ACT III IS REAL Anonymous 10/03/2025 (Fri) 17:57:08 Id: 56b1eb No. 1813073
IT'S FUCKING REAL!!! https://protomen.com/news/
>>1813073 I still don’t believe it. pinned for old times sake

The fuck is this?

The cover For newfags, The Prototmen are a Mega Man themed concept band founded in the early 2000s who were very popular on /v/ from about 2010-2016. They've been inactive since and I imagine we've cycled through so many anons that the "cultural knowledge", if one may forgive such pretentiousness, has been lost on anybody not oldfag enough to remember them.
>>1813162 >has been lost on anybody not oldfag enough to remember them. A lot of them might be anons pretending not to know who they are for a laugh
>>1813156 Zoomie zoomer zoom zoom?
God how fucking weird, I remember everybody losing their shit when they first got popular back when I was in middle school.

>>1813162 Can't lie, I'm not the biggest fan of the cover. Especially from a band with iconic album art.
(17.00 MB 1080x1080 Rat Taxi.webm)

>>1813156 >>1813162 I listened a few of their tracks. Honestly, people making videogame "fan music", video game-themed music and beyond that - unique, unheard of, "starving" indie artists are a dime a dozen now. Most of them produce stuff of pretty good quality. I'm spoiled for choice, and this doesn't "do" anything for me, if that makes sense. and I don't care much for megaman or 80's pop You guys have fun.

To drive the point home a bit more, there's this guy called John Maus who makes 80s pop-styled music and he's pretty well liked. It's okay, I guess, but even compared to the stuff I've heard that's actually made in the 80s I think it's pretty monotonous and repetitive. Maybe you guys will like it more, but I just don't see it.
<<1813294 Funnily enough I was going to say Act I's cover reminds me of Maus's We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves That said I feel like you're doing the nonchalant "I'm so above this" ragebait routine and it's very uninteresting, apologies if genuine
>>1813322 I'm really not trying to talk down any of the work here. It's competent and does have its merits, but it just isn't my cup of tea. But these thoughts have been bugging me for quite a while because I see recommendations for music like this pop up every now and then and none of them ever click with me. ok I'll stop posting now
>>1813264 >bombastic rock-opera <80s pop ?????
(3.61 MB 1068x1080 The Touch.webm)

>>1813362 Well, to me it sounds like whatever you call vidrel. I lumped all of that into "80's pop". I like this one okay final post
>>1813073 Holy shit
>>1813214 High school for me. No idea why they dislike the X series though
(2.09 MB 1003x983 beam.png)

>>1813228 Wasn't big on it either and tried making a different one. It's cornier but I prefer the composition.
>>1813073 >I was in middle school when Act 2 released >Only really started paying attention because of you faggots and your cover of The Hounds >Loved the tracks I've heard, but always believed Act 3 was in the same never ever limbo hell as Half Life 3 or Prime 4 >It finally drops Is this what hope feels like? Satisfaction? Resolution? I can't find the exact word right now, I'm just praying the SIXTEEN YEARS since Act 2 were worth it for you guys who stuck it out so long.
>>1813228 Eh, it's alright. At a glance I worried it might have been AI generated at first but it looks okay, just incredibly busy. Especially compared to the other cover art pieces.
FUUUUCK YEAH Okay but for real what's with this preorders and also releasing a few tracks at a time? Are people who "preorders" going to get the whole thing right away?
>>1813151 Wrong thread theme. Here are the actual songs currently released so far.
>>1813073 Bullshit. And even if it was, I’ve never EVER heard of a creative product waiting literal fucking decades to drop a sequel and have it come out good. >But Top Gun Top Gun was a mid plot carried by good execution, shut up.
>>1814539 Silksong is proof of this being a baseless accusation. Things take time to complete and become good. If Act 3 came out 16 years later then maybe it would've been shit but we'll never know. >hurr durr that's just one example Alright then, TF2, After 9 years of development, i'd say it was worth the wait. Practically invented a whole new genre. Ok
Its not quite 4am, but close enough.
There is Hope left in Man? Truly?
The fact this thread as 25 posts the next day lets me know how few 8/v/ oldfags are left. Even 2020 /v/ would have gone apeshit over this. Now we're a board of Tiktok zoomers and gacha Indonesians.

