to his game will get sales from people overseas, because he's been mislead by someone internally?

>>1707716 Yeah but those aren't the games people talk about because since they suck they don't get played as often. But games like Castlevania and Ninja Gaiden are good but very hard by today's standards. You could feel things get easier even year by year. Mega Man just gets easier and easier. 1, 2, and 3 are pretty hard. By the time you get to 6, it's pretty easy. 7 is insane but only at the very last level so maybe that was just bad design. It continues in later generations too. Crash Bandicoot 1 is insanely hard by PS1 standards because it's basically using Super Nintendo standards of difficulty. It's basically as hard as Donkey Kong Country, an obvious inspiration. Crash Bandicoot 2 is then way easier, and 3 is even easier unless you play the Time Trials, basically added as a way to add optional difficulty for those who want it. And the Jak & Daxter? Absolutely piss easy.

>>1708850 >and one of the questions boiled down to "this game is set to release in 2025 why not release it in 2024 to make more money" and the answer being a very corporate way of saying "the game needs to be ready first" Anon, there are instances of companies who have a completed product and refuse to release it because of whatever reason. Most commonly in the film industry. You may think it sounds retarded, but it is a valid questions, especially in today's world with how games are practiclaly being shipped half finished and all their content being patched in post-launch sometimes five years down the line.
>>1708909 >>1708850 >>1708956 Also I don't think the shareholders, being the "short-sighted retards" that they are, are very appreciative of the fact that video games now see development cycles the last an entire console generation compared to the games of a decade ago where five year development times were still uncommon.

Ironically, Eva would likely do something like the original pose, given her role in the story as a beautiful seductress and spy. So it isn't even a shoehorned in, out of character animation. >>1709880 Personally, I will not be playing it. I've already experienced the original and there is nothing new in this remaster that is worth retreading old ground to see. Modern graphics isn't enough to justify the time I would spend playing the game. Even if there was no censorship and a lot of new content, I don't know if I'd play it even then, as the MGS series really isn't a priority for me right now. Some anons might disagree, but if there is some sort of censorship or alternations to a game, the ability to sail the seas to get it doesn't automatically motivate me to change my mind and play the game. Even if it's free, the changes made to the game that frustrate me and betray the original vision of the game are still there. There's no reason to put myself through the annoyance or seeing these things in-game, whether it cost nothing or full price.

>>1710370 >I will And with that, I would like to inform the rest of the thread that Konami hasn't done a single fucking thing wrong. Yeah, it's terrible that the game is being censored, but does that matter when people are well aware of the censorship and choose to play it anyway? Especially when the OG version exists: >>1709921 And the 3DS remake.
>>1709880 I was excited to see the MGS collection vol. 1 when it was announced because it meant I'd finally be able to play MGS3 on PC, having never played it before. But then the reviews said the keyboard/mouse controls were shit (etc.) and so I just didn't. Then the announcement of Delta had me thinking "okay, maybe I can play it now," but it needs a GPU with 8 gigs of vRAM, and I don't have that. Oh well.
>>1710615 Pretty sure the one intentional bit of censorship is the omission of the survival viewer dance for EVA, UE4/5 notoriously has a shit tier default soft body physics (aka boob / ass jiggle) so most likely just laziness for that specific part (especially with Konami and the supporting devs track record), same thing happened to Lollipop Chainsaw iirc. I'm honestly much more pissed at Konami for pushing the inflated pricetag in some areas It's also a bit upsetting that you don't get a "definitive version" of sorts because the HD collection lacks a few neat things, the PS2 versions even emulated have noticeable issues especially if you want 16:9 / good framerates and the 3DS version has some noticeable downgrades in graphical fidelity, and obviously delta has the mentioned issues on top of extremely inflated PC requirements >>1710840 Just use a controller on one of the emulated version, 3DS might allow for jank mouseaim too if you're really afraid aiming is gonna be an issue I'd even say the game is worth trying to learn a bad M/KB control scheme just to play it once (even as someone who thinks it's not that great of a game compared to others in the franchise), which is good since iirc pirates don't get controller support on the PC port.
>>1709875 Okay, looked into it a little bit, and the story seems to be a bit different than the devs just full-stop making the posters SFW. Konami apparently reached out to the gravure idols who posed for the posters in the originals and asked them for photos of "themselves looking their best." Since it was left up to the models, some of them sent pictures of themselves wearing some kind of swimsuit, while others sent non-erotic pictures. One woman even sent a family photo, which of course looks more like a picture you'd see on a family's Christmas card than on a poster inside a military base. I tried finding examples of the original posters for comparison but they seem to be really hard to find. https://archive.ph/Denny#selection-1587.0-1595.217 It's important to note that these posters are only seen if you play the "New Style" mode. If you play on the "Legacy Style" mode, you will see the original posters. https://archive.ph/yYWUh#selection-799.296-799.644 Of course, if you ask any of the devs about this decision, chances are they will say something about wanting to give players of the original some feeling of nostalgia as they tried out the new gameplay mode. But given what we know, it's much more likely that they were worried how journos and sjws would react to pinup posters of attractive women being in a video game, even though the game is rated for mature audiences and the posters make sense in context. New players, especially casual gamers who are intimidated by the idea of non updated controls and mechanics, will just play the New Style and never see the posters. If anyone asks about the Legacy Style keeping the posters, Konami can say that they simply kept things as they were in the original with an HD upgrade, not changing anything, which includes the posters. All the while Konami gets good press on release about how they were so wise and inclusive for getting the new posters for the models in the game. In their eyes, they won on every front.
>>1709319 It's GTO style: https://civitai.com/models/1202788 >washed out colors of the anime of the era. I tend to increase saturation afterwards, but I kept colors a little more muted for that style. >>1709855 Photoshop & inpainting were involved, but sure. Here's prompts with links to everything.

