/vp/ plays thread Bunken 06/02/2025 (Mon) 00:01:04 Id: c2eb25 No. 6956
>pokemon odyssey gets a release window of june 13th >elena announces her new pmd style game centered around arceus >rg plays more of plaf and beats pmd psychic puppets >orevald beats noon, starts another plaf run, checks out blooming beasts, and continues his old clover postgame file >I am also at clover's postgame but for the first time >Jon plays puppet dance performance: shard of dreams, a touhou game that is basically pokemon, but not touhoumon >orion starts up pokemon unbreakable ties >kj starts up pokemon salt n shadow >john vpposter beats the atlas demo >What is this? This is a thread where a bunch of autists come together and play shitty fangames. Join if you want. >How do I join? Just make a name and start posting images of whatever fangame/romhack you're playing. >Archive https://rentry.org/vp-Plays-Thread-Archive >Fangame Bingo Card Generator https://bingobaker.com/#6636f8a719381479
(38.79 KB 1366x720 barrage of questions.png)

found a psychic in telekino that told me the next plot point was in the broadcast center. if the grunts you face when you answer wrong weren't easy I'd still be stuck there. the karma elite here wasn't a slouch either, 3 tries. can't believe they're managing to make a good postgame plot
>>6958 I remember one of those questions forcing you into a fight even if you answer correctly and it gaslit me for a while. It's 2 A.M.
other then having to beat 6 trainers before him each time he's still the easiest of the 3 ebin leaders so far. 7 tries >>6959 still not sure how the first question works
[Sad News] Statuses are altered in this so Parafusion isn't hilarious bullshit >>6960 It's the first one because none of the other questions do the "A.x B.y C.z" thing.
Shoutouts to Muenzuka for it's pretty background tucked away in an optional exit from the Forest of Magic.
I was supposed to pick this up after I beat Remilia and completely forgot.
Rock Smash let me find an Old mansion with as much spooky stuff going on as there is rare candy.
(89.86 KB 1382x841 What the fuck is that.png)

What in the goddamn....? >>6958 >>6960 GG.
ENTER KEYBOARD. Basically the same team as her sisters. >>6965 It's the Biting Pear of Salamanca AKA the "LOLWHAT" Pear.
>>6965 thanks bro
Ice Sliding Puzzles my beloved and my favorite Touhou: 5 floating eyeballs.
if your youtube recommends are tainted by pokemon, beware, some jewtuber got a hold of the final version of pokemon odyssey. the silver lining is that means it'll probably meet it's release date without another delay
>Still stuck in tardjail >>6958 GG. Shadow Council HP is one of the biggest wakeup calls in the postgame I feel. All of the Shadow Council fights are among the toughest in Clover along with the Karma boss and E4 rematches. >>6961 >Paraflinch still on the table >Can't even miss the Rock Slides anymore It's a well-intentioned change but I get the impression one problem has just given way to another.
>>6971 thanks bro. might have to add in a legendary if they get much tougher. hope you get free from tardjail duty soon
Entrancing Wishes got updated, looks like a lot's been added
>Deltarune's new chapter is 3 days away Oh joy, I can't wait to for no one to shut up about this crap for fucking months and for songs from it to randomly pop up in fangames fairly frequently. >>6967 I knew I recognized this from somewhere, I just didn't recall what it was. >>6970 I wished Pokemon was what was haunting my recommendations right now, I don't know why but every 2 videos that pop up on my screen are either kikes bitching at me to send all my money to "le heckin victim refugees" or some bizarre fucking shit videos from India, China or even Brazil. >>6971 Sorry to hear bro, I haven't had much free time lately either, job hunting and not being able to sleep are draining me. Hopefully you get some free time soon.
Been a rough few days, ggs on everything bros >>6970 >Jewtuber signs up for Odyssey beta test >Instead of, you know, TESTING the game, he starts playing and le spoiling it I assume that's how it went anyway, idk if it'd be worse if they gave him an early copy to play and le spoil >>6971 Sorry to hear it bro
>>6974 I hope it's only for a few months and not years >>6975 thanks bro. based on the tweet it might actually be the second one. hoping the small parts of the gen 4 music were just because it's arceus and that this isn't a demake of legends arceus
(42.16 KB 1366x720 did the man dirty.png)

>>6974 this is the easiest one by far. sombuludo wasn't even at max health but one swords dance+bullet punch took out 3, earthquake took out the clown snake, then the rest cleaned up dragking and the shiriman. 1st try, the gym puzzle took longer kek
(45.86 KB 1366x720 no math puzzles please.png)

some of these side quests remind me of empyrean, npcs that only give you a hint once, underground labs, this weird line in particular, it's interesting
(42.43 KB 1366x720 clover is too nice.png)

everyone says 4chan is evil but they did not subject me to a 6v12, unlike EVERYONE ELSE. this was only 6 tries. from easiest to hardest it's leather/two brothers/broly/coldsteel/bavi
(49.85 KB 1366x720 that was not worth it.png)

climbing up mt clover now, god I hate ice/strength sliding puzzles
(51.66 KB 1366x720 tardedtank.png)

I now understand how power split works, what an abomination

I can't manage to sit down without either something coming up and me getting busy for hours or me being so tired from the lack of sleep that I just collapse. I really gotta fix my schedule. Life shit aside, wow I love spending hours hunting down low % encounters dude, only for them to end up having dogshit IVs, I dunno how easy it would be to breedtism a good Aviajoin, but I was highly considering it. Oh also- >/rheg/ is hyping itself up for Odyssey >/v/ is getting swamped by Deltarune shit and you have redditors and troons/faggots from troonsky swarming the board and making it somehow even worse than it normally is Cripes, it just doesn't end. >>6975 Sorry to hear bro. >Pic and vid REGIGNOSIS GODS........I know what must be done. >>6976 H-haha........given how bad the spam already is before it even having come out yet......... >>6977 >>6980 GG bro and good luck for the final climb.
>>6983 thanks bro. sorry to hear you're still having issues sleeping bro
>Moe shit itself on Bing and I can't access it no matter what >Open up Librewolf >It works perfectly fine What even? >>6984 Thanks bro, also, question, did you find Rock Climb anywhere? I'm still looking for it.
>>6985 you get it from the final gym fight with nomel and bro
>>6986 after it I mean, during mt clover
(65.62 KB 1382x841 Gunning.png)

Seeing this made me realize even further how bizarre to me PALF pretending guns, weapons and fighting between people doesn't happen in universe when wrestling and fighting as a sport clearly still exists, Brawly beat the shit out of a thug, Byron brings up ballistic missiles when talking about how tough Aggron is. Guns have always been implicit to exist in universe, but are largely ignored because kids' stuff and boomers throwing a fit, yet PALF's warning text got way bigger at the start about a dozen "mature topics" the game involves, but apparently GUNS are too leckin bad or something. >>6986 Ah noted.
>>6988 tbf guns and a school setting aren't a great mix
>>6989 That is a really good point, but- >Red and Ethan make a school shooter joke about Hilbert
>>6989 Tell that to Persona.
>Dead Space reference Huh, wasn't expecting that one.
>>6990 that is true, but it is still different then if cheren held up red at the podium asking him to lie during the crashout >>6991 it's japanese so it's okay when they do it
(67.08 KB 1382x841 This brings back memories.png)

I think I remember what this autism is trying to reference, ah /tg/, you used to be such a fun board. >>6993 H-haha, given (((Cheren's))) libshit stances and (((nature))) and that I'm pretty sure schizos from (((the tribe))) make a sizeable amount of schoolshooters, I guess it's just a matter of time before he loses his shit and pulls a metaphorical or literal gun on you trying to pretend he's totally a victim and that ridding the school of your presence is totally justified.
(104.76 KB 1382x841 Brings back memories again.png)

I was in one of the last Habbo raids, the last one I ever did was when some jewtuber called in for one on some shitty pedo furfag game, said raid resulted in the owners of shitcord themselves going ballistic and banning a fuckton of accounts. It's sad thinking about the fun memories and memes born from these, whatever the fuck the sharteens try to pull isn't even good enough to be an immitation.
(44.49 KB 1366x720 git gud.png)

(44.21 KB 1366x720 for you.png)

3 hours of attempts. the mech was simple, reflect, switch into ballastics with fire gem, nasty plot once, then jihad. the team after that? motherfucker wasting his time being team reddit when he could be champion of every region. I only won due to getting lucky from paralyze proccing. just a bloody battle where we're trading mon for mon. you couldn't pay me enough to go back and record that
>>6996 Congrats.
>>6997 thanks bro
>>6996 GG and congrats bro, I am dreading this fight.

Didn't take me even 2 seconds to realize what those shapes are meant to represent. >>7003 Oof........

(49.01 KB 1382x841 Not that tough.png)

Clover has an odd habbit of giving fat pedo fucks incredibly good themes.
>>7018 oh is that what happens if you take the drink? I didn't wanna get diddled kek
Been trying to win the bike race for a bit, but the bike controls are so fucking awful that I just can't. >>7019 Kek, can't say I blame you.

A E S T H E T I C!
It fucking hurts how shit the IV on my Pokemon are and I don't have the patience to breedtism anymore this far in. I can use 2 caps to fix that issue in 2 instances, but the choice paralysis hits in full effect, I never beat Salt and Shadow because of my lovely habbit of focusing on the Pokemon I love rather than the ones that would actually get me results.
Rosa became a Lopunny offscreen at some point, then got turned into another clone

>>7024 it's one of the few issues with clover, stingy bottle caps and no mints. >>7025 that's actually cool that they made custom sprites for that
>>6974 >>Deltarune's new chapter is 3 days away Wouldn't it be funny if, within like 2 weeks, Rejuv v14 is suddenly taking a bit longer than expected. I hope renegade doesn't get used as a not!genoslide route(s) reference dumping ground. Although I'm almost willing to bet on a part where the A-team/six human souls throw you out of the interceptors body like how Kris does.
I just looked at what I missed getting since I skipped kekatoa, boy that would've been useful
>>7041 It fucking sucks how even the game makes note of how shit it is that mints and nature changing aren't a thing, yet provides nothing to compensate for it. >>7042 Renegade is basically a massive reference to the snowgrave route to begin with and I'm pretty sure Jan has absolutely no clue what to do past the shit he's ripped off. I fully expect the Soul Hotel rebellion to take place at some point, weirdly enough they seem really quiet throughout RENiggade. >>7043 In retrospect I really wished I did the Fontaba puzzles.
>>7037 >>7038 So what are you going to do with a Platoon's worth of Sabrinas?
>>7045 i don't have control over them, only the mindfucked original
(31.62 KB 1366x720 pisces.png)

guess I'll play pisces before odyssey comes out, trying to compare clover to it wouldn't be fair. seems like most of the issues have been fixed since you guys lp'd it
>the mc is actually the emerald rival who never completed the gym challenge >bailed out at tate and liza already ashamed of this character
(120.18 KB 931x931 1748852836575921.jpg)

