Difficult to pick a favorite, but Once Upon a Time in the West is up there. While the Dollars trilogy is likely more popular among the general populace (I'm looking at you, The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly), Leone's later film really cemented everything he had learned and he put his soul into that movie. Plus Charles Bronson is awesome. High Noon is also another classic - really drives the cowardice of people forward. I'd highly recommend it. Hud's also a disillusioned western that's quite dark. Another interesting one with Paul Newman. John Wayne's mega popular, but I haven't seen many of his westerns and the ones I saw were not my favorite (though the one played on the movie stream more recently was good). >Favorite director Sergio Leone is really the only one I've seen the most movies from.