>>1709572 >A Reminder that this guy jerks it to Futanari Even if that were true, how does this counter the censorship argument? I'd do some digging myself, but I don't have the chance right now. Has anyone else seen any proof of this? It's probably true but it's always good to have proof and all. https://archive.ph/yYWUh Seems like both the originals and new photos are in the game depending on which mode you play the game in, so it might not be censorship. >In an interview with Famitsu, creative producer Yuji Korekado says that the devs’ initial plan was to only increase the resolution of the posters found in the original game. But after it was decided that the remake would include both a “Legacy Style” mode, which replicates the camera and controls of the original game, and a “New Style” mode, which features an improved camera and gameplay systems, Konami chose to have fun with the gravure posters too. As a result, the Legacy Style displays sized-up versions of the original posters, while the New Style will feature brand-new posters. Moreover, the new posters were made with a kind of “Where are they now?” approach. >Though newcomers will appreciate the posters found in New Style, the updated images are meant to appeal to series veterans too. Korekado reveals that Konami asked the original models to provide recent photos of themselves looking their best. While some posed once again in swimsuits and fashionable costumes, others provided family photos. These new posters not only demonstrate the passage of time but give returning players who have since grown up a nostalgic glimpse at how the models have changed over 21 years. >>1709880 >another remake cashgrab to profit off Zoomers who won't touch the older games because they're not shiny enough >UE5 >100 GB To compare, Phantom Pain was 28 GB Fuck no. I'm just gonna stick to either Subsistence or the HD version.
You're gonna remember your rabbits tomorrow, right?
>>1711319 >Even if that were true, how does this counter the censorship argument? The "Argument" the guy is attempting to make is a strawman that the person is a "porn-addicted incel" who wants "all" media to be 24/7 pornos. Therefore, censorship is "justified" because actual "adults" don't "approve" nor "need" pointless "sexual explotiation".
>>1711182 >asked them for photos of "themselves looking their best >One woman sent a family photo Awww, that's kinda sweet.

Since it was left up to the models, some of them sent pictures of themselves wearing some kind of swimsuit, while others sent non-erotic pictures. One woman even sent a family photo… I read the same thing, and honestly I like that a lot. First of all, the original images are kept in the game and even upscaled (when you play classic mode), and then these are a "where are they now" selection you can switch to and from. As >>1711410 said, it's nice to see them that way.
>>1711319 >Even if that were true, how does this counter the censorship argument? It doesn't counter anything. He doesn't want to actually think up any kind of argument so he goes for an insult instead. You've probably seen sjws online try and insult someone by saying he gets rejected by women, doesn't have a girlfriend, doesn't get sex, etc. It seems to be some kind of default these types fall back on. >>1711410 >>1711430 It is pretty sweet, I don't blame the models at all in this situation. It's also been almost 21 years, many of these women probably aren't models anymore, so if Konami wanted new pictures it makes sense that they might not be comfortable doing a gravure photoshoot at this time of their lives. The presumed true motivation that Konami has for changing these posters is what is frustrating. They could have just kept the originals in both modes.
>>1711513 I know mods won't fix anything and that's it more of a crutch, but how easy is it to do texture swaps under UE4/UE5 games? With how streamlined game-making has gotten, I wouldn't be surprised if they all had the same encryption that could be broken
>>1711513 >It is pretty sweet, I don't blame the models at all in this situation. >>1711592 Right, they could have gone with new models and gotten new posters. It would have made complete sense, especially since the newly added mode is literally called "New Style." But as I mentioned up here >>1711182 , Konami is likely worried about how sjws and the typical crowd would react to the presence of erotic pinup posters in their game. And Konami also saw a chance to receive praise from journos and the press by giving these models a choice when it came to what photo they submitted (even though the models had a choice to pose for the original game too), and for removing erotic content from the game. To Konami, any good press matters, as they want more sales as soon as possible.

Long, tongue-in-cheek anti-Reddit post worth a read: The Four Commandments of Reddit >How a website for geeks gave us totalizing societal libtardation https://archive.is/uTjla Runs through some history and GamerGate gets a mention: >A few years later came Gamergate, an event that has been analyzed so meticulously elsewhere that I will pass over the details: A female game developer was accused by an ex of sleeping with a gaming journalist, influencing his reviews. The resulting social media brouhaha over industry sexism, harassment, free speech, and journalistic ethics came to dominate Reddit to the point where Gamergate discussion was inescapable, and mods and admins began censoring and shadowbanning accounts who criticized mainstream narratives. >>1714079 Comic-con is such a weird concept, especially since it seemed to get big back when comics and games were still seen as unsavory by the general public. It also feels like this mythical thing since as a kid it seemed cool but I was too young and poor to go, but now that I'm older and can afford it it seems too immature and commercialized. Just seems like the kind of thing that doesn't exactly mesh properly with the Western normalfag-sphere. Have any anons ever been to it?
>>1713658 >This is confronting to say the least, given that this place is a direct descendant of 4chan, which even prior to the exodus was a den of otaku retards. Always remind yourself: the victims most easily indoctrinated into the tranny death cult are the autistic.
>>1714106 >it seemed to get big back when comics and games were still seen as unsavory by the general public And that makes it even more plausible that it was all a money laundering scam. With added child trafficking. >It also feels like this mythical thing since as a kid it seemed cool but I was too young and poor to go, but now that I'm older and can afford it it seems too immature and commercialized The same thing happened to me, for literally any convention or the like (E3 and all): as soon as I got disposable income as an adult to go to any of those, I learned how those conventions operate, and they were all exposed as basically money sinkers. There is no real value in going to any of them. And some may even be criminal activity disguised as conventions.