I'll try to finish Clover tomorrow, I feel drained and haven't had the motivation to get anything done these past few days. >Decided to check-in on Claude since I haven't in ages >Claude.Jr got taken behind the shed >We now got Claude 3 >He nearly named his Ratatta "Niggles" >>7047 The issues with Pisces are that there's nothing interesting about the game, whatever the fuck they did to Hoenn just sucks, they butchered the region and the fakemon just do not look good. There's some really SOVLFUL details, but there's just as much shit that's just questionable to outright terrible, they also tried introducing a dozen new mechanics into Pokemon and overtuning a dozen moves and abilities.
>>7049 yeah I remember you guys had mixed feeling about it, but it can't be worse then seaglass or the dozen "emerald but hard" games out there. based claude 3
>due to a memory leak box's 3 and 4 are just gone from the game how do you even do that, this isn't the first game made from the emerald decomp, the fuck?
(44.55 KB 1366x720 how long was I gone for.png)

ENTER CAT THAT TURNS INTO A CAT. >>7093 GG. You playing through this makes me wonder if someone's made a guide on how to get stones or some of the more obscure evolutions.
>>7098 thanks bro. the wiki for this game seems barebones
Oh shit an ambush. Reimu basically saves me here because trying to fuck with the Shrine Maiden is a foolish thing to do. >>7099 Uh oh. There's some annoying obscure stuff in there such as the mon that has three different evolutions depending on what hit it last.
Luna Child runback. Admire the Geyser center's background.
Barely caught it, but Reimu crushed Wriggle. Meanwhile, Cirno runback. She only had two puppets to the others' three.
Rumia runback. I wonder what happened to the almost full team she had the first time.
every single pokemon has it's own paragraph dex entry. how would regular animals even exist in pokemon, even if they were exclusively used as cattle?
A couple fairies hold up Reimu so I can fight Medicine. She ran off somewhere and Reimu wants me to catch her but I don't know where she went.
Decided to check route 6 and this is the only new encounter. Also what the fuck ArcSys Mahvel.
Just remembered the clothing store exists.
Extra Puppet lore from these books I've been collecting. >Whoops I slipped into Gensokyo and can't go back >Shrine Maiden told me off, anyways, time to go the SDM >Gotta go solve Eientei's problem so I can get this special doll that can cut the World's Strongest Shrub >Beat up the Evil Team and got a boat. Man I hate stairs. >The Underground isn't so bad. Time to go to a nuclear plant Sounds like the journals are just recapping my adventure.

>Was looking up strategies to try building my Clover team towards for the final battles >Finds out by accident there's a stupid set you can pull off with Slowbro in regular Pokemon that can create infinite battles by endlessly recycling leppa berries That is hilarious and surprisingly not difficult at all to pull off. I'm also highly considering training up the Biteki I caught, really good IVs overall, I'm just revising the sets and thinking about what bullet I want to bite, I'll definitely spend the 2 bottlecaps I got to fix some IVs, I'm just not sure on what. >>7111 Did Kris rape Noelle? I didn't see /v/ talking about Deltatroon much today, unless the jannies are nuking threads of it. Wait, I just realized. >Noelle a sweet blonde girl in a forced dyke romance with a purple bulldyke >In the "evil" route she gets raped by the MC >Melia gets corrected by the RENiggade MC when she steps out of line >Jan somehow predicted this shit >>7114 I just found a thread talking about it, holy kek, what the fuck were they thinking?! >>7115 Surprisingly no, sadly I did not know of this beautiful monster for this long.
>>7115 kek, fair enough. I'm not planning on looking for anything until I eventually play (pirate) it myself anyway
>>7111 thanks bro. do you honestly believe jan is above adding rape? reborn sure wasn't >>7112 for the final fight I bet fug on keketoa would be a great idea to grab
Just wanna say this attack has that stock sound effect I love that shows up in a lot of things but he only one I can recall is Klonoa when you hit a boss. >>7116 A dude on Showdown ran into a Showderp champ and was a good enough sport to sit in that loop for over a thousand turns so the turn count could match his username.
Man, Medicine really hauled it. This place was pretty far from the Geyser Center. >Medicine feels like the puppets are only being used as tools and sympathizes with them as a living doll herself Makes sense. And being the leader of the "Evil Team," her theme got remixed for this. https://youtu.be/S48mD0HzzRM?si=MynupKK0CuTo0YLO
>>7118 To be fair, Ame is basically a closet chud with all the ""coincidences"" in her game, Jan on the other hand is very much a proud LGBTQAIOTERSGBWEADFC+ ally and will shy away from plagiarizi-err...""referencing"" it if it gets cancelled by them *though if we're being realistic it probably won't, there will be lots of Olympic level mental gymnastics once more people know**
The 5% encounters for Route 8. Also holy kek this move just launches a puppet into the air.
>>7122 >i-it's just symolism for rape, not actual rape! it would be funny
I have an anonymous source deep within Jan who informed me that there will be a 3 hour unskippable scene where the renegade protagonist will rape venam while forcing melia to watch
>>7124 That's definitely where it's going kek I'll kneel to Toby GOD and buy the game out of respect if he confirms she actually got raped in Chapter 5 in 5 years
>Oh hey I forgot a Puppet in an earlier route >The turn I seal it it uses Final Gambit and knocks itself out for me Thanks Ruukoto
I apparently missed that the Dream World had encounters. This is the rarest at 3.3%. I now have six puppets left before I have a full dex.

I'm doing a few rounds of EV training just to make sure and trying to get Biteki to at least near level 100, I had nearly forgotten a kike stole my lucky egg. >Do you believe Jan is above dding rape? Wouldn't put it past him, one scene in renegade like I've brought up earlier almost implies that's what happened, though like RG said, Jan unlike Amethyst is a giant faggot who shies away from truly edgy shit, but he's also into some really retarded fetishes like mindbreak and yurishit, so who knows. >>7119 Holy kek. >>7118 Probably, but Borreload and Sven have been with me for so long that it would feel wrong to switch either of them out.
>>7118 Meant to tag this one.
>>7129 unfortunately biteki might be outsped by this annoying bastard

>Jewtube and twatter are finding out and they're losing their shit >Chapters 3 and 4 were so lacking in anything even remotely interesting that the rape and cuckshit is basically all that keeps coming up >The same shit stain that ruined Skullgirls worked on these chapters Holy fuck what an absolute disaster. >>7131 Ah shit, I remember how much of a bitch this fucker was to deal with on Coldsteel's fight, I think I have a choice scarf though.
Hopefully the last time I bring up Deltatroon, but wow, even the music we got in these two chapters was painfully mediocre to outright bad and this is coming from someone who begrudgingly liked some of the tracks. There's so many remixes too.
now i need to see chapter 4 to know what the fuck you guys are talking about
>>7133 multiple chapter 3 songs were just BIG SHOT slowed down or played differently
fuck it I'm switching to palf, contests be damned. if anything you were underselling how often you get status'd in this, and I keep having trouble escaping from wild battles so I get status'd in those as well. this is definitely a game that needs the estus mechanic some other ones have, or teachable aromatherapy handed to you at the start. it's frustrating as hell
>never went back after the initial lp so I'm right at the senile professor oak arc joy
>>7136 Sorry Pisces didn't pan out for you bro, I got extremely frustrated by the time I reached the second gym and just gave up. >Going back to PALF Look up the dex for mons that have moves that get a ton of points if they go first and then see if said Pokemon can also get moves that up their priority in contests, the other things that matter are popularity, the 3 popular types given said contest and then contact moves, contact moves give you a ton of points, I'll look up to see if there's a good mon you can use for this to help you out. Your types were Fighting and what else again?
>>7138 mainly ice, fighting, and normal. I'm all the way back in week 7 so I have time to up coordinator knowledge
(34.22 KB 474x505 OIP (6).jfif)

(184.68 KB 1000x707 R.jfif)

>>7139 Off from a quick look, these two seem pretty decent for contests, I'll give a further look into Normal types to see if there's anything good there. What's your team like?
>>7140 >alohan ninetails >diggersby >the yellow rat >snorunt >meditite >torracat
can you actually get a recommendation from cherry, if so how many cyclizars do you need
>>7141 Torracat is not great, but Incineroar is amazing, sadly reaching Incineroar would require a titanic amount of effort to reach before contests. Shillrat is not good, but decent-ish. Thundershock, Nuzzle, Thunder Wave and a few other moves Jobberchu can get via the Foreverals are also fantastic, Charm increases priority and all those Electric moves do amazing if performed first, all moves that get a STAB boost give you a ton of energy you can spend to either gain a small priority boost or gain a major point boost during turns 5 and 10, I recommend saving up on points, other decent contest moves are Rock Smash and Wing Attack, since they also give you a massive point bonus if executed first, just keep in mind they won't give you a ton of energy if they're not STAB. >>7142 You get nearly 10 points from her if you catch 5 of them, I also highly recommend resetting in the fields for a bit with Dawn and Leaf until you get a good one, Cyclizar is a fantastic Pokemon and you get a lure that brings them out.
>>7143 man I hate contests, just let me jihad the other trainers
>>7144 I almost grew fond of contests, but I'm not gonna sit here for even a second to pretend this shit wasn't horribly executed, there's almost no strategy beyond going for the few popular mons you can get and abusing the few mons you can get that get good setup and strong first turn moves, they obviously want you to use Jobberchu for this fight, but despite his amazing movepool potential, he's not good enough for this.
>>7145 I might just go with ninetales, 3/4 moves increase priority and are STAB, I just need to replace nasty plot with something that would take advantage of going first. but that's weeks away I think
this section is new. I think this is the intro for that streamer girl you guys were posting. gardenia running in and out of frame during the battle was funny
(1.31 MB 1366x720 she should play clover.png)

alright weird neet thing, you hate cheren too? instant friend status. >radioshock jeez
Calling it a night, hopefully with a few finaly revisions I'll be ready for Keketoa. >>7146 It's not bad, but it doesn't have a payoff move that gives you a ton of energy and points for going first. >>7147 >Pic name H-HAHAHAHA............about that........ You'll need an energy drink, a magnet and an ultra ball to appease la gremlina, you get a ton of points with her for getting those, the issue like RG showed is that they moved her event to week 10, so we don't get to experience her event without using some glitches right now. I don't like her, but she's definitely a femanon.
this was just stuck in a sunken factory full of clodsires
>The Garden of the Sun. A field filled with magnificent sunflowers. A gathering place for many fairies and other Youkai.
I have discovered the AI can input read becaus I popped three full heals and every time Yuuka's AI used the sleep/freeze move that same turn.
Yuuka hints that the source of this incident might be from outside of Gensokyo. Her little hut had another Youma book.
I would swap someone out for this if the grind didn't take so long.
>Well that whole evil Team biz was a bust but a certain Youkai mentioned another world involved with this Yeah these really are basically our own journal.
why did oak and cherry switch classes in the first place?
>>7147 Wow, that activated really early, to the point where I think it's a bug kek. Mine didn't activate until I got to week 9 on my second playthrough Probably something related to the Celebi wing accidentally triggering it early >>7159 I don't think it was ever explicitly said, but I assume it had something to do with Oak (finally) realizing that nearly everyone was failing the tests
>>7159 Oak finally realized that sucking Red's dick only and not paying any attention to the rest of his class, and that not bothering to getting accustomed to being a teacher at all, while also refusing to adapt to the times caused him to screw up badly and nearly ruined the future of most students in his class, he wanted to see the difference between his method's and Kris' to see where he went wrong. I really hope professor Oak also took lessons from the class trips thing and actually learning useful skills during class. The game is hinting towards us getting access to a new field or forest zone soon via Serena's event and a few other things, so fingers crossed.