>>1815252 If you're mad about musicians being leftists you basically can't listen to any modern music
>>1815267 Given that 80% of leftists progressed all the way to lunacy, which is reflected in their latest work, I might just prefer that.
(303.65 KB 640x352 drats.mp4)

>>1815267 >you can't listen to any modern music
>>1815252 >>1815267 When people/'tists dive into projects they tend to lose the ability to follow along on other things and will repeat whatever they last heard from someone nearby when asked. It's like a slightly different version of the Gell-Mann Amnesia Effect. It's best to just ignore what artists say about external things until it affects their work. If it does end up doing so, proceed to judge accordingly and shit on them as necessary.
When I was young, couldn't stand to believe it Somewhere there was a child left unvaxxed Now my heart won't be still 'til I've taken it Won't be still 'til I've taken the vax There's a disease, can't be seen, it surrounds me As afraid of the Science as the Vax Was a time, long ago, these were safe streets Now I'm the only one that gets the vax GIVE ME THE VAX!
>>1815267 >>1815419 Not giving money to people that hate you is a perfectly reasonable action to take, whether the person/group is a staunch supporter or blind follower. Doesn't matter how much they understood what they were saying, they are responsible for what they openly supported in public.
>>1816234 >buyfagging >in the middle of a global recession Your primary assumptions were misplaced to begin with.
>>1816234 >buying music
>>1813294 Ten feels, forty feels, two hundred feels? How about I'm rememberin all of em.
>>1816265 Don't kid yourself; it's a depression since 2008.

>>1813073 HOLY FUCK.
>>1813073 I feel nothing
>>1815267 I mean, I think it depends. But I've heard Gen X conservatives say Nirvana or Rage Against the Machine are what they like to listen to, which is stupid since the latter are a bunch of commies and Kurt Cobain probably would have gone the Bruce Jenner route if he hadn't given himself the Remington mouthwash.
>>1818079 >Nirvana Deserves more bullying than Nickelback tbh.
>>1818500 Grunge literally gave us Silent Hill
>>1816234 Unfortunately this, many a time I went to go buy media only to find the creator was openly hating on what I support and believe in. [sadly yarr harrs]
>>1816855 It's gonna get a helluva lot worse boss, my current prediction is we're gonna see unemployment numbers go off the rails come 26-27 winter, and wages will never recover.
Why was this anchored?
>>1820404 People who are old enough to use this board care about it.
>>1820404 Yeah, I guess the achor is a bit much
>>1815252 Hmm, well at it's core The Protomen is about toppling a commie jew for ruining the world with his commie jewness. So unless Act III music itself has "TRANS BLACK LIVES MATTER" in it, it can go on as many cheesy Sonnenrad edits as possible and "Raul Panther" can't do fucking shit about it. Also pirating like other people said
Have they released all the songs yet?
>>1824142 Read the fucking OP link First two were released years ago as well.
>>1824280 >…we’re going to unleash this story on the world episodically with a track (or 2) each week. I see. They have sung some other songs from Act 3 in concerts. Was wondering if I should post those here or if it would be best just to wait for the finalised version.
>>1824280 >First two were released years ago as well. Worth noting the version of This City Made Us is new.
>>1815267 >>1815419 Don't fucking make excuses for these people. Anyone who in any way, shape, or form supports the destruction of my people, my culture, my nation, and my society is a goddamn traitor, regardless of how "brainwashed" or "well-intentioned" they are. It doesn't mean that you have to hate them, or that you can't respect them as artists and enjoy their work, but to not hold them accountable for their behaviour in a time when so much is at risk is to be complicit.
>>1832212 Oh quit being a nagger and enjoy the album.