He admitted his own failings in leadership, acknowledged that the remarks had caused harm, and stressed that the employee in question had already been dismissed last year. >"国外主力购买群体就是尼x" "Niggers(in Chinese) is the largest overseas audience for video games" >"昨天索尼老头来,zzzq安排上了" "Yesterday, a senior from Sony came to the studio and set the political correct agenda" >"听索尼的肯定没错,顶多少一份黄种人销量,但你会获得十份黑皮销量" "We had better listen to Sony. I recently did some reasearch on the mythology of witches for creative writing, and something that came up constantly was that witches had red hair and green eyes. Another one that was known throughout many ancient cultures was left-handedness. I am sure nobody really thought about what hand Vivian James considers her dominant hand at the time, but I think it would be interesting if she actually was meant to resemble something akin to the traditional witch, representing the witch hunt of gamergate. So the issue is word(s) kind of took on a double meaning because of that lamestream integration. Whether it was done on purpose or accidentally, it really does seem like some sort of outrage marketing to, ironically, try and ensure a less controversial launch. When the game comes out, the company gets little to no flak from journos or other deranged people online because, even if there are bikini costumes, it's clear no effort was put in to make the women eye-catching. Long-time fans and fans that like normal looking women notice how odd the characters look but none of their questions or frustration would be covered by any major game journos. Then, the devs just have to release a patch several weeks after launch to make the models marginally better, then many of the once angry fans buy the game. The average normalfag fightan player and game journo have already moved on to other games. So in the eyes of the company they have won over both sides. >>1718283 They already sort of did with UTAU, the most recent Kasane Teto voicebank is enhanced by machine learning, in order to try and make her voice sound more realistic.

>>1718147 >philosophers built western civilization The absolute pretension on display here is impressive. There were exceptionally few philosophers who actually contributed to western civilization in a meaningful way. Western civilization was built on the backs of hardworking men as leaders, soldiers, engineers, farmers, scientists, architects, monks, and generals. Philosophers are as distant from the vast majority of western development as possible, outside of a select few's contributions to laws and government. Then again you probably take terms like "The Enlightenment" at face value like an unthinking retard.
>>1714848 >is this delusion or faggotry on sonys part? Niggers do not care about videogames except maybe the small subset of nerd ones and they seem to love nintendo instead Guess I don't count?
>>1718393 You don’t seem to understand. The “philosophers” of the enlightenment were pseudo-philosophical commie hackfrauds. The scientists who build western society were practitioners of natural philosophy. Most monks practiced philosophy with varying degrees of influence from Plato and Aristotle. Most leaders were learned in philosophy as well. In case you didn’t know, philosophy existed prior to “The enlightenment”. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the enlightenment created anti-philosophy. Where the philosophers of antiquity sought to understand the nature of things, the “philosophers” of the enlightenment sought to reject the nature of things. But, if for the sake of argument we say that philosophers were “geeks”, and that philosophers are as distant from the vast majority of western development as possible, then you have only conceded that geeks are worthless and thus deserving to be treated as such.

Call of Movie: Modern Propaganda ‘Call of Duty’ Movie in the Works Under Major Paramount Skydance, Microsoft’s Activision Pact https://variety.com/2025/film/news/call-of-duty-movie-paramount-skydance-1236504600/ >Paramount has signed a film deal with Microsoft-owned video game publisher Activision to bring its “Call of Duty” franchise to the big screen. Under the partnership, Paramount will develop, produce, and distribute a live-action feature film based on the “Call of Duty” universe, which encompasses more than 30 mainline games released since the original “CoD” debuted in 2003. The valuation of the mega deal was not disclosed. Sources tell Variety that, while the pact is specifically focused on making one blockbuster “Call of Duty” movie, the deal encompasses the potential for Paramount to expand the “CoD” universe across film and TV. >There are no details yet on what the focus of the “Call of Duty” film will be Translation: "The Russians will be the bad guys.", though the video game franchise is at its core a series of first-person shooter military titles. Many of the games have interconnected storylines and characters, like the “Black Ops” sub series from developer Treyarch, which is about to release “Black Ops 7” this fall. The “Call of Duty” pact comes a month after Paramount closed its $8 billion merger with David Ellison’s Skydance and is the latest in a line of splashy moves. Since the merger was approved, the company lured “Stranger Things” creators the Duffer Brothers over from Netflix and shelled out $7.7 billion to become the home of Ultimate Fighting Championship events for seven years. >Now settled within Microsoft Gaming, Activision was itself part of a mega-merger just two years ago, when Microsoft completed its $68.7 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard, which gave the tech company control over “Call of Duty” and many other popular video game titles. For years, Hollywood struggled to crack the code on video game adaptations, but more recently it has found success, producing hit screen adaptations of “Mortal Kombat,” “Super Mario Bros.” and, this year, “A Minecraft Movie.” Paramount has previously scored with its adaptation of “Sonic the Hedgehog,” which has spawned sequels and spinoff streaming shows. >With “Call of Duty,” it gets access to not just the most successful video game franchises of all-time Literally no one did any research for this article, which can be disproven with a single kikepedia page., one that has sold 500 million copies globally and drew $30 billion in revenue as of 2022, but also a video game franchise that has not previously been adapted for film or TV. “As a lifelong fan of ‘Call of Duty’ This is propaganda and also a lie. this is truly a dream come true,” Ellison, who serves as Paramount’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “From the first Allied campaigns in the original ‘Call of Duty,’ through ‘Modern Warfare’ and ‘Black Ops,’ I’ve spent countless hours playing this franchise that I absolutely love. Being entrusted by Activision and players worldwide to bring this extraordinary storytelling universe to the big screen is both an honor and a responsibility that we don’t take lightly.” “Throughout its history, ‘Call of Duty’ has captured our imagination with incredible action and intense stories that have brought millions of people together from around the world, and that focus on making incredible ‘Call of Duty’ games remains unwavering,” Activision president Rob Kostich said in a statement. “With Paramount, we have found a fantastic partner who we will work with to take that visceral, breathtaking action to the big screen in a defining cinematic moment. The film will honor and expand upon what has made this franchise great in the first place, and we cannot wait to get started.”