>If you do Hilbert's event after Springday you get an unique line here about Rayquaza VGH........such SOVL..... Weirdly and sadly enough the week 9 update is lacking a lot of these tiny details.
(1.93 MB 1575x917 As usual.png)

I'm just back into Clover soon before I start getting frustrated again.......... I find it funny how hard the game discourages you to take the Larvesta, it's not good in contests, it's obviously not gonna do very well as is with it's stats outside of attack being so shit and it evolving so late, no Foreverals either, my biggest worry is that not getting the Larvesta egg here locks you out of Iron Moth or Slither Wing later, I am going to be fucking furious if I can't get my beloved dino moth later because of this.
ENTER BUDDHIST PRIME. She'll tell me about how to access other worlds but first I gotta fight her followers.
Enter BARK MACHINE PRIME. Her lead procced an accuracy drop twice. How the Hell.
ENTER STAND USER AND HER CHILL CLOUD MAN STAND. Single mon still surprisingly scary even with a 10+ level gap. It's been a decade and I'm still surprised they made her playable in a fighting game.
ENTER EL CAPITAN. She had a Disguise lead which was really cheeky. She was one of top favorites when I still new and playing with her in 17.5 made me look at teen me and go "Yeah I get it."
ENTER BIG CAT OF NOT BEING PLAYABLE. If it wasn't for Kyouko Shou would be the only one in this gauntlet who hasn't been playable in at least one game. >She lost her Pagoda during the fight Maybe there's a reason she's never been playable.
Enter AYY LMAO. She's not a part of this gauntlet and did not realize it until after the fight.
I challenge Byakuren who wonders why we're trying to stop since we're so good at puppet handling.
She tells me about Makai and an entrance behind the Hakurei Shrine and then gives me another Youma book. >Byakuren was useful. How do I open that door at her temple?
Set foot in the mountain and almost immediately I'm greeted by Reimu. She thinks I'm involved in this incident. Her power Aya lead is still a nightmare.
>Says I'm gonna finally finish Clover >Gets so tired from doing a ton of chores in the morning that I just colapse after dinner and sleep nearly the whole day away >Still feel dead tired >Not even coffee is helping Fuck's sake.

>The rapeshit mindbroke a ton of faggots >Yet funnily enough the new chapters barely seem to have gotten any traction, not a lot of views on jewtube or people watching streamerfags play it or even that much discussion about it >For context when chapter 1 and 2 came out /v/ would literally only talk about Deltatroon nonstop, you'd get get tourists from many other sites buzzing around just talking about it >There's more than a dozen very unsubtle metaphors about "deflowering" and "pumping contents into an egg" >Deltatroon is acting 101 like Rejuvenation where it baits the player with cute waifubait scenes only to cuck the player with dykeshit with 2 characters that have 0 chemistry in the exact same way as Melia and Venam, literally in the exact same manner too >(((Toby))) forces the player to watch extremely cringe inducing forced lesbo garbage in one route in a very long hallway simulator section >The other route ends with you raping Noelle >The extremely fucked up cuckshit with Toriel I can't turn my eyes away from this trainwreck, holy fuck. >>7177 I haven't stopped drinking water or eating a pretty varied and healthy diet, I've been getting sleep whenever I can and doing exercises occasionally, but I still feel really weak. Not sure if I've been feeling sick because of the weather shifts. >>7178 The more I learn about Brendan, the more I don't like him, but it's not like Whitney's case were I start to utterly loathe him. He's not a bad person, just a complete retard who clearly shows off the problems of being fatherless, yet it's not like his dad didn't try to connect with him or that he hates him, he did, yet Brendan threw a massive tantrum regardless. Then there's the way he used to treat Jasmine and then eventually Wally, it doesn't paint a good picture. Meanwhile Calem despite having his issues of trying to forsake his own wellbeing to help others and letting people walk over him like a figurative bridge, is still incredibly based despite being a K*losian from an extremely libshit family. I guess if I had to rank my favorites on a whim, it would probably the: >Sabrina >Skyla >Gardenia >Serena >Calem >Sonia >Ethan >Rosa >Wally >Bea I also like Hilda a lot and I'm really curious what's going on with Misty (and Melody, but you can't build bonds with her), but having to deal with Hilda means more often than not having to deal with Hilbert and Misty's events are interesting but feel like they only establish the coin drop that's gonna come soon. Silver would be a contender if his level 3 didn't ruin his character completely for me.
Speaking of Silver, I wonder if his level 3 event is tied to courage maxxing, the only time I got his event to show up in my list was in the GRUNT run where I courage and knowledged maxxed, meanwhile with Arthur I didn't reach the level 10 courage cap that spawns the tougher grunts to fight.
>>7180 tbf norman did up and leave them to get that spot in hoenn, but they also don't make it clear why his mom took so long to move them out there as well, and brendan makes it seem like it was years. It's also a little weird that brendan would know about contests while still living in johto, the closest thing I can think of is the kimono girls, and that's a whole different can of worms. It seems like a hamfisted way to do the "sports star has a kid that doesn't want to do sports" story, but it could be worse
(1.93 MB 1575x917 Notto bado 4.png)

>Really good Smoochum >Magby and Wynault (Deino too) have atrociously bad IVs Ah fudge. >>7182 Sinnoh is right next door to Johto and Jasmine is funnily enough part of the contest circuit in SPBD, I don't recall if she was in the original and true gen 4 games since I only bothered with contests in Hoenn.
>>7183 that would do it then, kek. I thought there was a line in gen 3 that hoenn was either the only one that did contests or that they were the first to do contests
(1.21 MB 1366x720 ah I see.png)

nvm fuck brendan and may
>>7183 how many of the new characters introduced are going to be assholes
>>7186 didn't mean to tag that
>>7184 I haven't played Emerald in probably over 8 years by now and I mostly avoid playing Hoenn hacks because they're typically completely dogshit outside of a few rare exceptions, so I wouldn't remember. >>7185 Yeah........this really did not earn me points with either of them..... >>7186 THANKFULLY I think it's just her, and to be fair she was a raging retard in ORAS and in the manga too. Would you believe me if I said she's probably tied with another character in terms of trying to ruin Wally's life? >Didn't mean to tag that No worries, it just keeps happening on this site for whatever reason.

this is a way better hilda moment then the theatre one >>7194 if it comes back you know what must be done. yeah it really seems like the only meaningful thing is you learn something about misty
>>7195 This is why I like her, she's a bit of a tard, but her being a wannabe mom is cute to me and could lead to some incredibly adorable setups with how much the MC is just as much of a tardwrangler. Kek, what saddens me is that going to the teather would be such a perfect opportunity to get contest knowledge in some ways since you're seeing high art with a lot of focus on presentation. I'm still really confused as to the point of contest knowledge, I don't think it teaches you anything extra or gives you any major advantages.
yes the most devastating weapon of all time that needs to be buried in the annals of history. btw tyranitar use earthquake on this small village. outside of strong bombs I can't think of many "mortal" weapons that would outclass 90% of pokemon, I really don't get the stance this is going for. shooting a gun at someone is just as bad as ordering an animal to vaporize them, or rob them, or mind rape them as some pokemon can do, etc. the third one really gets my goat, are you fucking kidding me? are wars that are waged now fought with honorable duels only, switch instead of set, items on? what is this

>>7197 I love this game, but this is just retarded as Cuckguard when it comes to this shit, It's bullshit and I do not believe it no matter what they say, even Byron references ballistic missiles and there wouldn't be an airforce and allusions to fighter pilots if those weren't a thing. I think it might be revisionist shit since it calls AZ a tyrant despite the stories that are told in Kalos being painted with a lot of nuance and clearly paint him as a tragic and broken man, hard to say if that's being lied about under the guise of revisionism, if not, then Cuckguard somehow scores a point over PALF on something, which is bizarre.
>>7199 it also conflicts a little with that scene where mallow is talking about the unovans invading aloha for their banana farms. she mentions that the tapus destroyed 80% of their battleship fleet and a bunch of pikachu just drowned and neither batted an eyelash. then you get the mc in the library scene acting like "wait people didn't just capture them and make them prisoners, they KILLED THEM?!?!?!?" like bro you think people didn't die when the tapu brought down the fist of god on their fleet? they really should've went for something like "they used to use weapons that used pokemon like batteries and it killed or severely damaged the pokemon so we don't use that anymore" instead of acting like wars weren't always terrible

>>7201 I don't know what's dumber, the fact they think humans never built tools to fight against and with Pokemon, something of which Gamefreak themselves played with as did the anime in the Lucario movie where it shows full blown wars between nations and their Pokemon compatriots or the fact PALF wants to pretend guns and cannons are THE ULTIMATE EVIL when in the same universe there's Pokemon like Gengar and Dusclops/Dusknoir that have been known to do things so heinous and fucked that owning one would practically consist as a fucking federal crime.

me deciding to not pay attention to deltarune was one of the better choices I've made in recent years anyways I was looking at some games to play and this one caught my eye this game is apparently inspired by the Hyperion Cantos series and was suposed to be an adaptation of the novels >14 different Pokédex to complete and over 500 Pokémon to catch! 14? I guess... >A complex story with two main routes and multiple character arcs, with a morality system based on the player's decisions can't wait to see how much this really matters >Only Pokémon, moves, abilities and items up to gen V are available. idk about this >Base stat changes made in gen VI and onward are not implemented. I know said stat changes were small but is this really necessary? I'm sure Butterfree having 90 special attack wasn't hurting anyone >Hidden Abilities do not exist. Some Pokémon have had their Hidden Ability reassigned as a regular one why? >A Pokémon's critical hit chance depends on their base Speed, ranging from 3.91% for Shuckle to 8.3% for Deoxys-S (for reference, the chances are 6.25% in gens II-VI and 4.17% since) nigger

I don't think I'll bother with the Deadly Seven since Vyglass' sendoff felt like a definitive end. I'll miss my bros whenever 2.0 comes around, which is supposedly pretty soon. Man thinking about Clover, halfchan and seeing the ending just makes me depressed how much things changed for the worst, remembering the golden days that aren't coming back and seeing an ever bleaker future right ahead of us, seeing what became of halfchan after all these years of neglect, seeing it's soul rot away, it hurts.
>>7266 >>7267 >>7268 >>7269 congrats bro. it's amazing it didn't happen sooner, I can't believe all it took was a pdf file
>>7270 Thanks bro. It's what happens when you hire a legion of jeets, niggas and faggots from (((certain universities))) to do subhuman work on a site that they're too much of a bunch codelets to do, it became pretty obvious halfchan was turned into a honeypot controlled by feds when Moot left.

>>7273 Melody's interruptions don't affect you after you pop the Celebi Wing in the time loop, there's a few other small changes as well, but I haven't made note of all of them. >>7276 It helps pay for tuition AND is a way of getting revenge on Klara and potentially Melody, should you dislike her.

