Today I want to talk about Aru and her hair. The head of Problem Solver 68 has straight red hair that goes down to her chest. She has some wayward strands of hair, but that's because she's outlaw. Her bangs are cut just above her eyes in a very straight manner, suggesting she might have done the classic "bowl on head" trick. Her hair is entirely in the front, because her jacket is cool, and cool jackets don't have hair on them. That, and her horns likely have something to do with that. Her left horn glints, fun fact.
Aru's New Years hairstyle has been tied in a bun behind her, looking to be somewhat chaotic in the exact method of which it was tied. Perhaps Mutsuki helped, or she would do it on her own and came up with this? On her right, she has a lock of hair that's not part of the hairbun, but seems to be intentional. It might not be, which would certainly be in-character for Aru to unintentionally appear cool. Her right side as a whole seems somewhat less orderly. Finally, there's the humongous rose accessory on her left. Can't miss it! It has three strands going down it, each with red and gold beads. The middle one is short and ends with some ribbon-like object, and the backmost one has a purple cube.
Dangerous Aru's hair is pretty funny in how little she changed. She just put most of her hair in the back. Debutante Aru's hair is a lot less orderly than normal despite this being a more sophisticated event than normal. Her right side's hair went back to its normal place, with the left barely staying behind her. Her memolobby also reveals she's curled her hair, as well as tied it somewhat in a small bun. It's a good look for her, and if she continued with these sorts of different hairstyles, she could very well be a model.
Young Aru has shorter hair, and bangs that are held up by a red hairclip on her left. It makes her look very mature, though her hair being cut uniformly to her neck isn't as interesting as the outlaw's modern hair.
Aru is bad at mahjong. Even so, she has two sprites that I would be remiss to not go over. First, her "bond" hairstyle has her hair braided on the right, the left mysteriously absent (but likely part of the same braid). When it reaches her armpit, a gold hairband-like item denotes the end of the braid, making her "free" hair last a bit longer than her "ordered" hair.
Her other outfit is a hairbun that's tied with a gold hairpin. Think nyAru but a lot simpler and you've got Aru's other hairstyle.
Aru is a woman of many talents, like running, not looking at explosions, making lots of money quickly and losing lots of money quickly. Despite being in poverty, she dresses pretty well. One of the most important parts about Aru's design is in her gun. The rose flower bolt, the wine-red... And in her base outfit, even the straps on her jacket coincide with her rifle. I would go so far as to say that Aru's gun is the focal point of Aru's design, as it never really strays from the principles of this. New Year Aru? Her kimono is wine red with a rose pattern. Dress Aru? Wine red jacket, but a slight departure in how her dress is more crimson than it is wine, with the rose on her left leg, holding it all together. Even so, the jewelery she dons is a stand-in for the gold which, considering the desire to blend in, it's an impressively sharp choice for Aru. To a lesser extent, Aru's mahjong "bond" outfit does this, but that's mainly in her toenails and the aforementioned hairtie. Quite literally on the periphery of her design.
I don't even know what's going on with her other outfit, it's very strange, and a bit too Eastern for my tastes.
Some would expect Problem Solver 68 to not take care of their hair, but they'd be looking at the building and not the students within. Aru's hair is quite the opposite, with care taken in keeping up an impressive appearance. The sort of appearance that will wow whoever sees how hard-boiled she is! The scent? It wouldn't make sense to get close to the rose and suddenly smell something else, of course. Aru's hair is very rosy, to the point where the phrase "stop to smell the flowers" could be accomplished just by getting a whiff of her hair!