Zombie bullshit is a whole nother basket of autism entirely. The original Modern Warfare trilogy >Russia became communist again or something, but then had an ultranationalist movement get big enough to ship nukes to the middle east >US invades MiddleEastistan (the mission briefs end with Google Maps zooms to at least three or four different countries) because of a coup that resulted in the execution of a (((democratically elected president))). >Middle East campaign ends with 30k Marines getting nuked, including a Player Character (gasp!) >The SAS and Captain Price run around some vague Eastern European lands and laments how he failed to kill Zakhaev, the villain >SAS kill Zakhaev and Price dies (except not really lol), but Russia becomes Ultranationalist anyway >MW2 wastes time with two missions in Afghanistan that means nothing, but the player character in those missions goes undercover to help Makarov, the true villian behind the trilogy, shoot up an airport, then he gets shot because Makarov read the script and knew the player character was a mole. >A magically teleporting army bypasses Europe, armies in Europe, fleets in the Atlantic, and are just shooting at everything in sight in DC. Somehow, this means Task Force 141, a poor man's Rainbow Six, goes to Brazil for something idk. >Task Force 141 is played up as super elite super special forces, but aside from Soap (the player from the first MW), Roach, and Skull Mask Guy, everyone else is incompetent and dies quickly every time an engagemenet starts >They rescue Captain Price from a gulag that he was in because some fan film on Youtue said he got arrested or something >Price goes full retard and shoots a nuke at the US, detonating it in the air, which also somehow destroys the International Space Station, to "give the US a chance", completely forgetting that the US is reliant on tech, and the EMP the nuke causes fucks them just as hard as the Russians. >Task Force 141 is branded as traitors for being dumb enough to shoot a nuke at America, surprise surprise, but somehow, General Sheperd is the bad guy because he shot the player character and the guy with the skull mask, so Price and Soap need to hunt him down in revenge. >Soap and Price, rogue SAS operatives, murder an American general, go AWOL, and nobody really cares >Third game has what's left of Infinity Ward remember there's a Europe between Russia and America, so some Delta Force team of forgettable cardboard cutouts go to France and then Germany after forgetting an EMP wiped out electronics across the entire eastern seabord. >What's left of Task Force 141 waste time doing nothing useful until Makarov sets off a trap that kills Soap (gasp again) >Price goes to a mineshaft to rescue the Russian president and his daughter. The cardboard cutout Delta Force team (sans the player character from that team) dies during a set of glitched out animations >The war is over lol, but Price wants revenge, so he shoots up a hotel in Dubai and kills Makarov in a set piece that somehow had more explosions than World War III in Germany. Black Ops is an even more convoluted mess due to jumping back and forth between the Cold War era and this Cyberpunk-lite future. Revenge is a theme in two of them. And some faggot thinks he's making high art with Call of Duty in at least two of them, where you die in the beginning of one and the other has most of the campaign be a fever dream.

GTA 6 apparently pushes us beyond AAA and into "AAAAA" territory, industry veteran claims: "It's just bigger than anything else" https://www.gamesradar.com/games/grand-theft-auto/gta-6-apparently-pushes-us-beyond-aaa-and-into-aaaaa-territory-industry-veteran-claims-its-just-bigger-than-anything-else/ https://archive.is/scfJZ >Triple-A or AAA is normally a pretty non-descript way of saying a game costs a lot of money to make. AAA games are the summer blockbusters of the industry, but one veteran took the AAA arms race to the next level by declaring that GTA 6 is a "AAAAA" release. Nigel Lowrie, who co-founded boutique publisher Devolver Digital, recently came out to say that basically no other video game series can touch Grand Theft Auto in terms of "cultural impact" or "scope." Speaking to IGN, Lowrie explained, "There are AAA games and then there's AAAA games, and I'd argue that Grand Theft Auto is potentially the AAAAA game; it's just bigger than anything else both in the scope and scale of the game and the kind of cultural impact that it has and the attention it demands." >Ubisoft previously got a lot of flak for calling its failed pirate-fuelled live service Skull and Bones a AAAA game, the same language Microsoft used when it was first recruiting folks for The Initiative, the now-defunct studio behind Perfect Dark's reboot, also cancelled. If a AAA tag signifies a big-budget and big public awareness, AAAAA just means an ever bigger budget and a place in the cultural consciousness, though it's generally a kinda silly way to talk about games because it's mostly based on vibes. Devolver Digital itself joked that it would launch a game on the same day as GTA 6's release date, next May, which could potentially be a good counter-programming move, but it's not a strategy the publisher used when recently delaying Baby Steps out of Hollow Knight Silksong's orbit. >"You can't AB test reality," Lowrie said. "Maybe Baby Steps would've just been fine September 8, it could have been. But am I willing to risk this team's livelihood and the future of the game they've worked on for five years to see if they both work out? I'm not. And I also want to listen to what they want, and what they want is to have their own spotlight and I couldn't agree more." So, who knows, maybe that mysterious Devolver Digital game won't release alongside GTA 6, after all. "The biggest competitor to Grand Theft Auto 6 will be Grand Theft Auto 5," says industry analyst, because AAA is struggling against the live-service behemoths it created years ago