>>7277 meditite was the only one that could increase priority and take advantage of first spot, but man this is still confusing. he's also not the type of mon the judges want to see so that's just -2 points at the end, very restrictive
(62.15 KB 619x671 7xsrmu.jpg)

>>7280 Oof, I'm sorry bro. What saddens me is that even if you win here, I'm pretty sure you get very little of actual worth, and Melody just wins the tryouts anyway, because of course she does. Now that I know me winning hard in contests can allow me to completely destroy Klara, it is no longer an option to win, IT'S AN OBLIGATION. I genuinely think the contest system needs a hard rework to make a lot more Pokemon better, currently the selection is way too limited in terms of Pokemon that can do very well and far too many mons have movepools that actively harm them too.
>>7281 does losing the dnd session contest actually bar you from the tryouts? the part where just not having the exact pokemon the judges want gets you negative points and the others +30 needs to go, my actions and time are limited in this game, I can't just go to every route and catch mons without sacrificing a lot of other options
>>7282 Oh no, the DnD session is much harder than the actual tryout, you just need to keep the energy uses in check, use STAB to get more energy and if it comes down to it, keep an eye out for the judge hype meter, if you can get the hype bonus from the respective judge in coolness or cuteness twice or so, you're practically set for victory. I recommend checking the dex for the mons you have and can use to see what their moves can do, Jobberchu is really good here, just put Rock Smash, Wing Attack, Thundershock, Nuzzle or Thunder Wave in his movepool and he's a decent enough contest contender.
>>7283 is it just stab that gets energy or stab and the judges like it AND not getting jammed?
Self-aware, are we now.. The amount of time you getting forced to play with other trainers and teams is alot. Even tho it does help with world building since people can do shit with out the protag being there to do everything.
>>7284 A bit of both, I'm pretty sure using the strong priority moves in contests give out a bit of extra energy too, but I'm not entirely sure, using a lot of STAB is the best way of building a ton of energy. Togedemaru is from what I checked, the near undisputed king of contests right now, the only thing the poor rodunt rodent can't win is popularity contests sadly since it isn't a shillmon or KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO mon. >>7285 One of the few issues UT has is the constant character switching, sadly it doesn't seem like this is gonna stop next version.

>>7289 Next week by context clues is gonna be heavily tied to the battle team and squad battles it seems, the setup with Iono and her event being moved to next week, the new dungeon mode and such all are pointing towards that direction, there's also the whole thing with the "ghost", I had my suspicions it could be Agatha, but the game hints she's dead and whoever it was talking seems to be a Cheren tier reddit atheist, so it's really up in the air as to who it could be, all I know is that it's a woman and one with a pretty rude disposition. >>7290 GG.
>>7290 sorry, gg >>7292 sounds like melody to me
>>7293 Nah, it's definitely not her, not only does the text color not match, but the way the woman talks is way too different from Melody.

(1.79 MB 1366x720 rowan got lucky.png)

hopefully I can rematch rowan later, ninetales was gonna sweep damn it
>>7296 The game treats skipping your responsibilities and potentially dooming your future by running from the battle with Rowan as the correct option here, at least that's what it felt like considering you don't get a nice heart to heart or anything different if you beat him outside of Lance complimenting you for once, which.......is nice.........I think.....?
I'm halfway considering cutting my losses and just going with the really good Smoochum, because I'm so sick of resetting for better eggs, for fuck's sake, why don't these fuckers have set IVs? Would it kill them to give the player baby mons with 20IVs each? These are meant to be the spawn of champions' Pokemon.
(1.96 MB 1366x720 an oasis in a desert.png)

what a great scene, even from the piano woman herself. >>7297 until we get the eventual flashback of lance's tragic backstory I'm going to assume any approval from him is a backhanded compliment. it would be much worse if you stop the frenzied dodrio and rowan chastised you for it

>>7299 It's a really sweet scene, shame I couldn't really use Dodrio in any of my runs and my obsession for proving my team's worth demands I defeat powerful opponents. >Lance's tragic backstory The more I replay the game, the more obvious it becomes Lance somehow knew the MC's family, not helped by the fact Lance even shares some physical characteristics with Red and both of them canonically sharing the same champion theme. >>7301 >>7302 I tasted blood in my mouth seeing this scene, I want revenge, the potentially shittiest part is that there was another voice coming from Klara's dorm, so we might have to put up with that VAPID WHORE'S friends too. >>7320 I think I played Emerald close to like 50 to 60 times over the last 2 decades and despite LITERAL WEEKS of trying to find it, I never managed to catch a single Feebas, and I'm far too fucking aware of how miserable poffin grinding is and trying to get the right berries for that dogshit by yourself since they locked the good methods for it to multiplayer or getting a microscopically small chance of seeing the guru in your game if you won the lottery, and there's fags that complain about Runerigus and Sirfetch'd being hard to evolve.
>>7321 >Route 119 *Random Six Tiles which is Randomly Changed whenever Trendy Phrase changes* it's not even that good for it to be locked behind such an insane catching method. even now when devs give it an insane movepool and life orb on rain teams its just kind of bulky.

I hope PALF makes it a friendship evolution like you said, because I don't think those fuckers are very keen on letting the player get trade evos just yet and I have no fucking clue how they'd tie Feebas' evolution into Miilotic behind contests.

>>7331 >People only started noticing Game Freak's non-Pokemon projects with Little Town Hero and this As someone who loved Harmoknight and Drill Dozer, I feel robbed.
>>7335 I knew Drill Dozer, but never got into it, people only took notice of Little Town Failure because it actively took a massive amount of resources away from SWSH's development and yet still came out an utter travesty that was so poorly made that you can get softlocked in battles constantly despite not making a single mistake, so few people played it that it has one of the lowest player scores on Steam of all time. It feels stupid to say it but it was such a colosal failure that despite having some good waifubait, it has no porn made of it, because nobody played it or cares about it. Beast of Corruption only proves without a shadow of a doubt that Gamefreak simply does not care and doesn't even have to anymore, because Pokemon despite being garbage, still makes them that much money.

>>7353 congrats
>The Good It absolutely oozes with flavor at every turn with Puppet locations mirroring where characters live or hang out, Moves that reference spellcards, and being able to just find random named characters out and about like it's no big deal. Medicine, while not that imposing a character, made perfect sense as the leader of the evil team, being a living doll herself. Every puppet is, at worse, usable. Some puppets are just strong on their own and some has a cool gimmick like Shinmyoumaru having Huge Power for both attack and Defense. Even Power Suika, even if it's still Truant, got Truant with added Mold Breaker. This game shows it's an evolution of the romhacks that came before it. >The Eh How money is handled. Battles don't give you money directly, they instead have a chance to drop items that can be sold for money. If you don't skip fights you'll end up with fat pockets like you would in a real Pokemon game, but having to sell the junk can get kind of annoying. >The Bad Statuses don't feel as impactful in this. Burn is just Poison down to having its own version of Toxic since another status is now the dedicated Attack stat killer. Paralysis doesn't have a full para chance and is instead just the speed cut and Paralysis+ is just a harder speed cut along with making moves impossible to avoid which is eh when the average accuracy for non 100% moves sits closer to 90-95 than 75. The big one here is it also has a similar problem to mainline Pokemon where the second you get a bit overlevelled the game can just never catch and it's only compensation is input reading. The enemy teams seems to have some clever sets but 9/10 times I had the stats to roll them over. The only time a boss was on par with me in levels was Kanako, who I talked to expecting only dialogue and was suckerpunched with a fight. It was terrifying and it was fun except when I almost got Moody Cheesed. All in all, this was a labor of love and I'm glad I finally got around to playing this over what I was going to play, even if it was a spur of the moment thing caused by that installation method.
Was trying to get debug to work with BB to be able to not be forced to spend ages breeding or trying to catch low % encounters that will inevitably have shit IVs, I don't remember how debug works and I can't compile PBS files without it. >>7353 Congrats.

This truly is an open world game because it's very empty and not really worth it to explore. mentioned it before but every part of the story has been ripped out, including rival encounters, climate trio wrangling, the team hideouts are mostly barren other then some items. The last wally fight is in though for some reason, by the time you get to it he's level 63~ and you're 78. I had it on hard with strict level cap but it's really generous with how far you can get from where the gym leaders are at. The achivements are generic, catch x amount of pokemon, get the gym badges, run this many steps, etc. the rewards are not good either, trainer exp and battle points are both things you get in large amounts just playing the game. You get most of the battle items (life orb, choice items, protective pads) and evo items from a shop in oldale, you just need battle points for it, something you get from beating trainers. That leaves the only things you really get from exploring is a mega stone and a tm or two, which matters less when you unlock the ability to just pay 4 bp to teach egg moves, 6 for tutor moves, and 8 for tm/hm moves. sure you can find some good things here and there, but blitzing the gyms will get you tons of tms, the hm items, catching charm, exp charm, the rods, everything you actually want is locked behind badges. It kinda feels like elden ring, where you know 80% of the time you clear a dungeon it's gonna be a miracle/spell reward, but hey it COULD be a summon or str weapon if you're lucky. Other then BP you also get trainer exp from beating any pokemon, trainer, or catching pokemon. you then get trainer levels, which get you trainer points, which you can spend to get trainer skills. This is an awful system. There's a ton of useless abilities, like every point in healing step will heal your pokemon 1% per level every 100 steps, think it's 20 points to level it up each time, and I couldn't find a way to respec. The point cost doesn't change and some are always at 15-20 points to level it once, and the only ones worth leveling in that range are the skill that gets you more trainer exp each fight and maybe gold rush that increases trainer money payout. oh, and you have to pay 5 points to level each individual IV stat, though it does it for every pokemon you own. By the end of this run I was level 114 but barely had enough to put some into gold rush and getting more trainer exp, and a handful divided between the iv stats. Maybe you get more during NG+, but why the fuck would I want to play this again? At the end your level cap is 78, but trainers it was around 63~, but the league is ?? for some reason. why not just say 78 unless you're doing some bullshit? The final kick in the balls is you aren't allowed to save during the elite 4, which is dumb already, but there are two additional reasons why it sucks. Number one, the teams they have are slightly random, and they have the chance to change every encounter, not every league run, so unless you save state after the fight starts it can change. Second of all, this pokemon emerald romhack can crash during fights. It's done it 3 times, one of them being during fighting drake, so if I didn't save state that would've been a restart due to something out of my control. For people that want to do the challenge without save states, you would have to build a team that could take on multiple versions of their teams AND hope that the game doesn't crash during any of the fights. This dev wants to add in the kanto region eventually, but maybe add some things to do first. proper ubisoft title
>>7376 Congrats and sorry bro, this is why I can't bring myself to play open worldslop anymore, I don't understand the damned point of removing rival battles and kino story moments, they practically ripped the soul out of the game for a shitty battleslop simulator.
>>7384 thanks bro. they really sacrificed way too much in order to get the open world to work, it was like dollar store emerald in terms of soul

using the power of my phone I can somewhat say what this says, basically >this will be a short game, like 3 hours or so >it will play a lot like a mystery dungeon game >it is completely unrelated in every possible way to reminiscencia, it's not a sequel/prequel/alternate history in any way shape or form
>>7387 Congrats. >>7390 18 actually. Aus only managed to win after she seduced a human man, left him to take care of the children (Palkia and Dialga) and both of them went fucking full murder mode after the unspecified giant killed their dad, Giratina was theorized to have been born from the conflict between Aus and the Ghost giant, as in the Ghost giant hit Aus so hard that it gave birth to Giratina. Aus didn't really win, she fled like a bitch and let her human hubby tie to manipulate her children into doing the job, bitch move.
is anyone else planning on restarting in odyssey?
>>7393 Yeah, It'll be difficult to say goodbye to my shiny Magnezone though.
Couldn't play anything today, neighbor set fire to a bitch of trash in the morning and the wind blew all the smoke towards my house, woke up with a massive headache. I love the tiny little world building details in BB, the map feels incredibly cozy, albeit impractical to traverse. Ended up taking ages to try and breed a decent Aron and had no luck with that. >>7399 Not even the redditors that worship the ground Jan walks on liked the forced yurishit. Funny thing is that D*ltarune ended up the exact same, except Susie isn't unbearable like Venam, Toby tried to make a forced yuribait couple and nobody liked it. Ironically like I brought up before, in both games the cute blonde girl that is meant to have this incredible power locked within them ends up being literally/metaphorically raped by the player in the "weird/evil" route.
>>7399 jan has no self control or idea of what the story is supposed to be and not be so he puts whatever he's thinking about at the moment into the game whenever he decides to work on it and unfortunately for what little existed of venam's character jan decided 'hmm I'm a yuricuck I'll have my favorite two characters love each other!! great idea me! I'll reward myself for such a good decision with 3 more months of vacation from making the next chapter!' some time in development

