It's like smash bros but a battle royale. It sounds exciting. Heck you could make your own character and their special moveset or weapons could could be classified into two classes. Melee weapons(Normal attacks) and familiar weapon(special attacks). Would that be a great idea?
That implies giant Maple Story like map or something for smash characters to smash around?

>>1921780 Maybe a giant map that has multiple arenas, with many at the bottom, but only one at the top, and every X time the lowest floor would sink, so you have to keep on climbing, while also knocking down your opponents. You could also try to rush to the very top, but it's a small arena, and not everyone can fit there, or maybe the powerups only spawn at the lowest level available, so there is an incentive to remain at the bottom, until the very last minute.

KOs knock someone "out" of the arena and they respawn in one of the lower ones. Defeat everyone else, and then the next arena is linked in for long enough to produce an animation of your character climbing up to the next level.
>>1922141 Adding to that: the arenas are not linked in the physics engine but may be connected through doorways and pathways that work like teleports. Like how in Duke3d, going underwater was a teleport. You will see a short animation of your character opening a door, climbing a ladder, running down the street, flying a space shuttle, or however they move to the next arena while the next arena loads. Think of River City Ransom but with more variety of how you move from one map to the next. Your character knows which direction is "up" and will advance automatically when all enemies are cleared. In some locations the game can render in the background the next arena over to make it look like they are corrected. Modern processors have enough power to draw two games at once. And we can tell a story with the arenas. The top arena is somewhere that everyone is trying to reach for some reason. When you get knocked out, you may fall into a lower arena for a reason. 'You fell into the canal and pulled yourself out in X location which happens to be two arenas below,' shown by climbing the ladder out of the canal and shaking yourself off before entering the map.

This I could get behind. I was just thinking how cool it would be if you could unlock new A and B moves and customize your attacks, like in God Hand.

I enjoyed the playtest quite a bit, and while I like the character designs somewhat I also think they're definitely very "Western Anime" and not in a good way. If these guys can manage to get it across the finish line I think it'll be pretty good.