>>1723663 The data breach had a projected development cost of 2 billion over the game's lifetime (e.g., patches, running GTA online 2, expansions) in 2022 before they delayed it for 2 years (in 2024 they were undergoing pre-release crunch, then delayed to 2025 then delayed to 2026). GTA5 sold 34 million in the first year with a greater console install base. If they sell every year one copy as full price digital (rather than retail) at $80 they'll get 1.904 billion before tax. I'm not expecting a bomb (unless, maybe, it's a Cyberpunk tier mess at launch), but the RoI being far too awful for investors to justify (1 billion of 2019 money needs to make over 1.25 billion just to beat inflation) is entirely possible.

>Go to halfchan /v/ for a few days as a test >Good news is barely any Wojack/Pepe posts anymore and culture war threads and bots >120 seconds to post >Bad news is it's a Zoomer shithole continous threads about Shillsong >Even worse news they now put Hollow Knight on the lower right to advertise to it. I swear to god, the hype for this game, the hype for fake Indies feels very artificial and I dislike it. I would rather attention be put on real Indies like the ones in Japan PLAYISM as a true Indie publisher, Inti Creates as a smaller publisher that would be considered small AA. Gaming world would be in a better spot than this. But sadly the whole industry is like a ticking time bomb waiting to collapse in on itself especially with GTA6 that looks like it will be the next Monster Hunter Wilds.
>>1723717 The most disgusting part of all that is that 2 billion+ has been genuinely wasted on a game that won't be operationally different from its predecessors. Every single building/room won't be enterable (like Shadows of Doubt, developed by one guy). Character models won't interact with their environments based on spatial relationships (like Motorslice, developed by one guy). There won't be persistent NPC behavioral schedules, and they won't be interactable or alterable on a persistent basis (like The Sims). There's no actual innovation in the GTA series. No instances of TECHNOLOGY in the gameplay. No "little things" in the world that make it feel more real. It's like they won't even TRY.