Fuck sandstorm. I had quite possibly the worst type combo for his team. Everything outsped and OHKO'd my Electric types before I could even do anything. Ended up throwing together a makeshift rain team just to get rid of his weather advantage. Gyarados came in clutch with Intimidate and Waterfall oneshotting his Ground types. Electrode was my only answer to Quagsire and helped take down Skarmory too. My own Skarmory came in clutch taking hits for a long time while my other mons wore him down. Even Jolteon came in handy in a tight spot, switched into a predicted Shock Wave so Lightning Rod could protect my Gyarados long enough for it to KO Nidoking. Four tries.

>>7511 from what I've read on the faq you can only get EVs via the power items or vitamins should be able to equip the power item and grind wild encounters for whatever EV the item corresponds to
>>7531 And I think it has an eviolite too, so it's fucking unkillable, a fucking Pure Power boosted Drain Punch from Meditite powered up even further by a black belt and Helping Hand support is not even doing half to Lileep. This is so fucking retarded dude. >>7532 >>7533 Why is it some faggots fucking insist on making Ice gain bizarre resitances to stuff like Fairy or in this case Dark and Psychic? There's good cases to be made for Water/Ground/Flying resistances like anon said here, which is what I personally went with on my Rejuvenation mod as well. I'm pretty sure Ice also randomly resists Electric now, which is the only reasonable resistance they gave the type, but Electric is another type that is really not that great these days, so this just feels really petty.

>4 Wigglytuff with Filter Gay >>7532 I really hate when fangames make arbitrary changes to the type chart. At the very least, they could list out the changes instead of throwing a new type chart in my face expecting me to spot all the differences.
>>7535 >Electric I actually don't have that much of a problem with Ice resisting Electric compared to Dark/Psychic/Fairy since Ice beating Electric has happened before in other series. You can reason it with some cursory science knowledge. I just don't really see the point of doing so in Pokemon since Electric's value as a type isn't as high as it used to be in the earlier gens. As for the first boss, I opted for using Poison on the Lileep/Wigglytuff and focused on the Wiggly in particular since Lullaby/Strange Seeds are annoying to deal with. Once that was down, the buff bugs are the next most important things to get rid of since Spring Tango can get really out of hand if left unchecked.
>>7540 an actually interesting change for electric would be making steel and water weak against it
I don't really see the point of the Power stuff. Maybe if you want to save some cash, but you can just do some cursory mining and get anyone fully EV'd out. Like with pic related.

Offensively, STAB Fighting and Rock Head Wild Charge is passable. Anything that can help with those asshole Wigglytuffs are fine by me. Pokemon fangames and volcanoes, named a more fucked up pair.
Garde has some amazing support moves, but Psychic/Aether is such a dogshit type when LITERALLY EVERYTHING in the game keeps spamming Dark moves, Aether is such a stupidly retarded type that just does not fit in, it's like it's trying to be a discount Psychic and Dragon type and fails miserably at doing that, it offers nothing to the type chart, it actively just fucks with it, I genuinely do not like fanfic types, and this is probably one of the biggest examples why, at least......it's not "Sound" type......
>>7608 at least sound type does super effective damage against something. aether actually isn't useful against any type, it's like normal type but with the added benefit of being raped by sucker punch and sludge wave
>>7609 You'd think it would at least have one singular positive matchup against I dunno, Dragon or Dark, but nope. It feels like the dev tried his hardest to not make it a copy of Fairy, and ironically enough that backfired miserably.
>>7610 honestly if they just renamed fairy to aether that would've been fine
>>7609 Fire/Water/Flying/Ground is one of those resistance combinations that happens to pair well with the majority of the type chart. However, Gardevoir is saddled with Psychic which for whatever reason pairs poorly with most types. Offensively, Aether is probably one of the safest types in the chart to run as your sole offensive type too, which is useful considering this game's tendency to push you towards running heavy support mons. My problem with it, is that so many etrian formes happen to be X/Aether, so trying to use too many of them gives your team a nice big gaping hole to Knock Off/Sucker Punch/Crunch which sucks because Dark does not need to be any stronger than it already is.

SINGLE. FIGHT. Has Dark spam, likely because the dev expects you to use Aether types, which is just miserable, my selection of Dragon types is way too small and lacking as of right now too, so I have to mainly rely on Psychics. >>7613 They do not respawn, but you can find Sudowoodo as a common encounter in jagged peak. >>7614 Brenda's sprite looks pretty cute, I also forgot how badass Ceruledge's animated sprite was.

>>7617 Thanks bro. I find it funny how Scarlet bros won extremely hard yet Violet bros lost so hard they're not even in the competition. >>7618 I had more success with a screen setter in Meganium, since it's extremely bulky and Ice spam hasn't been prevalent as of yet.
>>7619 I took Feraligatr so Meganium was out of the question. There's also the fact that I'm trying to use the box art classes from EO3 which means putting up with Weavile. In fact, I think Ice's new resists are explicitly to make Poison/Ice a better combination.

Amalgolem was a cool boss in the source. Its a shame that Pokemon Odyssey doesn't really leverage the single boss fights outside of the optional Napier quest. I think including a couple as part of the main story would make it more interesting instead of fighting Captains.
Finally reached Gorenil, I hate that I couldn't catch a second Lapras and that I had nothing with Thief to nab those leftovers. >>7645 I had entirely forgotten about it, thanks bro. >>7646 There's Regi carvings in the abyssal temple, if I had to guess, they'll have some relevancy later.

It was four battles, three puppets each. Datara actually had coverage for each battle after the first so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Beating that unlocked reincarnation which is basically this game's equivalent of breeding where puppets can pass down IVs to another Puppet and you can change natures at the cost of going back to base stats. I'd probably fiddle with this if I wasn't basically done with this and it didn't take a heap of grinding to get puppets caught up even with an easily accessible grind strat.

Ah, so this is what the bells lead to. I know for a fact there's a secret that leads to the Paradox Dinobeasts, but I have absolutely no fucking idea how you're meant to access it.
>They're shoved into postgame OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE, I know they're good, but come on dude, so much in this hack is already bonkers as is and you had a massive pool of legendaries you could have added to postgame, but nope, just 4, only one of which actually belongs in postgame.

After seeing what she did to Wally in PALF, this feels oddly cathardic >>7770 There doesn't seem to be much going for postgame from what I've seen. It's really disappointing how half-baked the experience felt. Oh I see it now, I didn't understand the implications at first, but it quickly ramped up.
>Postgame starts with a bunch of refights Tangrowth, Aggron and Gardevoir haven't really done much for most of the lategame and even Magmortar can feel lacking at times. Tempted to do an overhaul but I'm not sure who to include.
this game needs a sigh counter
>>7763 ended up with 7 so I'll have 5 tries with wonder trade >select a region: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn huh there's a list of possible mons and though I'm not going to bother going through it all it seems like the only ones you can't get as soon as you unlock wonder trade are gated to the second stratum (and, I'm assuming, the level 30 cap) with only vulpix being gated to the third it might also be the only way to get more starters? it seems like it might be weighted a bit higher to get them also you can just keep re-trading the same mon back into it until you get what you want
One of the things that annoy me and show how rushed the later chapters were is just how few actually unique encounters there are by the late game, something that could have easily been remedied by stuff like a few extra regionals or actually just putting the regular form the regionals take the base from in some of the earlier or side areas to have some extra variety at least. I haven't even played EO myself but from what little I've seen it's pretty clear they could have gone much further with what they could do, but just didn't. >>7773 I kept a headcount and lost myself around the 15 or so, I don't think anything can come even close to beating Desolation's colossal 233 "HMPH" count (I think it actually went a bit higher than that, but I might have missed a few).

I only really get Wobbuffet in terms of Follow Me mons I think and Wobbuffet definitely doesn't justifty itself to run considering that's all it gets, Scream Tail gets some pretty good support moves, including Fake Out, but it's also a questionable pick due to being pure Psychic without much to offer otherwise. >>7793 >>7792 GG. >>7794 Thanks bro.

I think my memory is returning as to why I rushed the sixth Statrum last time around and one of the reasons my opinion of Odyssey soured a fair bit, you do nothing but walk on long and frustrating to traverse maps, the trainer spam starts to get progressively worse and eventually you start having to deal with area puzzles that are just tedious, meanwhile there's not story or anything happening, seventh Stratum so far has be a snorefest. >>7799 Thanks bro. >>7800 >>7801 I'll keep it in mind, I'm just really tired of having to constantly rebuild my teams, so I'm just stubbornly relying on bruteforcing my way with sheer power. Very bitter ending, obviously there's more to come. but it's not a feel good ending. I have incredibly mixed feelings so far, a lot of positive, but also a ton of problems with how things went and the pacing of the game. I'll have to gather them up and I'll try to put together my thoughts, not now, I'm way too tired. I think my biggest issue by far is how the new stuff didn't feel worth all the wait, the game is still good, unquestionably, the spritework, the music and even a few small features are unquestionably fantastic, but there's so much that's at the very least questionable and at worse mindbogglingly retarded.
>>7811 The ending is some weird mashup of two out of the three endings in 3 with a plot point from EO1 reworked to fit the setting. Postgame is definitely going to be a combination of 3's postgame and the rest of the stuff from the ending that this hack uses a basis.

(98.30 KB 1366x720 you absolute motherfucker.png)

that might actually be the most underwhelming postgame I've ever seen in anything. I didn't get the true ending, pic related spoils what you gotta do to get it and I don't feel like doing all that. not for this game.the postgame final boss is also really disappointing. Presentation is immaculate, but other then that this game feels shallow. It has a strong start but it doesn't do a whole lot with it's EO content beyond visuals. You get a lot of people transforming to increase their power so they throw out their pokemon extra fast I guess. The abyssal shard is stuck being a plot device and a very weak reason to use plusle or minun over the many other better choices in mons. The made in abyss influence really shows in the last 3 stratums as they fucking suck to get through. I'm giving it a 7, the presentation is great but the missed potential of what this game could've been is even greater.
>>7812 Noted, it really feels like a gut punch to pull this on the player with how hellish the final stride to reach the temple was, especially for me. I'm extremely divided if I even want to do the postgame given everything, I'm leaning towards not doing it since I typically avoid doing so in most fangames and I think the story and pacing was fumbled way too badly, and the Stratums since the third one have sucked so much dick to traverse back to back. >>7813 Thanks bro. >>7814 Congrats bro, and as I feared........fuck's sake........

>>7818 Finished, Main story. This game is very front-loaded. so much to a point after layer 5 it feels empty, battles and plot. Walking through empty areas and plots that can work thematically, since fewer people reach lower layers, yata yata, but yeah. Doesn't help who ever thought of the maze shit on the 7th layer needs help only exist to waste time lucky this is on emulator so you can save scum. Also im realizing how much of the pokemon i like are post-gen 4.
>>7820 congrats
>>7814 >>7815 The stratums were generally underwhelming despite the EO influence. Just run across, beat some filler trainers, put down the shortcut and move on. It was weird to see a game based on EO with barely any meaningful puzzles for like half the game (Stratum 1 to 4) and then in the second half, only like 2 of them seriously tried to do something remotely interesting (5/7). You cant even call Cyclopean Haunt's main game dive a real stratum since you're forced to fight all but two trainers and there's no puzzles. Not even a cursory slide one. Sea Quest was very simple and you can unlock every island after beating the 2nd stratum. Napier's quests where you fought "bosses" was something that they could have included in the main story to shake it up a bit instead of using the captains as gatekeepers for the entire thing. Which reminds me, there are 7 Captains but Karin/Cassian/Mathilda basically do nothing for the entire game. Rockey also falls flat during his one big moment too. It was essentially Manu/Luxin/Gutrune who mattered. Gutrune being found in the Porcelain Forest is amusing if you're familiar with EO3, as is Gallade being a part of her team. I dont like the Battle Bond Formes from a narrative standpoint, especially since some of them could just be regular Etrian Formes (Mawile for example) and the extra slot could be used for something else. I mean, if you're going to use EO3 as your basis, then the least you can do is include all of its playable classes... For the post game, I have the Blaziken, the Beldum and Xatu quests left along with going to wherever they want you to go to start the Abyssal Shrine stuff but meh. Maybe just for completion purposes.

Took me a bit longer to fully materialize what I was thinking since I didn't sleep at all last night and I'm still pretty tired. I frankly just don't know what to say about Odyssey, the game starts off mostly pretty well with a solid setup, I am not very fond of the idea of mashing up different games with Pokemon even if just as references given how I'm not one for fanficky scheisse, but Odyssey pulls it well enough that I was hooked by it and even interested in playing Etryan Odyssey by myself eventually. But it becomes clearer and clearer than the game's pacing and direction starts fumbling so badly, with Stratrums becoming and worse and worse and more frustrating to traverse and pointlessly enlongated for no better reason than the dev likely realizing how rushed the story and pacing became. The story unfolds way too fast and haphazardly for me to become truly invested, we literally only get to see Aimeé like twice throughout the entire game right at the start and then right at the end, she might as well not be there despite being a moving force of the plot, the villains literally just exist, the Abyssal fags are a joke, Frey is not that bad as a villain, but the game acts like he's this nemesis whom you had a long rivalry with despite the fact you see him all of like two times throughout the story I think, and you only face him once. What the fuck was the point with Zeus? He shows up and jobs so bad extremely hard offscreen. The final twist was honestly not that bad and felt like a massive gut punch, but again, it comes too late and doesn't give you time to breathe. That however doesn't begin to described how retarded it gets, with the story degenerating into shonenslop that's unbearably stupid and it genuinely feels like the dev does not want Pokemon to be part of the story anymore, especially considering how little they matter to the plot. I am left disappointed. The difficulty on hard was miserable, especially for me given my dualtype, HOLY FUCK, what was the dev thinking with the type chart changes? Ice needs buffs, that I do not disagree, but why these one? WHY NERF PSYCHIC?! Why remove Fairy? I understand hating the type, I certainly do some myself in many occasions, but without something to keep Dragon and Dark in check, both types just become extremely broken, especially Dark, Sucker Punch spamming is broken and only really has only counter in spamming Follow Me, that's it, awesome game design. Aether type has no justifiable reason to exist, it has no identity besides a type that's solely good for it's defensive merits, so imagine Steel before gen 6, except doesn't actually threaten anything, and in fact makes already broken types in Ghost and Dark EVEN BETTER by the sheer virtue of just existing. This is such a hairbrained idea that I don't know how it was allowed to continue being a thing, it's so dumb, going through the game with a Psychic/Dragon type was torture, simply just torture, but I don't think these are the only types that have it really bad, Grass also gets raped, the entire type chart is just fucked by the changes so much that it makes fights that normally shouldn't be too annoying turn into nightmarish slogs. F.O.E.s are probably one of the big selling points of the game aaaaaaaaaaaand......they're practically shoved aside past a certain point, it's not like they're not present but not much is done with them, not cool Super F.O.E.s akin to what I had hoped like fighting Kyogre in the ocean or Groudon in the volcanic caverns. Ocean exploration is actually practically pointless past a certain point and the quests tied to it rarely offer actually good rewards, Charon is probably the one island that is justifiably worth it on it's own due to how good the stuff you get there is, but that's mostly it, it's honestly not a bad feature and I had fun exploring, but there's not much to it at the end of the day and that sucks. I think to wrap it up I should at least bring up what I loved about the game so it doesn't seem like I outright hated it, the music is amazing, the GBA styled version of EO songs is great, the GBA version of Area Zero's theme is gorgeous and there's a few other renditions that are also lovely. The spritework is fantastic, unquestionably 9/10 in most instances. The game also has quite a few SOVLFUL things, but again, issues creep in with that, the home building at the end of the resort quest feels pointless, just a neat little thing and nothing else, the game has way too many missed opportunities like this sadly. I waited eagerly all this time for the final version of Odyssey and I'm not quite left with a positive impression, it's not that of a game, dear no, I've played much worse. I think this game earns a 7/10 for me, in many ways it shares issues and problems similar to what I had in Awakening, thank fuck none of the Stratums drag on for long as the wind temple or the mines and most everything in chapter's 2 and 3, otherwise my opinion would be much worse. I think I still recommend the game if you want a solid romhack, but it has issues, I'd probably recommend completing ignoring postgame though, seems like a tedious waste of time. >>7816 Yeah, that's just dumb. >>7817 >>7820 >>7824 >>7830 GG and congrats bros. >>7823 I didn't play EO and I can tell they fumbled things really bad, I expected way more Etrian forms, and the whole Battle Bond thing feels completely pointless and forgotten, I'm not using Minun and Pluse, it just isn't happening, the fact there's just like 5 BB forms is just dumb. The fact not all classes made it in is really stupid dude, it's not like the game looks places for them to expand on that front considering the dex starts to feel really small due to all the lacking legendaries past the fourth Stratum, since by then you have pretty much every non-legendary available to you.

>>7833 I believe Dark/Poison/Fighting/Ice covers almost every relevant fight in the game between themselves. After that you just carry Fire/Psychic for the few stragglers. The most amusing thing is Medicham spamming Darkness Fist, wiping both mons and dying to its own recoil. Also, I think the level cap pacing is utter ass and part of the reason why the second half feels like an utter chore. You have everything you could ever want outside of Salamence, Tyranitar and Dragonite by that point with more than half of the game to go...

But yeah I see what you guys mean about it dragging, there's not much reason to explore anymore so it's just pushing through all the mook fights. >>7841 GG, Protect has been a godsend for me in this game. The AI is really predictable, I've gotten it to waste so many turns while I set up.
>>7839 Pretty much, albeit I wouldn't recommend using Psychic types from my experience with the game. Limiting themselves to just gen 3 with a few gen 4 and 9 stragglers is fine, but there really needed to be more variety for the final layers, seeing nothing but repeats from Stratum 5 and upwards sucked, from there on out there's no new unique Pokemon and from what little I've seen of EO, they absolutely could have pulled more stuff to fulfill those gaps. >>7841 GG again bro.
>>7841 gg. I don't get why the dev made the level candy work like it did instead of just making infinite rare candy, or at least not apply to your entire party at once. it's not like you could go over level cap anyway

Postgame is pretty boring. You do a boss rush, catch some filler legends, use the level cap candy to set everyone to 99 and repeat the same degenerate strategies that work all game long because trying to play fair just doesn't work. I think this hack is like a 7/10 at best with most of that coming from presentation. I'm disappointed after hyping myself up over this hack for so long.
I guess that explains why he barely made any references to EO2 in this hack...

Took longer to put this together than I expected. >>The Team >Jake the Jolteon + Brutus the Gyarados Easily the all-stars of this run. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I won over 90% of my battles with them. The AI has no memory of Lightning Rod and plays into it at least once if it can. Even in the matches without Electric moves, Gyarados could often comfortably tank hits long enough to set up and sweep. Ran Crunch for Aether types, Bulldoze for coverage and speed control. Jolteon had Twave + Protect to disrupt the enemy's early game, along with Shadow Ball for coverage. I made the ballsy decision to run Thunder over other STAB options. It missed a fair amount of times, sometimes at crucial moments, but the Gen 3 BP and OHKO potential made it well worth the risk. >Thurstan the Magnezone Thor's stone indeed. This guy was a bulky alternate to Jolteon. Same disruption game with Twave + Protect, but also Sturdy to guarantee at least one free Twave in a tight spot. It also got some new Water coverage (along with Jolteon) which was extremely helpful in the first few stratums. >Karl the Skarmory My backup bulky set-up sweeper. Shift Gear is a crazy addition to its movepool, turned it into another fat DragonDancer. I will say that its power was often underwhelming, especially with Intimidate spam everywhere. But its natural toughness made it so that it could usually live long enough to muscle its way through. >Gretchen the Gliscor Came in handy back in stratums 2+3, but I honestly didn't use it much by the end of the game. Still it was nice to have another bulky mon, Electric + Ground immunity, and STAB Bulldozer. >Ylva the Salamence My third and final DragonDancer, the GOAT from pre-Fairy days. DD + Outrage (+ Brave Bird !!!) made it a strong late game cleaner, muscling through whatever was left of the enemy team after my other fighters went down. Intimidate is always appreciated and helped it sneak in a turn of set-up. Once again, I ran Crunch for Aether coverage and it really paid off in certain fights.