>>1723663 I hope GTA6 does to the industry what ET did to the industry.
>>1723663 Unfortunately it's too big to fail. If it does, I will eat my words and be extremely happy. But there is still issues Rockstar will have to face. <It's no longer the new kid on the block and has stiff competition from other Live Services from Gacha(think Umamusume) to CCP sponsored Fortnite, and American sponsored Roblox. <It also has to contend with the fact there needs to be actual reasons to have Shark Cards, new maps from older GTA series will not cut it. <It has to basically be better than GTAV which with Doug Houser and Milo gone I doubt. <Zoomers do not care about it only Millennials do. I do put the chances at 50/50 for Rockstar.
>>1723753 >Shark Cards >Older maps Wait, I thought those were for microtransactions? Why would you need microtransactions for older maps? Even if they did try to make you pay for each, there would still only be like five of 'em. But also, the other problem is that kids these days will probably say the PS2 era maps are too small to be worth it, since from what I can tell of the online gameplay, it's just a bunch of retards flying around, not exactly utilizing the intricacy of the maps. But also the game will be SJW trash anyway so I won't be bothering with it. They already shifted hardcore to focusing on online microtransactions, as you alluded to, completely killing the appeal of the series for me. And you know VI will do that even harder.
>>1723280 >a huge amount of AAA gamedev is in California Do not forget, a lot of Japanese Branches that are in America are literally in California and off a single Highway pic related of research they are all 20minutes to an hour from each other even Capcom is in San Francisco. The irony is if you think about the whole nepotism and translators being able to fail from one company to another. This makes total sense. It's not America that is the problem or California, but the COASTAL part of California near the literally coast itself. If people stopped putting branches in the most liberal or the most rightist of places and it put it in a place like Texas, Arizona, or even Nevada the issue would solve itself overnight. >Cali devs are expensive They are because the main problem is the fact they think they are worth a lot despite having only University experience and not much actual real world dev experience. Many times you see this with the bland Destiny design in UI that is because the Universities pump students out with this in mind, rather than learning how to theme UI's properly or to have actual hands on experience doing the work. >These jobs are going to places like Poland, Canada, and, as he says, East Asia. The average salary for a Polish dev is $13000 and they do work on par with their American counterparts. I would argue they do their jobs subpar than American counterparts and the outsourcing is just a sign of that being a much larger issue of cutting costs than really solving the core issue of making complete games. I mean look at the AAA industry 10 years ago and look at it now. >AAA had American and EU Devs. >They paid workers well >They had their work done on time and yes even if it was not perfect it was done with hardly any bugs on release >Over time the crunch sets in due to Investors wanting huge ROI >Most of the hardworking devs quit after the PS3 gen >AAA Industry adjusts by outsourcing to EU, Canada, East Asia(India, South Korea, China) >This becomes obvious as they no longer work on normal engines but UE5 >Everything is buggy on release due to having thousands of Indians, Chinese and South Koreans working on it and rotating teams around for UE5 as the defacto standard >It then goes back to the American Branch to then have to debug everything >Studios so big in America because it's a literal daycare for Women, the UI and Enviromental team and for hardworking men of devs they are pushed into crunch territory still to fix everything. >Every game has the realistic UE5 default look to it. I hate to say this, but it's not a country issue, this is just corporatism at it's finest. This outsourcing has been going on for a decade with Sony games, even Capcom has outsourced SF6 to India with the modeling team and you can see that in the credits.
>>1723776 You see that is what Rockstar is intending to do with GTA6 is to create a Live Service. The Roadmap is if they are successful and make even more money they intend to bring back older maps in GTA6 form even up to Vice City. Microtransactions eventually will feed into them to pay devs to then be able to implement that. They are too ambitious for their own good and I do think it will fall apart as Live Services, MMO's and even Gacha's have more realistic roadmaps than what Rockstar is proposing.
>>1723779 >that map >look up how close Nintendo of America is to the Microsoft headquarters in Redmond <they're 4 minutes apart, walking distance Not to take the heat off coastal california
>>1723808 Both those HQs would have been founded around the same time, around 1980 or so, right? Washington, and specifically Seattle, was a major hotspot in the '80s and especially '90s. And now it's a hellhole just like the rest of the west coast.
>>1723808 I agree it's not to take heat off. It's literally how wild this is to know how all of these corporate headquarters and branches are clustered together. It also is funny how those areas end up also have the hugest housing crisis and how they oppose anyone else living there when a developer proposes a new apartment, condo or even a restaurant, yet say they need to solve the housing crisis. They are NIMBY types and are also behind a lot of the issues plaguing America overall. They are very much parasites extracting from the host and are gatekeepers.
>>1723663 Would prefer it if they'd release episode-style games rather than try and shove everything into one massive game. At least you'd get new content to play, and more frequently than 1 release every 5-10 years.
>>1723824 >episodic games Fuck that. They're the worst. Or at least they were until publishers found new ways to jew us even harder. Everyone loved the PS2 entries. Just do those but with new cities. Besides, the ridiculous time it took to make VI isn't really because it took that long to develop, it's because of massive bloat and sheer incompetence. All it really is, and all anyone really wants, is Vice City but bigger. There's no reason that should take this long, especially if so much of it is going to be padded with empty space like V was. Even if it wasn't, though. Just make a literal map, throw some buildings on there, and bam, you're pretty much done. It's not like they're making the first driving or shooting game ever, or like they haven't made tons of them in the past. This isn't 15 years worth of work.
>>1723811 >Both those HQs would have been founded around the same time, around 1980 or so, right? Kind of, but also not really >Nintendo of America, established in 1980 >Microsoft, founded in 1975, but in Albuquerque, New Mexico >Microsoft moves from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Bellevue, Washington in 1979 >Microsoft moved to corporate campus in Redmond, Washington in 1986
>>1723858 So then yes, MS moved to a suburb of Seattle in 1979, and then moved down the street to a (technically) different suburb of Seattle a few years later. I bet there are other major tech firms there, too. All that plus Starbucks and Grunge music? We should have nuked the whole metropolitan area back in the '90s.
>>1723846 >They're the worst. Not talking about an endless stream of them, just a few spin-offs to play as new content, with shorter development time. They've got the assets, make use of them. Unpopular opinion: they don't even all have to have online options. >Everyone loved the PS2 entries. Just do those but with new cities. That works too. I get those things won't happen cos it doesn't fit with GaaS and microtransactions fleecing the public.
>>1723867 >I bet there are other major tech firms there, too. Amazon was founded in 1994 at Bellevue & has their headquarters in Seattle.
>>1723663 It's just gonna be a worse version of GTAV with some useless mini games thrown in. They're even removing the weapon wheel and making it more like RDR2 for the sake of MUH REALISMS, I'll probably get it when it comes out for PC although really only because Deep Silver killed Saints Row.
>>1723717 >The data breach had a projected development cost of 2 billion over the game's lifetime (e.g., patches, running GTA online 2, expansions) in 2022 before they delayed it for 2 years (in 2024 they were undergoing pre-release crunch, then delayed to 2025 then delayed to 2026). There's no way they're gonna make that amount of money back so easily even with one of the most iconic IPs in the industry. What the hell were they thinking they could just blow more money in this potential money sink? >>1723753 >Unfortunately it's too big to fail. If it does, This decade showed me otherwise that's not true with anything. Rockstar can always kill itself by chasing the sun for the absurd or even the impossible.
>>1723663 >GTA 6's release date, next May What are the odds of this actually happening and it not being pushed back again until later in the year?
>>1724023 The irony is if they extend it for another year. This will mean that basically the costs will go up huge time. This may actually mean an extra 500 million because the operational costs will still keep going. By that point charging 100$ might ending being 120$ and they will be relying heavily on MTX to offset that cost. I do think though that it might be too overly ambitious though.

>>1706047 It is even worse, considering that the feminist movement in the 60s in Japan was a Yakuza ploy to create a generation of women in poverty, so they could be used as prostitutes and also become drug addicts, ensuring decades of income to the Yakuza, from drug sales and prostitution. The Yakuza funded many entertainment pieces, mainly tv shows, encouraging women to be rebellious and "independent", knowing full well that society would ostracize them later, which was part of the plan. After a period of delinquency, those girls went straight into the poverty line and were then used as assets by the Yakuza, first by starving them (due to having no money for food), then proceeding to sell food on debt, then drugs also on debt, to fend off depression, and finally, forcing them into prostitution to pay their debts. essentially, slave labor for prostitution, with all the income being taken by the Yakuza bosses. And now, years later, men are avoiding women altogether in Japan, for fear of marrying a probable "former" prostitute or the daughter of a prostitute. It reminds me of that meme with the screaming naked women in Europe, calling feminism a biological weapon. Feminism is genocide without war. And those "free" and rebellious women were too dumb to fall for the trick. Many ended their lives in suicide, or as drug addicts, or simply starved to death. While the surviving ones were isolated from society and their children were basically pariahs, avoided by all.