>>The Review, part 1 The presentation of this game is easily its biggest strength. You can tell that a lot of love went into the spritework. Character portraits were expressive and helped sell the shonen storytelling. Music was great even if it was all remixes. New Pokemon sprites were done well even if the designs were questionable at times. It was neat that they were all based on EO designs. I never played Etrian Odyssey myself, but I can appreciate what they were going for. That said, a lot of things felt like they were directly lifted from Etrian Odyssey and transplanted into a Pokemon game without any thought behind how that would work. I wanted to like the transformations and fantasy races, but they felt really out of place in Pokemon. It got silly watching characters go Super Saiyan just to throw Pokeballs out. Power-ups were pointless aside from the Battle Bond forms, and even those were mostly locked to NPC teams. I never once used the shillforms for Plusle + Minun. The opportunity cost of running two nearly identical Pokemon who aren't particularly good at anything was too great, especially since I was playing on Hard mode under type limitations. I get why the devs chose Plusle + Minun for their doubles-only hack, but it really would've been better if we had gotten one shillform like everybody else and had more freedom to build around it. The gameplay was mostly fine. All doubles was more fun than I thought it would be. Boss fights were challenging, and the game made it quick and efficient to come up with counter-strategies. Most of the new Pokemon were fun to use, although a lot of them felt designed primarily to be annoying boss fights. I will say that the Aether type was rather disappointing. A defensive type that resists the classical elements is a cool idea, but the Dark weakness was way too easy to exploit, especially in a game with no Fairy type. I really don't know what the devs were thinking with Dark type in this game. All of the gen 6+ buffs and more, none of the nerfs. Speaking of which, the type chart had a lot of arbitrary changes that came off as fanficky and nonsensical. Didn't affect my playthrough as much as it did for some people, but there were certainly some eyebrow-raising moments. New moves/abilities were a mixed bag, some lackluster ideas like Fafnir, some ridiculously overtuned shit like Wigglytuff's Sleep move.

>>The Review, part 2 The maps were all expressive and pleasing to look at. Gotta say though, the exploration was fairly dry, to the point that it became a chore in the later worlds. Not much to do aside from walk through differently colored mazes and dodge a few stealth sections, which were either trivial or impossible for me. Not that it mattered, the F.O.E.'s stopped being a threat around the lava stratum. I was really hoping the lower stratums would have more interesting gimmicks, but it was mostly cosmetic changes. The story was alright aside from the Pokemon battle nonsense, don't know how much of it was lifted directly from Etrian Odyssey. Characters were charming, though it felt like they were leaning too much into quirky character traits at times. The writers really wanted to go for a Gurren Lagann feel (I think one of the songs is even a TTGL remix) where every named character comes back and contributes to the final battle somehow. Lots of unique designs and thought put into them, but the character bloat was just too much at the end. Too many things happening too quickly. The final boss being the tentacle god's hitherto unmentioned middleman was dumb. Aside from the story itself, the ending felt dragged out and unnecessarily long, almost like there was one stratum too many. By the time you get to stratum 6, there isn't much plot left and no new Pokemon to catch or evolve, so you're just getting shuffled from one map to the next. The maps and spritework are still nice to look at, but the story is too advanced by this point for you to slow down and appreciate them like the earlier areas. The maps still try to be mazy anyway which just makes them feel like a slog. I didn't do much of the sidequest stuff, so I don't have much to say about that. Ocean exploration was a fun distraction from the main story and cool place to hide certain Pokemon. NPC quests were alright though the rewards were often a letdown for how much you had to do to get them.

>>The Review, part 3 To wrap up my thoughts, Pokemon Odyssey is a fun game but heavily carried by its presentation and early game. I would give it a 7/10 overall. The art/music is very good and the concept is quite unique for a Pokemon game, although a lot of that comes from borrowing elements from other series, some of which don't mix well with Pokemon. The Pokemon themselves feel tacked on and unnecessary, especially when the humans all start turning into super saiyans. And for a game that markets itself as exploration focused, the exploration wasn't anything special. At worst, it just padded the maps out and made them a slog to traverse, especially near the end of the game. Still I had an enjoyable experience overall. Got into this game a few months ago and was excited to play through the complete version. I probably don't play fangames as much as you guys do, so I was more forgiving with certain things.
>>7876 Nice reviews and GGs. I think what would drag this game down is expectations based on the early parts, especially those who played since the early versions. Ending is just a push to the end but it isn't like the game is unfinished like pieces when we played it
>>7877 Odyssey had a better early game, Pisces had a better midgame and they both fell during the late game. The postgame saved Odyssey even if it was a bit underwhelming.
>>7872 >>7873 >>7875 >>7876 congrats again and good review. there are a handful of other fangames that are obsessed with endlessly revamping earlier sections, but this is the game that really needed it.
I think its funny that in an attempt to make the superboss immune to almost every form of status, they gave him two sketchy defensive types. No wonder he has illegal EVs and like 800+ BST.
>>7872 >>7873 >>7876 Congrats and nice read, nah we mostly all had the same thoughts regarding the game, even so far down as having the same score of 7/10. I really hate that they shafted and rushed the later sections because they were so obsessed with making a sequel. >>7874 GG and kek. >>7880 It's sadly becoming a common trend, Empire does it too, Empyrean started it I think.
>>7881 The utter disregard for EO2 and Nexus makes sense now that I know about the "sequel" but I think he should have focused on making one complete game instead of trying to spread too thin. You can clearly see how hard it drops off in Stratum 6+. I'm not kidding when I say that the best part of the postgame was the rematches with the ending being second place. The dragons were so disappointing if you know anything about them from EO proper. They could have made etrian formes out of Gyarados (Storm Emperor), Salamence (Great Dragon) and Garchomp (Blizzard King) too.
>>7882 That's one thing I also noted, EO is a JRPG, what fucking JRPG is completed without big dragon bosses? Especially fire and ice dragons? It just feels so disappointing how much is lacking, and you can feel it that there should be more, but there just isn't. If the dev didn't have passion to properly finish their project when it mattered most, how can we be certain the same won't apply for any future project they make? Honestly it barely felt like the fag cared for Pokemon or have any place for them in the story, I've seen games that truly love Pokemon for what they are do their best to integrate them into the story, this isn't it and it sucks because the shonenshit is just awful and nonsensical.
>>7883 It felt like a grab bag of stuff he liked using Pokemon and EO as a skin. The entire Kitt subplot is made up and has nothing to do with EO.
>>7884 Oh yeah, the dev shoved his nonsensical ship shit into the game and literally nothing else related to the Abyss lore from Albaz' story made it into the game despite there being some damn good room to crossover stuff. As someone who really likes playing Branded and the lore surrounding it, it feels insulting that the dev hyperfocused on Kitt of all things.
>>7885 I think the entire purpose of Kitt's subplot was to help justify Nyx/Ethan's relationship. It was kind of disappointing that Undersea Grotto got mentioned in the credits when getting to explore a dive zone could have been really cool, especially with sliding puzzles and switches. (Which is its actual gimmick anyway). Man, why is this a gen 3 pokemon hack with no HM puzzles anyway?
Aside from brown and prism, are there any completed gb/gbc hacks that aren't rehashes?

I like Odyssey's concept but the more I think about, the more I can't help but think that it crumbled because there was no one there to tell the creator to really pull it back or to guide his thoughts. As a fan of EO, you can tell that the narrative heavily draws from EO1/3 with some minor aspects from 5, so lets use those as our basis. Firstly, I'd nix the idea of the floor captains because they're essentially just gym leaders/trial captains in concept and to me feel kind of counterintuitive to the narrative that he's trying to sell. Instead, I'd just make them in fellow adventurers racing you down to the bottom of the labyrinth. If you MUST have floor captains, then I don't think there should be any beyond the 4th stratum. Include some strong high level pokemon in the mix to act as our end of stratum bosses too. It's supposed to be Pokemon x Etrian but there's barely any puzzles whatsoever which is kind of ridiculous. You're telling me that you only decided to include ONE strength puzzle in the entire game that takes advantage of the line of sight mechanic that FOEs have? Ridiculous. The game is also supposed to be based on a sea heavy game like EO3 but you never get Surf or Dive? Come on. Money management is also a joke past the 1st stratum. Since we're using a more focused approach for our game, do the same with the dex too, instead of this mix of Etrian Formes and real mons, let everyone have an Etrian Forme. Its more work but helps the game to feel more authentic. Drop Battle Bond entirely as a concept and just let the Abyssal Shard be a simple plot device if you don't want to include Megas. I'd redo every single level cap in the game so we don't bum rush Level 60 and then inch at 5 levels at a time for the rest. Change the distribution of Pokemon as well. Make it feel like you're continuously meeting new dudes across the game. If you MUST give the player access to every non legendary line before the 8th Stratum, then use the 7th as our cut off point. Not the 5th. There's a lot to be said about the writing but I'd just be repeating what was already said so I won't bother. Instead I'd just say that scene where Olympia goes through all of our friends one by one dragged too much. I think they could have drip fed that piece by piece across the game leading up to that point. Also, the overall big bad for the narrative feels less threatening than the main game final boss which is odd. With regards to the sidequests, the distribution was odd. You get a bunch of em at the beginning and then after that its like 1 or 2 sidequests per stratum at most. I think he could have paced out the sea quests better too since that could help break up the monotony. Like how you can't actually enter Goneril's second half before unlocking the 4th stratum. If Paco seriously intends on doing Heroes of Lemuria, then I hope he gets proper feedback and takes it to heart because boy, a game based on Nexus of all things is very likely to suffer.

>>7901 congrats bro
>>7900 True enough, I want to play Pokemon for the Pokemon, truly wild I know, so I really don't care much for some weird "chess" playstyle as the dev described it. >>7901 Congrats bro. >>7902 Good read, honestly I think the biggest issue that keeps coming across every review of the game, is just how much missed potential there is, the progression and pacing just suck ass and even Paco himself I think realized that at some point given everything we've seen, but he didn't revamp earlier sections to fix that or make the later Stratums interesting, nothing was touched and was left really half-assed. I will never understand why so many fangames screw up Surf and Dive so badly, especially in a game as sea focused as Odyssey was, actually now that I think about it, Desolation had similar issues, were it felt Surf was an afterthought, but it at least had content gated behind Surf.
>>7905 He tries to include some form of puzzle in 4-7 and the Pirate Island but the implementation is hit and miss. For example, I didn't mind the pits in Stratum 5 because the real one had it but he didn't have to add the warp stuff at the end. That could be added to Stratum 7 instead.

I might do the True ending sidequest autism tomorrow, maybe not tl;dr review is it's pretty good, but not as good as I remember it being when we played it last time, probably has something to do with playing it in between full moon and empire thoughever kek. >>7916 It's never a good look when a fangame's starters look as bland and uninteresting as this, especially when they stand in such a harsh contrast to the regular Pokemon designs shown in the trailer. >The Tangela unfurling it's vines like tentacles and that shot of the professor's face Very subtle. >A game that has the evil team actively trying to get rid of Pokemon and the priestess(?) talking about the insignificance of human life compared to Pokemon >Arceustism >All of which will likely culminate in the retarded trope of humans transforming into monsters (I mean, the bald asshat had a machoke arm grafted onto him) and gaining all the powers of Pokemon and yet we still have to fight them in regular trainer battles Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh..........I really hope I'm wrong about this.......but especially after playing Rejuvenation, Odyssey and a few other fangames, I'm so beyond tired of this shit. >One of the leaders is Heisenberg Kek. I will say, the girls are mostly pure sexo, which is really nice, but I don't know how to feel about this one, there's way too many red flags.
>>7917 the only thing I'll try and argue is I think the bald guy just had an elaborate tattoo'd arm, the part where it's also on his chest reminded me of some of the tattoo shit you see in the yakuza games. also his hand looked normal, and you'd have to be stupid to be like "yeah stick the machoke arm on there, but I'm keeping my regular human hand"
>>7918 I don't think anyone who goes "WE'RE GONNA END THE TYRANNY OF POKEMON!" would be very fond of the idea of tatooing their arm to look like a Pokemon's. Could be his arm was mutated by experiments, hard to say as of yet, I'm always extremely weary of stuff like this making it's way into Pokemon in any form, it can be kino sometimes, but it's really hard to pull it off well.
>>7918 he wouldn't be able to whack off any more with a machoke hand

I'm having a miserable time working on making custom sprites, I don't even know where to start with experimenting with making an Inteleon form more in line with some of the superior fanmade evolutions for Sobble, that and drawing a put together correctly Zolt is being a massive hassle, mainly due to making a proper looking backsprite being fittingly a pain in the ass. Also, how cursed would you rate Jynx with normal-ish eyes instead of googly dots?
(566.50 KB 1216x415 still think it's a tattoo.png)

>>7919 it just doesn't look as big as a machoke arm to me, and again his hand looks normal. it's also doing the thing where it starts at the chest like the one on the right does then again pokemon arm grafting wouldn't be the most insane thing to happen in these games. >>7921 it's pretty cursed my dude, but the design still looks good
>>7922 I didn't even notice his hand was normal due ot me having nightlights on, I guess I can see it being a tatoo better now, it still looks really weird. Kek, I had the idea to try and giving Jynx more expressive eyes after I made the fiery eyes change on Coalossal and it came out pretty good, even though the clear blue eyes work well, it's so cursed seeing Jynx with them.

>Bananza got a gameplay trailer >Rapehorse DK is now a thing >Nintendo gave him a super form that has him have a bare ass with arrows pointing towards it >Nobody likes Pauline's new design >There's a gay furry civil war on /v/ right now due to all of this Peak clownworld.
>>7924 >>Nobody likes Pauline's new design except for lolifags lol
>>7925 Those are having a civil war over this too apparently.
time to wander around mostly aimlessly due to not being able to read anything
professor located
this eevee is fucked
the lab just exploded, rip the professor i guess lol
the fuck did i download lmao
lol
got teleported to a mountain, time to die to the thing from the titlescreen i guess
I live...haha... Had to deal with some rather unpleasant personal stuff, but I should be good for now >>7907 >>7902 >>7876 >>7833 >>7814 GG lads. I'm not closely reading the reviews, but it seems unfortunate Odyssey ended on a more sour note than first thought. I remember we did it right after Full Moon last time, so that might've colored perceptions a bit
https://youtu.be/g_SDWTEoGMM?si=vRHxLtxV55REk2dO Really hope the stuff they are making for Elite Redux ends up good because I really like some of the new mons they are making for it.
>>7940 welcome back bro. sorry you had to do with that personal stuff though
>>7940 Welcome back bro and I'm really sorry to hear. Also thanks bro, h-haha........to be fair almost anything would taste fantastic after playing Full Moon and right before going into Empire. >>7941 >Stardust Garchomp B-BASED!
>>7940 Welcome back bro, sorry to hear about the personal stuff
>>7941 I'll never understand ER's obsession with adding even more shit when there's tons of existing content left half-assed and unfinished, like some hisuian, all paldean pokemon and the new evolutions it added having the wrong cries, or all of the new moves recycling animations from existing ones, if they even have any to begin with.
this fully released today, and just based on the name alone I wonder if it's someone that wasn't happy with which theory ended up being right with scarlet/violet
instead of just boy/girl you get to choose a protag, going with gold
(35.15 KB 1366x720 gimmighoul cheats.png)

>first day and the professor is already missing/kidnapped sucks to suck. there are some difficulty settings you can mess around with in options and this little cheat chest in the bedroom
>because the professor has gone missing my starter choices are gothita, timburr, and galar zigzagoon guess I'll take zigzagoon
(42.20 KB 1366x720 that's what they all say.png)

here's the premise so far: basically the professor not only went missing, they went missing carrying a magic/science rock called a dreamstone. the lab was planning on using it to power a machine that would let them analyze pokemon's dreams. Since no one else at the lab can go search for a new one, it's up to the mc, first day on the job as a lab assistant, to go out and find one. This is the rival, an ace rookie (which doesn't make sense) that tried to take that mission away from me just now
(36.31 KB 1366x720 choices on rewards.png)

idk if it's every side quest, but in the game's summary it mentioned that you would be presented with choices like these where you will only get one, possibly ever.
(68.66 KB 1366x720 the goat of gen 3.png)

I think it's 3 games in a row now where the first meditite I get has pure power and good attack, makuhita just can't compete
>>7948 >Goldlet They could have scaled him up a bit.
(449.28 KB 500x737 1749328978976196.png)

>Mfw I spent nearly a whole day trying to draw a raptor's ass for a custom sprite and my Paleotism keeps flaring up telling me I should change parts of the design to be more in line with accurate reconstructions, which causes me to start the proccess all over again >Then when I finally think I'm getting a good handle on things, I can't find the proper contrast colors for shading and spend fucking hours paranoically shifting the hues ever so slightly to see if that would work I think I just remembered why I haven't artfagged in so long. >>7951 Is the progression decent at least?
so instead of getting an estus you get one heal pass when you visit a center that you can use with joys on the route. no pass, no heal, and the rub is the way back to the center is blocked off, I'd have to white out to get back to it, so the only way is forward >>7955 too early to tell. it's trying to make routes challenging by preventing running back to the center so you actually buy healing items, but trainers aren't paying out a lot yet. also you can buy mints for $200 each at any mart, but which ones you can buy are based on badge count, with no badges it's impish/calm/relaxed only kek
can't find the documentation for this game that the dev says exists, so from what I've seen you don't have many options for the rock type gym. I've seen cubone in the wild, tinka in the wild, and budew and sinistcha from events. I hope you like rollout spam. you get a rare shard for winning, which is supposed to let you raise the iv of one of your pokemon, but the plot prevents you from doing it for now.
>>7956 Very le funny jab at America's healthcare, truly reddit approved. Interesting, nice to see you can buff mints at least. >>7957 GG. Does the game give hints as to what's around? Most fangames made by tards with a grasp on game design typically have the Pokemon present in the route as part of the trainers there at least.
>>7958 some signs give hints on new mechanics but no dexnav or anything like that
>>7958 also thanks bro
okay got to use the statue this time, it boosted zig's iv from D- to S, hopefully rare shards aren't limited to gym wins
>>7942 >>7943 >>7944 thanks lads still recovering a bit from jet lag but I can probably start up something tomorrow or so. I guess we have no real plans now that odyssey is done? >>7957 GG
>>7962 thanks bro. no plans for now, if you want something small then pokemon noon was good
(40.80 KB 1366x720 not a sun team but still.png)

>h.growlithe >sizzlepede >blaze breed tauros that will just spam work up and flame charge >item spam >the only water type I've been offered is dewipede 6 tries, this game is being really stingy with pokemon choice
(12.91 KB 384x384 880.png)

I hate shading so fucking much and I still can't draw plumage right at all, but I'm getting somewhere, drawing the backsprite is going to be a fucking nightmare. >>7959 That sucks. >>7962 There was a game I saw a while back and wanted to try out, can't remember what it was right now. Revival also got a new update, RG seemed to really like the demo for it. I highly recommend Noon and PALF, Noon is a top tier shitpost and PALF despite being a VN of sorts still has the regular Pokemon gameplay to go through, I imagine you'd enjoy it quite a bit if you're not looking for something not too involved but still really fun, just h-haha.........hope that IVs don't decide to fuck you over hard. >>7964 GG, weathertism this early is never a good sign of things to come.
>>7965 thanks bro. after some more gameplay I figured out the pokedex does list each mons movepool, level move pool, and when/how it evolves, which is very nice. heliolisk came to mind when I looked at the one on the left
>>7966 Neat that the dex at least shows info, sucks there's none on encounters. I'm trying to make a put together corretly Zolt, basically just an Electric raptor, the issue is I've been struggling with shading, too dark and it contrasts too much, too light an it looks too faded and doesn't mash well. Then there's me trying to make a cool plumage detail for the tail, which is driving me insane.
(106.43 KB 1366x720 you WILL buy the items.png)

I would prefer the tectonic method of trainers respawning unless you perfect them to this
(105.59 KB 1366x720 ace rookie fails again.png)

>get to two evil team grunts with the rival already talking to them >denied the cliche setup where you show up to help them, they tell you to fuck off and try and take them on his self >he fails and you get to watch him cry and run off back to town, then you beat them in a 1v2 that was fun
(66.15 KB 1366x720 might've been right.png)

>that triangle is a dreamstone >it absorbs the dreams of sleeping pokemon that are near it and turns it into energy as well as stores the dreams themselves >the plan is to flip the switch to reverse and revive pokemon whose dreams were recorded hundreds of millions of years ago they should've just built a time machine
(89.37 KB 1366x720 why should I.png)

even though I won they tried taking it anyway, but it activated it and transported me and what I think is supposed to be the second rival to this awful desert full of nothing but lileep and shieldon. when you escape you run into the scientist filling in for the missing professor, and he tells you it must've transported the mc to ancient cormoria. but it would've just been a dream of it I guess, but it was the entire place and not just the pokemon there...again this time travel with extra steps and a bronze medal in mental gymnastics on how this isn't just time travel
>Decided to check on /v/ to see if there were any Claude threads >Find out the jannies are purposely nuking everything that isn't pedo threads >Checks in on a thread I was following on halfchan /vp/ about anons translating the ecology book >Finds out it died overnight because Musk decided to spam 12 different threads bitching about Arcanine Fuck's sake. >>7970 >An entire romhack made by a butthurt dream/imagination schizo who lost his shit over the alternative timeline powers of Terapagos being revealed TIMETRAVEL GODS simply cannot stop winning, even though we also didn't really win necessarily.
>pay to advance the plot >in a game that wants you to spend money on items >in a game that made a side quest that takes money away from you at the very end for no reason fuck you
>yamper >kirlia with rocky helmet >dewott >ceruedge with swords dance/flame charge/shadow sneak and a sitrus berry >even more item fagging >the third gym leader gives you 400 bucks the second one gave me 1700, what the fuck? the game stole 500 from me in a side quest, another 1000 to advance the plot, and it doesn't have the decency to at least refund me the cash via gym leader stomping? fuck you. this stupid rival cuck pissed himself all the way down the mountain, grinded up his team, and still lost despite also breaking the gym rules. he was supposed to just use normal types, but he's a sore loser. 8 tries
let's make tranquill an attacker and put 0 physical moves in it's levelup pool, genius gamefreak
(44.17 KB 1366x720 idk what this gym even was.png)

>>7965 two bayleefs, a galar linoone, and a bombirdier. I guess it was dark type, but few gym trainers had bayleef as well. idk what the fuck the plan was, the game will not give me basic tms but it will give me gyarados and easy access to maxing out it's attack and speed ivs.
Question, any idea who is that guy with the streamable links that made a thread? he just says "you know the drill" and I couldnt find anything in the other chan.
>>7979 no idea
>>7974 >>7976 GG. >>7975 It genuinely takes effort making a Pokemon as bad as Tranquil. >>7979 No idea, I haven't kept tabs on the LP thread on halfchan in weeks, is it one of us tripfags maybe?
>>7985 it looks like someone "leaking" a new 3D pokemon game. idk why but in the op they're like "someone move this to 4chan"
I'll bake
Ah, I see it now, I thought it was related to this thread, but nah, no clue whoever the guy making those threads in the catalog is.
new bread >>7989 new bread >>7989
>>7979 some guy with a poorly-made fake leak