>>1723663 >Nigel Lowrie, who co-founded boutique publisher Devolver Digital, recently came out to say that basically no other video game series can touch Grand Theft Auto in terms of "cultural impact" or "scope." Pokemon has had a much larger cultural impact and scope than GTA. Sure, no Pokemon game has ever been as big or graphically intense as GTA, but in terms of scope across the entertainment industry as a whole, Pokemon wins easily. Mario has also had a bigger impact on culture, as someone would be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't recognize an image of Mario. Try doing the same with a pic of a GTA character and much fewer people would be able to identify him.
(375.33 KB 1000x1000 CJ.png)

>>1727130 >Try doing the same with a pic of a GTA character and much fewer people would be able to identify him. Would think CJ would be the most recognizable of all GTA characters given how often he is referenced
>>1727155 It probably would be CJ, yeah, due in a major part to all the memes about San Andreas that were popular a few years ago. Kids who weren't old enough, or not even born early enough, to play the game learned about him through those kinds of videos. But Mario and Pokemon are more recognizable by an even wider audience. If you show some grandma a picture of Pikachu, there's a much higher chance that she will be able to identify it compared to CJ, since saw it at the store when shopping for her grandson or something, or heard about it on TV. A bunch of students at a kindergarten would be able to talk about Mario and everything, but they (hopefully) wouldn't know anything about CJ since his game, and video memes, are not even close to appropriate for their age. That's why I'm a bit surprised this guy in the article claimed no other game could touch GTA in terms of its impact on culture.
>>1727169 >That's why I'm a bit surprised this guy in the article claimed no other game could touch GTA in terms of its impact on culture. He's leaving out the part where GTA's 'main impact on culture', as he puts it, is the controversy that erupts after each major release & rides on waves of notoriety that have been following the same script since III. The same old >you steal cars >you deal drugs >you can run over people >you can have sex with prostitutes >you can also shoot said prostitutes you had sex with It's what got articles written, parents complaining, advocacy groups wanting it banned, and politicians using it as a scapegoat for whatever glownigger-op happened. Controversy aside, he's probably not bringing up Mario and Pokemon in his line about cultural impacts because, I would wager in his mind, that he shouldn't have to bring them up because those who play video games already know who they are without being told about Pikachu or Mario himself. He also probably wants a review copy of VI.

Condensed for relevance. 'Sexually violent' GTA 5 banned from Australian stores (December 4 2014, from BBC) https://archive.ph/ZdMGp Two Australian retail chains have removed video game Grand Theft Auto V from sale in its stores, following complaints about the depiction of violence towards women. >Target and Kmart stores pulled the game after a petition launched by three female survivors of violence gained more than 40,000 signatures. >Target said the decision "was in line with the majority view of customers". >... >The decision was made after three women set up a petition on change.org urging Target to withdraw the game. >"It's a game that encourages players to murder women for entertainment. The incentive is to commit sexual violence against women, then abuse or kill them to proceed or get 'health' points," the petition reads. >"To see this violence that we lived through turned into a form of entertainment is sickening and causes us great pain and harm." >It goes on to say that games like GTA 5 are "grooming yet another generation of boys to tolerate violence against women". >... >Jim Cooper, general manager of corporate affairs at Target, said that the decision to withdraw the game had not been taken lightly. >"We've been speaking to many customers over recent days about the game and there is a significant level of concern about the game's content," he said in a statement. >"However, we feel the decision to stop selling GTA 5 is in line with the majority view of our customers." >... >Kmart also decided to pull the game - both it and Target are owned by the retail group Wesfarmers There was also that ABC News smear piece they made against Gamergate 10 years ago in the US where they used GTAV as a scapegoat & brought on the Literally Whos. Different from Australia outright banning the game, but they both ran through the same talking points of "violence against women" Relevant line about GTAV is at 2:20-2:40. Video description they wrote up is chilling >In an effort to reprogram the video gaming industry, many outspoken critics have faced horrifying backlash and threats.

In more get woke, go broke news, developers of Vampire Bloodlines 2 are refunding customers due to the marxist propaganda piece disguised as a game being just another broken mess: https://archive.ph/Fu40h
>>1730677 Chris Avellone proven right again and again.
>>1730677 <"Many fans were upset at the news that two of six Bloodlines 2 clans would be locked behind the $22 DLC" That's bold of them, didn't companies keep the existence of Day 1 DLC a bit closer to their chests until recent years? Reveling it over a month before release seems like a bad call. Also, this situation is a great example as to why Silksong has sold so much so fast. The two games are different, sure, and there are other factors as to why Silksong is a big seller these past few days. Normalfags usually aren't very logical when it comes to games, but even they can see that $20 for a full game now is better than preordering a $60-$70 game then paying another $22 for add-on content that should have been in the game already. When Bloodlines 2 comes out, sales will likely be low and excitement will be minimal beyond whatever sponsored excitement a number of content creators will be paid to have.

Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba to resign https://archive.ph/EtIXx >TOKYO (AP) — Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has expressed his intention on Sunday to step down following growing calls from his party to take responsibility for a historic defeat in July’s parliamentary election, Japan’s NHK public television reported. >Ishiba, who took office in October, had resisted demands from mostly right-wing opponents within his own party for more than a month. >His move comes a day before his Liberal Democratic Party decides on holding an early leadership election, a virtual no-confidence motion against him if approved. >The prime minister is expected to hold a news conference later Sunday. >Ishiba intends to step down to prevent the party from getting divided further, NHK said. >In July, Ishiba ’s ruling coalition failed to secure a majority in the 248-seat upper house in a crucial parliamentary election, further shaking the stability of his government. >His decision came after his meeting Saturday with Agriculture Minister Shinjiro Koizumi and his perceived mentor, former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, who suggested Ishiba’s resignation ahead of Monday’s vote. >He had previously insisted on staying, stressing the need to avoid a political vacuum at a time Japan faces big challenges, including U.S. tariffs and their impact on the economy, rising prices, rice policy reforms and growing tension in the region. >Since the LDP’s adoption, last week, of its review of the election loss, which called for ”a complete overhaul” of the party, requests for an early leadership vote or for Ishiba’s resignation before Monday’s results have gained traction.

>>1725732 That's moreso how Dragon Ball Z pads things. The bulk of Wan Piss padding is flashbacks & side stories that have insanely slow pacing in episodes shortened to under 15 minutes each using a long intro & recap so practically no progress can happen. >>1725610 Mild Wan Piss autist here. All I got outta this chapter is that Blackbeard Teach is the son of Rocks of the Rocks pirates (the crew that had all the biggest names during Roger's era). And something about his lineage going back to Davy, a name that I can only recall mentioned in the "Davy Back Fight" game pirates play to win crew members. Also Shanks & Shamrock are the twin sons of Garland & Garland killed their mother after planning to win Shakky at some human-hunting tradition held by the Celestial Dragons. But we already know Shakky ends up running a bar in Sabaody Archipelago (that bubble place with slave auction houses, before timeskip & before Fishman Arc) so there's not much tension in her being captured in a flashback. That is, if I'm even following everything correctly. It's hard to remember things after 1,159 chapters so maybe there was some other mention of Davy & it's not just a recent asspull that gets retroactively added into the lore as something the reader had never really heard specifically mentioned until that moment.
>>1732784 No, that's always a hoax, and recorded history is rife with examples of it. The story of Hanukkah, for example, is about "traditional" jews and "hellenized" jews pretending to fight over integration, whereupon they paid whites to kill each other in their name and then subsumed back into a single jewish group after the war was over. The story of Esther, too, is about one group of jews having a beef with another group of jews (in the form of a single royal advisor to Xerxes). So this jewish whore tricks Xerxes (white guy) into marrying her and preying on his emotions so that he'll 1. execute this royal advisor for "threatening the jews" (he wasn't; he was jewish himself) and 2. allow a decree to be written to "protect the jews of the Persian Empire" from retribution. Well, he doesn't write the decree; he lets her dad write it. And so he writes "any jew may preemptively attack anyone they think is going to harm them," and that's how 30,000 white Persians were slaughtered by jews after the decree went out. And then, of course, the story of WWII is the story of "international" jews (communists) and "national" jews (zionists) forcing whites to slaughter each other yet again... and then instantly coming back together as a single group after the war.

Dragon Ball and more pulled from shelves amid Texas censorship bill https://archive.ph/WwElE >Retailers are already reacting to a recent Texas bill by pulling manga from shelves, including issues of Dragon Ball and more. The bill SB20 appears to have noble intentions with language going after generative AI being used to create material which simulates realistic child exploitation. However the bill also includes vague references to “cartoons”. >As previously reported, there’s plenty of manga and anime which could hypothetically run afoul of this bill, while anime featuring fanservice or sexual violence such as Goblin Slayer are obvious targets, retro anime which features casual nudity is also on the chopping block. For anyone familiar, it’s a running gag in the original Dragon Ball for a young Goku to run around naked. As a result, at least one retailer made the decision to pull these earlier volumes from shelves, and be more restrictive on what he will allow customers to order. All those anti-loli fags on Xitter are gonna start crying any second now that the popular stuff got targeted. I wonder if BnHA got hit with the ban hammer too, that would REALLY set them ablaze and I'd love to see it.

It's still pretty bad and potentially a sign of things to come. >>1737415 >Among those who were lucky to try the game out before the release, not everyone is happy with its performance. Arekkz Gaming, for example, noted that in the mission provided for a preview, the FPS stayed around 60-70 on an RTX 4080 setup with an i7 CPU and frame generation turned on. However, turning the framegen off resulted in frames dropping to 30-40. >Destructoid's Scott Duwe mentioned "numerous crashes, hitching, stuttering, and framerate drops," but 2K's PR team claimed that his PS "falls below the recommended specs, but does meet minimum specs," so this might be the reason. >Borderlands 4 is powered by Unreal Engine 5, infamous for its optimisation problems, although Epic Games' CEO thinks the issue is actually "the order of the development process." Another culprit might be Denuvo, which is incorporated in the game, according to Steam. I don't think there are any players who have good things to say about the DRM system, as it is known for slowing games down. The developers, of course, deny the accusations and say the bad rep is thanks to pirates. After how Gearbox screwed the pooch with Aliens: Colonial Marines, Borderlands 3, Battleborn, and Risk of Rain 2 after the original dev left, I don't feel bad for the suckers paying for this one bit.
